Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the protests:
    ……………………………………………………….
➢ THEY BROUGHT TERRORISTS FROM ABROAD INTO THE COUNTRY. They set mosques on fire. They set people on fire, beheaded some.

If anyone belongs to this country, let them protest, and we will listen to their protest, heed it, and resolve it. I ask our dear people, as before, to gather in every neighborhood and not allow unrest. To our dear youth, who, based on the analyses formed in their heads—right or wrong—we say: DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY THESE POMMISSIONERS AND TERRORISTS ! America and Israel are sitting there, teaching them: “Go ahead, we are here too.” The very same ones who struck this country and killed our youth and children are now ordering these people to do this work… [saying]: “We are here, you go destroy, and we will come after you.” Families, I beg you, don’t let your youth mingle with the rioters and terrorists. Let them protest. We must listen to your protest. We must solve your problem. Let’s sit together, hand in hand, and solve this.

I think US is preparing to attack Iran soon, now that their mossad agents have been captured, they are severely limited instigating more riots. Also the IDF insider betting account betted it would happen before January 31st.

I tried to locate corroborating info, but unsuccessful. The excerpt below, is from a Russian military blog – we may have answers tomorrow.

Fundamental changes have taken place in Iran; the situation has changed from “defense” to “readiness for an imminent offensive.”

During the day, there were actions related to the movement of troops; but after sunset, Iran moved on to the stage of clearing fire corridors.
A fire corridor is the liberation of certain airways for the safe passage of missiles or drones to external targets without interference from civilian or domestic aviation.

Exclusive update on the evening of January 10th (5:01 p.m.):

1️⃣Western Corridor of Fire (from the center to the west of Iran)
    • A new NOTAM notice has been issued (A0398/26)
    • Route: from Markazi (Arak) and Hamadan provinces towards Kermanshah and Ilam
    • Analysis: This is not just the closure of a security zone, but the opening of an “air tunnel”; a scheme commonly used for the passage of ballistic missiles or groups of drones from central bases towards Iraq or Israel.
    • Technical conclusion: The missile systems are activated and aimed at the west.

    2️⃣Jask Sea Gate
    • NOTAM number A0390/26
    • Value: a base of large submarines and long-range anti-ship missiles
    • Analysis: Activating Jask means ensuring the security of the “support platform”. In the case of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, this is the only effective point for a collision with the US navy in the Indian Ocean.

3️⃣Tehran’s Last Defense Belt (Short-range air defense)
    • NOTAM number A0392/26
    • Limitation of flights at very low altitude
    • Analysis: Deployment and activation of short-range air defense systems (for example, Majid or Tor-M1) in an urban environment to combat cruise missiles or small drones. This is the last shield before being hit.

    4️⃣Wahdati–Dezful Airfield
    • NOTAM number A0395/26
    • Analysis: Putting the base in a “live fire” state means being ready for aerial border collisions and preventing penetration into the interior of the country.

A very short and accurate geopolitical summary:

The name of this stage is “Opening the firing path”

The most important and dangerous sign is the western air corridor.
When a country clears the airway from the center to the borders, this is a strong indicator of aggressive intent (missile/unmanned), and not just defense.

    Current situation:
    • Commanders in shelters (from noon)
    • The fire corridor is open (now)
    • Close-range defense in the capital is active (now)

    Result:
Iran is in a “finger on the trigger” state

⚡️ Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev stated that Russia will not accept any deployment of European or NATO troops in Ukraine.

Commenting on the French leader’s statements, he wrote in the following:

The idiots in power in Europe seem to genuinely want a war in Europe. It’s been said a thousand times: Russia will not accept any European or NATO troops in Ukraine, but no—Mikron continues to push this pathetic nonsense. Well, go ahead. That’s what you’ll get.

Medvedev attached a video of the Oreshnik hypersonic missile strike on targets in the Lviv region to the text.

Iraq nationalized Lukoil’s largest oil field to hand over production to American company ExxonMobil.

Baghdad has caved in to pressure from Washington and is ousting the Russian company from one of the world’s largest oil projects. The Iraqi government has approved a plan to nationalize West Qurna-2, 75% of which was owned by Lukoil. Formally, management is being transferred to the state-owned Basra Oil for a year to “avoid disruptions,” but the real reason is US sanctions and an ultimatum to sell assets by January 17.

Lukoil is forced to abandon a project it had been developing from the very beginning, Igor Yushkov, leading analyst at the National Energy Security Fund, explained in an interview with Readovka. Russian oil companies received a license twice, demined the area, and negotiated with local tribes to launch production . Now, ExxonMobil is considered the leading contender for the asset —the corporation is already operating in a neighboring field and is interested in expanding its business.

According to the expert, the main intrigue is whether Lukoil will be allowed to walk away with the money. The company hasn’t received payments from Iraq since last year due to transaction blocks. Since the contract is a service contract (the subsoil is state-owned, and the company is merely the operator), Baghdad could simply change its name.

“Right now, Lukoil is essentially receiving nothing. The only question is compensation: either the money will be frozen in Iraqi accounts until sanctions are lifted, or there will be total nationalization without any payments. The Americans are simply clearing the way for ExxonMobil,” Yushkov concluded.
