An epiphany — Kubrick was doubly mocking in Dr. Strangelove. Primarily of the mad leadership of his era, but also of the coming truly deranged era. This article, with its amazing data, makes clear Dr. Strangelove’s sub-title anticipated these loony days. Like Kiev partying non-stop whilst getting missiled almost regularly and the entire Ukrainian lower class men being buried, the current generations in the West do not make much fuss as they do not take nukes seriously (!!)

      Sabotage in US 1917

And they say grain silos too. Ah, this is the terrible History, Carlin’s Freak Show, and deeply disassociative for some…as in der verfremdungseffekt . Sometimes I feel like a time traveler…and well, we are, eh?

Listening to Elmer Davis, propaganda voice Mother and Father heard…the 1938 stuff through the postwar stuff, 1946 especially. I suppose I’m more attached to the past now, unlike many of my Friends here, who are looking to the future a bit with hope, longing, and a well-founded optimism. Nevertheless the old propaganda broadcasts inform particularly the people who are founded in the real history. I recommend Elmer, with salt! Comrade. Gives some complex sorts of background grasps… and gasps! And the implications… (!)

      Elsewhere in 1917

Elmer is the autio, btw, mentions the Claims Commission…and the bigbucks the nazis had to caugh up… John McCoy… later on the Warren Commission, was the self-made richphucklawyer who made the big score…@ 2:30 in > https://youtu.be/8fkAGM9y080

It could be a coincidence, but the explosion of those grain silos after the last weeks of (1) panicked Turk requests to continue the Ukie Grain Deal, (2) Borrell’s laser focus lately to focus on the same, (3) several Turk grain ships enroute under the Kerch bridge found with explosives residue. What gives!

Mercouris thinks Europeans are panicked since reliant on this Ukie grain. Nonsense. Even now, with Ukie ports outta comission, they are having Ukies truck corn feedstock through Poland for their livestock, not wheat for humans. The eugenicist scum could care less about humans, including European.

But the Turks and those explosive residues… what was going on in Nazi Ukraine?? If it is criminal, such as human organs or trafficking humans or weapons or killing or sabotage, the nazis preferred it. And the Turks were responsible for policing Ukies! Like the fox supervising the wolf! So something significant was interrupted, and likely war related, given the urgency voiced by Borrell and Erdogan.

Perhaps the residue accidentally went off.. perhaps Russkies, tormented by the hyenas’ seadrones and their payloads in the Black Sea lately, helped combustion along?? 😅 Why couldn’t some of the motherships of these drones be the Turk grain ships rather than the Danube? NATO has access to Turkey, and arranged it even without Turk permission.

As Medvedev said, the nazis only understand force and pain.

Perhaps it was Empire — to interrupt the INSTC. Was Turkey connected to it?? Why not? Note their ideal location and food processing niche. Note the Turk grain ships caught with residue were caught headed towards the Sea of Azov!!

The great part of Ukie grain given to Turkey had been milled and sent back to Europe. I bet the Turks were turned by the Russkies and it was being sent to new customers in Africa, of interest to both Turks and Russians who favor these new relations. Most of Russia’s grain is in the south, near Turkey. Turkey could have remained the middleman and helped with refining for the recipient poor customers. And Russia’s record harvest this year would benefit from Turk milling help.

But the Usual Suspects can’t have Africa being fed…

If the latter theory is correct, we yet return to the new problem with attacking oil tankers. The qualitative escalation attacking the fuel and now the food of others continues! We await the heavenly thunderbolts and the hellish chasms which open underfoot!

OK. Perhaps the Turkey grain blast is directed foremost at Turkey itself. A stacked function in addition to Africa.

I saw Sudhi’s link (above image) which indicates this depot held “…up to 8 million tons of wheat, barley, legumes, chickpeas and lentils and has been highly stocked to lessen the impact of war.” Very bad news for Turkey. 13 of 16 national stores kaput.

Beirut was attacked in a similar way a few years ago, atomizing the national grain storage in the harbor. They’ve been living hand to mouth since, quite food insecure. The first Ukie grain shipment after the Grain Deal started in July 2022 headed to Lebanon.. Turkey is being attrited in a similar way. You lie with rabid street dogs, you wake with fleas…

Turkey was barely holding it together after years of currency wars, inflation approaching Argentinian levels of 100%, a huge pop of 85M+, and chronic governmental subsidies to avoid internal chaos. This may be a simple effort to genocide them and juice collapse of Erdoganistan. Bastards!

PS — The WEF’s Dark Winter appears to be rolled out worldwide. And this twitter/nitter thread is being censored inside USA?? My VPN tuned to USA wouldn’t show it…

Yes, maybe accident, however that begs question, what’s an accident? In many aspects modern “large stationary machines” such as refineries, grain silos, power stations and most other nifty stuff reside at apex of a support base pyramid… These “machines” then have a foundation. Like Steinbeck’s “dynamo”, they wreck themselves – sometimes with no hand. Simply not doing dust control blower belt replacement might cause “accident”. btw in some machines the belts are special non-sparking…something as trivial as saving a dollar by buying the cheaper sorts is like tossing a match. I can’t imagine that the wrights at the locus in quo were well-paid and well-staffed, with everything ship-shape. Not competent repairs – I have been called in after fires and discovered cause was incorrect bearing replacement, for example, and called in other times and discovered cause was careless operation – not working…just letting it run and smoke to ignition-explosion.  Is not doing an accident? OSHA goes on about dust and housekeeping… so not doing…

At River longtimeago acquainted with fascistazzwhole retired arson cop. (He quit the police when SF bought cop cars sans cigarette lighter, which, he said, was previously used (generally on the face or nose) to enhance field-confessions from men and women he saw as contemptible  untervolk.) West to the cop part of the fire department.  So? This finefella said many times that about half of fires in his experience were arson. I myself return to the original question…

Even a small charge would if placed properly, deep I suppose) create a dust cloud, with secondary explosion. Two stage bangs happen… even inside large engines in ships…see http://machineryspaces.com/explosion-relief-valve.html  (these prevent, one hopes, the secondary bang)

      I don’t buy “accident”.

Note Yellow Freight Lines in USA kaputski. That was a large dynamic machine, also on foundation of deteriorating stability. Accident and coincidences in supply occur not only in Turkey. (Since Rus needs thousands of truck drivers right now, we speculate that a few of the Yellow Freight drivers have some Russian… lotta fellas from India drive US trucks… highly amusing to imagine that in a year or two they’ll roll on Ruskieroads.) US cities are highly vulnerable to supply “accidents”. We might speculate as to why “infrastructure” is not maintained properly…bridges and railroads might be a place to investigate motivations to “postpone” repairs… Spooky action happens, but most stuff is by obvious agency…so not accident.

The perspective I get from the news and propaganda, together with a bit of background reading, leads me to see the present conflict as in phase “skirmish”, the resolution and post bellum conditions are, I think, years away. Deagel… And the actual LeMay… his theory of war was to kill the opponent until there were so few remaining that they could no longer fight back, iirc.  https://youtu.be/E1NV0MDXw7o  @ 00:36 +  and @ 3:29 “Buck, Honey, I’m not sleepy either” is a favote Mrs P likes very much!)

I’d look for nitrate residue…simply based on the images. A quick study of properly investigated peace-time silo explosions might be interesting too. The images do not suggest to my eye a “natural” accident.

