I feel much better about Friday’s Summit in Anchorage, since I found out that the Azerbaijan and Armenia agreement is not a peace agreement and is yet another spin from the supreme spinmeister. In other words, the complete ceremony and the high fives and the hands clasped together were a deception. The document:
Though the three signatories to the Joint Declaration touted it as transformative, marking the dawn of an era of “eternal peace,” the document’s provisions are vague and non-binding. In effect, it is a memorandum of understanding, not a contract.
Pashinyan and Aliyev “initialed” what was described as a “peace agreement.” In fact, what they signed was a pledge to keep on talking about a lasting settlement, adding little to what the two had already stated many times previously.
“We acknowledged the need to continue further actions to achieve the signing and ultimate ratification of the [Peace] Agreement, and emphasized the importance of maintaining and strengthening peace between our two countries,” the Joint Declaration reads.
These countries signed an agreement two years ago explained here: Trump has a TRIPP. We have another front in the war on single polar hegemony
So, why do I feel better? Elementary, my dear Watson. Mr Putin is not stupid and his aides are also brilliant. Anyway, hopefully the war between Azerbaijan and Armenia will not blow up again. We have Russian troops on the border where they want to have the TRIPP still, and the exceptional Russian diplomats are on the case.
The next person who tells us that they know exactly what Mr Putin’s objectives are for the Friday meeting, and precisely what the discussion is going to consist of, probably needs to have a shoe stuffed in their mouth. This is not an analysis. Analysis in this case is determining the possibilities and their rankings with what we know, and leaving a solid space for what we do not know. More is not possible. (We were stupid for drawing inferences before we saw what was signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia and believed that it was a peace agreement – Let’s stop being foolish and let’s not accept anything out of the mouth of this US administration.)
Rest easy about the Friday summit. MR PUTIN IS NOT FOOLISH.

According to information received from multiple channels, the Kyiv regime is preparing a provocation aimed at disrupting the Russian-American negotiations scheduled for August 15.
For this purpose, on Monday, August 11, a group of foreign media journalists was brought by SBU vehicles to the city of Chuhuiv in the Kharkiv region under the pretext of “preparing a series of reports about the residents of the city in the frontline zone.”
Directly before the summit on Friday, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have planned a provocative strike using UAVs and missiles on one of the densely populated residential areas or a hospital with a large number of civilian casualties, which the brought-in Western journalists are supposed to immediately “document.”
As a result of the Kyiv regime’s provocation, all responsibility for the strike and civilian casualties will be placed on the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, in order to create a negative media background and conditions to disrupt Russian-American cooperation on resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
Provocations are also possible in other settlements controlled by the Kyiv regime.

Trump caves again.
According to CNBC, just hours before his own tariff pause on Chinese goods was set to expire, Donald Trump quietly signed an executive order extending the deadline another 90 days — effectively waving the white flag in his much-hyped “tariff war (https://t.me/geopolitics_prime/53241).”
The delay was no surprise to trade watchers after US negotiators met their Chinese counterparts in Stockholm last month. If Trump hadn’t caved, the US economy could collapse without Chinese imports.
So this is how Trump crushes China. I guess failure is also a deal.

The UN Security Council today was a very hot meeting.
Chinese Ambassador to the UN Fu Cong put forward four “musts” at the emergency meeting held by the UN Security Council on the Palestine–Israel issue on Sunday, after the Israeli security cabinet approved a plan to take over Gaza City in the northern Gaza Strip.
- Fu said Israel’s attempt to occupy Gaza must be firmly opposed;
- the fallacy of believing in the primacy of force must be abandoned;
- the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza must be alleviated;
- and the prospect of the two-state solution must be revived.

