Modern Hebrew/Ivrit  is fairly easy and thanks to my command of Arabic i learnt it quickly. But i have not spoken it for a while. And i was lucky enough to meet a generation of Israelis both in academia and daily life so different from today.

When i studied at the Hebrew University at Mount Scopus in 1988, i spoke enough Ivrit to do my research in the archives of the Prime Minister Office. I wrote my doctoral dissertation on the concept of borders. Israel is a frontier state and has refrained from declaring its territory. That was clear in 1948, 1988 when the archives were opened and it is brutally evident in our times with daily bombing of Gaza, Lebanon, settlements in Westbank and Southern Syria. Where does Israel end?

What does the genocide of the Palestinians mean? Unlimited barbarian drone warfare and hunger blockade? Where Artificial Intelligence meets daily unspeakable horror?

A JetBlue Airways pilot said he narrowly avoided a “midair collision” with a U.S. military aircraft that entered his flight path while the JetBlue plane was climbing after takeoff from Curaçao, a Caribbean Island.

Gaza: A Night of Fire and Demolition

The last 12 hours saw relentless, varied aggression across the Gaza Strip, with the primary focus of the zionist entity’s fire centered on Khan Younis and heavy shelling battering Gaza City.

Khan Younis: Airstrikes and tank fire hammered the eastern areas and the Sheikh Nasser region, coupled with the demolition of residential blocks. Central Khan Younis City was also specifically targeted, with the Al-Agha residential building suffering repeated strikes. Just a day ago there was the shooting of US soldiers in Iraq. This evening there are US bombing raids.

There was one shooting at Brown University, Rhode Island in the US today but the greater shooting was at a Chanukah party in Sydney, Australia on popular Bondi beach.

The first press mentioned the celebration, and then it disappeared from press reports. Thousands of young Jews were attending the event and there are numerous casualties. There are of course different reports of casualties and some of the reports state that nearly 20 were killed and 100 wounded in Sydney attack targeting Zionist Jews. These are not local residents, but Israelis who travelled on holiday, as Australia is still letting them in en masse, unlike some other countries. Israeli press is calling: A day like October 7th in Australia against our soldiers.

Now the press is in a frenzy of mocking bird talk and saying ‘Islamists’ did the shooting.

Let’s talk about some secretive moves.  There is in general an irritation with Kirill Dmitriev on the Russian Team on negotiations regarding Ukraine.  I call him The Babysitter.  Larry Fink of Blackrock has just joined the US Team.  Bear in mind, none of these people have any real authority to negotiate with Russia.  The US is extending its talk shop.   So, why is Kirill Dmitriev there, and why is he irritating, and why do I call him The Babysitter?  We may as well ask why the US is pretending that it is angry with the EU at the moment? 

There is only one reason for all of this: the war is coming to an end and it is the time for serious war profiteers to join a frenzy.  This is also why Russia is firmly sticking to the Alaska understandings.  So what the US tactically is attempting to do is to lull Russia into a soporific state, (5 hours talkshop with Putin), to start the war profiteering all for themselves. 

To my great astonishment, people that should know better are falling for the more friendly pivot to Russia in the last US National Security Strategy and the snubbing of the EU.  It is war profiteering that is on their horizon.  They are pre-emptively fighting off the EU so that they can possibly war profiteer all by themselves – of course they will toss a bone if successful.  Dmitriev looks like an annoying gnat here, but explain to me his part is it is not to babysit specifically for attempts at war profiteering?  I think he is rightly placed.  Russia will possibly not allow war profiteering on Ukraine (which has been tried – remember the agreements on mines and minerals a while ago – that did not work).  Russia will certainly not allow war profiteering on Russia itself.  Understand the phase that we are in vis a vis the Ukraine war.  The war is coming to an end and the profiteers are out and hungry.

The seizure of the oil tanker:  Nicholás Madura just made a speech.  It was not Venezuela’s oil, but a shipment that was bought and paid for.  He did not say who bought it and paid for it.  So, does the US know whose oil they seized?

Dmitry Medvedev commented on the US idea to create a C5 (US, Russia, China, Japan, and India) with Russia’s participation, as an alternative to the G7:

Overnight Russian Air defense forces shot down 287 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.  Locals heard explosions in Zelenograd, Ramenskoe, Dubna, and Sergiyev Posad.  Amid the nighttime drone attack on Moscow, at least 200 flights were delayed and canceled.

▪️ Unmanned surface vessels operated by Ukraine’s Security Service (SSU) targeted the Russian tanker Dashan as it sailed through the Black Sea en route to the Russian port terminal in Novorossiysk. The attack inflicted severe damage, and according to initial reports, the vessel is unable to continue its journey.  At the time of the strike, a British RC‑135W reconnaissance aircraft was flying over the Black Sea. This marks the third attack on Russian oil tankers in the past two weeks.

The Russian Armed Forces struck energy and fuel complex facilities, which are used in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as temporary dislocation points of Ukrainian military and foreign mercenaries in 152 districts.

The crisis between China and Japan is continuing, with Japan pursuing a significant military buildup in the outlying islands.  This is Reuters, so we must question the truth factor:  Russian bombers joined Chinese ones in patrolling borders near Japan, Reuters reports. Optics in the LAC.

Killing, theft, and blatant piracy on the ocean are the standout events.  Hegseth’s soldiers are strong when they fight fishermen in little boats or rappel down to a tanker staffed by sailors.  This is about drugs, eh?  Or oil?  Or regime change?

There is another, more nuanced trend. Bolivia is what we are talking about, where Evo Morales charmed the world as the first indigenous president from 2006 to 2019 and helped make Bolivia grow and flourish. Cambodia has officially submitted a complaint to the UN Security Council, accusing Thailand of unprovoked military aggression along their shared border. The complaint claims that Thailand has deployed heavy weapons, including mortars, tanks, fighter jets, and drones, as well as toxic smoke against Cambodian positions. These attacks have reportedly extended into civilian areas and cultural sites, notably the Preah Vihear Temple.
