Tit for Tat Trash Diplomacy

North Korea and South Korea

So, South Korea decides to send big balloons across the border, filled with leaflets, drives with movies calling for rebellion, and other provocative type material.

North Korea considered this trash.

Tit for Tat, they send hundreds of big balloons filled with real trash across the border.

“About 600 more balloons carrying debris have flown from the DPRK to South Korea since the evening of 1 June, Yonhap reported.

The South Korean military urged people not to touch the fallen objects. The balloons are not being shot down because of the potential danger they pose.

About 150 balloons were launched on 29 May. Earlier, the South Korean agency wrote that North Korea was doing this in response to South Korea sending leaflets calling for rebellion.

The situation with the balloons will be discussed today at a meeting of the National Security Council convened by the South Korean presidential administration. ”

North Korea has said they will stop sending trash filled balloons because the South should know now what it feels like. The South said they would punish the North with ‘unbearable’ retaliation should the trash balloons continue to fly over the border.

Observers say South Korea will likely restart front-line loudspeaker broadcasts into North Korea that include criticism of its human rights situation, world news and K-pop songs.

This all falls within proper diplomatic norms.

South Korean K-Pop songs are incontrovertible evidence why North Korea is right to reject South Korea’s woke demoncracy, as symbolized by gender-confused K-Pop… Read more »
