⭕🔻 Dr.Snekotron: Update on some of the unreliable rumors about Syria floating everywhere on social media today.
🔻 WS: All of the items you listed suggest a party operating from a position of weakness, not one of strength. So the question is … why?
What is the real objective here?
And what is the true nature of the weakness that has prompted an immediate appeal to disinfo operations?
🔻 C2: Battlefield Weakness..; Disinform whilst perpetrating a ruse
⭕ Brandon Weichert and I are friendly with each other and agree on multiple points. But few, if any, of our points of agreement can be found in his thread linked below. Nevertheless, I recommend his thread for your consideration as I contemplate my eventual counterarguments to it. |THREAD|
🔻 C1: If I ever see the US beat the Houthis, I’ll maybe consider that the US is capable of regime change in Iran.
🔻 WS: What I think is amazing is that disarming the Yemeni will almost certainly be viewed by the Pentagon as a prerequisite to any major campaign against Iran.As things currently stand, the Suez canal and the Bab el-Mandeb are effectively closed to US seaborne logistics.
🔻 C2: Really? you see the need to answer the long string of events, that depend on each (or many) in the sequence being correct? 5 sequential events, ea 51% prob 2B correct (0.51^5) = 3.45% chance of being right.& 1st in sequence is DJT makes Russia a UKR deal it will accept? (<.51%)
🔻 WS: The fact is, a great many people sincerely believe this string of events can be brought to pass. And it increasingly appears the new iteration of US leadership has persuaded themselves this course of action is imperative for the empire to be retained and secured into the future.
🔻 C2: Many people believe that Russian casualties exceed the # Ukr casualties & Russia “already lost the war” & builds weapons using chips from washing machines or that Ukraine is a Democracy. Addressing bogus beliefs, widely shared, are easily rejected.
[it is sad for those captured within hermetically sealed imperial bubbles. And these reinforce the sea of lies unasked, willingly self-inflating delusion out of sheer desperation at what can no longer be countenanced.. The chickens came home to rest in the Empire of Lies & Illusions. The inmates run the Asylum]
🔻 C3: World wars are won in the Middle East, someone said. It’s like in chess, whoever dominates the center, dominates the board. If Iran falls, the multipolar world is in danger and so is the Silk Road project. China and Russia will not leave Iran alone.
🔻 WS: I am inclined to agree.
📜 All for One and One for All
🔻 Ray: I am nobody in particular, but I agree, 92% of Iranian oil goes to China. They are energy challenged, as Japan was in WW2.The double vice grip is to box Iran in, withering it economically, while simultaneoulsy threatening to strangle China on the energy front.
Their only response would be an overland route to the ME through Pakistan directly into Iran – a Hannibal like achievement but it would put serious numbers of troops on the ground if needed, but unlikely.
I get your points on missiles etc, but there are more weapons than military ones and I guess Trump will deploy them all. American weakness is writ large and in bold under the woke Democrats. However, if Musk and Ramaswamy purge the administrative state and the associated bureaucracy the US could take off, long before 2026, averting the dollar collapse, assuring wavering allies and, under those circumstances it is conceivable that China will have missed its moment.
[somebody tell Ray about the Power of Siberia pipelines and nuclear power plants and Plan Bs.. Iran being essential to China is oversold. The problem of energy security the Japanese suffered is largely solved for this round. And even if not, China is not Fascist Imperial Japan; it will take a step back for 100 steps forward the next year… Iran is about Pax Judaica and local politics. Of using the USUK condom one last time to good effect, even if at total cost to said condom]
🔻 WS: China is not energy-challenged, as Japan was in 1940. There is no meaningful comparison between the two situations. And while 90%+ of Iranian production goes to China, 90%+ of China’s oil imports come from elsewhere.
The US military could not impose an energy blockade of China.
🔻 Ray: Of the 493 million metric tonnes of oil imported by China in 2023, 263 come from the ME and the US. The physical/military/economic/political domination, or a combination of the above, of the ME by the US would, in a conflict situation, cripple China overnight. The majority of the balance of oil remaining comes from Angola, Brazil, Malaysia and Russia – three of which will fold – leaving Russia, with overland supply routes still, as I understand it, being constructed. The failure to remove Iran from the board will provide China with the necessary physical beachhead to consolidate its long term security. Hence, IMO, Iran is geostrategically critical for the US.
