LAC, Russia’s new Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Venezuela – where’s the beef?

This short essay serves to illustrate the difference between upbeat reporting, and reality. I am not criticising anyone, so no names need to be mentioned.  I am illustrating how we should take note and take most everything with a grain of salt.

RUSSIA-VENEZUELA PACT: A Strategic Hit to US Intentions

Putin has just RATIFIED a comprehensive strategic partnership with Venezuela (http://publication.pravo.gov.ru/document/0001202510270004), signed May 7, 2025. This is a MAJOR geopolitical move.

KEY DETAILS:

🔸Scope: Deepens cooperation across political, economic, energy, mining, transport, and CRITICALLY, security & counter-terrorism.

🔸Goal: Establish a new “mechanism of coordination” on bilateral and international issues. Russian officials state it moves relations to a “fundamentally new level.”

🔸Ideology: The treaty explicitly rejects unilateral sanctions and seeks a “multipolar” world order, directly challenging US hegemony. It includes a joint commitment to counter “historical distortion” and “the legacy of colonialism.”

ANALYSIS:

This is a strategic alliance solidifying Russia’s foothold in America’s backyard. The timing is critical, with the US openly discussing regime change in Venezuela. (https://t.me/newrulesgeo/932)

This treaty transforms Caracas into a key strategic partner for Moscow, and it will make the US think twice before any aggression against Venezuela. The inclusion of security and defense cooperation signals Russia’s intent to be a permanent power player in the region.

Sounds good eh! Wonderfully uplifting and a message that looks like a pure win for Russia and Venezuela, and against hegemonic forces. We can feel strong and invincible.

Let’s however take a look at how the hegemonic forces responded to this comprehensive strategic parnership, especially this piece: ” … and it will make the US think twice before any aggression against Venezuela. The inclusion of security and defense cooperation signals Russia’s intent to be a permanent power player in the region.”

Now, for the four-fold response in international waters.

This morning in the Dailies, I mentioned:  “A reconsideration of our fellow commentators and reporters is in order.”

Again this is not a criticism.  Instead this is a call for a serious level of discernment.  The old Christian verse comes to mind.  “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves. Be ye therefore wise as serpents and harmless as doves.”

Take a good look at that War Department notice.  After they killed a bunch of people on a ‘Trust Me Bro’ basis, they initiated search and rescue standard protocols.  So very kind of them.  May we be clearly not impressed with that little bit of legalism to hide the crime of killing people in international waters and with impunity.
