Seeking creativity but all there is, is stacking failures and a blue funk
Usually, the creativity is findable and if not, an understanding of the world is there. Moving into 2026 feels like a dark hole.
President Putin stated this morning: “There is no such thing as a civilized family in the West today – only total degradation.”
The good news is that Lavrov and Putin, in separate conferences, are basically making a new Putin 2007 Munich Style speech:

Last year, this time we saw babies starving and dying because of cold and exposure in West Asia-Middle East. This year, we are beginning to see that again. Trump’s peace process in West Asia and Gaza is a complete failure, and was probably built that way. Instead of bringing an end to the murder of Palestinians, the agreement just slowed down the pace of killing and it is picking up again now, widely, across the region.
Trump’s attempt at a peace process for Ukraine is a complete failure .. stacking another failure upon the first. Looking at the Russian speeches this morning, we are moving into another year of a Ukraine war. Hey Ho! Up to the last Ukrainian. Here comes Odessa! (And here ends Europe). No, it is not that the US administration is ‘leaving Europe’, it is only that they ae squeezing them as hard as what they try to squeeze the rest of the world. Of course Europe will bow the knee and even crawl on their bellies.
The current Russian and Chinese announcements are serious and we will post up the transcripts as available. If you’ve never paid attention, this time it is necessary.
Now the west wants a war with Venezuela, or alternatively wants to besiege them to death and steal another few countries as well. This will stack another failure, but will kill a lot of people. Mr Lavrov noted the disgust for this jingoism in his final speech with the Iranian representatives.
I saw an early, unedited copy of Michael Hudson’s new transcript of a Nima interview this morning. He starts by talking about the asymmetry of security. “For the United States, security means the ability to control the whole rest of the world, the environment, other countries. And to the extent that they have sovereignty of their own to act independently, the United States foreign policy feels insecure. But the problem is that when it solves this insecurity by surrounding Asia and the whole rest of the world with this 800 military bases throughout the world, well, this threatens other countries’ security. So there’s a basic asymmetry built into the whole concept of U.S. security to begin with. And that’s the point that Vladimir Putin has spent almost a year now trying to explain to Donald Trump’s team. … the idea is you can’t make America’s insecurity mean the actual military insecurity of other countries.

China speaks, but it is not available in the normal course of events. We need to look for it. There are problems as well, with Japan being used as the current stalking war horse. Chinese FM Wang Yi declared that China will work with ASEAN to align development strategies, and resist unilateral bullying and cold war rhetoric.
The one area in Africa, the coalition of Sahel States that provided joy to all of us because of its anti-colonial actions, is in this position – The West is attempting to destabilize the situation in Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger, the countries with which Russia’s cooperation is gaining momentum, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin.
Looking forward, only after some meditation while cleaning. One can medicate and meditate while scrubbing, sweeping, wiping, and cleaning, and that is my solution for the blue funk. 🙃 And contemplating the fact that the Shining City upon the Hill is now a Rogue Mess, together with their Chosen Nation.