Whether the US can effect such an outcome given the chaos and well-earned distrust it has sown for the past number of decades and given Iranian, Russian and Chinese missile capabilities remains to be seen, but given the historically pivotal moment facing the US I can’t imagine they have any option but to try to break Iran – by means fair or, more likely, foul.
🔻 WS: I submit the US lacks the power projection capability to blockade Persian Gulf oil exports to China. And any attempt to do so would put the US at war against Iran, Russia, and China — a war I submit the US could not sustain for more than a few weeks, and could never hope to win.
🔻 Ray: If the submission of Iran is definitively on the table and ME players are convinced of that, I would suggest that Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, UAE and Oman would voluntarily side with the US and no blockade would be necessary. A great many in the ME would be glad to be rid of the legacy of the revolution in 1979.Oil going to China would be diverted to Europe in lieu of Russian supplies (currently discretely re-routed, as I understand it, via India et al) so the ME would remain in business so to speak.
But this would be dependent on whether the US was economically resurgent (I personally believe it will be under Trump) and as a consequence politically resurgent. My belief is that Trump will repeat his approach to Iran – focusing on economically isolating them and trying to break them in that way. But God only knows what Israel has in mind and whether that tail will wag the dog again or whether matters have already gone too far to avoid full conflict – one that, as you say, directly involves China and Russia.
[Ah, he outs himself! Hope dies last among supremacists. Will didn’t bother to respond to these foam-speckled words.. how to explain to MAGA-Man that the desert bedouins are doomed, and either way?? There exist forces within Iraq alone that promised to level the traitorous concubines. And they have the tools to do it.. not to mention Yemen, and Iran itself. The Moshiach in Dune II promised to nuke the “spice fields.” ALL Persian Gulf oil & gas will shortly cease to flow, in order to finally collapse the global market and the Old Order. This is carved into the very stars. Iran, China, even the arabs are all bystanders of this imperial suicide in motion. The real target is the West, committing seppuku on instructions by one faction, in order to birth the new – Ordo ab Chao. Trump and the Orange Camacho Gang are merely well-oiled belly dancers twirling around the dancing pole; a spectacle to match the crescendo and stage of Disintegration]
🔻 C5: I’m not a Trump supporter; I have no idea what that even means. Just about everything self-contradictory imaginable has come out of his mouth. He’s a pied piper representing an aligned group of Elites. Obviously they want an internal coup in Iran. Will it happen? Hopefully
🔻 WS: An “internal coup” in Iran must necessarily be predicated upon the decisive defeat and massive reduction of the power of the IRGC — and they will “not go gentle into that good night”.
🔻 Brandon: I am not advocating this. I am forecasting. But I am a huge Trump supporter so it is difficult for me to be critical. As you know.
[LOL. This is the poor man inspiring this thread. Will’s, and our, cherished punching bag]
🔻 C7: nah.. i’ll pass.
not interested in some neocon freakshow.
to entertain any part of this is to rationalize fascist behavior..
think i’ll take my dog for a walk and watch it shit.
which is what i think of Brandon Wiechert’s point of view
⭕ 📜 All for One and One for All
🔻 M.A.G.A. (Make America Go Away!): Russia has no interest in becoming “world cop”. Only a greedy hegemon like America wants that.An empty cliche sometimes has the power to mislead a simple mind into believing such a thing. Neither Russia nor China has any desire to control the world. I realize that is difficult for an American to understand, but it is clearly true.
🔻 WS: No nation on earth is capable of hegemonic global power projection. The brief dominion of the American Empire was unprecedented; the unique conditions that permitted its rise no longer obtain.Neither Russia nor China is capable of establishing and sustaining global hegemony.
🔻 C2: And Russia and China are smart enough to not want it.
[this is actually a universal truism, and well before the Greeks and Romans. Only dolts rush in where angels fear to tread. Says alot about Anglo-French-Zionazi elites….]
⭕ I think there is ZERO probability this Turkey/US/Israel-backed “rebel offensive” in Syria came as any surprise to the SAA and the Russians. The Syrians appear to have deliberately ceded Aleppo to the “rebels”.
Watch closely what develops over the next several days in Syria.