Inevitably the imagination works.. So I am sorry to say that taking the scene on the globalhomascale such failures in foundational machines, silos, bridges, may be liable to take place in Omaha, or along the Mississippi Valley, or in Kansas City…with the effect of raising grain prices, the old rente gag we know from Uncle Marx, and reducing the troublesome deplorables’ tendency to disobedience.

I have been studying the Military Miners of WW1… on one splendid day the Brits detonated 40,000 pounds of bangerstauf under the German positions… claim 10,000 dead. The miners worked under appalling conditions. Many remain buried in collapsed tunnels deep under the fields.

adding > In one of the videos at https://maritime-executive.com/index.php/article/video-explosion-rips-through-turkish-grain-port    One can see the beginning of the destruction. Point of ignition. They say that the work underway was unloading 404 wheat from 404 ship to the silo… so? It’s unclear how the wheat was being handled…clam-shell bucket is one way…another is bucket elevator. Thence to belts and so on. Either way it is easily imagined that there was a mine amongst the material. So not only naziwheat, nazi ship, but also ship was unloading…and they say there are handy explosives rather easy to lay hands upon. Having run combines harvesting wheat in peaceful Kansas I judge it impossible that an explosive could have innocently got caught up without detonating in the harvesting machinery. However…

      Latest article by Rostislav Ishchenko:
      “SVO: Goal awareness”
      https://ukraina.ru/20230808/1048567312.html
“There has never been and will never be a more dangerous movement for Russia than that of Ukraine. This is gangrene that eats away at the organism of a single people from within, but even when separated, it does not try to take care of itself, but seeks to destroy Russia or Ukrainize it all the way to Chukotka.

Therefore, and only for this reason (because any remaining Ukraine will feel like a winner who has retained independence and strive for territorial revenge) I believe that no matter how and what the end of the SVO, Ukraine should cease to exist forever after it. If we can’t digest it all at once, it’s better to share it with our neighbors (including Belarus, by the way) rather than leave at least one tiny island of independence. Let them create an independent Ukraine in Canada (if Canadians don’t care about their own country).

We are incredibly lucky that Ukraine is resisting so fiercely and does not allow us to complete the CDF with some intermediate peace. Only this resistance gives us hope that, even if not according to a pre-planned plan, but simply by the will of circumstances, the Russian leadership will eventually be forced to eliminate Ukraine as a state, Ukrainism, as an idea and Ukrainian spirit, as a carrier of a deadly infection-comparable to biological weapons that selectively act only on Russians, but also on the Russian people.”

Yes, Sudhi,  this is, I believe, a true thing. [eliminate] “… Ukraine as a state, Ukrainism, as an idea and Ukrainian spirit, as a carrier of a deadly infection-comparable to biological wea…”

Where does this ideology reside other than zone 404? and what gangs are sending money? Some might imagine that the source of this infection lies outside zone 404, Ahem… How to cut a cancer when the cells are financed from outside the corpus?

404 can be done for anytime, best by degrees, but anytime…where’s the eminence grise with the cash?

Not that I object to the fine fellas and, ah, persons in 4o4 HQ and their Plan for world domination and population culling…not at all! It’s quite splendid…Give it you finest effort, please!  But this does not alter the logic, does it? (hi fellas!, take a break, do a line or whatever)

…..I am amused to hear learned naval experts say ruski – china ships have/has never before come to US waters (Alaska stuff with the grey ships, and Chinese voyages history). How nice. Say Generaladmirilofficer: Did they also teach buggery? Or was the entire canon total krap?

      “All is mine,” said gold;
“All is mine,” said the sword.
      “I’ll buy everything,” said gold;
      “I’ll take everything,” said Bulat.
      – A. S. Pushkin
      (“Gold and Sword”, 1826)

“Before us is the historical dispute of Bulat and Zlata. Remember? I’ll buy everything, said Zlato, I’ll take everything, said Bulat. Money on the one hand, authority and power on the other. Differently – consumption and ministry. Now we are dominated by money. They are the goal, they are the main thing. Why does a man go to the governors? I have to, in order to serve Russia, but have a good salary from him, so that … not to be distracted from business. But money is not the goal. Are there such people in power? Of course. But there are those who go to power for money.” :

Astonishingly Brother Hal Turner to-night gives a solid outline of the actual real history and the details… Niger and Vickie-the Well-Nourished  and the crooked fascist ride war by war… A Fine Job Bother! He even mentions the smack dollars and Chicago and Niger dollarwashingcooks…the gas pipe…graft to the Big Guy even   Hal’s getting close to the bone. He had a non hysterical night. He may be a fink, and I’m glad he’s somewhere else, but I kinna like the cat.

(I think maybe Hal has overdone it… he has an audience. Recalling Orwell and the quote about telling truth…)

The visit to their old Territorial Sea Alaskazone by Reds, with their Chinese comrades amuses >  relevant old propaganda film https://youtu.be/ZbWeQPUWynA  Reds and Yanks as allies in W2 and at sea… worth watch imho. Evidently Great Naval Experts are unaware that Ruski Fleets occupied both US coasts to interfere with the British interference in the US political dispute known as the northern war of aggression…Anyway the film is interesting in terms of cinema-graphic character and style. Also Historic images. Good in silence first. Then with voice. It does not align with the mythic fogs of spume’d lies of to-day, eg not pc. BTW that series was presented endlessly on the new to all TV system in US…back in day. Formative then, forgotten now, mostly.

Sudhi, your Pushkin> Yes indeed. It may be that the best is to train up a system to create high quality leaders by design. Seems to me that’s essential; to identify the moral motivations of “students” and track the morally lesser into activities that do not reward their corrupt ambitions, but do reward…just keep them away from power and wealth, keep an eye on them…while of course promoting the selfless and capable…the quality people. A system to create “Putins”. It’s trying to grab at stability in a whirlwind… “aristocracy” is a tricky matter, who does not want rule by the best? The problem is to create the best and to get the best into position, and the notbest out of there and off running a forklift in a factory. Easy to say. Eh? I’d rather be a hand on the job. So would most people. That says something…about identifying the best.

Speaking of Great Leaders and Territorial Sea… did a bit of sleuthing and realized Admiralty Law is maybe mysterious to old cat… but it seems that  “territorial sea” or “territorial waters” is established according to the US view by “presidential decree”. That’s it. Lex Romae est quidquid dicitur. Potestas iudicat ius et iniuriam et dominium secundum possessionem. Or so to say. So? Smiling at the risible idea that the Taiwan Strait might become, very briefly, a US Territorial Sea according to some PCP-influenced, possibly with a line of coke…some  sort of contrived legalistic deceit. Wave the paper Joe.

“You furnish the pictures and I’ll furnish the war” — William Randolph Hearst

I was looking for a short historical blurb for many of our readers who don’t know of Mr Warmonger Extraordinaire WR Hearst — and was shocked to learn (or forgot it) that he was one of the pioneers of the narrative on the Red Scare in 1947 at the age of 84!! What a vile creature.

I sincerely hope Russia takes Smoothie’s baton and prosecutes the media criminals to the hilt during upcoming war crimes tribunals. For peace to return to our world, we need justice and accountability…

The criminals who run and staff and bloviate on these rags know what they do is unconscionable and makes them fully complicit. Goebbels may have lied to the bitter end, but once the Red Army entered Berlin and its barrages could be felt in their bunkers, he chose to kill himself rather than be caught, knowing what awaited him. And so it will be for many staff of the august BBC, Bild, DW, CNN et al. There will be consequences for the mindwashing criminals.

