🔻 WS: I’m sure the Russians are looking forward to having a few more Bradley IFVs to shoot at. There are few (if any) left in Ukraine. They’re fat targets, and they burn quite nicely.
⭕ 🔻 C1: 3rd biggest US foreign creditor UK is mothballing its aircraft carriers…is that so the UK can afford to continue to compete with Caymans to be the biggest month/month buyer of USTs as UK is once again in the latest data? 🤔
🔻 WS: 📜 Dinosaurs of the Deep Blue Sea
“I submit that, in the context of a great power war, the aircraft carrier was effectively proven obsolete in 1945.”
⭕🔻 Ian Ellis: Surge deployment — the Carl Vinson carrier strike group quietly departed San Diego yesterday for a Pacific deployment (USNI)

Vinson previously deployed to the Pacific from October 2023 to February 2024 and participated in the RIMPAC exercises near Hawaii from June to August.
      🔻 WS: ❓ “Surge” Deployment?

In what possible sense does the deployment of CSG-1 (Vinson) constitute a “surge”?

Assuming CSG-3 (Lincoln) is headed home, and given that CSG-5 (Washington) and CSG-8 (Truman) are the only other deployed CSGs, we’re still talking about a total of 3 out of 11 — which is the maximum number of combat-capable carrier strike groups the US Navy has been able to simultaneously put to sea for many years now.
      [picking up on recent thread:]
🤔 Thoughts on Missile Strikes “Deep into Russia”

      🔹ATACMS …
🔻 C1: One of these missiles gets through, hits a Russian apartment complex and kills hundreds, game on.

The Deep State is counting on a massive Russian response so they can play the victim and justify war with Russia.

Most Americans are oblivious to the US trying to pick a fight.
🔻 WS: The Pentagon wants nothing to do with a war against Russia — a war they would lose, even if it didn’t go nuclear.
🔻 C2: I agree with what you’re trying to say, but I have to point out that a 200km kill range by *any* SAM versus a fighter is extremely optimistic, not conservative.
🔻 C3: Do a Google search for 40N6 and then come back and tell us what you found.
🔻 C2: I know what a 40N6 is lmao. You’re still talking about > 60 second interception time vs non maneuvering target. Again, with optimal tactics by both sides, this should be very low PK
🔻 WS: I’m not entirely certain I understand what you’re trying to say, but if you believe any US aircraft can outmaneuver or outrun a pair of 40N6E interceptors, let alone a pair of R-37s, then you are mistaken.
🔻 C2: Have you ever heard the term “missile envelope”? If a missile is fired at a target at its maximum kinematic range, *any* course deviation away from the launcher will cause the missile to miss.

For a target on a constant course and speed, the envelope looks like a mushroom. Between the maximum kinematic range and the no-escape range, there remains the possibility of kinematically defeating the missile by simply dropping altitude and flying directly away from the track signal. This is complicated somewhat by TVM (track-via-missile) which precludes launch warning and closure estimation, but the large sites like S300,400,500 are permanent and the pilot would be aware of their locations and still have rough estimates of range.
🔻 WS: First of all, there is a reason I specified 200km as the kill radius for Russian long-range SAMs and AAMs.

Secondly, the 40N6E and R-37 have active/semi-active homing. The R-37 has mid-course correction. US/NATO fighters cannot evade or outrun these interceptors.
🔻 C2: Lmao buddy I’m not biased, Russian IADS are the best in the words no doubt, but you clearly are out of your depth here. No weapons system is omnipotent. Evading SAMs is a matter of physics. There will never be a SAM that is impossible for any fighter to evade
🔻 WS: I repeat: inside a 200km radius, the ability of ANY US/NATO fighter to evade or outrun a pair of Russian 40N6E or R-37 is effectively nil. I won’t say it’s entirely impossible, but it is HIGHLY unlikely.

My good friend @MihajlovicMike may like to interject on this topic as well.
🔻 C2: You can repeat yourself all you like, there’s still no argument between your premises and your conclusion. Russia has eaten our lunch on IADS front, but the point about SAMs in the OP is exaggerated.
🔻 WS: I just re-read my original post. Please cite the part where you believe I “exaggerated” anything about Russian SAM capabilities.
🔻 C2: Again, I agree with everything else you said. In the context of your OP, this amounts to nitpicking
🔻 WS: I should say that you have been very gracious throughout our little discussion. And I have probably been more confrontational than I would typically be with someone deserving of respect, as you are. I can get that way sometimes with the hordes of “US air power reigns supreme” people I face from day to day.

And, upon reflection, I have to confess that neither I nor anyone else can be certain what will happen if/when top-shelf US fighter aircraft face off against top-shelf Russian AD, fighters, and missile tech.

This much is certain: even the Russians themselves were exceedingly wary of challenging Ukraine’s older generation S-300 and Buk systems in the early stages of this war.

And I distinctly remember listening, about a year ago, to the audio recording of a Russian pilot flying either an Su-27 or Su-35, as he interacted with ground radar personnel while attempting to outmaneuver / outrun a pair of PAC-3 missiles. It was a harrowing couple minutes (the Russian audio was subtitled in English). And you could hear how strenuous it was for the pilot to make repeated max-G maneuvers as he reacted to directions from the radar guys on the ground.

Anyway, although part of me hopes we never have to see what will happen in the event of a major US air campaign against Russia, there is still another part of me that would like to find out the objective truth of the matter. If, as I strongly suspect, US air power would be revealed as highly vulnerable, I think it would ultimately be one of the most salutary and sobering things that could happen to the US.
🔻 C2: I’m not sure exactly what avionics the Su27 in the example is packing, but the original Su27s had terrible equipment for this sort of thing, so the pilot was likely flying with last gen defences against current gen SAMs
🔻 WS: As I said, I don’t recall for sure what aircraft was involved. All I remember for sure is that it was evading PAC-3 interceptors.

Maybe someone else can find the audio clip in question. I posted about it at the time. But I haven’t tried to search for it in my history.
🔻 C2: I mentioned in my first reply. A “200 km kill radius” is not conservative, it is optimistic for the defenders. Even for S400.
🔻 WS: Well … I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree on that point.

I will be interested in what @MihajlovicMike thinks.
🔻 @MihajlovicMike: Before delving into the concept of air defense system effectiveness, it is essential to elucidate the distinctions between efficiency and effectiveness. Per P. Drucker’s insights, efficiency denotes “doing things right,” while effectiveness signifies “doing the right things.” Efficiency is quantified by the ratio of effects to costs, reflecting the precision in execution, whereas effectiveness gauges the extent to which objectives are accomplished.

The efficacy of a weapon system is measured by the degree of success anticipated in achieving its designated goals.

Effectiveness can be considered as a product of Availability (A), Reliability (R), and Capability (C). The effectiveness of an air defense system is gauged by its capability to fulfill predefined objectives and tasks within specific temporal and operational constraints.2

      Effectiveness = 𝐴∗𝑅∗𝐶.

When we talk about the effectiveness of air defense, we are talking about certain margins that greatly depend on the specific system. There is no such thing as a 100% effective integrated AD system. Many individual components combined in a broad scope can yield some parameters and numbers of integrated air defense, but these numbers shall always be taken with reserve.
What is the reason for this reserve? Firstly, when an individual system is designed, one of the first requirements is to be able to hit the target with reasonable probability (“doing things right”). For the sake of exercise and to play with the numbers, the probability of hitting a target with one missile is broadly accepted in older systems as an average of 75%. Because of that, a typical target is engaged with 2 or more missiles, which increases the probability to 95-99%. What happened with that 1 %? Simply put, that is used as a margin, meaning designers will try to avoid that magic probability of 100% speaking in general but would rather use wording such as “likely,” “highly likely,” or “with the greatest probability.” These numbers are related to the design requirements and the proving ground test results. Combat situations are something different, and in this situation, random and stochastic events happen.

A target can be of many different shapes and flying envelopes. To simplify, hitting a big “fat” non-maneuvering target such as a transport or passenger plane that does not have any means of knowing that it is targeted can be almost 100%, but the probability of hitting a highly maneuverable, low-flying target with stealth characteristics can be as low as 5-10%. In any case, this crucially depends on the particular missile system and associated components. Launching 2 or more missiles per single target increases the probability of success.

AD is engaging the targets within the engagement zone and typically will not launch at the farthest edge simply because it will give the target more time for evasion. 200 km for 40N6E or R-37 is within the optimal engagement zone. At this distance, for example, to achieve the declared probability (90+%) of a hit, AD will launch 2 or even 3 missiles. Multichannel guidance and correction in flight do not leave much space for the target, but there is no guarantee of 100% hit.
🔻 C4: What military purpose do these long range NATO missiles serve? Or are they like the V2 rockets of 1944/5, a sure sign that the jig is up?
      https://www.iwm.org.uk/history/why-the-v2-rocket-was-a-big-mistake
🔻 WS: First of all, they’re not “long range”. That is a misnomer.