🔻 C1: Why would they cede largest city? My understanding is Syrian Army demobilzed to a large degree and Hezbollah went home…The Empire is letting the dogs out everywhere to stress Russia. Ukraine escalations, Georgia riots/wanna-be coup, Syria jihadis.
🔻 WS: If you understand the object of war, you readily cede a disadvantageous battleground in order to choose a different one that better suits your purposes.
🔻 C2: Not the second largest city. This isn’t swapping a plain to defend a hill instead. Losing a major city is disastrous.
🔻 WS: What is the object of war?
🔻 C2: When you lose your second largest city, you lose every resource in that city, including men that could have been mobilised, war materials, supplies, bases and the contents therein, et al. It’s a rout, not a tactical retreat.
🔻 WS: What is the object of war?
[crickets.. a hint: look at the suffocating sea of flags fluttering over the crowded cemeteries of 404]
🔻 C3: A great way to get rid of a constant thorn in their side would be to let them in, lock them in, and then move in and take them out.
🔻 WS: If you understand the object of war, you readily cede a disadvantageous battleground in order to choose a different one that better suits your purposes.
🔻 C3: How often have we seen the Russians do it in the last few years? Still, I suppose it gives the Western media a win of sorts in the headlines for a day or two.
🔻 C4: I don’t know man seems like too much 5D chess.Even if they weren’t completely surprised they weren’t ready. It doesn’t look good.
🔻 WS: What is the object of war?
🔻 C4: How is “giving up” Aleppo – the second largest city in Syria with a Citadel on a hill – more advantageous location than Idlib?
🔻 WS: Your question makes no sense to me. Assuming they deliberately abandoned Aleppo, it would suggest they DON’T want to fight there – or at least that they didn’t want to fight a mano-a-mano urban battle there. In any case, all I said is “Let’s see how things develop.”
🔻 C5: I’m done with the 4D chess explanations
🔻 WS: What “4D chess explanations” are you talking about? What is the object of war?
🔻graysenior: To inflict massive damage on your enemies which forces them to surrender or die on your terms and at a time of your choosing
🔻 C7: Destroy enemy forces in order to drive him back to negotiations on your terms. Or something like that. Probably more impressive sounding in German, or Chinese, or Latin.
🔻 MAGA (Make America Gay Again): the object of war is to kill all your enemy soldiers so that those who command the enemy comply with your terms of their surrender. the Russians should share with North Korea, Iran, and China the new Oreshnik missile technology.
🔻 C9: Is the attack on Aleppo more a consequence of Biden’s authorization for Ukraine to strike targets within Russia, or of the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon?
🔻 WS: I think it is an extremely underpowered act of desperation that will make headlines for a few weeks, and then rapidly disappear from the news cycle.
[I wish this were true! But we are in the End Game… plot twists a plenty ahead]
⭕ 🤡🌎 There are a great many people who sincerely believe Donald Trump understands markets, global trade, macroeconomics, and currencies.“Keep using the US dollar, or we’ll destroy it faster!”🤦♂️
[in response to:
🔻 Arnaud Bertrand:
The “mighty U.S. dollar” is apparently so “mighty” that you need to threaten countries so they don’t abandon it…BRICS countries should totally take him to his word and go ahead with this: 100% tariffs on BRICS products would actually further undermine the dollar. It’d reduce demand for it due to reduced trade, and it’d cause significant inflation in the US, also negative for the dollar. This is akin to saying “if you try to undermine the dollar, I’ll do it as well” 😅 ]
🔻 C2: This is precisely the type of bullying tactic that motivates countries to look for an alternative.
🔻 Arnaud Bertrand: Exactly
🔻 C3: Shhhh! Don’t criticise. Applaud. Let them do the ‘work’. Make america great again guys. ❤️🇺🇸
🔻 Arnaud Bertrand: 😅
🔻 C4: Not having access to ‘cheap shit from China’ will do the US good, eventually. It could use a diet, anyway.
🔻 Arnaud Bertrand: “Cheap shit from China”… like Apple products?
🔻 C5: What was your assessment of the international monetary policy of the first Trump admin?
🔻 WS: What “international monetary policy” are you talking about?
🔻 C6: He will unfreeze it AND use this threat against BRICS currency. Carrot and stick will both be used, not only one.I see a lot of signs that Trump and his core team are very clear about and committed to dismantling the Blob this time. And the swamp creatures kind of revealed themselves during his 4 years out of power.
