!!!Julian Assange – FREE!!!

I found this first on an RT mirror and now it is on RT telegram channel:

I still waited awhile to confirm and yes, awesome news! JULIAN ASSANGE IS FREE

JULIAN ASSANGE IS FREE –
This is from Wikileaks X

Julian Assange is free. He left Belmarsh maximum security prison on the morning of 24 June, after having spent 1901 days there. He was granted bail by the High Court in London and was released at Stanstead airport during the afternoon, where he boarded a plane and departed the UK.

This is the result of a global campaign that spanned grass-roots organisers, press freedom campaigners, legislators and leaders from across the political spectrum, all the way to the United Nations. This created the space for a long period of negotiations with the US Department of Justice, leading to a deal that has not yet been formally finalised. We will provide more information as soon as possible.

After more than five years in a 2×3 metre cell, isolated 23 hours a day, he will soon reunite with his wife Stella Assange, and their children, who have only known their father from behind bars.

WikiLeaks published groundbreaking stories of government corruption and human rights abuses, holding the powerful accountable for their actions. As editor-in-chief, Julian paid severely for these principles, and for the people’s right to know.

As he returns to Australia, we thank all who stood by us, fought for us, and remained utterly committed in the fight for his freedom.

Julian’s freedom is our freedom.

[More details to follow]

This is wonderful and I never thought I would see the day.  It is a shame that this jubilation is overshadowed by my own feeling that today this takes attention away from the state of our world!  They did get their pound of flesh though – he must or will have to plead guilty to a count of conspiracy.

JULIAN ASSANGE IS FREE!!!

(I don’t drink, I don’t smoke but now I’m going to have a cup of coffee.  Thank-You Julian Assange!)

UPDATE:  The plea deal is expected to be finalized on Wednesday and resolve Julian Assange’s legal case in the United States, according to CBS News. The report said US federal prosecutors recommend Assange receive a 5-year prison sentence as part of the plea deal, but he will not be required to spend time in a US prison because he will be credited for the five years he spent in a UK prison fighting his extradition to the United States. In the United States, Assange faces prosecution under the Espionage Act for obtaining and disclosing classified information that sheds light on numerous war crimes and human rights violations committed by US troops during the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan. He initially faced up to 175 years in prison.

(Legalizing the five years they kept him in His Majesty’s Prison, Belmarsh, while nibbling on their toenails)