Second, they are effective weapons against an adversary that lacks the capability to shoot them down and/or jam their GPS guidance. Unfortunately for the US, the Russians can consistently defeat these missiles.
🔻 C4: Thanks for the clarification. So this confirms that these missiles serve no military purpose and are an admission of NATO’s failure in Ukraine, just as Hitler’s V2 programme was a sign of the regime’s final collapse and defeat.
🔻 Victor The Cleaner: A nuclear strike on London or Paris would be a single winning move. Neither of the two have a relevant second strike capability against Russia, and the US would not risk the destruction of their homeland just in order to avenge some idiots in Europe.
🔻 C6: In France we have submarines that can launch nuclear missiles.
🔻 Victor The Cleaner: How many can you launch simultaneously? How much will be left of France, and how much will be left of Russia? What’s different compared to the 1960s Cold War is the amount of raging idiots, that’s certain.
🔻 C6: You presume that all europeans are pro war with Russia. It’s not the case, it’s not my case.
I’m just saying that we can retaliate. One missile has like 10/12 nuclear warhead. One submarine has many missiles. And we have 4/5 submarines I believe. So…
🔻 Victor The Cleaner: No, I am not saying that. I am saying that a nuclear bomb on London or on Paris would be a winning move for Russia b/c it would expose NATO as a bluff and display the “cowardice” of America (which is not coward, but rather the only rational response in this case).
🔻 C6: I think that the english needs the authorization of americans to send their missiles. But in France we have our own nuclear program, with our own missiles. We would strike Russia without a doubt.
But I hope that we don’t come at this end. Nobody would win.
🔻 Victor The Cleaner: It is the stupidity of the millennium that NATO maneouvered themselves into this position. Basically every possible move is a losing move. You might think that Putin’s best people work at Whitehall.
🔻 C6: I think that it’s a good move on a tactical point of view. Even if I’m not agreeing with what they have done.
Russia is stuck, because if they want ton negociate with Trump, they can’t go too far.
They don’t want to start WWIII.
They have to endure it for 2 month.

The americans wants to support ukrainians in Kursk, to hold the front, to give them leverage in negotiations with Putin.
🔻 WS: Trump is irrelevant. The US has ZERO leverage in this matter. The Russians will dictate terms of surrender and disposition of territories, and demand NATO remove its missiles from Poland and Romania, and return to its pre-1997 borders.
      ⭕ Retweet:
🔻 C1: Ukraine attacked Russia with 6 American-made ballistic missiles.

Pres. Biden approved the use of these missiles on Sunday, another indication that Biden isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer.

US FOREIGN POLICY = ENDLESS WAR
🔻 WS: This is a misstatement of the facts.

      An accurate rendering would be:

“US/NATO operatives inside Ukraine attacked Russia with 6 American-made ballistic missiles.”

🔻 WS: I sure hope someone has kept a detailed archive of everything the inimitable Institute for the Study of War has published since its birth. It has been a master class in #EmpirePropaganda, and deserves its own course of study in future graduate programs around the globe.
      ⭕ 🔥 First Salvo Fail

The cumulative evidence indicates the first US salvo of ATACMS missiles “deep into Russia” was all whimper and no bang.

A mere 6 were launched at a target ~100km across the border. 5 were shot down, 1 was disabled, its debris igniting a couple small fires.
[apparently designed so. They’ve known the success-rates of Russkies against this crap for months. The purpose was to Breech the Red Line, to set the open contemptuous precedent, and before the UkroNazis became catatonic. Your move next, Russkie]
      🔻 C1: Thoughts on this thread? |THREAD|
🔻 WS: I don’t believe at all that Russia and Putin are in the midst of an existential crisis.

It is the US, NATO, the EU — The Empire — that is in the midst of an existential crisis.

Time is on Russia’s side. And China’s side. And Iran’s side.
🔻 C2: I thought a Mayo factory in Russia got hit in the past 24Hrs by Ukraine?
That’ll change the math on the Frontline.
🔻 WS: I have it on good authority that the Russians religiously disperse their mayonnaise manufacturing capacity so that abundant supply can never be threatened.

It is an essential component in the potato salad supply chain.
🔻 C3: And ukros were flashing around what seemed to be the video of Tver strike.
🔻 WS: I have seen exactly ZERO evidence that munitions stockpiles of any kind were hit.
🔻 C3: Yeah. What I meant was that ukros are recycling old video of Tver strike as proof of this salvo of 6 atacms
🔻 WS: Yeah. I’ve seen some of it. I think some of the “NATO is using mini-nukes against Russia” crowd is at least partly responsible as well.
⭕🔻 Elbridge Colby: The responsibility for this conflict and its deteriorating evolution belongs *squarely* on the shoulders of the liberal-primacist alliance. They have clearly controlled policy from 2021 to now. Any suggestion to the contrary is facially wrong.
🔻 WS: 🤡🌍 This is context-denying ahistorical nonsense.

Sure, the whole thing came to full fruition during the early Biden administration, but the imperial debacle in Ukraine was decades in the making, and was always an enthusiastically omni-partisan transatlantic undertaking.

      “So this confirms that these missiles serve no military purpose…”  All military actions are intended to produce a political change. As remarked in another context above, the political change intended may well be to create ground for a false flag nuclear explosion in zone Kiev. Thus, eliminating some of the co-conspiratorial nazis such that they cannot be arrested by Red Force, or give evidence at trial. Physical evidence also, naturally, would be made non-available.  Incidentally, the nazi heimatvolk would be prepared to see a FF anywhere in nazi zone west as attributable to the Red Force, when in reality it would have been one of the nifty items from Livermore and GE… Note too, that the zone US has dropped these things on its own turf both deliberately and accidentally since 1945. The downwind people from test Trinity continue to sicken and die. As to nazi air force vs Red rockets, I would remark that no nazi flyers have been in peer-combat since about 1952.       • The West was wary of the approval of this document (https://t.me/SputnikInt/70835), and they understand that such a step largely devalues the efforts of the United States and NATO to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia;
      • The West is aware of the need for greater restraint in relations with Russia in order to not get involved in a catastrophic military conflict itself.

“In 1948, the Israeli state fell on Palestinian lands like a meteorite falls, scorching the space around it, leaving a gaping crater. Since then, Israel has been expelling Palestinians from their ancestral lands, filling camps with Palestinian refugees, and filling its dungeons with Palestinian rebels. The Palestinians are a martyr people, a warrior people, a herald of justice. The battle between the Palestinians and Israel is a battle between the oppressed and the torturers & executioners.

…Gaza is a suicide city. Gaza is a gas chamber where children and the elderly suffocate in agony. If you want to understand what godlessness and cruelty are, look at the ruins of Gaza, which are oozing with blood, and every stone screams with the voice of a murdered child, every fragment of the wall is filled with prayers of murdered women and old people.

Israel is the nurse of America. Billions of dollars go from America to Israel, feeding the Israeli army, establishing a system in Israel that pleases America. The Palestinians, fighting Israel, are fighting America. The Russian army, fighting in Ukraine, is fighting America. America is the enemy of Palestine and the enemy of Russia.

The Palestinians, by raising an uprising in Gaza, distracted the power of America, which moved its aircraft carriers and strategic bombers to the Middle East, and it became easier for Russian soldiers at Kupyansk and Avdiivka. The Hamas attack on Israel, the burning Merkava tanks, the captured Israeli generals – all this destroyed the myth of Israel’s invincibility.

I was in the Gaza Strip and I saw how this prison is arranged. Gaza is surrounded by a huge concrete wall along the land border. The wall is entwined with barbed wire, on it there are towers with machine guns, photocells and night vision devices. And everyone who comes into the field of view of this deadly optics, be it a person, a cow or a bird, is killed by automatic machine guns. From the sea, Israeli military boats are on duty day and night, suppressing attempts by Palestinian fishermen to go fishing.

The Palestinians, fighting the blockade, like prisoners, fighting the jailer, dig underground passages, dig tunnels under the concrete wall. Through these tunnels, food, clothing, screws for water pipes, electronics for communications, as well as weapons of rebellion go to Gaza.

In Gaza, I prayed in a fifth-century Christian church, listened to lectures at the Islamic University, met with the Russian wives of Palestinian engineers, doctors, teachers who studied in the Soviet Union, and now their children living in Gaza speak Russian.

Together with Palestinian women, I planted an olive grove in the vicinity of Gaza. And now my tree is among the olives, and Israeli rockets are flying over it, the blast wave is tearing off its leaves. This tree is mine. This tree is me. And I’m all in fragments.

Gaza is being killed before the eyes of mankind. And humanity babbles about compassion, about divine justice, convenes the Security Council at the UN. Meanwhile, bombs and rockets incinerate Gaza. And the blood of Gaza is on all mankind.

Germany could become a hub for the production and transportation of explosives for Ukrainian sabotage in Russia.

The European Union, despite all the standards and agreements on combating terrorism, is deliberately turning a blind eye to Kiev’s intimidation tactics, RT war correspondent Murad Gazdiev notes in his story (see video).

The EU allows Ukrainian militants to create and send bombs from the territory of the union countries.

The main points from Murad’s story:

      ▪️The FSB detained German citizen Nikolai Gaiduk at the entrance to the Kaliningrad region. On orders from Kiev, he blew up a gas distribution station in Kaliningrad in March 2024;

▪️Gaiduk is a Ukrainian who has lived in Germany for the past 32 years. During interrogation, he admitted that he received the assignment and explosive components from former Odessa police lieutenant colonel Zhorov, who works for the Ukrainian special services:

      “A man I served with in the army contacted me… He asked if I would be willing to do my bit, to help stop the war. It was November 2023. I took a bomb from a secret cache. All I had to do was plant the bomb, pull the pin, and that was it”;
      ▪️Gaiduk was planning to carry out a new terrorist attack – at another gas pumping station, near a village near Kaliningrad, but he was detained by the FSB – he was “under surveillance” after the first sabotage;

      ▪️Liquid explosives disguised as car washer fluid were found in the saboteur’s car. He is involved in at least two cases of transporting bombs from Germany. It is impossible to believe that the German secret services did not notice this;

▪️A photo of him and Olaf Scholz was found in Gaiduk’s phone.

