My fellow Americans are today ‘celebrating’ the 4th of July …
I’m NOT …
I’m remembering all the women and children, elderly, young men America has killed …
for profit …
for power …
for no reason…
other than “Hey, we can do this … anytime, anywhere we choose, just to remind you not to mess with us” (Hiroshima and Nagasaki for instance – nuked on the orders of a little short guy who had ‘issues’ I’m sure)
I’ve spent most of my 84 years grieving, praying over … these deeds … beginning with the zionist project, then my late brother’s tales of Viet Nam (and witnessing his drug addiction (introduced in the military, carried over to civilian life until he switched to the Bible and “Israel”) … and on and on … it never stops!
And to use Amarynth’s lament … ‘and the world does nothing’ …
and while I have fought feeling ‘hate’ all my life …
today I find I lack the energy to continue that battle …
Not celebrating today, that’s for darn sure …