Ok pl forgive , I’ve been consumed and mesmerized by happenings in Niger. Am catching up to many other areas.

“I’m more attached to the past now…”
Me too, eventhough so hopeful for the future. A great evil weight is falling off the world’s shoulders..  a quickening of History. But the key window to the future remains the past. Little is new under the sun, the major patterns and plotlines anyway.

“btw in some machines the belts are special non-sparking…something as trivial as saving a dollar by buying the cheaper sorts is like tossing a match…”

And who designed the machine they bought? This reminds me of smart sabotage opportunities, of a despised people. Like the General Electric design of Fukushima you mentioned. They really hated the Japanese then, soon after WW2. Placing the [emergency pumps?] under the expected tsunami flood level, etc. One can build in a catastrophic design failure feature some decades into the future, when it can be attributed to local incompetence and mismanagement and lack of proper maintenance!

The Turks are not brightest. For centuries they cottoned onto the Anglo-Saxons who hated them even more than the Japanese and named a footstool after their last dynasty. And Churchill I think it was that mocked them for being the Sick Man of Europe? Who’s sick in the ICU, and with no prospects of leaving vertical now, per the Eritean President?!

Mr P,  your “feel” for machines is beyond exceptional! It is a calling, almost metaphysical. You move in sync and have deep respect and appropriate fear of them, knowing the myriad complexity and endless fatal possibilities of hovering FUBAR. This comes to few, even in better days.

Yemenis told me of a talent called a “baseera” where a person could look at another’s face and tell their character and recent deeds, especially evil ones. A divine gift I suppose to protect certain good socially responsible sheep.. it is more common to receive these warnings in dreams and less dramatic ways too. But the point is that there are stages beyond mere knowledge — to the diligent scholar or adept or ascetic is given exceptional tools! It’s a pleasure to listen to your ruminations on machinery, eventhough I tend to avoid most! And taking the perspective that the human body is a machine (a pov I dislike) it reinforces why I instinctively disliked being a plumber and chose the track leading to solving problems with the mind.

      A comment on Niger :
“…Like Maidan, the snipers are on their way. A few shots and the balance of power turns back to the US/France.
Wagner has to put up a hell of a shield to save the rebels…”

No dear Larch. I don’t think this old Gene Sharp playbook will work. This would not be a counter coup against a thin illegitimate cadre or weak-willed weekend politicians. These are truly desperate folks with nothing to lose. Death as slaves on their knees or potential life on their feet… and death comes to all. Life has different value in traditional societies; why in great part Russians are willing to suffer wholesale death in defense of their society for countless millennia too. Parts of West Africa have chosen the Russian route. Ibrahim Traoré was the face of the Afro-Russian Summit, and not by happenstance. A pebble cast into a lake, cascading far out in every direction..

And they’ve had both a close view of their tactics in Africa itself, elsewhere and ongoing sound Russian advice, well practiced at this point, especially in the SMO where their generals and other leaders were hunted.

Snipers will not enjoy impunity there. They will be hunted too. They do not blend in there for one! 😁😘 Given the arrogance, ineptitude and racism of Empire, they will seek to hire from their own “best available” no? Even if they are smart enough to hire a black man, he will still stand out  — a well fed, strange-shaped, westerner with the wrong accent if he even speaks French or local languages. As in the Ukraine, these jobs will come to be understood by mercs as a one-way ticket.. Hence the desperate threats by Vicious Vicky… the lunatics are just down to threats — verbal, physical, optical, and sanctions..

Last, even if the top leaders are killed, others will step into place. As Traoré said, “Homeland, or Death.” Russians aren’t the only ones prepared for the supreme sacrifice to advance your people. And reinforcements are coming from all over! Not just the anti-French Sultan, but what goodies from DPRK, Iran, and other well-wishers??

So Wagner’s job isn’t Mission Impossible. It is to keep the seat of power filled with the warm butt of the right group’s man, whoever it may be atm. And help hunt and teach Doctrine and arms against irregulars, mercs, legionnaires, and who ever crosses the Niger border without permission.

And the Junta’s job is to develop the flexibility of a Hydra head, the movement of water through obstacles, and the patience of a monk to deal with the geopolitical storm that arrived in their neighborhood.

Emerson — you will love this. It puts in perspective why the future is Russia’s. And why the Global South chose Russia over a paradigm hellbent on death, destruction and nihilism.

dear, ahh, thank you for this video, i am drunk with joy, for i had not expected to witness such a great uplifting in my life.  unfortunately i was denied access to the irishman, apparently empire has ordained he is unsuitable for canadian audiences.  O well, thank you for thinking of me.

the wisdom of african proverbs guide us up this staircase to the stars. listening to the diplomats & the array of learned observers i’ve come to appreciate the unity of african nations, even when feuding there are cords within each nation, deeper than american blues.   within empire we have been cut off from all such bonds & are easily shackled & herded, whereas, in your home those bonds are breath itself, impervious & indestructible.   here mother & africa understand each other.

      Very wonderful AHH.  Thanks!

I actually sense a massive African change.  And people like Cyril Ramaphosa (locally lots of press not really politically inspired but simply confused!  about his flipflopping all over the place), will be losing their religion.

The first cadres after so-called end of colonialism, that had to deal with the devil are moving out.  The second level cadres, that learned the lessons, are stepping up and saying wtf?  Kinda a liberation of ‘independance’.

Same story now happening in Zimbabwe – the old ‘Kings’ have lost their lustre.

I really want to write the book.   But, I will be haunted all across the world so I’ve been declining any movie deals – its a hard NO!.   The USSR fights in Africa, back in time, although they are painting it white now, and saying they started the wave of anti-colonialism, were only the first proxy wars.

I am deeply flattered by the undeserved praise, Brother. Thank you very kindly. It seems to me that some men find focus, and others wander about. Available if Fate calls them, otherwise simply spares… Myself being a spare…maybe a living history, a bit of anyway. how could I possibly take up the comprador niche I was set for, after I saw the Red Hunt and Korea and overheard certain matters under discussion?  Your 1947 Hearst – well, Father got caught in that stuff, and Mother…  I recall my teachers askin’ “Is your father’s first name…”  We moved a lot. Looking back, maybe a taste of “ptsd” writ small. We discussed being odd man out as kids… Father carried a .38 pistol in the 40’s and 50’s… I nearly missed him, two fellas tried to take him for a ride the same day that Mother waited to tell him the happy news… He came home, she said, covered with blood. There had been a previous close call with a suicidal fella at the courthouse…mad suicide bomber…probably in 47 or 48. I ought to check with the LA Times librarian… The poor fella went ahead and did it… highly dramatic. But he walked away first. Father and the fella had been chatting, he said…adding that the man was sweating and terribly agitated. Blast at Courthouse back in th’ day. Little fella he was. Wearing a suit in warm non air-conditioned LA… well, he had to conceal the dynamite…

I also remember the first cops I met…investigating a theft..they had only one question> “Was it a Niggxx or a Spixx …?? ”  Maybe I was 2 years old…they made a very ugly impression, and they smelled bad.