🔻 WS: Delusional nonsense.AHH

⭕️ 🇸🇾 Syrian Armed Forces are successfully repelling terrorist attack and will soon launch counteroffensive – Syrian Armed Forces CommandThe Syrian Armed Forces are successfully and decisively repelling a terrorist attack and will soon launch a counteroffensive to liberate all territories, the Syrian Armed Forces Command said in a statement.
“The command of the army and armed forces confirms that the process of repelling the terrorist attack is proceeding successfully and decisively. Soon, a counteroffensive will take place to regain control over all areas and liberate them from the scourge of terrorism,” the statement read.
Syrian army reinforcements have arrived in Hama, and government operations are continuing as usual, according to the province’s governor Kamal Barmo. He also denounced reports of terrorist vehicles entering Hama as false. Earlier, the Syrian Defense Ministry dismissed claims about the entry of terrorist groups into cities in northern Hama province as untrue.
On Saturday, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad reiterated that Syria will continue defending its territorial integrity and is capable of defeating terrorists with the help of its allies and friends.
💠 @Yemen | Bab-el-Mandeb:
⭕ 🔻🔴 We have just received news from Syria indicating that Russian airstrikes have targeted and killed Abu Muhammad al-Julani, the leader of the al-Nusra Front, in Idlib. The Russian aerial assault specifically struck the operations center of the al-Nusra organization, where the group’s leader, Abu Muhammad al-Julani, along with senior officers from the Ukrainian and Turkish intelligence, were present.
⭕ 🔻🇾🇪 **Official Statement from the Yemeni Foreign Ministry in Sana’a:**We strongly condemn the attacks carried out by several armed terrorist organizations in the rural areas of Aleppo and Idlib in Syria.
These attacks are an extension of the conspiracy against Syria and serve the Zionist agenda in the region.
We call on the countries of the region to collaborate in order to build upon the progress achieved for a settlement in Syria and to prevent the situation from sliding into dire consequences.
We express the Republic of Yemen’s solidarity with the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic in facing the terrorist acts aimed at destabilizing security and threatening its unity and stability.

⭕ US and Israeli air strikes on Syrian army positions in Homs.
The empire is offering CAS (Close Air Support) to the “Jihadists” whom the Western media have never ceased to vilify, even though they are their own creation. [Homs is next major city south from Hama, from where come the reinforcements to Hama..]
⭕ Solid Syrian military counteroffensive in Deraa in the southwest on the border with the Golan. The terrorist hordes have suffered heavy losses. In the north, the situation is more complex: the Syrian counteroffensive from Hama has allowed to recapture some cities but the continuous flow of fighters from Idlib and the air strikes of the empire complicate the situation.
⭕ A ballistic missile launched from northern Yemen fell 25 km from Jerusalem.
⭕ This morning, the Syrian army was able to halt the onslaught of the Empire’s hounds on the governorate of Hama. (Photo taken this morning 0858Z)
⭕️ White House spokesman: “the United States has nothing to do with the rebel offensive in Syria”.It’s so ridiculous that they’ve lost all credibility. It’s a bit like Joe Biden clowning around in front of the cameras, pretending to walk like a robot between eight familiar expletives.
Washington is at total war in all theaters of operation, yet still manages to deny it. It’s Obama all over again.
⭕️ Iran’s Foreign Minister claims that the “takfiris” terrorists in Syria walk hand in hand with Washington and the Zionist terrorist entity without any complexes. They used to deny it. Now no one has anything to lose: terrorism is simply a tool of the empire.

The Pentagon’s Defense Security Cooperation Agency said the sale includes $320 million in spare parts and support for F-16 fighter jets and Active Electronically Scanned Array Radars, as well as related equipment.
The State Department also approved the potential sale to Taiwan of enhanced mobile subscriber equipment and support for an estimated $65 million, the Pentagon said.
⭕ 🇸🇾 Syria: Recent rumors that turned out to be false- Coup in Damascus: Syrian army reportedly fighting sleeper cells in Damascus
- Hama was taken by HTS: No, some would have managed to enter the city before immediately retreating outside.
- Syrian army walkie talkies exploding: this is also false.
