The President of Guyana gave a spirited speech without the tinge of AI as most Europeans. This is the first proper comment on multipolarity that I’ve seen. But there is a confusion here (generally) on multipolarity and multilateralism. He says though that the UN must respond to the challenges of today, and not that of 1945. He has also signed on to the Shield of the Americas. It is problematic that people call multipolarity, multilateralism and Shield of the Americas. A good spirit, but deeply confused. I like him, despite the confusion. He seems intelligent and will quickly get it, with the correct information. He then made a strong recommendation for UN Secretary General Candidate Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett – supported by Guyana.