It is going to be a massive and awe-inspiring grand gathering. The first comprehensive rehearsal for the upcoming grand gathering to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War concluded in Beijing early Sunday. The rehearsal, held from the night of Saturday to the early hours of Sunday in Tian’anmen Square, involved about 22,000 participants, including those taking part in the rehearsal and personnel providing on-site support.
The possibility that Trump will attend, is small. This will depend on the results of the upcoming Alaska Summit.
🔹🔹🔹🔹
Generally there is nervousness in the air.
Why Alaska? It is just a hop skip and a jump away from Russia, literally across the Bering Straits. Putin will be close to home. It is probably the safest venue as the Europeans will not storm the meeting. There is American / Russian history. Did you want this to take place at the Vatican? Or in Turkey? I don’t think so. Trump’s last visit was to Russia so in terms of reciprocity, Putin’s visit should be to the US. There are no threats that someone will try to arrest Putin in terms of the ICC’s arrest warrants. Alaska was Russia’s proposal for a venue.
Why the speed? and this is in terms of what we know There has been negotiations Russia/US +- 3 times dealing with what is described as ‘irritants’ in the relationship. These were technical. So there has been some preparation done over the months. “There was a proposal from the American side which we think is quite acceptable” is Russia’s statement. Russia is mum, while the US (Trump included) are running at the mouth on issues that have not been clarified.
Will they sign anything? I do not want to speculate but at the minimum, something for optics.
Yes, Putin may be sticking his head into the crocodile’s mouth (quote – Berletic) but something has to give. The world trajectory now is war. Trump is not the saviour here, but he does want that Nobel Peace Prize.
In the background most European countries are severely curtailing or even ending benefits for Ukrainian Refugees. Ukraine is becoming yesterday’s news.
Why the speed? in terms of what we can analize based on the current situation:
Why Now? The external mood is changing, the mood in Ukraine is changing, the US wants this war to end because they want to work on another one, and it is now undeniable even to the most hard of heads, that Russia is running all over Ukraine militarily and Ukraine does not have troops to continue fighting. Russia is strong economically. Taken together, this indicates an overall change in the mathematical equation, and with the proposal from the US side, Russia calculates that the time now is optimum for them to make changes as well.
Ryabkov states:
🗣 The US systems (missile systems= are increasingly appearing in regions where they have a DIRECT IMPACT on Russia’s security, said Sergei Ryabkov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia.
💬 Other statements by Ryabkov on lifting the moratorium on INF Treaty (Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces):
🔹 Russia must use such methods to cool down the heated heads in NATO countries.
🔹 In today’s realities, it is inappropriate to use the term “détente” in relations between Russia and the US.
🔹 What we need now is not détente, but political will to begin lowering the temperature in international relations.
🔹 Everything Moscow does in terms of weapons deployment is a reaction to the steps taken by the Americans and their allies.
🔹 Apart from the Oreshnik systems, Russia also has other advanced weapons.
🔹 The first signs of common sense are appearing in Russia-US relations, which were absent for several years before.
🔹 The risk of nuclear conflict in the world is not decreasing.
🔹 Russia sees the risk that after the expiration of the New START Treaty, nuclear arms control will be completely absent.
Conditions on the Ukraine ground is 100% favorable to Russia. The mood in Ukraine has also changed. The Ukrainians are now agitating for an end to the war and are hoping for a diplomatic solution.

On this nagging feeling;
- that the mulitpolar world has just lost a battle: Trump has a TRIPP. We have another front in the war on single polar hegemony.
On the gutwrenching nagging feeling:
- that all is not well with the Putin / Trump summit planned in Alaska on Friday the 15th …
While not included in the agreement, Armenia reportedly plans to withdraw from CSTO by early 2026. (The CSTO is the Russian founded military alliance in Eurasia consisting of six post-Soviet states: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan.) Moreover, the US also reportedly secretly promised NATO membership to Armenia and Azerbaijan for signing on to this deal, which would give NATO access to the Caspian Sea by virtue of the Zangezur corridor.
And here is the kicker (if true): Some telegram channels claim that US troops are set to be deployed in Armenia within the next 48 hours. In other words, rather than ratchet down tensions and reduce the threat of NATO, Trump is signing off on a plan to continue the NATO encirclement of Russia. So yes, Trump is setting the stage for World War 3 if he is serious about adding Armenia and Azerbaijan to NATO
On this wake up in the night nagging feeling that the timing of the Putin / Trump summit has something to do with the Azerjaiban-Armenia documents signed yesterday, even if only optics.
On this stench of perfidy lying on the air, and I am not talking about the major destabilization media campaign running. The one like this:

The US has no real function. They don’t have a job. They do not really manufacture anything. Now they live on others giving them grants, called investments, and so-called tariff revenue, which, in the main, their own importers pay. They live on printed money, and some believe that there still is a value in that. They rip off everyone. They do not care about their constituents. They do not have any goodwill to any global positivity. All they want is to be King of the World. They have an administration dedicated to that, and only that. That is their job, to rip off part of the trade and labor of the rest of the world with all the tools that are necessary for the rip-off. All creativity is focused on their own false beliefs of superiority. They have insanity as a disease. Productivity is fully aligned to create a new empire. If we make a multipolar world with all that goes with that, they will create a new empire to stymie the world. There is nothing to trust, nothing to gain, and nothing to write home about, except old pissy sour wine in new wineskins, now copyrighted as peace ©. It used to be called democracy ©.
They are now worthless, these stinky Ferengi of our solar system, and we can live without this cackling insane idiocy with nukes. For that, some still call them a superpower.

President Putin is a busy man. He has held discussions with a great number of what can be called supportive countries but the most important telephone discussion was left to last in this major telephone rally. This is the telephone conversation with Xi Jinping. Xi noted that there are no simple solutions to complex issues, and that China will continue to support peace and negotiations. At the moment, Putin is in a briefing session with permanent members of the Security Council.
The planned but not yet scheduled meeting with Donald Trump is clearly being prepared. Soon we will get leaks. The art will be to recognise a genuine leak from all the froth out there in the media about this meeting. Acceleration:
We notice a clear acceleration of events across the world. Time will tell if this continues. At the start of September we have Presidents Putin and Xi Jinping at a summit during China’s celebrations of the end of the 2ndWW. The SCO summit of leaders takes place soon after.
We have continual reports of European actors trying to either create a false flag in the Ukraine, or provcations to meddle with the Russian ‘shadow fleet’, which is of course not dark, but not insured by organizations such as Lloyds of London. This makes the anti-Russian crowd form like a hornet’s nest. The US is pushing for a tri-lateral meeting between President Putin, Trump and non-president Zelensky. President Putin is agile and imminently flexible until he is not. This makes the US crowd form like another angry hornet’s nest.
It is important for Moscow to bring its relations with Washington to a predictable and reliable level of communication which could avoid the war that we all see approaching. (Let’s leave for the moment how possible it is, and stand with that the plans are being formed and not out of Europe alone). Russia must be taking into account Trump’s falling ratings, and before there is no come-back from this, they want something on the table. (They also want their money and their property back).
Europe is being flatly ignored, except that Trump has nobody else to talk to. His adoring press corps are beginning to ask hard questions.
It is a time of black swans and unexpected twists and turns as well as major mistakes by panicking leaders.

A little more about what LULA said, and he is correct. He says Trump is trying to break down multi-lateralism by pushing to negotiate Tariffs country by country. Hence BRICS must respond in a unitary Bloc. (It sure looks as if we have ‘our LULA’ back.)
We may have India teetering. Keep open a small window of possibility and look again. India is refusing to bow to the presssure on buying Russian oil. Modi stated: Indian Farmers First!
Russia is speaking up on the India issue. So is China, who condemns this as unfair, unilateral and negative for the world. President Putin’s aids announced a visit to India toward the end of the year.
“Strengthening ties with India is of ‘paramount importance for Russia’ — Security Council Secretary Shoigu. He hails ‘strong, time-tested ties of friendship’ with India & calls for a ‘new, fair, and sustainable world order’”
Aug 6
We hear that LULA says that he plans to call Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping to discuss a joint BRICS response to US tariffs.
More but I cannot find it first hand yet. Brazilian President Lula told Reuters that he plans to convene the BRICS leaders, starting with India and China, to discuss a joint response to US tariffs.
Lula also told the agency that former Brazilian President Bolsonaro should be charged with new crimes for calling for the US to impose tariffs on Brazil, calling it a betrayal that harms the country, and accused Bolsonaro and his son Eduardo of inciting the US to act against their own country.
Bolsonaro is now under house arrest having used his social media after the court prohibited his contact with others.