⭕ 🇸🇾 Bashar al-Assad:
Syria will continue to defend its stability and territorial integrity against all terrorists and their supporters, and it is capable, with the help of its allies and friends, of defeating and eliminating them, no matter how intense their attacks may be.

💠 @ejmalrai:
⭕ People have shamelessly turned a blind eye to the daily crimes in Gaza. The hard-won support for the Palestinians over the past 13 months is being discarded as if it never mattered. In just 48 hours, sectarian language has resurfaced, polluting platforms and encouraging divisive narratives. Many who oppose Zionism are now falling into its arms. Well done!
⭕ The recent war in #Syria and its latest development in the last two years—its origins, the intricate dynamics between Russia and Israel, the Russia-Iran-Turkey-Syria relationship, the situation of Syrian refugees in Turkey, the rejection of President Assad to meet President Erdogan, the Israeli-US role, Hezbollah’s supply lines, the US-Israeli war on Hezbollah and so much more—is far too complex to be fully explained in a single article or even a series of tweets. I’ve written one today to address some aspects, and I’ll try to provide more context tomorrow and after. However, even if you’ve been following the conflict since its onset in 2011, understanding it all requires patience. Calm down, and don’t rush to conclusions based on every piece of information you encounter. The sheer volume of fake news is overwhelming—far more than anyone can realistically process. Syrian news sources and handlers are often aggressive and offensive, so it’s essential to handle all data with extreme caution.
To clarify the current situation, the Syrian army has withdrawn from Aleppo, Idlib, and surrounding rural areas without engaging in significant fighting. Despite the heightened tensions in its rural area, Hama did not fall, and the attacking forces failed to reach the city. Moreover, Damascus remains secure, with no immediate threats to the capital. Tomorrow is another day
⭕ Why #Hama hasn’t fallen?A natural barrier that the attacking forces have yet to reach: Jebel Zein al-Abedin is situated just south of Hama, overlooking the city and its rural surroundings. Its elevated position gives it critical military and observational advantages in the region. It has been used as a critical vantage point for Syrian government forces, particularly during conflicts in the Hama region, as it offers control over nearby routes and areas.
Government forces have often fortified the mountain and used it as a military base or outpost. Controlling Jebel Zein al-Abedin means securing the southern approaches to Hama, a city of considerable strategic and symbolic importance in Syria.
If you don’t know the geography and are interested in the news, use Google to understand the dynamics. It is impossible to respond to fake news.

💠 @DDGeopolitics:
⭕ 🇬🇪🇺🇸 On the flights of the American high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft over GeorgiaThe attempt to organize mass unrest in Tbilisi was surprisingly (not) coincided with the flight of the American high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft U-2S from the [British] Akrotiri air base [Cyprus], which operated over Georgia a few days ago.
It flew over Georgia for several hours and collected the necessary data on the events around. The installed ASARS-2B radar, with which the U-2S was equipped after modernization, allows it to do this at a distance of up to 300-320 km.
Moreover, the U-2S became one of the first American reconnaissance aircraft equipped with artificial intelligence to simplify the collection of intelligence data. This was talked about back in 2020, but they tested it in the Middle East only this year.
❗️Despite the age of this aircraft, it still represents great value for the US Air Force due to its ability to fly at an altitude of up to 21 km. And we believe that, in addition to Georgia, the U-2S also performed other tasks.
For example, it could easily assess the situation in the North Caucasian Federal District, where there are many of our military facilities that are daily in the sights of the space grouping of Western countries.
It also likely conducted surveillance of the northwestern regions of Iran. There, a joint exercise of Azerbaijan and Iran has just begun in the area of the settlement of Aslan Duz. Therefore, the non-standard flight of the U-2S bodes nothing good in the region, not only in the context of the Georgian unrest.
[Its gaze may also reach to Astrakhan’s Kapustin Yar missile range]

⭕️🔻 C1: Not sure why Turkey would be seen as behind this HTS offensive. Ankara has been trending toward reconciliation with Assad and Ankara’s main goal since 2016 has been to make the Syrian rebels a proxy against the SDF; not to fight Assad. Ankara systematically weakened the SNA. Of Ankara had wanted them strong then the SNA would be leading the attack. Ankara will likely use them to attack Kurds. That’s all Ankara ever does
🔻 EM: I would delete this. Check the Noureddine Zinki groups’ affiliation and participation in Aleppo. They are, with Turkmenistan and Uzbeq, the spearhead of the attack.