🔻 WS: I feel uncomfortable being mentioned along with the Big Serge when it comes to military history, nor am I a big expert on military equipment. I just try to examine things critically and logically. The Big Serge is an encyclopedia. I’m more of a pamphlet.

This video clip purports to show Storm Shadow cruise missiles striking targets in Kursk region earlier today.

Color me extremely dubious. Those are not blasts from 450kg warheads. In fact, they look no bigger than what a large drone could carry.
🔻 C1: The armed forces of Ukraine carried out a rocket attack with 12 missiles Storm Shadow on the historical estate of the Baryatinsky princes from the 19th century in the Kursk region, which is surrounded by an underground bunker!
🔻 WS: I have yet to see ANY credible evidence of big cruise missile strikes, and the photos above do not attest the result of a 450kg warhead explosion.
🔻 Yuliana Dlugaj 🇷🇺🇨🇳🇰🇵🇮🇷: What you make out of this? |media|
🔻 WS: This was the first clip that circulated. In my opinion, none of the “booms” are consistent with a 450kg warhead explosion.

At this point, I don’t believe a Storm Shadow attack occurred.
🔻 Yuliana Dlugaj 🇷🇺🇨🇳🇰🇵🇮🇷: I agree, this doesn’t come close to the damage of a 450kg warhead.

Can you make out the sounds before the explosion?
🔻 C3: It does sound jet propelled whatever hit , but why the interest , the estate is listed as a tourist attraction
🔻 WS: I have seen the video clip to which I believe you are referring. Does not sound like jet engines to me. Sounds like rockets. “IF” a strike was launched earlier today on the target in question, I believe it was most likely GMLRS rockets from HIMARS.
🔻 C3: There again I don’t believe Ukraine has got six serviceable SU24 which is what would be needed to launch 12 storm shadow missiles ,
      It’s all a bit of a mystery
🔻 C4: No.. Storm Shadow. But i think is just a “propaganda act”
[he posted photos of their “shrapnel” as in leading photo]
🔻 WS: As I have already asked multiple times: what is the provenance of these photos?
🔻 C4: The original post is from “two majors”, I think
🔻 WS: Yes, they were apparently the first to “post” the photos. That does not answer the question of provenance.

And, for the record, I do not consider Two Majors a reliable source of information.
🔻 C4: Well, that’s your opinion and I respect it. I think that the AFU have sought a place without Russian air defence and their action was to show that they can attack without being shot down. But I’m not an expert. “Milinfolive” it’s quite reliable when talks about weapons.
🔻 Yuliana Dlugaj 🇷🇺🇨🇳🇰🇵🇮🇷: Britain’s a tiny island, so naturally, their weapons are only allowed to make tiny explosions.

Let’s be real, though—this looks nothing like a 450kg warhead. More like a drone or some MLRS firework.
🔻 C5: Britain is also an incompetent corrupt land that usually does things half arsed. It would be of no surprise to me if the missiles were only half effective.
🔻 WS: Additionally, I don’t believe the Ukrainians have 6 air-worthy Su-24s capable of launching 12 Storm Shadow missiles. And I don’t believe NATO aircraft from Polish airbases would have dared do it.
🔻 C6: F-16’s they just got some new danish ones?
🔻 WS: The Ukrainians are not flying any F-16s.
🔻 C7: It’s a small distance, maybe they can be launched some other way?
🔻 WS: They cannot be launched in any other way.
🔻 C8: No, they probably launched them from one of the Baltic states.
🔻 WS: Nonsense. Impossible. Way beyond Storm Shadow range.
🔻 C8: I meant that the planes used might have come from the Baltic states, my bad.
🔻 WS: I understood that. There is no way a half-dozen NATO aircraft flew over most of Belarus, rose to high-altitude, launched a dozen cruise missiles into Russia, and flew back to Lithuania.
🔻 C9: That’s my thoughts too, no way Ukraine launched these, I think the British did
🔻 WS: To me, the only logical conclusion so far is that no air-launched cruise missiles were fired into Russia.
🔻 C10: Why is Russia taking so long to respond. You have to be decisive. All ATACM missile sites should be destroyed ASAP
🔻 WS: The Russian high command apparently doesn’t share your perspective on these matters.

ATACMS is a highly mobile missile system. And, as this most recent salvo has again confirmed: the Russians are able to consistently defeat most if not all of them in the salvo sizes seen so far.
🔻 C11: Then who lunched them?
🔻 WS: At this point, I don’t believe any such strike occurred.
🔻 C12: So why are the Russians threatening us with we3?
🔻 WS: I am not aware of the Russians having said ANYTHING regarding a Storm Shadow strike in Kursk.
[exactly. All this BS is an optical provocation, if only a narrative filler to say, “red lines can be crossed without consequence”..]
🔻 C13: Whats the response to the fragments of storm shadows found at the explosion site?
🔻 WS: What “explosion site”? There has been no provenance provided for these pieces of debris; no evidence of where they came from; no chain of custody.
      [continuation of another thread]
      🔥 First Salvo Fail

The cumulative evidence indicates the first US salvo of ATACMS missiles “deep into Russia” was all whimper and no bang.

A mere 6 were launched at a target ~100km across the border. 5 were shot down, 1 was disabled, its debris igniting a couple small fires.
      🔻 C1: They simpley haven’t started yet; |media|
🔻 WS: What are you talking about? There have been at least 200 – 300 ATACMS fired at Russian targets since October 2023, and even more Storm Shadow / SCALP-EG cruise missiles. A few have gotten through, but the overwhelming majority have been shot down.
🔻 C2: Do you think Russia has the capabilities to deal with JASSM? I read somewhere that there are plans to introduce them in the conflict.
🔻 WS: JASSM are slow, easily jammed, and not hard to shoot down. They must be launched from high-altitude, they fly high, and are easily detected and targeted. Even the Syrians have shot down some of them. JASSM would be less effective than the easily defeated SCALP-EG.
🔻 C2: Glad to hear. That said it looks like Russia is waiting for the moment when the West has used its available offensive hightech to leverage its own technology. I understand the doomers, but nobody said when Russia would retaliate.
      ⭕Retweet:
🔻 Armchair Warlord: First the Ukrainians blow up the mayo factory, then they shoot 12 cruise missiles at an outhouse in Kursk.

Look, if you guys don’t want to fight the war seriously you can just do what most Europeans do and get into really violent and intense soccer rivalries or something.
🔻 WS: Where is the credible evidence that Storm Shadow cruise missiles struck any target in Kursk? I have seen none. At this point, I don’t believe any cruise missiles were even launched.
🔻 C2: Do you think it is all a war games psyop?
🔻 WS: Absent any credible evidence of cruise missile strikes, and given that the quadcopter video of the purported strike has apparently been identified as an October 11th HIMARS strike, it would appear to be a disinfo operation.
🔻 C2: OK. And what do you make of the Warlord’s suggestion that the Ukrainians have got capacity to launch ATACAMS as MLRS – without the targeting cryptography enabling? UAF gone rogue and placement of story in NYT as cover?
🔻 WS: I don’t discount the possibility that there are Ukrainian specialists ABLE to do it. But I strongly doubt that they are PERMITTED to do it — or that they even have control over the missiles and the HIMARS/M-270 launchers fitted out for ATACMS.

All the ATACMS strikes since October 2023 have strictly conformed to US-dictated rules of engagement. I don’t believe the Ukrainians would have been sufficiently restrained and disciplined had they been in direct control of the missiles and launchers.
🔻 C3: Are US personnel with the launchers. Seems risky given how many himars have been taken out.
🔻 WS: At least several hundred “US personnel” have died in Ukraine in this war.
🔻 C4: Priest class infuriated with “cowardly” warrior class – God Wills it after all – attempting to create the conditions for greater war?
⭕ 🔹 What We Know So Far:

There has been no Russian official comment about a Storm Shadow missile strike in Kursk region.

The missile debris photos have no known provenance.

The video shot in the town is uninformative.

The quadcopter video is of a HIMARS strike from October 11. |THREAD|

⭕ ❗️Here’s what actually happened today.

      😎Source: Trust me bro.
⭕️ 🇷🇺🇺🇦 About the strike with an ICBM on Dnipro

Last night, Russian forces carried out another attack on Ukrainian territories. The most significant was the strike on the industrial enterprise “Yuzhmash” in Dnipro, during which an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) could have been used.

According to some signs, an ICBM (evident from the characteristic separating warheads) was indeed likely used, which would be the first successful combat use of such a weapon system in the history of military conflicts.

The warheads were in a non-nuclear configuration. Although there are rumors about the RS-26 “Rubezh”, the type of missile is not reliably known. Ukrainian forces were unable to shoot down the ICBM, as evidenced by the footage of the impacts.

❗️This can be seen as a clear signal to the sponsors of the so-called Ukraine (especially on the anniversary of the Maidan) against the backdrop of the West’s permission to use long-range missiles. How well they understood it – time will tell. But today’s strike is indeed a non-trivial move, as nothing like this has happened before.

And there are reasons to believe that this will not be the last such use.

All nations who supported and continue supplying #Israel with weapons should be taken to court, mainly the #US and #Germany.

All Arab countries with relations with Israel should cut all ties immediately.
⭕ The court considered what Netanyahu and Gallant said in person on TV is enough to start with.

