There was gossip but now we have the photo!  SCO is having a 2 day meeting of SCO Ministers of Defense and the Iranian and Russian Ministers of Defense are present and accounted for!  SCO Defense Ministers’ Meeting held in China’s Qingdao.

The gossip was that Iran is buying.   The Iranian Minister of Defense, Aziz Nasirzadeh, as he was seen sitting in a Chengdu J-10

Iran’s parliament passed a bill to suspend the country’s cooperation with the IAEA.  The Guardian Council has now approved, and it is a done deal.

Update:  Russia disagrees. Russian FM wants Iran to cooperate with the IAEA, demands respect for Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.  Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says that Moscow wants Iran to maintain its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).  “We are interested in Iran’s cooperation with the IAEA continuing,” he said at a press conference.  “We are interested in everyone respecting the Supreme Leader of Iran, who has repeatedly stated that Iran does not and will not have plans to create nuclear weapons.”

Chaos in the US.  CNN and others published a leaked document saying that the strikes in Iran on its nuclear facilities were not successful.  The whole of the MAGA level (the ones still remaining as this is breaking as we speak) are on Fox news disputing this report from the Pentagon.  Let’s leave them to fight their political theater.

Trump of course wanted to play King of the World at the NATO conference and he wants his Nobel Peace Prize (would somebody give him one please to get him to quiet down!)

Iran has not made any comment.  Confusion everywhere and nobody believes a word from this man who has been lying consistently to Iran for weeks now.  Israeli media reports that Netanyahu instructed his cabinet to make no comments.

We are looking at a major Iranian strike, or we are looking at a false flag.  Most Gulfies are closing their airspace.  Centcom is ‘advertising’ high alert, Qatar Airways flight QR330 from London turned around before entering Qatar, other planes turning around too.  Reports of intense US Air Force movements in the CENTCOM area and Saudi Armed forces have been put on high alert.  American, British and French jets have been scrambled in the entire Persian Gulf region.

This is what is being said but of course, WE DON’T KNOW.  A coordinated attack from Iran, Iranian faction in Iraq & Houthi’s in Yemen is expected to take place.  Trump has called his security team to the situation room.

An act of theater with cool headlines (in the US – a Donald Trump made-for-TV moment).  Oh, we see all the normal ‘condemnations’ and ‘international law’ and ‘heinous escalation’ verbiage flowing in, but essentially, the bombing itself was a nothing burger, and do not forget that when you read the headlines. Trump falsely claimed to have destroyed Fordo, which was only a limited attack and, by reports, took the doors down, and also bombed two empty facilities at Natanz and Isfahan that Israel had already targeted.  These facilities were empty and evacuated.  It is not the ‘biggest and grandest’ thing that has ever happened, and has done nothing for peace and security.  It is a further demonstration of the perfidy of those who think they own the world.

It is the consequences that could have a chilling effect.  No doubt the free world’s leaders are on the phone begging Iran not to reciprocate (but secretly hoping that they do). 2 nuclear states are fighting a non-nuclear state.  Let that sink in for a moment.

This was a criminal act not only of aggression, not only Iran, but of disdain for the world community as a whole.  Trump now owns two wars, a genocide, and an attack on nuclear facilities.

About an hour ago Trump arrived at the White House for a national security meeting.  Now his Truth Social says:

I’m not sure, but it looks like a media show.  Nothing in yet from Iran.  No confirmation.  The US news is dizzy with terms like US enters war with Iran and HISTORIC ESCALATION and the World is SAFER NOW!  Astonishing deception by Trump (said as if it is a good thing! – No other country could have done this!  This is America First in action and other bloviating.

There is one little news outlet in Iran, Mehr, that sounds a little confused and says: Materials were removed from those sites and they are evacuated.  If Trump’s claim is correct, there does not seem to be significant damage.  A spokesman for the Qom Provincial Crisis Management Headquarters confirmed to Tasnim that hours ago, after Qom’s air defenses were activated and hostile targets were identified, part of the Fordow nuclear site was struck by enemy airstrikes.  Fars News Agency, quoting an Iranian official: Attacks near two nuclear facilities in Isfahan and Natanz.

Iran does not seem spun up at all.  So, we wait.  Careful reading media.  So far this has a Wag the Dog Flavor.

What needs highlighting is this:

Battle Of Bombs

The final contextual point I’ll address is the idea that Iran is running out of missiles or that ‘Israel’ has air dominance over Iran.

First we need to establish a theoretical model. We are dealing with two entirely different models of war here. Iran is a missile and drone-based army and barely has an air force at all. They invested decades ago in this different paradigm, which we also saw in Yemen. ‘Israel’, on the other hand, is a classic, western jet and bomb model. They are what RFK Jr. called ‘our aircraft carrier in the region,’ and behave accordingly. ‘Israel’ has missiles, drones, and luxury terrorism capacity, but it is fundamentally a jet/bomb model like America, indeed, it is America, it’s all one White Empire as I will tell you over and over.

Now let’s look at the Iranian system. This is one Iranian missile city, and they have Allah knows how many buried under mountains. People talking about Iran’s missile launchers getting destroyed have no idea what they’re talking about. As you can see in the video, Iran’s missile launchers are trucks and they have dozens of them in each silo, with many exits to run and gun from. You can see them in action here, in one of the latest waves.  (See video).

Those of us who ‘grew up and learned about war’ from the Russian SMO should pay attention.  As the forces between Israel and Iran are different, so it is with Russia.  Wars are not cookie-cutter affairs.  Although principles align (kill the enemy), wars are fought differently.   Do not as a matter of course try and apply the Russian SMO tactics and methods to the Israeli/US war against Iran.  The objectives are different as a start.  Iran wants to destroy Israel’s military capacity (wait for the US, they are appearing) and Israel’s economy.  Be cautious of those video makers who decide the detail of Iran’s war on Russian principles.   These situations are different.  We are talking war, not SMO.
