I am flabbergasted day by day by the developments in Israel, and also by the west reacting on it. Emotions are running high, and the west is getting carried away so easily, that without getting full grip on it yet, I have an uneasy feeling that the west is stepping into an enormous trap. A trap that also may have a short fuse into a possible outcome that nobody really should want.

And being at crossroads of continents and the prime real estate on earth, they have represented among them all human tribes. A true astonishing variety, from sub-Saharan African blacks to blondes with blue eyes (Germanic, Nordic and Caucasian tribes who migrated over last two-three thousand years). It is after all the Holy Land calling out to all.

So at essence, Hamas in Gaza, as elsewhere for all the beautiful variety of Palestinians, is a national liberation effort. Different factions use different tools and approaches. Know the game of the enemy.

my beloved is closer now than before.  but when he departed i couldn’t feel him.  we had been so in tune with each other to know what the other was doing, thinking, dreaming, where they were without words or a glance. we had assumed that would never be broken, not even in death but that it would always be connected & intact.

when i explained to a healer that i couldn’t see or feel him,  she told me, matter of factly, ‘he’s there, you just aren’t picking up on it.  you’re too caught up in yourself.’

i left the session angry.   @ the first crosswalk i stopped for a trunk turning, old & beat up & completely unfamiliar but welcoming in the way of old slippers or some forgotten towns.  the driver was a very pretty very young woman, absolutely happy.  she had glida hair & a gilda smile.  she rolled her window all the way down & shouted across to me, ‘hello there!  is your name emerson?’

i simply nodded, shocked for all sorts of reasons.

gilda leaned out of her window & handed me a bouquet of 2 dozen mercedes roses.  ‘then here—these are for you.’

i continued to stand there.  she leaned further out the window–‘i don’t know why but i suddenly had a compulsion to buy them & give them to a woman named emerson.  i thought it might be hard to find you but it was dead simple.’  & she laughed & drove away.

my beloved departed always gave me flowers on friday.  & yes it was a friday.  & on a very special friday, he brought 2 doz mercedes roses almost as perfect as those.

after that he has never been anywhere but with me, closer than we ever were.

I wanted to comment briefly on this; ‘he’s there, you just aren’t picking up on it. you’re too caught up in yourself.’

This smacks of a lack of empathy from someone who’s supposed to demonstrate sensitivity acc. to their station, but I would like to add that our loved ones, knowing us better then anyone else, pick and choose the right time to make their love, presence and whatever else they wish to communicate to us known at a time of their choosing, this usually being when the wave of heightened emotion recedes to some extent.

What I learnt, and continue to learn from my experience, is that, even though they are on the other side, they remain aware of events/occurances out here, but generally appear to have a more detached view while maintaining their end of the exchange of love, even though the nature of the love must transform to some extent.

The wonderful thing is that the bond of love between Souls continues throughout time (since the nature of that love, if true, has its origin in a “nameless, placeless place” to quote Rumi), which implies that we will indeed meet again in another context when the “time is again ripe”.

Thx for your posts here, and I would like to also tip my hat to our friend, ‘ahh’, for keeping this ship afloat and moving. The man is a wonder.

The difficulties that the Israeli army may encounter in the future may leave their mark on the conduct of a ground operation.
A significant portion of IDF soldiers and reservists have not been trained to fight in an urban environment, or this training is no longer sufficient. For example, under normal conditions, IDF soldiers expect their flanks to be covered, a secure rear, and stable communications with command and neighboring units. However, in urban battles such conditions will not exist. In the case of the IDF, units prepared for operations in urban areas can be found in the YAMAM police special forces and other anti-terrorism groups, but for the most part the IDF is poorly prepared for a full-scale war in the city.

It is necessary to prepare for battles in such conditions, both individually and collectively. The Israeli army does not have such massive training, and there was nowhere for it to appear since operations of this scale had not been planned for many years.

What are the features of battles in an urban environment?
Urban combat is three and even four-dimensional. Every soldier must expect that an attack will come not only from the front, rear or flanks, but also from above or below. In addition, by indiscriminate bombing of the Gaza Strip, the IDF created (or at least aggravated) another problem – it increased the motivation of the local population for armed struggle. I’m stunned and utterly impressed by what Shahid Bolsen has to say in this latest talk that he offered when asked what message he would have for the Israeli people. I never saw it this way before, and I think he’s completely correct.

The Israeli people, he says, should see the trick played on them by the Zionists and the USA – both of which have always hated the Jews and still do now – the Jewish people should see through this trick, using that great “brain we hear so much about”, and reject Zionism, and simply live in peace with the only people who ever gave them refuge and wanted to live in peace with them: the Palestinians and the neighboring Arabs.

The US and the Zionists are “anti-Semitic” (as the term is used) and always have been and still are, says Bolsen. The US is not a friend to Israel or an ally. The US is Israel’s worst enemy, using it purely as a policy instrument, to keep the money flowing to its own MIC.

I’ve been amazed at many things he’s said but this one blows me away – and shreds much of the hatred that I’ve gathered for the people being gamed into performing the evil that comes next in Gaza. As always, its a class war between the privileged of this world and all the rest of us.

