Jeff recently started a foundation called Seek Truth from Facts.  The objective is multifold and Jeff says it is to:

1. Give a broader voice to the deeply talented and knowledgeable members of the esteemed China Writers’ Group(CWG).
2. Promote unsung, deserving journalists and writers, who do not have a decent platform to share their valuable work.
3. Create synergies between and among the CWG and guest contributors, to serve and inform the greater public around the world.
4. Maintain and expand the online libraries of China Rising Radio Sinoland, some of the largest collections of China-focused articles, interviews and podcasts on the web, as well as expand The China Trilogy into The China Cycle.
5. Maintain and expand the Bioweapon Truth Commission Global Online Library, the world’s largest, free online source of audio, video, image and print collections, covering biological and chemical weapons, going back to World War One.
6. Conduct on-site and online lectures, panels and forums with invited guests from around the world. Supporters of Seek Truth From Facts will have top priority to participate in these events.
7. Organize and lead small tours in China that go beyond the usual Western tourist point-of-view. Members will visit and learn about critical historical places that tell the story of the Chinese people, in their voice, especially covering the post-Opium War, Chinese Civil War, founding and post-liberation periods. Supporters of Seek Truth From Facts will be the first to have these opportunities.
8. Solidify and continue all of the above missions for the long-term, making Seek Truth From Facts Foundation a legacy that will continue for future generations.

Jeff is a prolific analyst and a very kind person. During this process, Jeff asked me a few questions and I gave him some answers and he said some good things about me which is deeply appreciated.

Amarynth new Global South website is a powerful voice for the world’s 99%. Here is her story. China Rising Radio Sinoland 230826

Jeff: Before starting: Amarynth and I began working together when she was at The Saker. Her main interest was China, so we had a common bond. With the closure of The Saker, Amarynth has recently started her own website, Global South (www.globalsouth.co). She does terrific journalism and has spread her wings to cover issues all around the world. Her recent reporting on the situation in Niger has been indispensable. She also has a cool section called Hearty Salon, where she shares some of her personal passions, like cooking and food.

Interview

Jeff J. Brown (host): Please introduce yourself.

Amarynth Flower (guest): My online name is Amarynth and that is what I stick to while following in general good online security. In terms of studies, I did psychology but the industrial kind, I.e., I worked with organizations and business, anything up to the Fortune 500’s. I also studied Development which was basically development of countries. Soon these two interests combined, because computers started becoming ubiquitous and I went back to studying and ended up consulting in Information Technologies for enterprises.

Jeff: You have African heritage. What does that mean to you?

Amarynth: Yes, I was born in Africa, and grew up in an English colony – take your pick, they were all the same. My parents were in the meat business and in farming. As such we got to four countries quite regularly and I feel quite at home in Zimbabwe (Rhodesia at the time), Mozambique, not an English colony but a Portuguese colony, Namibia (at that time South West Africa) and South Africa. The African roots are strong and I do so hope Africa as a whole, can now break out of the neo-colonialism mold completely. I saw most of the so-called end of colonialism and the start of neo-colonialism. Currently it is an interesting time for Africa as a continent.

Jeff: Tell us about your exodus from your home country. Why?

Amarynth: Exodus from my home country was based on three criteria. Africa became grass roots in their development path and I did not want to work for the mines, or the governments or the banks. I had an interesting collection of skills and my husband (an American) as well and we saw no career future for us. In fact, people like us were not welcomed any longer in Africa. So, we moved initially to the US where we literally inherited an IT consulting company for a few dollars and developed that strongly into a boutique consulting company. So, from that point onward, I lived and worked in eight countries doing big IT development projects. I also speak three languages. So, I got to travel throughout many parts of the world and luckily could make friends mostly everywhere.

Jeff: Do you think your home country government has messed with you?

Amarynth: Of course the governments and everybody else messed with me. There was not much space at the time for a message of peace, integration and basic human values for all. I was followed, phones tapped, and had to sometimes go get the kids from school to make sure they did not get lost in the violence of the times. I was involved in organizations that were working for positive change and did a lot of training for old colonial management to drop their racist stance, tendencies and policies and move to a new world where most people are not considered colonial subjects.

I became interested in China specifically when I trained a bunch of young Chinese IT specialists in some highly conceptual software concepts. The Chinese grouping had just bought out a US company in fertilizers and this new management of course wanted to know all about the software. They were so superb! Clever as the day is long and so supportive of one another. They opened my eyes to the ‘China Miracle’ and indeed it is a miracle.

Yet, although this was very interesting there was the voice in the back of my head .. Why is Russia fighting in Georgia? Why is Yugoslavia being subjected to major bombing and what is my part in all of this? In time, I found my part in all of this when I realized who was doing the bombing and why. It was an education to say the least.

Jeff: Do you go back? Stay in touch?

Amarynth: Yes, I stay in touch with old friends, still have family around and visit when I can and they visit when they can. But I do enjoy the relatively non-racist environment in the Latin Americas and cannot see myself move from these climes.

Jeff: Tell us about your website and its goals.

Amarynth: I started www.globalsouth.co, as I saw some of my old values again being brought to the fore in the principles of multipolarity and multilateral relations between countries. I wanted to chronicle this process as it is fascinating and in my view, will save the world. On globalsouth.co we are busy with BRICS business, SCO business, we watch Russia and China and lend our hands to those activities that can support a new ‘La Humanidad.’ My glass remains at least half full and not half empty.

China coverage on globalsouth.co is the most important diplomatic information and then the basics of what they do as humanity. This is the most important anti-war message, the one of introducing the people as human with the same human frailties as most of us, but different ways of handling themselves. The cultural basis is different, but, we have our humanity in common.

Russia coverage is currently still the SMO in Ukraine. But this will change and Russia is coming into her own as a civilizational state. The history is rich and long-lasting. I support them.

With the movement to a multipolar world today I see the Latin America’s striding up ahead and possibly further with developing the conceptual basis than Africa for example. It is a wondrous vision to see people stepping into their own power and strength, instead of being simply lackeys to a force that took over the world.

So, we chronicle and there will be years of chronicling up ahead as we are not in a process that will be done overnight. The size of the move for humanity is epic and just maybe this time we get it done. The economic shifts are massive in themselves and we do not need poor people, hungry people, people with lack of water and basic livable standards as a norm. China has shown that there is a way to inculcate human values into humanity.

I am compelled to write down the story!

Jeff: I like your Hearty Salon. Tell us about that.

Amarynth: Hearty Salon is an open environment. In time this will develop more into a cultural feast. My part there is food. I have a keen interest in food as medicine and natural health, of which food is a great big part. Food to me is a joy and something that we can all offer to one another. With traveling to different countries I worked up a bunch of methods (begged the grannies to part with their methods) on how to make food as it should be made and not the fast food quick takes. So most everything is welcome at the Hearty Salon.

Jeff: So, what’s next, personally and journalistically?

Amarynth: Personally I will keep journal-ling. The world is busy and journalistically I simply do not have sufficient time to do the longer and deeper analysis which I like to do. But let’s get rid of these political wars and the economic wars and then there will be time to understand the process in more depth. It is amazing that most still do not understand the powerful changes in the process to multipolarity. I wrote my first article on that almost a year ago, and it needs an update. So, this is the more in-depth journalistic piece that is now growing beard in my file folder.