BlockedThis offensive, besides basic vindictiveness and hatred against Syrians and working to murder more of them, and another futile attempt to cut off Hezbollah from the land bridge to Iran, appears to be directed at three important psychological targets:
- to suicide Turkey against the Axis of Resistance and Russia. Turkey is finally coming off the fence. This was guaranteed to happen anyway. And for Russia and Islamic Resistance to openly join hands. It has now exposed Erdogan (the fool was seduced with promise of neo-Ottoman return to Vilayet Syria and Iraq, like their hey days)
- to humiliate Russia. After their Victory in 404 and unveiling of Oreshkin, this PsyOp, which includes risible videos right now of their troops lynched and killed around Aleppo, is to make them look impotent in West Asia. And this will give pause to the GCC from committing further to BRICS. More delay for the building of multipolar world.
- to bolster internal zionazi polity, which is despairing after defeats in both Gaza and Lebanon. All zionazi TV channels are running these atrocities and NATO-proxy rapid entrance into Aleppo and elsewhere. It distracts them from their own fate and circumstances. They suck up the dark energy from their satanic fellow-travellers’ transient successes elsewhere. This is same reason they need to continue murdering Palestinians every single day – it gives their side a psychic satisfaction to see dead and dismembered innocents live every single day. How sad for satanists! What a diseased existence, devoid of love, honor, contentedness, or basic inner peace every single day. And reliant on murder and mayhem for self-worth and a night’s good sleep

[he links the following:]
🔻 Sony Thang:
🇷🇺SERGEY LAVROV:“The collective West has long been using information warfare techniques to distort information in order to get ahead with its dirty geopolitical plots.
I’d like to share a historical anecdote with you.
There’s a letter written by Bishop Beilby Porteus of London, in which he had the following to say about the religion for slaves toiling on the Caribbean sugar plantations:
‘Prepare a short form of public prayer, together with select portions of Scripture, particularly those which relate to the slave duties toward the master.’
Prayer alone was not enough.
In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, a special Bible for the British colonies, Select Parts of the Holy Bible for the Use of the Negro Slaves in the British West-India Islands, was published, also known in the world biblical studies as The Slave Bible.
They took 90 percent of the Old Testament and 50 percent of the New Testament out of it.
In order to enslave the souls and minds of millions of slaves, the forefathers of today’s Western liberals censored the Holy Scriptures, and removed sections of it that could instill in the slave labourers’ minds the idea that all people are equal before God.
The Slave Bible had been published in London since the early 19th century. Little has changed since then.
The Kiev regime operates under direct control of the Anglo-Saxons and their NATO satellites, and acts in line with British colonial practices.
It uses many modern-day ultra-liberal Western ideology techniques. Cancel culture is one such technique.
The systematic rewriting and falsifying by Ukrainian propagandists of their own past, including blotting out entire chapters from history textbooks, is part of that approach.
The entire Western-controlled media sphere is a Slave Bible of sorts.
In this day and age, the Anglo-Saxon public relations agencies carry out such neo-colonial practices.
The Anglo-Saxons own news corporations that enjoy global reach, operate in conjunction with a ramified network of lobbyists, and conduct information campaigns to advance their owners’ self-serving interests.
Their key objective is to create an aura of mass-scale support for the neoliberal policies pursued by Washington and London, and to cut audiences off of the sources of alternative information.”

🔻 C8: Indeed, Khazars & Uyghurs are Turkic peoples and their languages are quite intelligible to modern Turkish speakers. If you know Turkish, you can easily order food or shop in the local languages from Istanbul all the way to Hami in China, covering over 4,000 kms as the crow flies.Erdogan is very unpopular in Europe while he enjoys very strong support among Turkey’s working population: farmers, ‘blue collar’, small biz owners and those with informal jobs.
He implemented policies that primarily benefitted his supporters over the past 20 years first as the prime minister then after as the president. However, post pandemic, his insistence on providing cheap credit to small entrepreneurs really messed up the economy.
While it’s unclear whether the US had any direct involvement, Erdogan is certainly not very popular in some circles. A major snub to the US came during the second Iraq war, when he was newly in power and his parliament narrowly voted against hosting American troops.