It can’t believe it killed only 44,000 people in Gaza, including only 17,000 children and 18,000 women, hundreds of UN employees and journalists, declared there were no civilians in Gaza, and destroyed the Strip after cutting off water and electricity and demolishing homes, schools and hospitals. They learned to embrace them as friends, and to work together with them towards common goals.

Most importantly, they learned how to live in peace with people whose value systems differ from our own. They learned that you cannot force your values, judgments, and cultural preferences on people who view things differently.

And if the Russians then opt to retaliate in the context of “a state of war” …

Well … if I were in Putin’s shoes, and I concluded a counterstrike was imperative, I would go big. Not too big. But a LOT bigger than was expected.

I’d sink one of the pathetic new UK aircraft carriers with a long-range missile strike. A full salvo of at least half a dozen large warheads. Maybe a full dozen just to be sure.

Make a large point. From air, land, and naval vectors.

Do the job right the first time.

It would be a radically sobering global event.

Many of the elite power centers in Britain would privately praise the deed of putting one of those pathetic “ships” out of its misery.

The Americans would bloviate and bluster about “preserving the rules-based international order”, and then they would, over the course of a few weeks, trace a delicate retreat.

As I’ve said repeatedly, the US military only has one major campaign left in them. A very brief campaign.

The choice is between Russia, China, and Iran.

📜 To Nuke or Not to Nuke?

That is the question on the minds of many people as they consider the possibilities of open war breaking out between America et al. and Russia et al.

Would conventional war between the United States and the Russian Federation inevitably lead to a nuclear clash?

A great many people are convinced that it would. I understand their reasoning. And I can certainly envision multiple plausible scenarios that might very well lead to such an outcome. I will discuss a few of them further below. But first a few thoughts in preface:

Resorting to nuclear weapons is a “point-of-no-return” decision.

      It’s a murder-suicide move.

And I strongly doubt any of the great nuclear powers are suicidal.

I have also long entertained the admittedly romantic notion that both the Americans and the Russians would much prefer to test their mettle mano a mano on the field of conventional battle.

The Americans fancy themselves the greatest empire and the mightiest military power the world has ever seen. American folklore (the word for “history” in American English) has imbued them with the conviction that Americans are a great and noble warrior nation.

Religious and irreligious; ascetic and hedonistic; rich and poor — and all points in between — the vast majority of Americans subscribe to an ontological ethos that presupposes the exceptionalism of America and its unique mission to spread freedom and democracy across the globe.

Russians, on the other hand, see themselves as yet again the target of a messianic western hegemon that despises them as inferior, and covets the almost limitless natural treasures of their vast territory.

Russians also see themselves — and justifiably so — as the decisive victor in great wars against a messianic western hegemon in both the 19th and 20th centuries. From their perspective here in the 21st century, they are facing yet a third iteration of this centuries-old conflict.

In other words, Russia is convinced they are already engaged in war against the American Empire, and it has the same existential quality they associate with the previous attempts to conquer and divide them.

Consequently, they have been furiously preparing since early summer 2022 for the distinct possibility that, sooner or later, the Americans would feel compelled to escalate beyond the machinations of sustaining a proxy force, and would directly intervene militarily in order to “save the day”.

Back in April 2023, I wrote at length on this reality: Russia Is Winning with One Hand Tied Behind Its Back.

Meanwhile the Russians have continued to methodically grind down the empire’s proxy army. They have decisively repulsed and comprehensively destroyed the third and final reconstitution of its NATO-supplied strength.

And contrary to the widespread belief among the misinformed masses of “experts” and casual observers in the west, Russia has not suffered a “strategic defeat” nor has its military capability and its productive capacity been diminished.

From a military and industrial standpoint, Russia is stronger, relative to its adversaries, than at any time since the height of Soviet power, and its progress towards even greater strength is accelerating.

And, perhaps most significantly, Russian sense of purpose and unity has not, since the Great Patriotic War, been embraced with such conviction by such a high percentage of the Russian populace.

They devoutly believe their cause is just.

And although history attests the Russians can often be slow to harness, once they become a team in harmony, they transform into a nimble, heavy-fisted, and highly resourceful military force.

By deliberately bringing to pass this war in Ukraine, the fools calling the shots in the halls of empire have instead brought into being a confident and assertive Russia that has trebled in relative strength over the past two years of high-intensity conflict.

Whereas the US and its European NATO vassals have seen their arsenals severely attrited and the mediocrity of their fragile and inefficacious machines exposed over the past two years, Russian equipment has proven durable and highly effective for the required tasks of 21st century industrial warfare, even as they have rapidly achieved an industrial scale of war production.

And whereas the supposed geniuses of NATO have seen three successive iterations of their material and tactical handiwork get systematically shredded by the Russian way of war, the Russians have adapted, innovated, and produced at scale to a degree the west simply cannot match now, and could not act to match anytime soon.

So that’s where we stand here in early 2024.

The Russians are winning the war in Ukraine, and winning it big. They will, on whatever timetable they choose, dictate the terms of its ultimate resolution.

On the broader geopolitical and diplomatic front, they are winning the war even bigger.

As are the Chinese and the Iranians.

The Russia, China, Iran axis that is rapidly solidifying is, by far, the most potent adversary western hegemony has faced since its inception centuries ago.

And that brings us to my list of plausible scenarios for nuclear war.

The only plausible scenarios I can envision for nuclear war presuppose the first use will be initiated by the #EmpireAtAllCosts cult.

Russia has no need to resort to nuclear weapons. It is securely fixed on a trajectory to total victory — even if the US et al. prove foolish enough to intervene directly in a conventional war against them.

The most unpredictable and therefore worrisome scenario entails tactical nuclear weapons being introduced into the Ukraine war via some rogue actor.

There are several prohibitive logistical and tactical considerations that come to my mind when I consider this possibility, but in the final analysis it occurs to me there is only one reality that matters:

ANY detonation of a nuclear weapon against a Russian target will be automatically regarded, by the Russians, as a nuclear first strike by the US/NATO.

Therefore, providing Ukraine with nuclear weapons would be tantamount to intentionally provoking a full-scale nuclear counterstrike.

Is there some locus of power in the world that is able and willing to do such a thing?

      I sure hope not.

As for all the other plausible scenarios for nuclear war — scenarios involving deliberate state actors — I can only repeat what I wrote at the beginning:

Resorting to nuclear weapons is a “point-of-no-return” decision.

      It’s a murder-suicide move.

And I strongly doubt any of the great nuclear powers are suicidal.

      At least not yet.

There is nothing that you can do to prevent this, the West does not have an anti-missile system that can stop an attack coming in at Mach 10.

Elsewhere, I saw the Russia supposedly warned the US in advance about the missile attack today, to prevent any nuclear misinterpretations.

These are incredibly dangerous times, the time for sane people to de-escalate is right now.
      [regarding Putin’s address last night]
      ‼️ This is very serious.

People who believe Russia is bluffing are mistaken.

If the US/NATO attempt to strike Russia again, the Russians explicitly promise to counterstrike directly against US/NATO military bases.

      ‼️ Putin’s Solemn Warning

Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a short address earlier today, in which he reported on the events of the past two days, and issued an explicit warning to the United States and its allies.

      Official Transcript: http://en.kremlin.ru/events/president/news/75614
⭕ 🔻 Aaron Maté: According to the NYT, unnamed US and European officials have “even suggested that Mr. Biden could return nuclear weapons to Ukraine that were taken from it after the fall of the Soviet Union,” which “would be complicated and have serious implications.”

      Yes, implications like nuclear Armageddon.
      🔻 WS: This is nonsensical.

The US cannot “return” something to Ukraine that Ukraine NEVER possessed in the first place (the Russians ALWAYS retained control and launch codes). And all nuclear weapons from the former Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic were already returned to Russia.
🔻 C2: It would be wrong to assume the USA empire may not already secretly have nuclear weapons in “Ukraine”: it’s known the West’s statements deceive and the NATO proxy army already had HIMARS and ATACMS long before the dates they were said to officially be sent/authorized for use.
🔻 WS: You think the US is suicidal?

I don’t. At least not yet.
[LOL. He’s increasingly forced to throw in there the unwanted qualifier(s)]
⭕ ⚡️ Great analysis of Russia’s hypersonic missile strike, including corrections of several common misconceptions that have been circulating.

Associated Press (AP): BREAKING: Russia has supplied anti-air missiles to North Korea in exchange for the country sending more than 10,000 troops to support its war against Ukraine, a top South Korean official said. “]
🔻 C1: Following the usual film script, they will keep inviting ever more threats, coming from North Korea, until they’ve talked up North Korea to the extent it’s a formidable enemy that needs to be attacked.

A tactic proven to be successful ever since the WMD in Iraq.

      #regimechange
🔻 WS: North Korea is currently refining its own MIRV and MaRV technology for its ICBMs. That will throw a stick in the spokes of imperial designs against the DPRK.
🔻 C2: BBC radio on USA NPR has story on “1 million barrels of oil being sent to North Korea from Russia in the last 8 months”
(being a U.N. violation in that North Korea is “capped” @ 500,000 barrels per year).
      🔻 WS: Barrels per DAY.
      🔻 C2: Thanks, I missed that. /
🔻 WS: If it were possible to do for an American, I would invest in all three of the major “outcasts”: Russia, Iran, North Korea. I think all three countries will be in the ascendant for the next few decades.

⭕⚡️🇰🇵🇵🇸 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of North Korea wrote a rather, interesting article published on 10th of October.

“A detestable criminal country that needs to be swept away in a day.”

