      Who knows what would have happen had they let him live…so talented..

      This is a concert in Ann Arbour Michigan in 1971, when  John Lennon joined The Freedom Rally for John Sinclair. Sinclair had been given 10 years in prison for the possession of two marijuana cigarettes. To bad the quality of the video is so poor

      No music, no poems just a story about a wonderful and funny day …

      A slice of life yesterday.

      We had a long power interruption and everyone was standing on their porches this morning, looking at one another.  But I have lovely neighbors and they said .. shit!  let’s go shopping.  We still live under airconditioning as it is still too hot for this time of the year and nobody wanted to spend a day inside in this heat.  This season does not want to change as we should have had cooler weather a month plus ago, already.  So, I spent the day in retail therapy – but only food and basics but taking time to do it as I usually rush to get back to the site.  So, I spent an absolutely charming day, with two very charming Buddhist neighbors and snagged a lovely pajama dress.

      The joke of the day ..by accident, at the sweet bread and bun and pastry aisle (we pick them out here with a big pair of tongs on a round tray and then go for wrapping up and pricing) by absolute mistake … I had my big tray in my left hand, tongs in my right hand and tried to shake my bag hanging over my left shoulder as this was trying to fall off.  So, I lost the tongs for a second and grabbing for it, I grabbed the bum of the man ahead of me.  He just packed up laughing, and I got blood red blushing and made as if I knew nothing first, only to have everyone burst out laughing and eventually I packed up laughing as well.  Aah these Latins are full of life and fun.   I apologized profusely and of course he quipped .. no no, do it again!

      So, this was a slice of life yesterday.

      A Slice of Life

      the rhythm of life;                                                                                                                                                                      heaven and earth breathing in,                                                                                                                                                    then out, together

      children’s laughter,                                                                                                                                                                        deaf to their parents’ appeals;                                                                                                                                                “inside now, you’ll catch your death!”

      while angels gather                                                                                                                                                                           on the head of a pin,                                                                                                                                                                  lovers allocate limbs and hearts

      a slice of life;                                                                                                                                                                                having one’s cake                                                                                                                                                                            and eating it too

      marshalling the hosts                                                                                                                                                                        of the Mighty HU;                                                                                                                                                                                a plague of human ills!

      From This Mountaintop

      All the suns and the planets, the moons and the stars,
      Held aloft in the heavens like so many props;
      Plot their well-trodden courses and write their memoirs,
      I can see it all so clearly from this mountaintop.

      All the birds of the air and the creatures of earth,
      Scarpering and scampering, they clamber and hop;
      In life and in death they live out their worth,
      I can see it all so clearly from this mountaintop.

      All the troubles and the turmoil and the waves of unrest,
      All the famines and the wars that are fought non-stop;
      Nothing more and no less than Souls put to the test,
      I can see it all so clearly from this mountaintop.

      All the pleasures and the pains and the tears that you cried,
      All the wins and the losses and the embarrassing flops;
      Served no other purpose but to reave you of pride,
      I can see it all so clearly from this mountaintop.

      All the mis-starts and the missteps and the misjudgements too,
      All the half-loves and the half-truths so over the top;
      So painstakingly prepared just to lead me to you…
      I can see it all so clearly from this mountaintop!
