      Opening a new thread with something I’ve been pondering for a while.  As an American I am obviously in a bit of a news bubble re:China, and the vast majority of news that does come my way is business news.  LOOK at this great new thing they’re making!  LOOK at this amazing new building.  LOOK at the fancy cars/phones/drones/robots YOU CAN’T BUY.

      It all reminds me of a different time, when the Soviet Union and the Eastern bloc were still a thing, and there was a certain fascination there (mainly from young people) with all things American.  Denim pants, pop stars, cars (believe it or not), even McDonald’s.  The amazing list of things that were off-limits or rebellious or whatever.

      From about 2018-2022 I kept a private typewritten journal documenting the decay of the American empire, but lately I feel it’s getting pushed in my face quite obviously.  My personal example is the Chinese excavator I purchased fresh off the boat at auction a few years ago for just under $3000.  Roughly the same as the $20,000+ mini excavator I had rented at the local Home Depot for $1000 a week.  An item impossible to produce or sell in America in the 21st century.

      All this to say, whatever else is going on in the news, the big picture is The American Empire is already dead.  No one wants what is for sale.  And American eyes turn enviously elsewhere looking at how good everyone else has it.  Some people are in denial about it, but there’s going to be a day soon when it just collapses on itself.  Can’t wait.

      A common and misleading technique in the rhetoric of selling… a body of methods that indeed can sell dead cats to the board of health…is to claim that a product is “more efficient”….there are variations in language we’ve all heard. And infact very often the claim is true, but the implication is – and this has long been obvious to the skeptical eye – the implication is false. The “cats” they sell are actually, well, dead.

          Well, camels too… There was no doubt about his character before…so I suppose he lost nothing by it….but you never know. More important, I think, he has revealed his state of mind. His contempt for the class that has used him, and despair too…as he’s saying that he’s nothing to lose. He admits that his days are numbered.

Probably not…first one, then the other follows.

      MrP, you asked to search out a specific document in German and hopefully get a proper translation for us.  I am falling over my fingers.

      The second link is not available – document is not there.  The next link (3rd) and I am not sure if this is the doc that you meant, is by Udo Ulfkotte.  Is that the document?  It is a pdf which makes translating a challenge.  In fact, my translate button is not even available for that one.   But if that is the correct document, I can download it and push through with another translator (I think).

      Alternative is to do a AI search for similar content by the lady that you mentioned, and get an AI translation.

      A good document is what we need.  Or a good description and good name of the author.  I don’t recognize a good document because my German is forgotten at school.  What is next?

          Ah! Well, Thanks very kindly. Zarael did a good translation of the presentation. When I listened to Zarael’s translation, and wrote of it, I was not aware of the more directly available video. If you follow the german and read the subtitles I think you’ll find the auto-translation pretty fair. Gabriele Krone-Schmalz, while never uttering the word “rhetoric” is actually analyzing precisely that…the rhetorical techniques used to create popular delusion and thus “consent”. Nazi rhetoric, to say it bluntly…at one point, iirc, she quotes Herman Goering: “Why, of course, the people don’t want war. Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally, the common people don’t want war; neither in Russia nor in England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood.
