The Spook and Spy Files
Suddenly we have two and more Spooks Speaking, and they were invariably playing all sides.
Full disclosure ๐ฎ:ย I have a bias against spooks.ย Once a spook, always a spook, is what I think.ย Even if the spook repents from their spookish ways, the previous employer could call them in at any time for a special operation or two.ย And of course they cannot easily deny the offer, as their own lives are of such a nature that there are many ways to get at ’em.ย If you make time for the following two interviews, note how very carefully curated the stories are.ย Oh, it’s friendly enough and engaging with the other person, but it’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Here are two spooks speaking.ย Ex-CIA analyst Larry Johnson and former SBU counterintelligence officer Vasily Prozorov.ย ย So we have spooks and spies interviewing spooks and spies.ย Vasily was a Ukrainian spook who gave information to Russia and eventually had to flee Ukraine into Russia.ย ย There is more beneath the surface, as these two have things to hide, in my view.ย So the stories told are those that we already know.

We have a second spook file.ย Pascal Lottaz interviews Rainer Rupp, a German Spy who worked for NATO but also spied for the GDR, and handed over all NATO paperwork.ย ย He speaks of NATO’s essence, which, of course, hasn’t changed, and of today’s situation in Germany and the rest of Europe.ย He speaks on how NATO has always provoked Russia and continues to do so now. He ended up in jail, but only for a shorter period.ย He explains that he received leniency because he only wanted to improve relations, not to do the counterintelligence role for money.
