Final Israel election results: Netanyahu’s bloc falls short as deadlock deepens
The official Central Elections Committee (CEC) count is complete, and Israel is facing a political impasse with neither major bloc securing the 61 seats required to form a government.
The final math:
🔴 Netanyahu’s bloc: 53 seats (Likud remains the largest party with 27)
🔴 Opposition bloc: 48 seats (Eisenkot’s Yashar wins 21, Bennett’s B’Yachad 12)
🔴 Arab parties: (https://t.me/geopolitics_prime/76417) A record-breaking 19 seats (Joint List 11, Ra’am 8)
The CEC officially stated that the integrity of the vote was maintained—dealing a blow to Likud’s claims that the election was “stolen” by Arab voters.
The chaotic path forward:
Yair Golan is actively pushing to form a minority government supported from the outside by Arab parties to oust Netanyahu. However, this path faces a major roadblock from Avigdor Liberman, who refuses to sit with either Arab parties or Netanyahu, demanding a strictly “Zionist-only” coalition without the current prime minister.
Meanwhile, Gadi Eisenkot and Naftali Bennett have met to discuss forming a unity government as quickly as possible, though Eisenkot has previously ruled out serving under Netanyahu. As the political vacuum widens, President Isaac Herzog is urging leaders to avoid dragging the country into yet another election, while simultaneously calling for a full investigation into alleged Qatari election interference. (Note, in reality all of this theater does not matter – the killing continues.)