I looked at the Turksilo initiation of explosion… “sabotage” by neglect… static discharge. An ordinary and inevitable result, inmo, of lack of maintenance and poor policy. Recalling “what’s an accident?”  Grain in the drop off the conveyor falls and the the static charge builds… It looks like the spark started in the drop. Is a sort of a van de graff generator. I’d guess the dust control system was not running. The plant shows poor house-keeping too.  Like sex, “Shucks, nothing ever happened before…” and whaddyaknow!

Gunderson said about Fukushima… the fuze was lit in US. I think some fellas quit rather than sign off….back in ’65 or whatever. Of course they had job for the asking at Luckupcorp. The Saturn moon project an’ all that stuff. Yes, the Yanks despised the Japanese in the 1960’s.  But Fuk was built for political leverage on the cheap…  All machine desire to revert of their origins…and resume a quiet repose, and some are mean spirited… But GE was peopled by men who held the Japanese in contempt, some of them veterans of the Pacific War… and the Kamikaze actions…and the “Victory at Sea” series of half or 1/4 truth propaganda ran on TV building the mythic history…so sure, the engineers mostly said “phuckem”. It is fair to recall that in the same period the Japanese fellas would cut a yank sailor’s throat, or lower than that, if they could… sometimes they managed. This also I have heard from eye witness about Turk and saber up the backside of sailorman yank ashore in ’63 … fella was said to have made improper “advances” with respect to Moslem Ladies…once. You know how brothers can be…”serious” about some matters.

Seriously, machine is task master. And sheds no tears. Build machine make of self a slave to machine….and “machine” can be the rente economy _ a racket and also a machine.

Machine… In the ordinary scope of wood and iron, the combinations of the basic physical machine elements https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simple_machine  when manifest these exist in latency (for me) as 4 (Time plus more) dimensional potentials. More complex machine, (and I understand your pov my Brother!), are perhaps influenced (inho yes) by spooky action and a impenetrable complex of chemistries and feed-back structures… man, imhv, is a multidimensional machine. This may exceed the “elasticity” of the word “machine”. Voltaire and his animal automatons is for me flat out stupid, even though I do appreciate the V man. For me the machine-man is capable of hearing the voice of heaven…how many dimensions does that place him in? Dunno, but more than I can count.

Sniper> If nobody sees you, it’s very fine. If sniper shoots and misses (shame!) then everybody down range is interested in sniper, and in killing him. If he kills or wounds, then everybody down range is even more interested in killing sniper, and they are pizzedoff. Is dangerous craft. Beer cans at 600 yards? Fun! But sniper is for crazy men. I have known one fella from the Vietnam crime spree who was sniper. After doing sniper and being discharged, he tore himself ever so slowly bit by bit to physical ruin… self torture. The souls of his kills lived in him like knives. Of course a proper serial murderer for fun is a psyco. My old pal had the bad luck to be sane.

Interestingly, about the trade craft of machines, I checked the hourly rate for my most recent old union… > 60 sambuck per hour now. The fellas are getting nailed in taxes for the same work that previously they were taxed at lower rate. Sometimes the field engineers would quit at the end of a job and on the next job you’d run into the same fella, but he’d be carrying a union card…more money less trouble. Mrs P and I share an odd quality or ability – a sort of kinetic visualization of things in transparencies, by thought alone, like the old time blue-prints with overlays, but running. An example being a radio transmitter in operation, and “seeing” the flows in color, or visualizing gears in operation flooded with oil, with the hot spots reddish… Machine speak. We Listen. It’s not very useful though. Mrs P does a very good job of critical path fitting…how to move things… Craftword for zugswang is btw “tubelocked” to Tooblocked” …caint go neither way, we’re screwed fellas…get a torch…” She somehow avoids tubelock, me not so great. For me it’s bit like being a tiny eye that can go anywhere inside…and the audio speaks too, I hear all sorts of voices from machinery.

To-day we make of table grape abundance the individual blanched gapes (known as “hot-break” in food chem), it’s simply a quick trip to 100C (enzyme kill) , thence to dryer for 14 +  hours.  Raisins are very nice, eh?  Later walnuts, slaked and chelated and dried… fine evening communal roundtable listen to old radio shows time for Fall season…

Enough! The global revolution and epochal phase…and the conflict…these run. Maybe meantime ride motorcycle. Shuck corn. Forge iron. I do wish we really had a Dew Drop Inn and a Stumpy…  Anoxia is, but it’s not terribly stimulating… So? It’s nice. Maybe it will stay nice.

PARIS, FRANCE — Shipping activity in the French Atlantic port of La Rochelle — one of the biggest grain export terminals in France — was disrupted on Aug. 10 after a fire broke out and spread to four grain silos operated by SICA Atlantique.
The cereal terminal at La Rochelle, known as La Pallice, is an important export outlet that handles larger panamax vessels.

““aristocracy” is a tricky matter, who does not want rule by the best? The problem is to create the best and to get the best into position, and the notbest out of there and off running a forklift in a factory. Easy to say. Eh? I’d rather be a hand on the job. So would most people. That says something…about identifying the best….”

There are certain civilizations throughout history which temporarily succeeded.. temporarily, as baser human nature and tendency to corruption inevitably reared its beastly head in the passage of time. What they did was select for high position those who REFUSED high position. Worked for a while. Until the corrupt feigned disinterest to get in!

The ancient Athenians allowed the poor to rule them, too, via true democracy via lottery. This permitted entry to those without vested interests, ostensibly not prone to pleonexia. However they made for poor leaders (no pun intended) – without the adequately rigorous education and feel for elite BS, so became swayed or sunk into gridlock, etc.. But I agree, rigorous education with watchful eyes at each stage to get the measure of the person is key… a constant struggle for each society.

And going by Karma, that a people get the leaders they deserve, the moral characteristics of the larger group also informs the success of the leader.. so it is a complicated affair.

This African saga is haunting us too. It affected most parts of Africa. From Niger and the Sahel destroyed by the French, it was usually hundreds of thousands people on foot going through the desert of post-Gaddafi 404 Libya. Then those who survived went on to try to float on flimsy craft across the Med to Italy.. to this day there is news every other day of boats capsizing and 50-100+ dying due to escaping the annihilation of their societies by satanist West. There is a huge comeuppance….

Yesterday an elder visited with us and recounted his harrowing story escaping from Africa. After our country was collapsed, he was able to escape in 1990s via Kenya. From there he somehow received a fake passport (in a women’s name!) arriving in France, where was immediately caught. A sympathetic immigration officer allowed deportation to Syria in lieu back to a warzone.

In Syria they were so welcoming, a truly hospitable culture. He worked and lived in a restaurant washing dishes for a while. Syria was stable and whole then. Went into Turkey, from there another fake passport got him into Moscow, itself collapsed in 1990s. Money there bought a retroactive student visa stamped by their Ministry of Education, thence into Poland, then Germany then Holland, then Scandinavia (Denmark? And Sweden too). But the Promised Land was USA so he somehow got into USA illegally, was caught, arm was broken trying to run from customs, and deported to Cuba (!!). Cuba though was starving like Moscow in mid-1990s… and he got the hell out quickly.