Israel’s genocidal campaign against Palestinians, which began in October last year, has continued year after year, and its means and methods have reached a point beyond human imagination, drawing the ire of the international community.

According to Palestine’s Wafa news agency, Israel’s rogue regime, which has no regard for international law and humanitarian principles, recently shocked the world by devising a “bill” to restrict the activities of the UNRWA, with the aim of massacring innocent Palestinians once again.

It is not enough that Israel has massacred more than 42,000 Palestinians and displaced more than 1.9 million Palestinians, more than 90% of the Palestinians in Gaza, in the past year since the outbreak of the Gaza crisis, but the Israeli criminal justice system’s anti-humanitarian blockade of UNRWA, which is aimed at completely exterminating an entire people, is a heinous act of human rights abuses and a despicable war crime.

The murderers, who are ruthlessly depriving people of their human rights, the most important of which is the right to survival, and plotting to cut off the last link of the refugees, and the unscrupulous human white elephants, who are toasting and laughing at the spectacle of bombing the inhabited areas of Gaza, are grossly violating humanity’s right to survival and development by expanding the scope of mass destruction to neighboring countries.

The international community is outraged that Israel, a dysfunctional country that ignores even the rudimentary notion of human rights and promotes extreme hateful ideas, and a country where criminals who take pleasure in human blood should never have existed on Earth in the first place.

All justice- and peace-oriented nations and progressive movements must unite to firmly defend human justice, conscience, and world peace by decisively stopping Israel’s criminal atrocities and expelling this cancerous cancer of human society from the face of the earth”.

Therefore, North Korea declares Israel as an entity that must be swept away or destroyed, calls the Israeli government a government consisting of murderers, as a matter of fact, they imply satanic notions as they accuse the Israeli government of “taking pleasure in human blood.”

They also, at the end, simply accuse Israel of being a cancer against humanity, and must be removed from the Earth.

Remarking “Israel” is the most important military outpost of the nazi hegemonic colonial empire, and status as a “country” or “state” is a rhetorical fiction, especially as it has no border, no constitution, and its “economy” is dependent upon the empire’s financial and material support. It’s “fort apache”, or “the alamo”… and with the liquidation of this military outpost and imperial withdrawal from the occupied zones of Palestine, the hegemon will coincidentally fall into civil strife. We may say that when energy cannot transfer, the engine stalls or self-destructs. The equation has no pity.

Alex Jones may be telling the truth, or improving on the truth, and anyway the orange guy can’t make any binding deals yet…and what would bind any deal anyway? Nobody trusts the US  anymore. Yeah, this is Jones stuff. A ‘a secret global summit with the head of NATO’.

It ain’t global, and the head of Nato has no agency.

And Trump is not allowed to do any of this anyway.

But most important, is who will ever trust the US to make agreements with. Smoothie made a pointer to a guy on Larry Johson’s site with the name of HELMHOLTZ SMITH

          It is worth a read … https://sonar21.com/advice-for-president-trump-on-ukraine-by-helmholtz-smith/

“But even if you had a big stick and a fresh carrot, America’s word is worthless – NATO enlargement, Minsk 1 and 2, Istanbul. Not forgetting the nurturing of Bandera, Stetsko and the others. Why would Moscow ever believe anything Washington promises? As Putin said a few years ago, US presidents come and go but nothing changes.

All you can do is deliver Ukraine. Deliver it to what? To Russia’s demands. So, Mr Trump, in 24 days you could stop the slaughter but only on Moscow’s terms.”

And even if Trump did that, who would believe him?

I’m afraid we are in the time of the missiles. The US has one choice, and that is to move into their own sphere, their own country and fix their own troubles. If not, well, Smoothie said today and I said earlier .. we are in war. There is no more SMO! And Russia holds the missiles.

I truly cannot care who says what but if one does not understand this, you will be lost in the noise.

I remember when The Saker put this up on his website. At the time I thought the warning was somewhat exaggerated, a nuclear war would never happen. Yet here we are…could the unthinkable actually take place ? Clearly the patience of Putin and his government is wearing thin…

      A Russian Warning

      June 01, 2016
We, the undersigned, are Russians living and working in the USA. We have been watching with increasing anxiety as the current US and NATO policies have set us on an extremely dangerous collision course with the Russian Federation, as well as with China. Many respected, patriotic Americans, such as Paul Craig Roberts, Stephen Cohen, Philip Giraldi, Ray McGovern and many others have been issuing warnings of a looming a Third World War. But their voices have been all but lost among the din of a mass media that is full of deceptive and inaccurate stories that characterize the Russian economy as being in shambles and the Russian military as weak—all based on no evidence. But we—knowing both Russian history and the current state of Russian society and the Russian military, cannot swallow these lies. We now feel that it is our duty, as Russians living in the US, to warn the American people that they are being lied to, and to tell them the truth. And the truth is simply this:

If there is going to be a war with Russia, then the United States
will most certainly be destroyed, and most of us will end up dead.

Let us take a step back and put what is happening in a historical context. Russia has suffered a great deal at the hands of foreign invaders, losing 22 million people in World War II. Most of the dead were civilians, because the country was invaded, and the Russians have vowed to never let such a disaster happen again. Each time Russia had been invaded, she emerged victorious. In 1812 Napoleon invaded Russia; in 1814 Russian cavalry rode into Paris. On June 22, 1941, Hitler’s Luftwaffe bombed Kiev; On May 8, 1945, Soviet troops rolled into Berlin.

But times have changed since then. If Hitler were to attack Russia today, he would be dead 20 to 30 minutes later, his bunker reduced to glowing rubble by a strike from a Kalibr supersonic cruise missile launched from a small Russian navy ship somewhere in the Baltic Sea. The operational abilities of the new Russian military have been most persuasively demonstrated during the recent action against ISIS, Al Nusra and other foreign-funded terrorist groups operating in Syria. A long time ago Russia had to respond to provocations by fighting land battles on her own territory, then launching a counter-invasion; but this is no longer necessary. Russia’s new weapons make retaliation instant, undetectable, unstoppable and perfectly lethal.

Thus, if tomorrow a war were to break out between the US and Russia, it is guaranteed that the US would be obliterated. At a minimum, there would no longer be an electric grid, no Internet, no oil and gas pipelines, no interstate highway system, no air transportation or GPS-based navigation. Financial centers would lie in ruins. Government at every level would cease to function. US armed forces, stationed all around the globe, would no longer be resupplied. At a maximum, the entire landmass of the US would be covered by a layer of radioactive ash. We tell you this not to be alarmist, but because, based on everything we know, we are ourselves alarmed. If attacked, Russia will not back down; she will retaliate, and she will utterly annihilate the United States.

The US leadership has done everything it could to push the situation to the brink of disaster. First, its anti-Russian policies have convinced the Russian leadership that making concessions or negotiating with the West is futile. It has become apparent that the West will always support any individual, movement or government that is anti-Russian, be it tax-cheating Russian oligarchs, convicted Ukrainian war criminals, Saudi-supported Wahhabi terrorists in Chechnya or cathedral-desecrating punks in Moscow. Now that NATO, in violation of its previous promises, has expanded right up to the Russian border, with US forces deployed in the Baltic states, within artillery range of St. Petersburg, Russia’s second-largest city, the Russians have nowhere left to retreat. They will not attack; nor will they back down or surrender. The Russian leadership enjoys over 80% of popular support; the remaining 20% seems to feel that it is being too soft in opposing Western encroachment. But Russia will retaliate, and a provocation or a simple mistake could trigger a sequence of events that will end with millions of Americans dead and the US in ruins.

Unlike many Americans, who see war as an exciting, victorious foreign adventure, the Russians hate and fear war. But they are also ready for it, and they have been preparing for war for several years now. Their preparations have been most effective. Unlike the US, which squanders untold billions on dubious overpriced arms programs such as the F-35 joint task fighter, the Russians are extremely stingy with their defense rubles, getting as much as 10 times the bang for the buck compared to the bloated US defense industry. While it is true that the Russian economy has suffered from low energy prices, it is far from being in shambles, and a return to growth is expected as early as next year. Senator John McCain once called Russia “A gas station masquerading as a country.” Well, he lied. Yes, Russia is the world’s largest oil producer and second-largest oil exporter, but it is also world’s largest exporter of grain and nuclear power technology. It is as advanced and sophisticated a society as the United States. Russia’s armed forces, both conventional and nuclear, are now ready to fight, and they are more than a match for the US and NATO, especially if a war erupts anywhere near the Russian border.

But such a fight would be suicidal for all sides. We strongly believe that a conventional war in Europe runs a strong chance of turning nuclear very rapidly, and that any US/NATO nuclear strike on Russian forces or territory will automatically trigger a retaliatory Russian nuclear strike on the continental US. Contrary to irresponsible statements made by some American propagandists, American antiballistic missile systems are incapable of shielding the American people from a Russian nuclear strike. Russia has the means to strike at targets in the USA with long-range nuclear as well as conventional weapons.

The sole reason why the USA and Russia have found themselves on a collision course, instead of defusing tensions and cooperating on a wide range of international problems, is the stubborn refusal by the US leadership to accept Russia as an equal partner: Washington is dead set on being the “world leader” and the “indispensable nation,” even as its influence steadily dwindles in the wake of a string of foreign policy and military disasters such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Yemen and the Ukraine. Continued American global leadership is something that neither Russia, nor China, nor most of the other countries are willing to accept. This gradual but apparent loss of power and influence has caused the US leadership to become hysterical; and it is but a small step from hysterical to suicidal. America’s political leaders need to be placed under suicide watch.