Tariffs again.
US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order imposing an additional 25% tariff on imports from India over its purchases of oil from Russia, the White House says. (Is it now 50%? same as Brazil). Trump tasked his Secretary of Commerce to identify whether OTHER countries are directly or indirectly purchasing Russian oil and threatens punitive tariffs against these countries, too.
Earlier today (and there is no evidence that this is connected) all Indian airports were placed on ‘high alert’ due to ‘potential threats’
Modi announced that he will be attending the Heads of State SCO meeting – August 31 to September 1, 2025, in Tianjin. He has not been to China since 2022.
LULA stated that he will not negotiate with the US on Tariffs. Brazil is just fine, he said and do not need to trade with the US. Brazil requested consultations at the WTO.
🔹🔹🔹🔹
During World War II (1939-1945), on August 6, 1945, the US dropped its first atomic bomb over Hiroshima, Japan. Nagasaki followed on the 9th. A Little Boy was dropped on Hiroshima. Three days later, a Fat Man was dropped on Nagasaki. (These were different types of bombs). The aerial bombings killed between 150,000 and 246,000 people immediately, most of whom were civilians, and remain the only uses of nuclear weapons in an armed conflict (that we know of). Tens of thousands more immediately or later succumbed to radiation exposure. The nuclear bombing was preceded by a conventional bombing and firebombing campaign that devastated 64 Japanese cities.
It is only 80 years later and these threats again exist in our world, uttered by the same people who now are reportedly repositioning their nuclear subs agressively. They used these weapons on a vanquished enemy. Those who paid attention to this history know that Japan was on the verge of announcing surrender and was a beaten enemy. The bombing had a secondary objective, i.e., to beat Russia to the punch of finally taking Japan down. Russia had declared war against Japan and was invading Manchuria, as the war in the European theater had come to an end but Japan still had to be dealt with.
This is the brutal modern history of humanity, and we all can understand now why massacring some hundreds of thousands of Palestinians is collateral damage (no importante) in the minds of those who are contemplating using such weapons again. We can also again be grateful to Russia who does not kill civilians during their SMO, but take the high road and fight combatants. This is a lesson lost. The formal declaration from Russia that it will no longer keep to its self-imposed restraints on deploying ground-based intermediate- and shorter-range missiles is one of the most major events as this weaponry is being placed in Europe (with malice aforethought).
This is not all that Russia is doing. It has expanded Oreshnik production and made it available for troops, as I understand it (reminder, nuclear warheads or conventional warheads). It is deploying Sarmat ICBMs to replace the Soviet-era Satan-II, and it is testing Burevestnik nuclear-powered cruise missiles for unlimited range strikes.
The world is arming itself, obviously understanding that it is necessary.
From Eurasia and Mulitpolarity:
Militarily, the bombing was pointless as Imperial Japan’s military machine was close to finished, and Soviet leader Joseph Stalin was about to send the Red Army juggernaut to open a second front against Japan. Instead, the bomb was dropped to justify the billions spent on the Manhattan Project and to frighten the Soviet Union.
After Hiroshima was wiped off the map and the population began to suffer the effects of radiation, the United States covered up the destruction and the hell that had been created. Officials would downplay the number of civilian casualties in the two cities and dispute as “propaganda” reports from Japan of extreme suffering caused by “radiation disease.”
George Weller of the Chicago Daily News, began filing graphic reports on the human cost of the bombing. His stories would be quashed by the censorship office and would not become public for 60 years.
The US censorship office under General Douglas MacArthur prohibited all reporting and photography by Japanese journalists. The US military seized all historic newsreel footage shot days after the bombing, this footage would disappear forever. The US then ordered the same Japanese film crew to shoot a documentary, which would be labelled as Top Secret and buried in the archives for the next two and a half decades. The more graphic colour footage shot by the US military would be classified for the next 3 decades.
President Harry Truman, and all successive US Presidents have failed to even apologise for the horrors that unfolded after the nuclear weapons were used on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Israeli settlers attacked Russian diplomats – Moscow

A Russian diplomatic vehicle was attacked last week by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank, resulting in mechanical damage, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Tuesday. She added that Russia considers the incident a violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
According to Zakharova, the incident occurred on July 30 near the illegal Israeli settlement of Giv’at Asaf, located just east of Ramallah and about 20 kilometers north of Jerusalem. She said the settlers also shouted threats at the diplomats. The spokeswoman slammed the Israeli military’s failure to intervene, denouncing their inaction “particularly puzzling.”
“The Israeli Defense Force soldiers didn’t even bother to try and stop the attackers’ aggressive actions,” she said.