Back to Moscow somehow, then finally ended up in London for last 30 years… now two oldest kids in med school and back to driving a taxi (!) The good jobs dried up, even though his specialty in management of logistics (China-UK) during his prime was remunerative, but now all job offers are 1/3 — 1/4 what his peers with white skin make. atm UK is a hellhole he said, worst in Europe. He’s seen dramatic decline; waiting for kids to finish school to get out.. And this story which wore me out just listening is a best-case scenario!! He was among the lucky few… All this saga, torment, uprooting, tremendously taxing Odyssey, the lost potential due to centuries of Plunder…

What will western elites, used to this way of life, do to their people once they’re fully beaten back to their homelands without any colonies?? In many regards, the rising chipped digital gulag, devoid of personal possessions and animal protein and good health, is a preparation for the retreat so the criminals can continue their massively unequal lifestyles, this time at expense of domestic populations…

Dear AHH, the sins of a poor ruler are transferred in part to the populace. This is the law of Karma. When a ruler performs good deeds, which results in general prosperity, a part of the good Karma of the people is transferred to the ruler.

Things happen when what everyone knows and was afraid (mostly) to say out loud, begin to speak… I don’t know how causative this is, it may be more a marker, anyway one straight talk…https://youtu.be/ibj7HZpzOhg  “you can’t talk of NATO and Peace in one sentence…” Julius Malema (of whom I have never before heard, I’m sorry to say.)

OK, Malema. He is a horrible hater, of anything white. They are taking him to court now again (local social groups) for singing the song … Kill the Boer – kill the white farmer – Hate Speech. He started singing it just a few weeks ago (as part of political speech as an election is coming up). It is a drone song and is nicely within the dancing and shuffling of some of the black tribes. I grew up with the song and can do it as well as anyone else.

The thing is, he is said not to even be a South African, but moved from the North – I don’t know, but listening to his speech, he speaks the more Northern accents.

Let me tell a story. We were in Zimbabwe, and there is one tribe that cannot say L .. it is just a sound that they do not have in their own language. So, they translate it to R. So, we were there, and we had a cook. It sounds bad, like slavery, but no, it was a paid and beloved cook and it was not a thing of the women could work in the home. We all had our outside work to do. The cook’s name was William. But not being able to say R, it was translated to Wirriam .. and for short, wirm. He was the best cook in the world, and one time I came back from the big city with a new food processor, thinking it would help with making butter – we made a lot of butter because we did a lot of baking, and this all was stirred from cream, by hand. Well, end of story, Wirriam chased me with his chef’s knife (a panga) – I had to remove the food processor, because it was not his thing, and the kitchen was his, so what was I doing there anyways with my machine? That evening, he came in as usual to take ‘orders’ for light dinner, and for me, all I could have was shirred eggs and Wirm’s evil eye! And he probably spat in my eggs. Nothing more for me. I had to beg him to allow me to use my machine for baking and I could only do that when he was off shift.

So, Malema, in the same language as Wirriam would speak, sings songs of killing all the whites. He probably has a grade 3 education, but when people started talking about it, he received some kind of degree from some kind of school, so he is all Educated now.

Africa is a vibe. Malema is still fighting the old fights. Since he again started singing the drone song from the political platform, the killings of farmers just increased. It is back to court for him.

Here he is, telling Elon Musk he is illiterate. Its been a long story. I have no respect for him, because he has no respect for me.

Spitting in food, hahaha. Reminds me of saucy Hong Kong Chinese “serving” vile customers before 1999. This was usually uppity compradore elites or corrupt coppers, British or Eurasian (native chinese knew better to carefully eyeball soups and whatnot for floating signs…). Multitudes of thanks, as now I have a frame for Mr Malema! I did like his true-ness about the NATO…

Spitting is, I am assured, also a tradition in the US Navy. And indeed one does find drawn to speculate on other, similar, expressions of “objection”. Alas! The officers know, after a time. Ripper may have made a subtle implication…ahem! Since fragging in Army, we assume spitting…a lesser sin?

At the Dewdrop Inn they tell a story about some incoherent doper out in the parking lot, he got arrested with poison oak…he was smearing the leaves on the cop car door handle when they caught him…

You guys knowing Africa is indeed, as it shares by a tiny bit by bit dialogue, a wonder for me. Thanks very kindly. As yet I have no “feel”…the US experience between “whites” and “blacks” totally obscures  (I think) for most Americans, and especially for the ruling class ad hoc …totally blinds American rulers from seeing Africans as Equals. This of course is terrible, as their fate is to be disillusioned somewhat abruptly.

Longtimeago on a union job among maybe 20 US fellas, all “a-race-mixed”, we had one of the blackest men I’d ever seen, quiet. And in the jocular repartee of construction gangs we told stories… until He spoke. It was devastating to everyone. Clearly a foreigner by accent and elocution, and with a comprehensive understanding of geopolitical factual history. This welcome event, in microcosm perhaps foreshadows a common future for the Americans, and shocking too, for the junta…

One of the features of rapid change is the arrivals from Birnham Wood. It would have been boring, but nice, to live in a quieter period, eh?

He says a lot of things that make absolute sense. His ideas on who owns the industry in the African countries that I know, mainly the Southern ones and east, are spot on. But he blames the wrong person – he blames the ordinary person, instead of those that still own the mines and the industries – only now with black management sometimes for show. I guess the ordinary person he can get to, literally he can point to them in the streets, but the owners he cannot get to. It is a very strange mix that one.

Thanks…people evolve. Rabbi say “many paths to God”.

La Guardia (NYC mayor fame) used to say that “you can’t do nuthin’ if you don’t get elected”, or maybe it was Johnson… People do all sorts of stuff trying to get power. As you say, a strange one. Recalling that the indirect is usually a heavy effect, and BF Hart’s “Strategy”, (and Maud Lebowski! and the little Lebowski!) the regrettable secondary effect of peoples invading and stealing loot is probably heavier than the crime itself. A compound interest machine. How nice. At Anoxia the old crimes are put away, but dark forces tease them out like the 404nazis… We do hear of the open border and armies of young men… Whatever. Is this true? Or is someone just messing with me?

The US standard railroad gauge (distance between the rails) is 4 feet, 8.5 inches. That’s an exceedingly odd number. Why was that gauge used? Well, because that’s the way they built them in England, and English engineers designed the first US railroads.

Why did the English build them like that? Because the first rail lines were built by the same people who built the wagon tramways, and that’s the gauge they used. So, why did ‘they’ use that gauge then? Because the people who built the tramways used the same jigs and tools that they had used for building wagons, which used that same wheel spacing.

Why did the wagons have that particular odd wheel spacing? Well, if they tried to use any other spacing, the wagon wheels would break more often on some of the old, long distance roads in England . You see, that’s the spacing of the wheel ruts. So who built those old rutted roads?

Imperial Rome built the first long distance roads in Europe (including England ) for their legions. Those roads have been used ever since. And what about the ruts in the roads? Roman war chariots formed the initial ruts, which everyone else had to match or run the risk of destroying their wagon wheels. Since the chariots were made for Imperial Rome , they were all alike in the matter of wheel spacing. Therefore the United States standard railroad gauge of 4 feet, 8.5 inches is derived from the original specifications for an Imperial Roman war chariot. Bureaucracies live forever.

So the next time you are handed a specification/procedure/process and wonder ‘What horse’s as came up with this?’, you may be exactly right. Imperial Roman army chariots were made just wide enough to accommodate the rear ends of two war horses. (Two horses’ asses.)