The vote was 264 in favour and 250 against, just shy of the legal majority needed. From that point on, relations with the US went kind of downhill. Generally functional with occasional snubs but never particularly strong as it was before.
About 30% of Iran’s population is ethnically Turkish, predominantly the northern part (not so supportive of the regime) and Russia also has a sizeable Turkic population called Tatars. Our border with Iran was settled in 1515 and have remained unchanged for 500 years. Complicated.
🔻 WS: From my admittedly underinformed perspective, it appears the Turks are not very concerned about the potential consequences of making enemies of their two powerful civilizational neighbors (Russia and Iran).Given the ascendancy of the Russia / China / Iran axis, and the decline of the US/NATO, it seems to me Turkiye is not discerning the direction of the geopolitical winds.
But perhaps I simply lack sufficient understanding to form a correct interpretation of current events.

⭕ 🔥 And the Flames Went Higher …So, in bold defiance of the indisputably impressive Oreshnik missile strike, the US and its Ukrainian orderlies launched 13 more ATACMS missiles into Russia.
The Russians claim to have shot down 10 of them, and candidly acknowledge the loss of an S-400 radar unit and its crew.
The Russian MoD also reported today that, in immediate retaliation to the November 25th attacks, 5 ATACMS launch vehicles were destroyed by a volley of Iskander missiles.
More concerningly, additional Iskander strikes were directed against apparently known concentrations of US/NATO personnel in Ukraine.
The Russian Ministry of Defense matter-of-factly claims that ~40 Americans and ~9 French personnel were “neutralized” in these strikes.
It is obviously “open season” on US/NATO personnel in Ukraine. And you can bet they still number well into the hundreds, at least.

‘The ratification of the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between our countries confirms the bilateral interest in the integrated development of allied relations. We are grateful for the commitment to the course of expanding ties with Russia,’ said Andrei Belousov during the talks with President of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK Kim Jong Un.
At the same time, he emphasised that ‘today North Korea is one of the few countries that pursues an absolutely independent foreign policy. Undoubtedly, Kim Jong Un, this is solely your merit,’ said the Russian Defence Minister. He conveyed to the DPRK leader ‘friendly greetings and best wishes from Russian President Vladimir Putin.’
🤝 The Russian Defence Minister stressed that history of the two countries’ combat brotherhood spans almost eight decades. Andrei Belousov noted that the friendship and cooperation between the two countries ‘were strengthened during the liberation of Korea in 1945, in the battles of the Korean War of 1950-1953’.
‘Next year, Russia and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea will mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War and the liberation of Korea from Japanese occupation,’ said the Russian Defence Minister. Russia expects a positive decision on the invitation to send a unit of the DPRK armed forces to Moscow to take part in the military parade on Red Square on 9 May.
The Russian military leader said he was honoured to meet the DPRK leader in person. ‘I thank you for the traditionally warm welcome given to the Russian delegation,’ said Andrei Belousov.

BlockedThanks for excellent summary of status to date. Justin and Jon in video above of the ceasefire also consider it a unilateral ceasefire by Zion, forced by desperation.
It may be more subtle. I remember reading Hezbollah saying Nabi Berri, the fellow Shia (Amal movement) and decades-long Speaker of their Parliament, spoke for them since the murder of Nasrallah. And the Zio-USUK cessation was with him and the official Lebanese compradore government. Magnier also considers it a bilateral ceasefire, using this middleman.
The beauty is that Hezbollah publicly has neither accepted nor refused. All fully expect this to be a very short break in war. The ambiguity of Hezbollah’s stance works to add pressure. This forces the west to also keep their forces deployed in the north Palestine / southern Lebanon, preventing a return to finish off Gaza. A treacherous faithless group will expect the other side to betray them too, and so will need to remain on high defense posture, forcing them to self-maintain the Siege of Zion.
So put in another way, and why all celebrate Hezbollah’s Victory — they obtained the cessation for a break needed by all WITHOUT diminishing an iota their support front to Gaza. And most amazing without needing to fire a bullet this time, unlike the preceeding year+.
Meanwhile Yemen and Iraq promise to compensate for drop in Hezbollah’s barrage, not to mention Operation True Promise III en route. Let the hyenas squirm and pretend to flail about in Syria. They remain pinned down as heavily as a week ago