First and foremost, we are appealing to the commanders of the US Armed Forces to follow the example of Admiral William Fallon, who, when asked about a war with Iran, reportedly replied “not on my watch.” We know that you are not suicidal, and that you do not wish to die for the sake of out-of-touch imperial hubris. If possible, please tell your staff, colleagues and, especially, your civilian superiors that a war with Russia will not happen on your watch. At the very least, take that pledge to yourself, and, should the day ever come when the suicidal order is issued, simply refuse to execute it on the grounds that it is criminal. Remember that according to the Nuremberg Tribunal “To initiate a war of aggression… is not only an international crime; it is the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole.” Since Nuremberg, “I was just following orders” is no longer a valid defense; please don’t be war criminals.

We also appeal to the American people to take peaceful but forceful action to oppose any politician or party that engages in irresponsible, provocative Russia-baiting, and that condones and supports a policy of needless confrontation with a nuclear superpower that is capable of destroying the US in about an hour. Speak up, break through the barrier of mass media propaganda, and make your fellow Americans aware of the immense danger of a confrontation between Russia and the US.

There is no objective reason why US and Russia should consider each other as adversaries. The current confrontation is entirely the result of the extremist views of the neoconservative movement, whose members have infiltrated the US Federal government, and who consider any country that refuses to obey their dictates as an enemy to be crushed. Thanks to their tireless efforts, over a million innocent people have already died in the former Yugoslavia, in Afghanistan, in Iraq, Libya, Syria, Pakistan, the Ukraine, Yemen, Somalia and in many other countries—all because of their maniacal insistence that the USA must be a world empire, not a just a regular, normal country, and that every national leader must either bow down before it, or be overthrown. In Russia, the irresistible force that is the neocon movement has finally encountered the immovable object. They must be forced to back down before they destroy us all.

We are absolutely and categorically certain that Russia will never attack the US, nor any EU member state, that Russia is not at all interested in recreating the USSR, and that there is no “Russian threat” or “Russian aggression.” Much of Russia’s recent economic success has a lot to do with the shedding of former Soviet dependencies, allowing her to pursue a “Russia first” policy. But we are just as certain that if Russia is attacked, or even threatened with attack, she will not back down, and that the Russian leadership will not “blink.” With great sadness and a heavy heart they will do their sworn duty and unleash a nuclear barrage from which the United States will never recover. Even if the entire Russian leadership is killed in a first strike, the so-called “Dead Hand” (the “Perimetr” system) will automatically launch enough nukes to wipe the USA off the political map. We feel that it is our duty to do all we can to prevent such a catastrophe.

⭕ 🇺🇸 In an effort to simplify military logistics by eliminating the need to move fuel and batteries across the battlefield, the U.S. Army has awarded Raytheon a contract to develop a wireless directed energy system that can send power where it’s needed.

The idea behind the Army’s new contract as part of the Department of Defense’s Operational Power Strategy is for Raytheon’s advanced technology team to replace a large portion of the supply lines with high-energy coherent microwave beams that are transmitted from a secure generator to forward positions where they are converted back into electricity.

“Wireless power and data enable enhanced capabilities in future manned and unmanned battlespaces,” said Colin Whelan, president of Advanced Technology at Raytheon. “This is critically important in highly contested threat environments where operations are challenged.”

⁉️ Is the world on the cusp of a superpower nuclear war?
🔻 C1: Serious question. I’m curious, have you (are you) ever been a teacher or lecturer? You have a talent for conveying insights and fostering learning. It’s remarkable. I appreciate the depth albeit Itake for granted the accuracy of your work and research. Appreciate it
🔻 WS: I lectured my children at times over the years. Apparently I wasn’t very persuasive.

I was a good teacher of horses. Horses view the world very differently than people do. 500+ kilos of agile, extremely responsive power willing to do whatever you ask of them, if you ask right.
[the essential preparatory work of all the prophets in their youth – albeit with sheep.]
🔻 C2: You mention that using nukes is a murder-suicide type of commitment. Our situation strikes me as one where we have a thrall who we can get to commit the murder-suicide while we sit in the shadows. It disgusts me but I believe this is the calculation our elites have made.
🔻 WS: There are no shadows when it comes to using nuclear weapons. ANY use of a nuclear weapon against a Russian target will be justifiably attributed to the United States.
⭕🔻 Kit Klarenberg: 🧵: I surmise key reason Brits can’t give up on proxy war is they are terrified of the scale of their involvement, and huge responsibility for Ukraine’s destruction, being exposed publicly. All of Kiev’s most embarrassing military blunders were British operations. Let’s dive in.

As I’ve written about extensively, Kursk was British planned, armed, directed, trained op. This was publicly admitted. Was supposed to normalise overt British involvement in the proxy war, in the hope Germans and Americans would follow suit. That failed |THREAD|
🔻 WS: Karma will eventually catch up with Perfidious Albion.
🔻 C2: The British aristocracy wants to relive it’s glory days they’re nostalgic of the days when Britain was a great power and Winston Churchill could sit side by side with Stalin and Roosevelt. But those days are over, today Britain is just a third world country full of white people.
      🔻 WS: 📜 Lords A’Leaping
      🔻 C3: Ojalá!
      ⭕ [continuation of yesterday’s thread]
‼️ Although we still await definitive BDA from what was apparently a kinetic-only MIRV strike in Dnipropetrovsk, I think it’s worthwhile to note that a single salvo of a half-dozen of these kinetic warheads would completely destroy one of the British carriers sitting in port.
🔻 C1: The crazy thing is that it was the first ever launch of this thing. They knew it wasn’t gonna fail – that’s a scary level of confidence.
🔻 WS: As I have long argued, Russian missile and rocket tech has remained at least a decade ahead of its western counterparts since the 1950s. Chinese, North Korean, and Iranian missile tech derives directly from original Russian designs.
🔻 C1: For liquid propellant missiles I agree, but not for solid rocket fuel ones. Minuteman and Trident-II missiles were much better than their counterparts when they came out. Russia developed solid fuel missiles and hypersonic capabilities recently, they are not Soviet inheritance
🔻 WS: You are misinformed. The Soviets began using solid-fuel boosters in the 1950s.
🔻 C1: I’m not saying Soviets didn’t have them, all I’m saying is that Minuteman was better – it had smaller mass than RT-2 or Topol, and had the same or higher range. US developed better propellant tech at first, but Russia actually caught up (if not exceeded) in the last 20 years
🔻 WS: It is no more than an unproven conjecture that 1970s-era US ICBMs were superior.

But there is abundant evidence for the superiority of Soviet/Russian SAMs from the 1950s to the present day.
🔻 WS: Also, it is now clear that Minuteman III are obsolete and extremely unreliable. In the event of a full-scale nuclear war, only a fraction of them would successfully exit their silos.

On the other hand, the Russian inventory has been almost completely upgraded.
      🧵 Empty Quiver
🔻 C1: For example S-75 had a liquid second stage, S-125 appeared later and was all-solid. S-200 also used liquid motor during cruise. S-300P’s 9M82/83 were 3/5 times heavier than MIM-104 missiles, while only delivering 1.6x heavier warhead at similar range (but higher altitude)
🔻 WS: Ask the Ukrainians which they would prefer: S-300 or Patriot? They will tell you what everybody now knows: Patriot is FAR inferior to even the Soviet-era S-300 systems Ukraine had at the start of the war.

Against ballistic missiles, Patriot is utterly useless.

🔻 C2: Russia is in a better position now than they were before the war. This is an objective fact. Underestimating, and acting like a war with them is no big deal, is so crazy to me it borders on psychotic
🔻 C1: can you explain why, specifically?
      🔻 C3: You need to read @simpatico771, @imetatronink
🔻 WS: You can’t reason with people who are so woefully misinformed about what has happened in Ukraine over the course of this war.

If the US attempted to fight its supposedly unstoppable “combined-arms maneuver warfare” against Russia in eastern Europe, they would be massacred.

🔻 C1: What’s to prevent Russia from bombing the factory?
🔻 WS: Not effective NATO air defenses, that’s for sure.
⭕ 🔻 C1: Been thinking this over some more, and while the situation is still extremely dangerous, it is – at this moment – not quite as bad as some think.

What Putin is doing is threatening to launch a single medium range ballistic missile with MIRVs. In other words – no genuine first strike threat to America.

The medium range missile can’t even come close to reaching the Atlantic seaboard when launched from the European portion of Russia. Even if it could, a single missile could kill a lot of people (6 US Eastern cities), but it can’t take out any more than a small bit of America’s nuclear arsenal.

So, the US has absolutely zero incentive to instantly launch a massive nuclear strike, if rational (that’s the big question), when it sees Russia launching a single medium range ballistic missile against Western Europe. It would likely be conventional, and if not, and if Berlin, Paris & London were to be vaporized, the US would still have its full nuclear arsenal available for the response (if any, and hopefully not).

