“Professor Vali Reza Nasr is an Iranian-American academic and political scientist, specializing in Middle Eastern studies and the history of Islam. He is Majid Khaddouri Professor of International Affairs and Middle East Studies at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, D.C.”
This eloquent expat may provide the most balanced and rational analysis to be seen in the West, even if must operate within rigid overton windows. Born in Tehran and understanding of the current Iranian world view and spirituality, he can look through their eyes and cogently present their point of view to us
Brilliant source of thinking, information, nuance and even-handedness. In 30 minutes, he presents the internal and external policies and actions, and geopolitical and political forces that have shaped the Islamic Republic. Sans ideological poisoning.
As the hostess says: contextualization.
