A Rant is as Good as a Holiday

This is an exceptionally good rant from Shahid Bolsen of Middle Nation.  We get phrases such as Europe, specifically France slowly being worked out of Africa as a neo-colonial power, will be so broke that they’ll sell the Sistine Chapel on EBay.  Lovely!

It starts with physical cleanliness and the comparison with whitewshing. I never knew there was so much to say.  Nobody is spared. The theme continues.  He talks about radical resource nationalism, i.e., the colonized have the ‘audacity’ to think that their own country’s national resources actually belongs to themselves and not to the colonizers.

A feast. Whitewashing does not actually make one clean.

i guess i am alone, but i am skeptical of his entire schtick. However, it is important to be skeptical of all internet pundits. I would say the more one agrees with a person wholeheartedly, the more skeptical one should be.

France would indeed have to be broke to try to sell the Sistine Chapel. It would be like the old joke about selling the Brooklyn Bridge, considering that France does not own the Sistine Chapel, and the Sistine Chapel is not in France. It is not even in Italy, but… Read more »

Absolutely fascinating – thank you, Amarynth. Surely one could argue that this guy Bolsen is doing a bang-up job of “whitewashing” too – IOW, propaganda facilitated by bare-faced omission. Notice that he mentioned pretty much every key plundering U$ imperial/exceptionalist in recent history – very nicely done on that score!… Read more »

Point taken, Amarynth – I agree with more than 90% of his comments, and so perhaps I was too harsh. My curiosity remains though, as long as he continues to give the Orange Wrecking Ball a free pass as we move into the most deadly and precarious phase of a… Read more »

Ain’t that the truth.
