I agree dear AHH about the ostensible decision to add the heftier populated and strategically located countries first.

Now that the news has settled in a bit, the choice of Ethiopia strikes me as rather odd. Big population, yes, but not a big mover and shaker on the international stage – and the WHO chief doesn’t count.

Perhaps the political views of the new members’ leadership mattered, but then why leave out Algeria for now? Its location is much closer to W. Europe and Algeria may have been “passed over” to avoid causing alarm to the Europeans at this stage of the jungle’s BRICS rise.

Even tho Larch is right about Yev, I’m going to miss him and some of his antics, tho not his more distasteful ones. He kept it interesting and was a “complicated” character.

So I agree with Mr P, I’d buy Yev a drink too.

PS: Saudi and Iran joining is absolutely huge. Add to that Egypt and you have all major regional powers in the club bar Nato-member Turkey. Alhamdullilah!

Fantastic additions to BRICS+, although Argentina looks like the weakest economic link here. Ethiopia has a massive population but can it remain stable post-civil strife? Either way, this is a significant step forward to uniting the “Global Globe” against the forces of Satan the Hegemon.

Alas, I don’t have much time these days to read everything, but just want to express my appreciation for all of your contributions on this beloved website.

    Peace!

My wife and I recently tried to rewatch “Liar Liar”, didn’t finish it as there was that “usual scene” and an inappropriately dressed client. So we tried “Matilda” the next day, yet to finish but so far so good, much more appropriate for our kids when older. Dahl is hilarious and perceptive of human nature.

Guess I and the Taliban were wrong about Qin’s masculinity. Although one could argue that a real man knows how to be a master over his biological urges. I couldn’t fathom that he’d be sacked over such a “trivial” affair, but the CPC is conservative and sees itself as the guardian of morality, not a bad thing during these Hollyweird times.

So Qin’s crime was that he was “flaunting” his extramarital relationship too much on social media. Tsk, tsk, if you play hard, play secretly and don’t get caught – Old Boys Rule #6.

    <hr />

My sympathies dear emerson. Wishing you well.

There has to be some sort of payback-crash. As previously mentioned, some just get stuck in their LSD trip. Fascinating stuff, but sadly no reliable or existing data.

Drugs are discouraged for a reason. They create dependency and are always poisonous to body, mind, and possibly spirit? Just looking at some addicts gives one the impression they’re possessed by the demon of insatiability.

Quite odd that the Poles still romanticize their cavalry. The Mongols made mincemeat out of their glorious knights in one day (!) almost a millenium ago. Isn’t it always the “losers” that can’t cope with reality and glorify the past. Make Whatever Great Again. Or worse, appropriate someone else’s past when your own seems lacking. Himmler desperately fantasized that Germans built the pyramids – even Hitler couldn’t lol.

That Natalia story is kinda hilarious. The ultimate plot twist is that it’s a dude – I kid.

They really parade everyone on stage with Ukies when they can huh. Who’s next? Green eyed Afghan girl?

Incredible India indeed. The ultimate swing state. Would hate to see a war in the Himalayas, won’t settle border disputes, will breed revanchism.

Solution? A rather obscure (anti-)guru by the name of UG Krishnamurti (not related to J Krishnamurti) was once asked how to end poverty. His answer: “kill all the brahmins!”

UG was from the brahmin caste himself, but obviously didn’t care a hoot about such things. His remark was (probably) tongue in cheek, but is on the mark: get rid of toxic oligarchs and India can finally be a free and fair country.

A civilization that has been blessed with numerous enlightened beings such as Siddharta Gautama, and more recently, Sri Ramana Maharshi surely still has Heaven’s favor.

So we await a miracle, but let’s not forget that China once appeared as a hopeless basket case too filled with legions of unscrupulous and untrustworthy people. Heck, it still has those kinds of people.

PS at least Shaka and his warriors had an intelligent tactic to avoid bullets, come close and destroy some of their invaders. Shame, the SA peace delegation could have reminded the Poles that they don’t always need guns to kick ass.

    PPS Smoothie rocks.

It never occurred to me that computers rust in very humid climates. Would a dehumidifier make any difference in such an environment?

One could deduct the cost of acquisition for ACs and dehumidiers as “work related” usage. How else to save our digitally stored work?

Ancient Chinese doctors would only get paid so long their retained clients stayed healthy. “One cough and no more coins until you’ve fixed it doc”.

Obviously, dead patients stop paying. So no incentive to prescribe us those pesky jabs.

ACs are hit and miss. I used to visit my ancestral land during hot summers as a kid. One of my cousins was fond of cranking up the AC to the max. There I was in a hot and humid 30 – 35 degrees climate with a cold.

Still don’t like em, and would rather sweat it out. Am keeping my kids away from these machines, they’re still very young. “Luckily”, there aren’t many ACs around where I live. But no central heating either and nights do get cold.

Used properly though, it can transform a backwater island into Singapore. Lee Kuan Yew seemed to love it.

Sad that many bodies just give up when their usefulness has expired. Whatever happened to “work to live, not live to work”, or is that a new phrase?

But then again, ambition and vanity do mess with our spirits. The Japanese have taken pride in their work quite far. And many Chinese are doing a 996 instead of “lying flat”.

Looks like there’s still a thing or two to learn from the old British adage about that dull boy called Jack.

The discovery of astrology is downright odd. How did a bunch of ancients figure out how to scry the night sky, and subsequently create a framework to accurately predict events that are fated to happen? For lack of a better answer I suspect Mesopotamian mushrooms, or other such substances to led to fantastic things like shamans, Norse berserkers and the I Ching.