Now, the twist to the story: When you see a Space Shuttle sitting on its launch pad, there are two big booster rockets attached to the sides of the main fuel tank. These are solid rocket boosters, or SRBs. The SRBs are made by Thiokol at their factory in Utah . The engineers who designed the SRBs would have preferred to make them a bit fatter, but the SRBs had to be shipped by train from the factory to the launch site. The railroad line from the factory happens to run through a tunnel in the mountains, and the SRBs had to fit through that tunnel. The tunnel is slightly wider than the railroad track, and the railroad track, as you now know, is about as wide as two horses’ behinds.

So, a major Space Shuttle design feature, of what is arguably the world’s most advanced transportation system, was determined over two thousand years ago by the width of a horse’s ass. And you thought being a horse’s as wasn’t important? Ancient horse’s asses control almost everything.

Yes, dear…or at least it’s a very old story I’ve heard many times. Before rail there were rut roads through soft rock, however the spacing was perhaps less, closer to donkey or mule.

Roman roads were military assets, thus spacing for “mobile armor unit chariot ” and traction unit.

De Re Metallica includes illustrations of rails in mines. Also pumps, etc.

Yes Amarynth, what I would add to the width of two horse’s asses is the exceptional engineering of the Romans. The recipes of their concrete which built port docks, piers (under water !!!), aqueducts, bridges, etc. has been lost. And they were exceptionally strong, lasting millennia. Many were only destroyed in the modern wars of the last century.

So the missing part of the story, why 19th century England adopted the Roman standard was that Roman roads and their ruts still persisted into the 19th century! If you google or search on YT “Roman roads” you will find a wealth of data…

Here’s one I shared a few months ago on this site:

Morn’n  Fine thoughts and posts e’rybody.

Sudhi’s remark re Karma and the relationship R-P… I heartily agree, and note that imho they form a dynamic couple, a machine… That got me to thinking about perturbation and outliers in Time.Bell curves an’ statistics…

Even a highly stable and happy political couple R-P can, we assume, be ruined by outside coming inside… internet and the tendency to abandon discipline and duty and family and kin in favor of a hedonistic path of greedy and ultimately futile, sterile, self-gratification, etc, including all the ordinary vices and some very occult crazychit….these being part of an example of a secondary after-effect – a DARPA project to maintain comm in nuclear war. Secondary effects are cunning, perhaps the metaphysical equivalent of malign intent some machines harbor along with their basic death wish. An invisible metamachine lurking and unsee able which may materialize at any moment. Of course there is also direct intrusion…rockets, bullets, rocks. And coincidence. Of coincidence, or spooky action (“hand of God”, “HoG” “) more below.

But speaking of rocks (!) New stuff has come to light, it seems. The Roman concrete recipe may have been teased out of Hadrian’s Wall. It’s interesting to realize that the chemistry produces a “metal” (not in the ordinary sense, but in the old time sense), more or less an alloy, structure, sorta. And like adding tin to copper, when it cools those tin atoms change everything about the properties, and pinch of arsenic has amazing effects as well…but the alkali metals in the Roman concrete seem to create similar physical structure, in scanning electron microscope lens…similar, perhaps analogous, to an alloyed copper, etc.

“A reproduction of Imperial-age mortar based on Trajan’s Markets (110 CE) wall concrete resists microcracking through cohesion of calcium–aluminum–silicate–hydrate cementing binder and in situ crystallization of platey strätlingite, a durable calcium-aluminosilicate mineral that reinforces interfacial zones and the cementitious matrix. In the 1,900-y-old mortar dense intergrowths of the platey crystals obstruct crack propagation and preserve cohesion at the micron scale. Trajanic concrete provides a proven prototype for environmentally friendly conglomeratic concretes that contain ∼88 vol % volcanic rock yet maintain their chemical resilience and structural integrity in seismically active environments at the millenial scale.”

You’ll recall I mentioned a couple of books on how stuff breaks and why things fall down…generally…cracks. The old stuff is old because it resists cracking, mostly.

      https://www.pnas.org/doi/abs/10.1073/pnas.1417456111

The US, Corps of Engineers I think, did an experimental spillway not too many years ago in a close approximation of the Roman big rock and compacted and layers and volcanic stuff – so I recall reading about. The use of machinery rather than slaves changed the product, obviously, and nobody on the job had ever done that job, so…experiment.  Roman engineers would have probably done a better job.

Coincidence, HoG, spooky action…….perturbation of otherwise inherent dynamic  stability.  of R-P couple

see> https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1029/2022SW003379  and the general lay of the scientific aspect…We live in a system, an active system, that is more or less sure to make inoperative, to some extent destroy, most electrical machines on the planet. It’s simply a matter of luck-up event. How, I wonder will the Great nazi Junta, assuming it’s still in operation, survive with no cops and no lights and nothing to eat? We might also ask the same questions of the Global South and East, Russia, China, and the Question about Africa…that one gets interesting.  Of course the solar-weather ruining the electrical machines, which is just about everything beyond a shovel or a knife, is not the old source of perturbations capable of beyond-the-elastic-limits of an Nth R-P…which means crack-break of R-P… So? Well, rocks. These happen. And Heaven hath shewn, there’s our moon, all bashed quite nicely… like the Rabbi’s story and drowning… God sent three boats.

Which minds me again of why old stuff is old, it resists cracking…and similarly optimism is constantly reinforced by the increasingly astonishing discovery that every man must have when he arises each day, not dead. Optimism itself, a metamachine of sorts, may act as part of a machine to resist cracking.  I think so anyway. Hadrian’s Wall is made of optimistic concrete? Yeah.

btw the machine meta think stuff was obsessive through adolescence, very unpleasant sometimes…it’s resolved now, but I can’t juggle as many bits anymore, not giant structures in detail. The intuition remains though. Feynman talks about the same thing. He was a motivated student. Me? Yerkiddin’

Yeah, things break that crack – ahaaaaa … that is for sure.  I have such a thing about kitchen equipment, I hate to pay the prices but I like the best of the best … and then it cracks!  The motor is motoring on just fine – but the plastic bits crack and the thing breaks and sometimes the new plastic bits cannot be bought any longer.  And a very good motor has to be garbaged because the plastic bits cracked.

I complained about a new washing machine that we had to buy because the old one was just broken.  Well, I learned to manage that thing as well and it works fine if it is loaded with half of what it is supposed to be loaded with.  Now it hums away, with just a little laundry.  Literally half of what it is rated at.

Anyway, Mr P, if you are interested even on a vague level in this person called Malema, here is a fair video about the whole story.  Its a bit long, but when he starts with his presentation, he talks fluently and not with too much slang.  There is a clip in there of Malema in the High Court hard refusing to say that he will not call to ‘kill the boer’.  Anyway, this is from the side of the mix there that could be anti-Russian but they do good work for the community and have done sterling work in setting together groups of defenders against the murders of the white farmers.  This guy sets all that in context.

So, with South Africa doing nothing for their own minorities, and Russia doing a whole lot for their own minorities as well as China .. South Africa has never sat well in BRICS for me.  The values are different – something there should crack as well.

