To my great surprise, Guterres sounds ike Lavrov. Multipolarity, multilateralism and peace. First he listed all the ‘dangers’ of multipolarity but then he coined a phrase, networked multipolarity and further on, global coordination on universal principles. (Where was he this past 10 years?) Strong words on Israel – He also warned that Israeli settlement expansion in the West Bank is ‘bulldozing the path to peace and raising the specter of ethnic cleansing’ . It was in reality quite inspirational, again, to my great surprise. I would recommend.

It is LULA’s turn now. He says this is the most critical moment for the UN and the feeling that drives him today, is one of indignation. After his opening speeches he dives straight into Israel and the genocide. Direct, with no limited words. Then he goes to Russia and the Ukaine . he calls for peace and gives some suggestions. He shouts about the situation in the Latin Americas. He calls out countries name by name – the horror of the Cuban situation. We (Brazil) does not need aircraft carriers. We need the money flow that feeds organized crime to stop. He personally handed this proposal to the US. He then flies into pillars of multilateralism being eroded and organization on life support. Lula is not mincing words. Change is not about recolonizing the Global South. I congratulate LULA as he did not change this into an overtly Brazilian political speech. He was a statesman. Good speech. I would recommend.
The US team have just walked in. Besides the Ra Ra, he has just ‘reshaped the world’s stage’. He is so great, and while others have spoken of peace, he has made peace – while obliterating Iran. Same old lies and here comes the baby killing (but not the Israeli baby killing). It is necessary to hear the man out, but I cannot recommend this. After Guterres (to my great surprise) and LULA, we now listen to a dangerous hegemonic clown, again inviting Iran to become their colony. Oh my heavens, he is congratulating the UN Security Council for supporting their ‘end of the war in GAZA’. Will pick up more later.