Yes, I agree to a point. It is a class war. However, “is there a US” anymore? The US is as destroyed as Israel.. something is at work above the state level, or stateless, consuming both.

The Jews also appear to know the score.. my father had a rabbi acquaintance who once confided to him their deepest fear of US Christians. I assume he meant evangelicals.

And Bolsen assumes the value system they use in Palestine is the Torah… that appears a minority now. And many of those Jews that do so are as persecuted as arabs — some of Orthodox who were protesting Gaza’s collective punishment this week; I saw videos of police attacking them. Rather the Talmudic faction is dominant, the ones openly calling the arabs non-humans. They cannot be reasoned with.

Then there is the conditioning at work on the jews for generations, quite terrible. I used to read and see (decades ago!) entire families coming on weekends on hills overlooking Gaza with their picnics and beach chairs to enjoy the bombing of the overcrowded concentration camp. (!!)

These are not normal people anymore. We could also say both groups use each other  — the US gets to blame a rabid proxy that morphed into a monster, and the Israelis get to blame a decadent and cruel Empire in order to indulge dark passions.. a well-matched pair indeed.

In much of the world, there exists the belief that the USA serves Israel and is controlled by Zionists. It is thought the US government will do anything to save and protect Israel no matter the cost. Many Israelis believe that too.

A rational, comparative assessment of the US/Israel relationship reveals a different picture. The USA is not Israel’s saviour but its worst enemy. The USA treats Israel with absolute contempt. Netanyahu holds more responsibility than anyone in Israel for prolonging and worsening conflict with the Palestinians. He has made a career diverting attention away from domestic concerns that actually matter to Israelis, by endlessly talking about security and the supposed threats faced by Israel. The domestic problems just get worse and so does the security situation (which is by design).

The US loves this, because they don’t care about Israel’s domestic, socioeconomic issues or the disparity and corruption that plagues society there. All that matters to the US is continuing the strife and conflict. Stability, welfare and safety of Israelis means nothing to the US. Israelis want their country to function like any other. They believe their lives and concerns should matter like in any other developed country. For the US however, Israel is nothing but a policy instrument. Israelis and their concerns do not matter.

Israel’s relationship with the US has been incredibly detrimental to Israel, preventing it from becoming a normal society. Part of that is driven by diaspora Jews who like most diaspora communities are generally far more radical and ideological than their people back home.

This diaspora in the West, particularly in the US enriches certain people, who exploit Jewish emotional attachment to Israel by funding pro-Israel lobbies. These mostly serve US policy interests and make Israel a vehicle for endless cash flow to American defence companies, and an offshore R&D hub for the Pentagon.

The US has never wanted Israel to be at peace with her neighbours. They’ve never wanted Israel to integrate into the region. That’s not Israel’s function as far as the US is concerned. The fact that regional integration is in the best interest of the Israeli population and is the only way for it to become a normal society, doesn’t matter to the US.

The Collective West and the US in particular are using Israel against the interests of its own people. The only way for Israel to ever progress as a society is to dislodge itself from the US and the West and to integrate properly into the region. Until that happens, their domestic or security issues will never be resolved, and Israel will remain a US policy tool.

In the process, Israelis lose both their lives and their souls. Israelis are constantly pushed to do things against their own religious and moral beliefs. Against their own humanity. Pushed to do things for which they are seen as monsters by the world, particularly by their neighbours.

Israel should be a Middle Eastern country, belonging to the Global South with which it should share its values and priorities. Operating since its inception as the Western colonial project, it falsely sees itself as a Western nation. As such and with its oppressive apartheid-like system, moving forward Israel will never be able to develop into a normal country.

The only real way forward is a one-state solution, incorporating all of the occupied territories and all the inhabitants of those territories into one country, with equal citizenship rights. Yes, that will mean that Israel will have a Palestinian majority and will no longer be a so-called Jewish state. It may however finally be able to become a normal, healthy society.

AHH, yes, I agree with what you’re saying, but for me the great value in Bolsen’s words lies in the moral dimension that has been missing for some years. He’s putting the moral value back into the equation.

It is indeed a matter of if the Israelis are too far gone to reclaim their humanity. This is why they’ll lose if they try to genocide the Palestinians any more than they have already. The Israelis can’t kill the Palestinians without adhering to evil, whereas the Palestinians can kill the Israelis and still retain their virtue.

I think it’s always important to know which side of the moral balance you’re on, because we can all of us drift or be seduced across that line.

So perhaps this is the end of Israel, and perhaps all that will remain are those Jews who will ask to live in peace in sovereign Palestine, and the nation will heal itself. And all the Israelis who leave will come to North America – after being thrown out of yet another country for being obnoxious and evil – and then the people of North America will increasingly come to know what it feels like to be Palestinian. As indeed has already been happening – but we ain’t seen nothing yet.

In my daily practice, there is an element of prayer, and lately I’ve included the Gazans in my prayers, and also as an afterthought told myself I have to include the Israelis also. But now, after Bolsen’s gift of that perspective, I find that I truly can pray for the Israelis, to throw off their inhumanity and reclaim themselves as human – knowing that the trap of inhumanity is one that we all can fall into, and be tricked into, and this is the condition of today’s Israelis, but to an unknown degree. The next weeks may show that degree. But there is hope, there is a moral compass that offers hope and aspiration, and so prayers are not wasted.

