When two or more different methods of analysis come to the same conclusion….
And do we see in Agent Orange and his fellows’ actions consistent with a ruling class, or a faction of it, attempting to, by revolutionary method, insure a revolution that preempts and thus saves themselves by shaping the course of an inevitable revolution? I recall that, in the failure of capitalism of the 1930’s, FDR is credited with a similar goal.

this doesn’t make sense.
It wasn’t in the narrow confines of the Red Sea.
It was in the southern Med Sea, as they were trying to transit the Suez southbound for Yemen..granted it was near midnight and there were a bunch of ships northbound, but these tankers and cargo ships are like small islands, and gunboats have radar.
So the PoV of WS that perhaps it was intentional, to prevent re-engagement with the Yemenis is valid.
And that also begs the question – what was the mission this time?
They had just been to Greece, to pick up cargo and whatnot, as the nearest “safe” NATO base. And the new shiny POTUS likes beautiful explosions and unusual feats, whilst eating sumptuous chocolate cake.

I think it is nonsense. “Negotiations” are already a poisoned pill. To accept ANY terms acceptable to Russkie = public acknowledgement of defeat and end of western hegemony.
And even in Anglo-Saxon “tradition”, possession is 9/10th of the law. And Russkie already owns most the desired minerals. And cannot lose it..
So there will likely not be any publicly settled “deal.”

So I watched a recent Scott Ritter where he had the full story already told, with ‘facts’ as he liked them, and a glorious victory for Trump. It is so strange. For a fellow that says he does not like Trump, he believes him every time.

Heart of Darkness…I never watched Apocalypse Now. I prefer An Outpost of Progress. You’ll recall the drunken Europeans are taken into into slavery and the remaining Europeans are dead as the steamer approaches…and Makola is, we assume, quite well-off.

With regards to Uncle Gil’s flowing praise of Marco’s ‘tact’ and Trump’s strategy in choosing all the neocons in his cabinet … I see it differently.
Trump’s goal is to end the SMO as quickly as possible and move on to China … same with those who surround him…
Marco and others KNOW Russia has won the war and they hope to save face as well as they can … and they think they can charm Russia into leaving/separating from it’s bond with China (LOL)
Of course Marco was going to be respectful and tactful…

ParticipantDoctorow is reporting what the Russians are seeing too. A lot of people are starting to realize there’s more substance in the Trump administration than was expected. Keep watching.
As to Rubio, let’s remember that in recent years no representative of the US has been able to contain himself to be respectful and tactful. I didn’t think he could pull it off and many are surprised.
Others have remarked at how precisely and disciplined Team Trump has acted, across all fields, domestic especially (with never a leak of what was coming, from one day to the next) but we’re seeing some of it in foreign affairs now too – think Munich.
As to China – it’s so obvious and always-hovering that I kind of think it won’t happen. Trump has to appease a lot of factions as he goes along the path, and he’s been doing that very well. Protective coloration – if you’re Trump, you must have learned the need for that.
Trump can afford to aim for China right up until it’s time to go there…and then I’ll bet that for some reason it won’t happen. And he’ll drop whatever alliance he had to make to get there, or he’ll stay in good grace with that faction and someone else gets blamed.