(I want mankind to survive, sorry insane ones.)
🔻 C2: Actually if you read what Putin said straight from the horse mouth, the next step is (probably nuclear) elimination of NATO bases in Europe, as a last-last warning before nuking cities
Not need for speculations, the Russian are very straightforward in their warnings
🔻 C3: I don’t get the probably nuclear part. They would have no need to escalate straight to nuclear with the damage that could be done with conventional warheads on their missiles.
Like @imetatronink says, they could sink one of the UK’s aircraft carriers. It would be impossible to spin that as anything other than a catastrophe.
They could even arrange to have that done via a proxy – perhaps even already prepared for it.
🔻 C2: Very likely tactical nuke with high yields (not residual radiation) have used on Tver a month ago
Hence the potential to basically say “see, we can do it to, NOW STOP”
🔻 WS: 🤦‍♂️ You should distance yourself from the #MiniNukeCult before they serve the Kool-Aid.
      ⭕ 🔻 C1: StormShadow launch platform…? |media|
🔻 WS: As I recall, they crafted some steam punk rig that permits a MiG-29 to carry a single Storm Shadow.

I’m surprised Ukraine has any still flying. Probably the US paid some exorbitant price for any they could find around the world, and managed to piece together a few.
The USS Lincoln slinked into the Arabian Sea during the late summer, cruised in deep waters for several weeks, launched a few F-35s to conduct a token strike against a Houthi hut, and then they turned tail and skedaddled back home.

They just transited the Strait of Malacca.
[headed eastward across Pacific to San Diego]
🔻 C1: I predicted the Red Sea naval operation would be a bust, but I have to admit I didn’t imagine it being the embarrassing bungle it turned out to be. It just reflects an absolute absence of thought at all, let alone strategic thought.
🔻 WS: I think, most of all, it reflected the strong aversion of the US Navy to have missiles shot at its highly vulnerable ships — especially their big fat aircraft carriers.
🔻 C1: But that’s the thing, the problem was so predictable. Of course, both of us are hardly above pointing to our predictions and going, “I told you so!” We’re only human. But some level of command seems to have lacked human common sense.
🔻 WS: 🍪🥛 Well, to his credit, Captain Soggy Cookie showed some common sense:

When danger reared its ugly head, he bravely turned his tail and fled. |repost|
🔻 C2: Most people don’t understand just how vulnerable ships are to modern surface to surface missiles.

Just ask General Paul Van Riper and his results from Iranian war games in (2002?).
🔻 WS: 📜 Lessons Never Learned
🔻 C3: Some time in the future, the real damage to the US fleet caused by the Houthis will be revealed. Must have been significant enough to make them change course.
🔻 WS: I don’t believe any US warships got hit. But I think there were some relatively close calls. And most of all, they simply ran out of air defense missiles, and were therefore forced to withdraw.
⭕ The always-engaging Matt Bracken makes several good observations in this interview.

🔻 C2: Is there anything to drink?

      🔻 C3: “Hazelnut “ I don’t think many ppl here realize what’s it’s all about…
🔻 WS: From now on, I will call them oreshniks. 😏
      🔻 C4: Buonissime
With their Storm Shadow strike into Russia, the UK military brain trust were apparently acting on a strong belief that there was a gathering of top commanders in an underground bunker in Maryino.

      They probably got duped. 🤣

British intelligence is an easy mark these days.
🔻 WS: I’m just barely watching Alexander Mercouris’ daily report. He touches upon this same question. (The idea has been floating around since the first reports of the strike in Maryino.)

I will only repeat that I have yet to see any credible evidence of TWELVE missile strikes.
🔻 C1: Will, the shifting of production of drones and missiles is a significant step. This would allow Ukraine to attack Russian strategic assets. There is already a tank production facility by Germany.
🔻 WS: You are lost in fantasyland.

A German tank production facility? 🤦‍♂️

Are you talking about the repair workshops in Dnipropetrovsk that just got blown to pieces by hypersonic warheads?
[sadly this delusion seems prevalent in NATO. That they can rebuild the 404 factories INSIDE 404, wipe their hands off of the whole affair, and watch Russia burn… there is no hope for degenerate imbeciles]
🔻 C2: More than repair it was the main production facility also according to locals the explosions went on for hours. It was a huge underground production facility they got all of it.
🔻 C3: It’s strange how dumbass secret services are still called “intelligence”
🔻 C4: “British intelligence” is the greatest oxymoron in the dictionary.
🔻 C5: They seem to sincerely believe there are DPRK troops fighting there, so why not? And a couple of fake headlines about food shortages in Russia were enough for them to attack a mayonnaise factory. 🤣
      ⭕ 🤔 That Smell …

There is a peculiar odor permeating western political and military circles since the realities of the Oreshnik strike crashed through their plate glass delusions of impregnability.

It’s the smell of befuddled consternation.
      🔻 @baoshaoshan: Hazel allergy?
🔻 WS: A bad reaction to the bitter pill of decisive strategic defeat.
📜 The Bitter Pill of Decisive Strategic Defeat
🔻 C1: Achieving dominance in missile tech with stolen washing machine chips apparently has that effect.
🔻 C2: Well, that maybe true at certain strategic levels. Those of us down at the infantry unit-level are doing what we always do: Clean/pack our gear and say the Serenity Prayer.
🔻 C3: The BBC are touting it as a ‘one-off’ experimental strike system which shouldn’t be taken too seriously!
🔻 C4: Does befuddled consternation smell like rapidly released constipation?
🔻 C5: Will, do you think this will make Britain specially, tone down its tune?
      🔻 WS: Hard to say.

For the scant remnant of the British aristocracy, it is always the early spring of 1912, and the Titanic is still at the docks.

      💠 @Sputnik Africa:
Here’s why Russia’s Oreshnik hypersonic missile is ready for mass production

Thursday’s combat deployment testing of the Oreshnik missile system against a Ukrainian military-industrial target in Dnepropetrovsk speaks to the fact that the new Russian missile system is ready for deployment and mass production, and the reason comes down to the way Russia’s missile weaponry has been designed for many decades, says veteran Russian military observer Dmitry Kornev.

The capabilities of Russia’s military-industrial complex when it comes to producing Oreshnik-style weaponry is “significantly higher than those of the West,” Kornev told Sputnik, pointing to the Russian (and before that Soviet) missile design philosophy going back to the Cold War-era standoff involving the RSD-10 Pioneer and the Pershing 2 – with the Soviet system designed to ensure strategic deterrence on the continental scale, vs. the US goal of delivering a strike against enemy targets as quickly as possible from a forward foothold.

“Our system likely has a far greater strike potential in the sense that it was created on the basis of already proven ballistic missile technologies – most likely, at the Moscow Institute of Thermal Engineering, which means that mass production and rapid deployment of large quantities of the missiles is assured,” Kornev said.

“In the case of the West, any similar system will be rather expensive to create,” Kornev emphasized.

President Putin confirmed in a briefing with defense officials Friday that a decision on the Oreshnik’s mass production has been taken, and that the military has amassed a stockpile of the new ballistic hypersonic missiles, and “will continue these tests, including in combat conditions, depending on the situation and the nature of the security threats that are created for Russia.”
⭕ 💬 Italy’s ban on strikes against Russia ‘means nothing,’ as it depends on NATO – Italian journalist

The ban on using Italian-supplied weapons by Kiev to strike Russia is mere noise, since Rome can still provide all the support NATO may request, Italian journalist Giorgio Bianchi told Sputnik.

“In any case, these long-range weapons are supplied by the US and the UK. They are the American ATACMS and the British Storm Shadow. Therefore, the statement of the Italian foreign minister, Antonio Tajani, is nothing. It means nothing. If there is a need in planes or bases to calculate the distance [for strikes on Russia], Italy cannot fail to provide it. Italy is fully integrated in NATO,” he said.

Statements by the Italian authorities that Ukraine cannot use Italian-supplied weapons against Russia are “a farce that continues to play only for the electorate.”

Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Ukrainian forces launched ATACMS missiles at Russia’s Bryansk region during the night of November 19. Five missiles were intercepted by Pantsir and S-400 systems, while one was damaged.

We faced pressure because of our positions on the genocide in Gaza and the lobbies are moving against us, especially the banking lobby

▪️ The goal of the war of extermination waged by Israel in Gaza is to prevent the establishment of a homeland for the Palestinians. What is happening in Palestine and the region is not just a war, but a message of intimidation from the countries of the North to the entire South. Countries that dream of controlling the world increase tensions and wars to preserve their sovereignty and control

Major countries are ignoring international law, human rights and human civilization. We have suffered from brutality and killing as well, so we empathize more with the sense of genocide that the Palestinian people are being subjected to. Our people are affected by the horror of the scenes of genocide they see in Gaza and recall harsh memories

▪️ We respect the decision of the International Criminal Court to issue the arrest warrants, and if Netanyahu and his defense minister visit Colombia, we will arrest them

Washington’s rejection of the decisions of the ICC, which it did not want to join in the first place, means they support the atrocities

▪️ Those who bet on the West will feel alone and betrayed like Ukraine and countries in Western Europe. In the next stage, China can play a different role. Putin will reach an understanding with Trump, because they are both oil and energy businessmen

⭕ Israel is not interested in a ceasefire with #Lebanon as per its invasion indicates and is trying to advance on several axis in the south of Lebanon. My take to @AJEnglish
⭕ The Israeli invasion forces occupied the hill of Loubye overlooking the village of Deir Mimas, close to Metula on one side and to the Litani River on the other and entered the village without fighting because the town is Christian. Most of the inhabitants left.
[this is unfortunately becoming a pattern – zionazis use Maronite Christian and UNAFIL positions as both shield and avenues of infiltrating around stout Hezbollah defenses. But they’ll still attract resistance, like bears to honey or flies to a heap of crap]
⭕ Tomorrow I’ll write a detailed article about the advance of the Israeli invasion forces and the role of the resistance and the challenges Israel will face after occupying the villages and towns where its nightmare will begin.
⭕ Again, no ceasefire for #Lebanon any soon. On the contrary, the military activity of the occupation forces indicates that peace is far.