His complete audio-visual is more powerful. Like us, he has been tormented by this issue for decades, repugnant really to any decent human being. And his thoughtful and incisive and logical tone provides deeper context.. this issue is really at heart of the dividing line between imperialism and multipolarity. It MUST be solved for not only peace to arrive in West Asia, but all aggrieved worldwide to move on. It is last vestige of open western colonialism, defeated every where else on earth! Of course, all the diplomats, organizers, and negotiators are frantically trying to find a way to send the things, there are over 2,000 tons of aid in Sinai hoarded and waiting to be sent, maybe they can agree to something through the last remaining two hours, who knows.

I have to fight my own anger to remember that the true goal here is for Russia, China and Iran to lower the hegemon to his knees gently, as he falls – like dealing with the drunk at a party – without knocking anything over, or waking the drunken imbecile into clumsy rage, or spoiling the party. This is the task we’ve seen Russia at for several years, now joined by China, and lately by Iran.

So, even as the blood flows and the sinews strain for justice against the Israeli savage, it will be best if the major powers can calm this situation.

Israel, however, has destroyed itself by its Zionist brutalities. It will take a lot of good Jews speaking up after this, to prevent the old stereotypes being applied across the board to the whole tribal culture worldwide. There is still a chance for this, I think.

But the ground is where it matters most. It seems to me that after the victory of Hamas, the obvious strategic goal for the Palestinians now must be to reclaim territories that were thought lost; for Syria to reclaim its lands and ultimately evict the occupying thieves; for Israel to face a barrage of criticism from the world for being a blood-simple savage.

If the situation calms, the region will understand that it can take similar actions as Hamas and actually take territory – slice away at the occupier. If it doesn’t calm, then the region will prove this all at once. It’s Israel’s choice for how it wants to end, either very soon or a little later, over time.

Iran’s preference, as Ishchenko states, is for a death by thousand cuts that wears down and eventually evicts the US from West Asia, and this can now also be applied to Israel.

It must be the case that with Blinken on board and others coming, Israel can act tough and angry and not show its absolute fear, as the others try to restrain its perceived anger. But one day the carrier group will leave, and only Israel’s fear will remain.

⚡️If the war between Hezbollah and Israel explodes then I suspect the promise that Netanyahu has been given is that the US will use its air power to try and attack Hezbollah. That will mean though that the American presence in northern Syria will most likely come under attack immediately  and most likely get wiped out or forced to surrender. The same is true for the presence they have left in Iraq. Their puppet rulers in Jordan and Morocco would face a mass uprising and/or possible military coups. Even the Turkish and the Saudi reactionaries would be forced into a corner by such a move, facing enraged populations and a possible revolt even inside their own ruling circles. In short, it would be extremely damaging for US imperialisms interests in the region.

On the other hand though if they allow Israel to fall to defeat and possible collapse then it will also severely damage their ability to project power in the Middle East and have devastating political consequences domestically in the US as well. The survivor was from the “rave” Nature party and sought refuge in the Kibbutz. This story sounds plausible when considering the high number of civilians killed is disproportionate to Israeli security forces casualties.

Many bloggers are writing about the Protocol Hannibal or Hannibal Directive, adopted by the Israeli army after the earlier instances of exchange of Palestinians for Isreali hostages, when they were able to retrieve 1,000 of their fighters in return for a single Israeli soldier. According to this protocol, allegedly, Israeli security forces will shoot the hostages first if they can, rather than let them get into the hands of the “terrorists”.

Hamas may have wanted to rescue all the female Palestinians languishing in Israeli prisons, so this may explain why they took even Israeli women and children hostages. They thought they could exchange maybe 100 people for a couple of thousand people. What Hamas didn’t count on, apparently, is that the Israeli government no longer cares about their own people, they are just a bunch of maniacs!

@Sudhi, yes I believe that story too. We’ve seen the clip that Syrian Girl posted showing how the Israeli forces were shooting from within the rave, and AHH at the time said he’d seen several such posts.

What’s remarkable to me is how quickly the story of a Hamas “massacre of the innocents” arose immediately after the Hamas action began – it was the first word that seemed to come to the west, even in alternative media. Many commentators have made otherwise good analyses of the situation but still on the basis that Hamas committed atrocities from the beginning, i.e. as part of their campaign tactics. But there was never film of any of this.

And nothing about a “Hamas atrocity” makes any sense. They are not terrorists, they are insurgents. Their principal mission was to demonstrate how they could break out of the prison, take hostages and return with them alive to use as negotiation. Killing them would be pointless, and as for taking the time to rape or brutalize them these fighters were on a tightly planned mission – random mayhem was not their goal.

So, yes, Israeli players opened the gate wider than Hamas had to fight through – but they neglected to tell IDF it was happening, and IDF immediately fell apart, given Hamas the room to proceed farther than they probably planned. So, Khamenei is correct (as he always is) that the great achievement was the disgrace of IDF and Israeli combat reputation.