There’s plastic, and then there’s plastic…much of what’s called plastic is a plastic cement of filler material –  Ammonium sulfamate among these, and corn starch too, percentages vary, iirc… from wayback and Cincinnati Milacron plastic injection machine maintenance class. Introducing additives sometimes creates stress concentration, nucleus of crack start. Motors make vibration, this discovers incipient crack loci… an o’scope and transducer would reveal all sorts of parasitic vibrations, under strobe even pretty. Fatigue crack formation is a time to failure matter, we are being swindled. Incidentally  many modern engines with aluminum connecting rods are running time to failure rods, design to fail beyond the useful life of engine…this is possible in plastic too, generally. It’s simply how good it good enough to make a swindle work. Airplane, especially pressurized jets, are time-to-failure dynamic stability machine, multidimensional, tricky, and cunning.

Mrs P shares your criticisms. I posted some bit about copper…cheap-o-stuff is largely, imho, a product of depletion of mines, wells, primarystuff. She has a dough mixer that screams to me, but it has not yet cracked.

      ………..

We’re doing raisins, speaking of good…! Anyway research of drying…learned paper. Now have wet from vine sample weighed and noted down, set variac and hot plate and fan… paper (they have nice budget and equipment!) https://www.researchgate.net/publication/257678951_Comparison_of_drying_characteristics_of_Thompson_seedless_grapes_using_combined_microwave_oven_and_hot_air_drying

Thompson grape wet-on-vine ripe & sweet is stated 78% moisture, as a general figure. Safe storage is 18%. I am trying to duplicate/verify, and discover faster throughput.

Paper speaks of a dilute caustic dip NaOH followed by dilute acid (citric ?) which is associated with considerable reduction in dry-time to 18%. Perhaps 14 hours per slug rather that 24. Naturally the diurnal cycle ambient is about the same one day to the next, so while I note and record stuff, I doubt it’ll matter, since a slug is started in evening – same day to day. Wish for vacuum dryer oven I did not take for free off craig’s list! Dummy!

anyone, have ideas/info regarding china’s new laser ‘weapon’??  rt had a snippet, which i haven’t found on chinese english sites which usually disclose recent chinese developments…full disclosure: my secret hope, china’s been dicking with EW for years (amerika’s finest complaining about blindness after sailing past a few chinese fishermen)…so is this the real deal…or not…& would china share or work on this with russia, or not?

Yes, a bit…I read on it. Mind you it’s an incremental tech advance. I read that they have built a gas cooled continuous-run LASER in a frequency suitable for burning stuff and not much collimation problems, which I assume stem from heating internal, hence the cooling gas. Being practical minded, I assume air, but ahdunno..an’ that just what I read….

Note, all amplifiers have efficiency < 1, so a high power (weapon useful) LASER has heat, I imagine that’s a problem for a long burn.

I wish a physics cat would check in though… one article and an old guy…

While they’re interesting weapons… They seem to me pretty limited and suitable only for special work, and development.

Mr.P,  your affinity with machines verges upon mystical.  the lack of fanfare surrounding this development encourages me to believe it is crucial,  given the timing, i can’t help but view it as a head’s up warning to empire.

thank you, amarynth, i’ve bookmarked both & will refer to them often as i continue the search.   it delights me to imagine the pentagon noodles in shock, assuring each other it cannot be true, & therefore it is a lie.

      ZZZzzzzzz

burkina faso establishes diplomatic relations with  north korea, ignoring sanctions it pops weapons in its shopping cart, new day dawns;  the base in syria is bombed (finally!); head choppers murder innocents in shiraz; why O why?; pakistan stalls the pipeline with iran…poor imran, poor pakistan, bought stooges killing their population, working counter to their children’s fortune & future.  what a day, what a time.  soon, we’ll reach a sunny shore, only over there, i’m sure ah that.

I am not familiar with the politics of South Africa, but could Malema be an attack dog of the Anglo-Americans? The ANC, courts, and elites have been captured since the 1990s hyperpower moment..

The British hate the Boers. What they did to them before ww1 was beastly. iirc Hitler’s Third Reich learned the very concept of concentration camps from the criminal and genocidal British treatment of the Boers..

Our world is at essence tribal, in spite of pretensions of higher education and progress. Even with the atomization of modern cities.. And as Anglos currently delight in the wholesale bloodletting between deranged Ukie slavs and Russian slavs, why wouldn’t they use the conflict between blacks and Boers to detonate a key target, once Africa’s top economy and potential beacon for coexistence?? And now even more critical as a BRICS member..

Re: “…motor is motoring on just fine – but the plastic bits crack and the thing breaks and sometimes the new plastic bits cannot be bought any longer.”

There are folks in every society, usually poorer sections of town, who can fix anything! True human ingenuity. They will really come in hand as global supply chains wither..

we recently had one such man (an electrician and carpenter on the side) fix a cracked edge of water tank of a baby food pureeing machine. He applied an epoxy which sealed it like new! And parts not available on our continent! So never give up hope..

Rather the odd ramble, my friends…

Indeed ! conflict between blacks and Boers to detonate a key target, once Africa’s top eco… Such a divide to rule has, some say, been running for many decades (centuries anyway)  in the nazibasewest, so it’s a natural for the finks. Mr Malema, whatever his true nature, is an actor in some sense, and he also needs money…since he has no evident trade. They say that expert arsonists never have to burn anything down, they get paid to not do, or course that racket takes an organization with clout…and money. I do not imagine Mr M is an expert arsonist…. 😉  He may work for one though…odd jobs an’ all.

Tribal. Among casual chatter American Jews often say “MOT” member of the tribe, just btw. Mrs P and I have discussed, so far as we might, the tribal traces and paths and how they’ve been both influenced and influential…and of course the origins and diasporas of our shared history include several other species of chimpanzee (I have read that boffins see indications of 22 species, so far, we are not homogeneous, profiles vary, they say.), as the boffins have teased out the DNA to some extent. We decided as tentative opinion that children look like their parents. They tend to act like their parents, and react like their parents, live about as long too, Boys go walkabout and sailing. Girls can be randy. Tribes mix and change, and the ladies choose more than men know – there’s a sort of guided randomness that brought us to now an’ what people call by the much abused word “race”. Turbulence in Time as River flows and floods, sometimes, so to say.  (the term “race” is imho, so politically abused as to nearly useless, unless we speak of bearing race or millrace and so forth)

We have been considering the implications of the long-ago Quaker community argument and decision in re slavery. There was “white” – “white” legal slavery as well as w-indigenous legal slavery and of course the white – African sort, and also the trade in women of any “race”. I ought to do some deep research on this… But what’s topical to our discussion is the implication respecting rents. These seem to be liable to be divided into classes of moral grades, but also seem to be forms of slavery. It’s a line of inquiry here at the digs. Withal, we dislike rente “machines”.