      💠@Strategika51:
⭕ All the incessant blah-blah about the superiority of the empire’s weapons systems has fallen by the wayside. The empire is in check everywhere and can no longer advance. One of the options left to it was to provoke a Russian nuclear retaliation in Ukraine to demonstrate to the world, and especially to the countries of the Global South, that the empire was not the only one to have used atomic weapons on civilian populations. The provocation didn’t work. The Russians aren’t as crazy as the totally deranged, raving lunatics on the other side. By launching a missile that no interception system in the world is capable of countering, Moscow is showing that the empire will never win its case.

befuddled: utterly confused or puzzled : deeply perplexed

consternation: amazement or dismay that hinders or throws into confusion

⭕ 🔻 SIMPLICIUS Ѱ:  NATO militaries would need to rely FAR MORE on FPVs than Ukrainian troops. Not a single NATO member has soldiers with the courage of Ukrainian troops, which means after the first month of fighting, when all the fancy NATO munitions are expended, 95% of NATO frontline troops would be hiding deep in the rear leaning entirely on FPVs to do anything
🔻 WS: A NATO army group taking on the Russians in eastern Europe would need at least a million units on hand to start off, with a full cadre of trained operators, another full cadre in reserve, and another in training.

And, not only are the Russians already producing them at about a million per annum, I’ll bet the Chinese can crank them out by the TENS OF MILLIONS every year

🔻 C4: Has any army beat Russia before?
🔻 C5: Depends on how far you want to go back. Russians were under a Mongol yoke for a couple hundred years, they lost to the Turks in one of their many wars, they lost to the England/France/Turkey alliance in the Crimean War, they tapped out of WW1, they lost in Afghanistan…
🔻 C6: Crimea was a disaster PR wise for UK ,the thin red line, and the massacre of the light Brigade were wiped out.
🔻 WS: Crimea was a strategic defeat for the British.

Crimea was also an influential training ground for the US Civil War. And the US generals naturally repeated many of the same mistakes for years until a few figured out that the firepower had rendered the old tactics obsolete.
⭕ ‼️ FPV Attack Drones — now with jam-proof fiber optic datalink — have become an ESSENTIAL implement of 21st century warfare.

The US and its NATO vassals are not prepared to fight such a war — nor any manner of high-intensity industrial-scale warfare.
🔻 C1: We’d have to pull out our old TOW’s.
🔻 WS: They’ve already expended a substantial number of the old TOWs in Ukraine.

I’ve seen a lot of video where the latest-upgrade Russian T-72s shrug off both TOW and Javelin strikes, and keep chugging along and firing their guns.
🔻 C1: Yeah, I was kinda kidding. But it shows we always go back to hard wired combat once everything is jammed or satalites get knocked out. Break out the protractor and compass.
      ⭕ retweet his old:
I never cease to be amazed by the pervasive belief that the US military is superior to any other on the planet.

Upon what basis is this faith founded?

The US has not engaged in a real war since Korea. No one in the US military has ANY experience with high-intensity conflict
🔻 C1: Air power alone makes us greatest military. It’s not really close either.
🔻 C2: US lost in Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan..and even to Houthis…😂😂😂😂
🔻 WS: The US has suffered strategic defeat in every war it has fought since 1945.

And relative to its adversaries, the US military is weaker than at any time since the 1930s — but with no meaningful domestic industrial capacity.
⭕ The solemnly robed judges in The Hague are nothing but a toothless moot court. A ridiculous farce.

I remain convinced that, before the end of this decade, the EU will dissolve; NATO will cease to function as a credible military / political alliance; the empire will be in crisis.
🔻 C1: Love the optimistic take that we’ll make it to the end of the decade as humanity. (Although if we burn by Q4 2025, your certainty becomes reality too.)
🔻 WS: Humanity will continue. I am certain of it.

      (1) Mercouris last night spoke of Oreshnik IRBM and how it now really lowers the nuclear threshold, per wishes of Prof Karaganov. The nazi hordes will NOT be able to tell what it carries until after it lands. And these IRBMs, formerly shelved with 1980s INF Treaty, were explicitly designed to be the primary nuclear missiles for the European theatre by both sides. Drawing “Hazelnut”

The strike of a medium-range ballistic missile in a non-nuclear hypersonic warhead with a strange, almost mocking name “Oreshnik”, which lashed out at the fallen Yuzhmash on November 21, 2024, changed the world.

The point here is not only the first time in world history – or the tenth, it doesn’t matter – that an IRBM was used in war.
It’s not just that there is no escape from hypersonic weapons, either in Ukraine or in the West.
And not only in the fact that Russia took control of the escalation of the conflict, responding to the enemy according to its own rules of the game, rather than those imposed on it.

The fact is that Russia’s very presence of the Oreshnik says a lot – practically everything! – about the achievements of its science and the level of development of its defense industry.

It is impossible to create such a missile without scientific schools, design bureaus, a whole range of industries – and also without the necessary organizational and managerial potential or without the required level of counterintelligence. It is absurd to think that a country that has created such a missile will give in to other tasks.

Alexander Prokhanov captured this in his remarkable figure of speech:

“The hypersonic missile “Oreshnik” that hit the Ukrainian plant “Yuzhmash”, incinerating it, changed the picture of the world with its impact. The course of military actions in Ukraine changed. The level of conflict between Russia and America changed. The political situation in Europe changed. Changes occurred on the future American-Chinese front. The traffic flow through the Strait of Hormuz, OPEC oil production quotas, the price of coffee beans, the state of country roads in the Vologda province, the expression in Vladimir Zelensky’s eyes, blackened with horror, changed.”

…According to legend, Giotto once drew a perfect circle for the Pope without lifting his brush from the paper – this was enough to confirm his mastery. The successful use of “Oreshnik” by “Yuzhmash” became the same confirmation of Russia’s level in the eyes of those who understand. And who are now trying to cope with this dazzling fact.

If Russia has “Oreshnik”, it changes everything.
If Russia has grown such a “Nut Tree”, it means Russia is capable of anything.

🔻 WS: It’s really a moot issue. You can’t roll up hundred dollar bills and fire them in guns or missiles. And the US/NATO doesn’t have any meaningful quantity of the exploding stuff to make a difference in this war.

The Russians will dictate to the US/NATO the terms of surrender.
      [continuation of thread:]
‼️ FPV Attack Drones — now with jam-proof fiber optic datalink — have become an ESSENTIAL implement of 21st century warfare.

The US and its NATO vassals are not prepared to fight such a war — nor any manner of high-intensity industrial-scale warfare.
🔻 C1: If Russia is so ascendant on the battlefield, why is it taking so long to eject NATO from Kursk?
🔻 WS: They are systematically annihilating the AFU/NATO forces in Kursk. It has been a catastrophic massacre. And as long as the AFU/NATO keep feeding men and equipment into the fire bag, the Russians will continue killing them.

[Zio-USUK is buying time at cost of ALL its proxies]
      ⭕ 🌊 Sea Change

In my opinion, there has been a discernible alteration in the tactical deployment of US warships in a potential battle zone.

      Especially the carrier strike groups.

In midsummer, CSG-2 (USS Brave Sir Robin) exhausted its air defenses against the Yemeni, survived several close calls, and had to bravely run away.

Since then, CSG-9 (USS Roosevelt) and CSG-3 (USS Lincoln) took successive turns cruising in the deep waters of the Arabian Sea, well out of range of known Yemeni capabilities.

But, apparently after venturing a bit closer in order to launch its “first ever” F-35C strike, there were credible reports that the Lincoln crew watched helplessly as at least one ballistic missile splashed only a couple hundred yards away.

CSG-3 (leaving its two destroyers behind to get shot at in the Red Sea) made a beeline for calmer waters, and is now gathering its wits somewhere in the western Pacific.

The US Navy *KNOWS* its fleet of supercarriers is acutely vulnerable to the firepower of even lowly Yemen — by far the least powerful of its potential adversaries.

The Battle of the Bab el-Mandeb has proven that, in the context of a big firepower war against Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea, the deployment of US carrier strike groups is nothing but a big fat bluff.

      #NoEasyWarsLeftToFight
🔻 C1: US aircraft carrier vulnerability and Russia’s new missiles, drones, EW, industrial MIC might etc make US first strike nuke war much more likely. Like Israel, our neocons will deploy the Samson Option, a WW3 last stand at a global Alamo.
🔻 WS: You think the #MastersOfEmpire are suicidal?

      I don’t.

      At least not yet.
🔻 C1: The Zios are on a suicidal path and may drag the rest of us into their end of times apocalypse. The overlords ( bankers) believe war & chaos will as usual be profitable. Madness is very real. Relying on rational self interest is a huge fallacy, among the rational.

🔻 C1: Imagine if it has been successful…

NATO is discussing the possibility of carrying out preemptive “precision strikes” on Russian territory in the event of an armed conflict, said Admiral Rob Bauer, Chairman of NATO’s Military Committee.

“This is a new discussion within NATO, and I am glad that we have changed our stance on this and on the idea that we are a defensive alliance that will sit and wait to be attacked before responding. It is more prudent not to wait but to strike Russian launchers if Russia attacks us.”

Recently, the West has increasingly voiced ideas about a direct military conflict between the alliance and Russia. The Kremlin, however, has stated that Russia poses no threat, does not threaten anyone, but will not ignore actions that could potentially endanger its interests.
