  I’m still reeling from and dealing with the tech craziness from yesterday. More exploits came out today, all my old stuff is dead in the water. Not sure what I’ll do. Anyways, today’s research was a bit constrained by that, FWIW.

      Yup, Powell set a precedent for how the ruling class would take back their power and wealth, a precedent that’s been playing out for 55 years now. Followed shortly thereafter by the Club of Rome stuff. I think for all the negativity swirling in the air, all the fait accompli around us – there is a hint of desperation in the air. I think AI was rushed out before it was fully ready, for example. There is a “now or never” sense to the moves being made on the chessboard, a realization that if the ruling class doesn’t strike the fatal blow soonish, they lose the whole battle.

  This is just a smidgen of what is happening in Asia and of course something similar in Europe and everywhere else as well:
  
  Governments and companies worldwide are racing to patch vulnerabilities in the widely used PHP programming language after experts reported a surge in exploit attempts.
  
  The flaws had lurked in the software for years before being uncovered using AI. PHP developers released urgent fixes on Wednesday, urging all users to update immediately.
  
  Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince said attempts jumped from thousands in the 10 hours before disclosure to tens of thousands within 45 minutes, hundreds of thousands within 2 hours, and millions now.

  We work with mostly free and open source software. It is the nature of the internet. Imagine a major number of the equivalent of script kiddies tackling the whole internet stack with AI, to find more vulnerabilities.
  
  Periol was quite right to show serious concern (outright panic and I joined him in that last evening, when I started thinking it through), and we’ve not even thought it through properly. I add my voice to his and perhaps we’ve glimpsed the top of an iceberg. AI groups are now tackling banks and individual accounts.