Fixin’ Yeah. Mr Fixit. As the American farmer boys gave way to the allure of factory jobs and left the farms, these skills were ordinary. In depression nobody didn’t know a Mr Fixit, and many were him. These qualities are mostly lost now. Adults that can’t fix anything and who know very little beyond formula and rote of their employment are essentially helpless. We see that as evidence of crime, and decadence, vice. Low character. Dishonest leaders. And the natural decay of empire. Story> Pacific war. Some recently “liberated” island, (Midway?) and Captain R makes his way to the O Club. They have spirits of course. But ice as well! And ice cream. Captain (who is also a lawyer) makes inquiries… The source was a home-brew SO2 gas generator for the fluid, and highly modified air compressor, small engine, belts .. etc…y’all know the cycle. The SeaBees – a buncha farm boys, as a gang, knew how to build it and make it work. The equipment diversion and minor violations were smoothed over by the ice cream at the O Club. The fellas had cold beer and a profitable little supply racket, ahem. Captain R told me that story at dinner some 55 years ago..and now everyone knows it, a little. Good. He lived to be 103, iirc. Good fella. Called Fletcher a coward at the O Club in Oz… so? So never made admiral.  I have long suspected that “R” sabotaged his promotion due to the carnage and corruption. He’d sunk a German sub in Atlantic in W1, but that was clean as opposed to the stuff he saw in the Pacific W2. Of course, we do these things spontaneously. Psych stuff mysteries. R was in China between the wars… ref novel Sand Pebbles. (not the film!) Just such a ship. Below W1 “tin can” similar to R commanded.DD US W1 ship

amarynth > The twelve foot gizmo is wonderful! Thanks! The previous ( “arch ive.ph/” ) no longer happens for us. I read the paper. A remark. If possible find a ‘scoped rifle or a surveyor’s transit…either one (be safe! be legal!) anyway set up the ‘scope cross hair on a “target” a mile away. Or 5 miles away. Even on a surveyor’s tripod the target jinks ’round at any great distance. ( In layout we stop at 100’…Past 100′ it loses accuracy more than is good.

So? so burn time infinite is very nice, but it is still extremely difficult to hold the beam on target – the jinking at long range means a sort of less than 100% “duty cycle” of BoT (beam on target)

      Dust in air… scattering. Defense.

Selecting the chemistry of an artificial smoke generator according to the absorption spectra, matching an Nth smoke chemistry to a specific LASER – the beam can be blocked by such smoke. You’d probably be able to do a fair defense with a LASER detector that fired smoke grenades , a kilo of talc, maybe titanium dioxide, check IUPAC whatever the physics is, and an ounce of C4 kinna bangers. I’d want to have the boys down in the shop run some experiments… !

If Chinese engineers make a weapon, they are sure to also make defense.  I wonder about how the LASER “sees” the target…by radar? Optic? If “no see” then no BoT. And if LASER fires, it gives away position (probably the BFG big fat generator and the LASER give off so much heat that in thermal image they look like a city..) I wonder about means of blinding the “seeing”. Can LASER target acquisition machine stand a very bright flash? How fast can it recover, what persistence?

Seems like a useful machine to burn down birds in flight, or model airplanes (!) These cannot defended by dust…though even there, ideas do arise.. The dust-o-matic machine…now lemmesee… I’ll need an abacus  😉

      Best! P

so perusing the news, alongside more coffee, i choked on RT’s post on putin’s announcement regarding working with other militaries.  this after i’d just skimmed that pakistan’s military had been in russia discussing the price of this n that & what to do what to do.  i paused mentally doing a chicken scratch around the why & wherefores: given russia & china are different facets of pragmatic:

given pakistan’s location, population, & resources pakistan is a country worthy of mentorship & guidance.  & above all, rescue, caught as it is in empire’s deep debt blob.

given modi’s recent dalliance with empire, peppered with india’s pointed remarks regarding china,  alongside this morning reports of chinese deaths in gawdar…a pakistan military presence in moscow may have been orchestrated to lend india a moment’s pause, dearest, your recent flirtations have been duly noted, we implore you, please, give your head a gentle shake, it’s imperative that you comprehend we are serious about win win & harmony & joining arm in arm singing…we shall overcome—but if you cannot, well, how will it go?  for you?  pakistan, china (the 2 you are most jealous of),  alongside russia & iran working for prosperity & the betterment of all & you, dear heart, once more bedded with your old master? are you really going to pleasure & serve once more rather than be free?  time is running, you must decide—the walrus or the sealing wax or empty cockleshells.

Hi emerson there’s a huge Army expo atm in Moscow, being attended by some 200 delegations. I don’t think it’s anti-India per se. India should be a prominent delegation there too.

Maybe Pakistan will be enhanced to deal with the terrorism getting out of hand. They’ve been thoroughly infiltrated since late 1970s. The Chinese engineers need full protection at all times given the number of crazies amongst them. And it’s not all crazies. A desperately poor failed state has endless pools of ready bagman to do a dirty job against those they see as low cost foreigners. I am not being hyperbolic; how close is Pakistan to being broken??

And the terrorism is off the charts everywhere!! It increased in Mali, leading to expedited evacuation by already unwanted UN “peacekeepers.” It increased in northern Niger, Libya, Somaliland, killings in Iranian masjid, etc.. the bile of Empire is overflowing, raising the temperature everywhere. Absolute beasts.  Swedish police warn of pending attacks too.

Like the Ukies letting loose against Moscow and border regions and civilian shipping, their handlers are going full retard too, and globally!!!

agreed,  india has a large presence…the indian military knows the difference between high rent battery operated gizmos requiring a streetsweeper to clear the runway & what mother has on offer.

agreed also, pakistan is nearing the broken destiny empire bequeathed her.  God bless pakistan.  pity her, destroyed, like afghanistan, & left for dying, useful to empire for nothing more than seeding the world with empire’s remaining arsenal; terrorists…bioweapons, head choppers, & nukes fuelled by plenoxia.  we knew it would come to this.  what else?  empire has no conscience, it cannot match the RoH, evil is its sole remaining weapon.  i sometimes believe that’s why mother & the RoH dare not succumb to revenge or play tit for tat, this battle is light over dark, pure & simple, love over hate.  miraculously, love is the single thing that does not biodegrade, love is the dark matter holding our universe together.

Not only Pak… A fella from a company coal town in Appalachia told me about how his father would do a contract murder in Chicago most every Christmas.  Otherwise no Christmas. I assume the rate-sheet price is pretty low in US cities. Standards have fallen, it seems.

I wonder about the rising violence in terms of big scale…is this a metaphysical pyre burning away at the old ways, a sort of ketosis? It is also terrible…but I wonder if it burns out, and more, I wonder what comes after that.

btw @ Chronicle I wrote about a startlement from McGovern… “Ruski hitting tunnels Carpathian Mountain thru-transit-supply route. Ivan is serious. The nazihq is delirious…”  good 20 minutes.  The startling remark near the end…

I worry about tempo and reach of rising violence too. Seems more. Even the bomber and signals interceptions Amarynth mentioned — Norwegians near Kola sub base (?) Russians had their own responses. This stood out:

Russian bombers were intercepted by the British just north of Shetland Islands. These appear to have ceased being patrols but bombing practice runs on both sides?? And how many cargo holds were empty?? When does brinkmanship cease being a science, and becomes a water slide? Remember Medvedev’s fatalism. What did their algorithms spit out as the cut off point, when fail safe is lost?

Drones! I shouldn’t have joked about eating Geraniums for Breakfast and Lancets for Lunch. They are revolutionizing war!
And guess what’s on prominent display at the biggest armaments shopping party on earth atm? Lancets.. and Frenchie thought he could escape to Africa and be rid of infernal Russkie war-hammers! Thanks, you helped inspire their development in real time!
And note Shoigu trolling all those saying they had Iranian drones in the SMO, lol 😂🤣 first DPRK, now Iran. And VVP took a report from the manager of the state uranium holdings, lol. Oh this is too much. Spleens are rupturing!