Dear AHH, I was deliberately keeping mum for a reason. There are unspeakable sinister sides to being a ‘Power Cusper’. Truths far too horrific for our simple human minds to understand. I had hoped you would not notice, but nothing escapes those gifted with Power. I should have known better. My humblest apologies. Please don’t eat me 🙏

What’s fascinating about astrology is its accuracy in describing human personalities and behaviors. It begs the question how much free will we have, and how much control we have over our own tendencies and destinies.

What is that about? Must we learn to master what appears to be our inborn nature, influenced by stars and planets?

Must we learn to just go with the flow, and totally embrace and submit to the Creator’s plans for us?

And/or are we pre-destined to be reborn at a specific date and time so (some) of our karma can be fulfilled?

Until we get the point and finally seek ways to reunite eternally with our Maker?

Is astrology just another hint from the Ordainer that there’s more to this mortal life of chance and endless limitations?

Taking it too far and it becomes a distraction indeed. Much like any fascinating hint left by the Mysterious One, be it math, music or mushrooms. We must not stop at each scenic waterfall but go all the way to the Ocean.

Dear Sudhi, thank you for the link. Too much for one evening, but certainly worth coming back to and digest when destiny allows.

I’m a bit of an amateur hobbyist in astrology, but I lack the time to do more research. So please take what I write with some salt 🙂

What I can gather is that it’s all about the constellations and planets, and the attributes it emanates or bestows on us when the Sun is in a specific constellation at the time of our birth.

The ancients somehow discovered this and then chose animals and mystical beings that best fitted the attributes of each zodiac. Capricorns were originally Crocodiles.

The Aries-Taurus Cusp is also known as the Cusp of Power, definitions often include: natural-born leaders, dedicated to passions/goals and able to achieve them, intelligent, impatient and stubborn. But it doesn’t necessarily make you a megalomaniac lol.

One has to look at where the Moon is positioned in the sky during the time of birth as well. Then all the other planets too, albeit their influence is less dominant. Being male or female affects how the zodiac influence our personality too.

Personally, I’d say genes matter too – I’ve met fraternal twins of the same gender that looked and acted quite differently.

Finally, there’s also our earthly environment to consider. Having (dys)functional parents will affect if we can reach our true potential or not, ie become the actualized version, or the destructive dysfunctional version.

Self-awareness and knowledge of astrology can undoubtable affect a change too, and help a person to become a better version of themselves if they’re willing to work on themselves.

So you and your relatives probably benefitted from loving, nurturing homes and/or made good personal choices.

Well done for not being Adolf 2.0! The world owes you our gratitude.

I’m not overtly into astrology, but there is some serious truth in zodiacs if you apply it with common sense and empirical observations. The Babylonians were onto something.

Both Mao and Stalin were Capricorns, hardworking and ruthless types, often considered evil by those that misunderstand this zodiac.

Mr Putin certainly fits the bill of an ‘actualized’ Libra, fair and just to the core.

Prigozhin and Trump are stereotypical ‘unactualized’ Geminis. Two-faced turncoats who are always driven by their own selfish ambitions.

An ‘actualized’ Gemini would look more like Mr Xi, using their innate talents for many things to serve not just themselves but also the people.

Speaking of Chinese leaders, two of the greatest emperors, Qin Shihuang and Tang Taizong, were both Aquarians. In its actualized state, this zodiac produces sagely types intent on easing humanity’s suffering.

Why is this relevant, you may ask?

The Aries-Taurus cusp, those born between April 17 and April 23, are said to be gifted with extremely powerful personalities, as it allegedly combines the strength of both zodiacs into one.

There is little doubt in my mind that those familiar with the occult are aware of this potent astrological alignment and the significance of these, and other, dates.

AHH, you’re a living and breathing encyclopedia. And a very organized one!

That does shed light on Erdogan’s flip flops.

These MI6 people, Moore and Gallagher, give me the creeps. To be able to exert such enormous influence from behind the shadows. What do these men know that we know not?

    Thank you dear AHH!

Just saw your post here. Re Operation Valkyrie, I think the chances of such an operation are increasing by the week.

I can’t find the video anymore, but the Guardian (not a source) had a video with the Zelenskys walking arm-in-arm, sort of, with nervous and concerned expressions on their faces. They didn’t seem to notice the cameras filming their every move, so fair to say they were caught off guard or, more likely, too worried to pay them any attention. Volodymyr was wearing his Castro, and Olena in blue. It was the day of that picture.

Vol had earlier stirred some ruckus with his comments. Then we have Val Zaluzhny “giving an interview” with WaPo, venting “his” frustrations.

In other words, the Ukies seem to have finally grasped that the rules in the rules-bs order are intangible.

They seemed genuinely perplexed and terrified at the thought that Nato might not keep to their word, lol, and save their sorry behinds.

And that is scary. What if the lower downs start to make sense of this? That US support is half-hearted, or worse waning. That they’re just fodder, to be discarded now that it’s becoming obvious, to Nato, that they’re losing.

Who are the lower downs going to take their anger out on?

Will they be allowed to fly out in their jets when the angry mobs descends? Or, Heaven forbid, the marauding “orcs” arrive?

Hungary might just not give permission to enter their airspace, you know.

This meme is fun and twisted.

Twisted, because we have reached a point where we’re “with Adolf” on this one.

    Thanks Liverwurst. Just thanks.

I’m genuinely intrigued about the story behind the picture in panel four (bottom right). Is the smile photoshopped as well, or was he having a particular good day? “So zhere is no resistance to our occupation of Sudetenland? Gut, gut”.

    Happy Friday all.

Yes, received email and am ready to go.

Did some digging through the ol’ Moveable Feast Cafe – dealing with some info overload right now.

Have got Scott’s next video to look forward to and then some other news to catch up on.

Hey, it’s weekend so I will indulge.
