I’ve seen the transponder moving for the Russian ship the last few days but haven’t posted it. If one pops up again I will. It was mid-Atlantic last I saw, closer to Cuba than Europe. I’d bet real money Russian subs aren’t far away.

I agree with you that what’s happening in Mexico is mainly propaganda. I just think it’s propaganda aimed at giving Trump something to talk about Tuesday night in his speech, so everyone can ignore Iran. What I see are two US assets “fighting each other”, it’s Al-Qaeda/ISIS all over again.

I also think, at the end of the day, Mexico is in a much worse position than any other country south of the USA because of proximity. The typical US playbook of bribery, corruption, and chaos works even better when the country is right next door and the ruling class is descended from colonizers.

. My personal take is that the cartels as well as many factions in government are either USA plants or compromised. So I did see that the Federales took out the cartel leader- as if they wanted the repercussions. We shall see. I am skeptical this whole thing is organic, the timing “coincidentally” matches the potential need to dial back pressure on Iran and also deal with that Russian first attempt at breaking the Cuba blockade…