Maria Zakharova:
Russia is ready to expand ties with the Global South to counter sanctions, Maria Zakharova said.
The diplomat also noted that the tightening of US sanctions against Global South countries infringes on their sovereignty and constitutes interference in their affairs.
🈁M.V. Zakharova: Sanctions and restrictions are a regrettable reality of today’s historical stage that affects the entire world. Washington cannot come to terms with the loss of hegemony in the emerging multipolar world order and continues to pursue a neocolonial policy in an attempt to maintain its position, applying politicized levers of economic pressure against those who refuse to follow in its wake on the international stage.
Contrary to the main provisions in the field of free trade, which Western countries themselves once promoted, politically motivated protectionism and voluntaristic increases in tariff barriers are taking place, with one of our key partners – Brazil – becoming a victim.
This US policy is a direct encroachment on the national sovereignty of states, an attempt to interfere in their internal affairs, not to mention that it generally threatens to slow economic growth, damage supply chains, and fragment the global economy.
Nevertheless, we believe that no tariff wars or sanctions can alter the natural course of history. We have a huge number of partners, like-minded people, and allies who share this approach among the Global South countries and, first and foremost, #BRICS.
We are ready to expand cooperation with them to counter illegal unilateral sanction pressure and to form a truly multilateral, fair, and equitable world order.
🔹🔹🔹🔹
In terms of global trade the trade routes and trade partners are now changing rapidly and the presentation of global trade will change to a completely different picture in the weeks and months to come. In reality, countries are not willing to pay the tariffs which are seen as a coercive, an illegal shake-down and plunder. Even the countries that are making so-called trade deals with the US, are only buying time to change their trade profile. Even India understands for whom the bell tolls. Modi in India urged Indians to purchase local product only.

This guy is now getting too loose with facts. It is now a constant lie after a lie, sentence after sentence.
It causes a dangerous world if he tells lies so blatantly.

Turkey may be dropping a secret: Turkish media report that Trump will need to obtain permission from Turkey if he decides to deploy American submarines in the Black Sea waters.
The Turkish newspaper Turkiye writes, citing international law expert Hakan Erkiner, that if Trump meant the Black Sea when he said he would place nuclear submarines “closer to Russia,” then according to the Montreux Convention, he will need to get special permission, as the convention does not allow the permanent presence of nuclear submarines there.
The Montreux Convention limits the stay of non-Black Sea states’ ships in the Black Sea waters.

These carnal desires and the puppetry of some Arab governments are the reason behind the failure of a hundred million Arabs to free Palestine from the clutches of Israel. They must understand that the goal of the powerful imperialist governments in creating Israel was not limited to the occupation of Palestine; rather, if given the chance, all Arab countries—God forbid—could suffer the same fate as Palestine.

Done and Dusted and no Downtime! The server smiled. GlobalSouth.co may go down for a little time today. We are doing a sensitive upgrade. I once wore a T-Shirt to quite an important business meeting where business attire was required, but I did not like those partners. My T-Shirt stated: Technology! Not For Wimps! Our environment is getting more challenging on the technology side. Who knows, we may integrate an AI.

Even with Trump’s deployment of two nuclear submarines (can one even believe it and on the basis of a tweet!!) Russia is not stepping back and neither is China.
Russia: ‘We will continue to advance even with a greater speed.’
🇷🇺 Servicemen of the 10th Guards Tank Regiment as part of the Yug Group of Forces set up the Russian Flag over Aleksandro-Kalinovo (https://t.me/mod_russia_en/22495). The Schturmovoy deputy unit leader with the call sign ‘Rotor’ spoke about the combat work in detail.
China: The Pakistan Army has inducted China’s export-oriented Z-10ME attack helicopter, Pakistani media reported on Saturday. A Chinese expert said that this would mark the first export deal of the Z-10, and the helicopter’s strong firepower and survivability could boost Pakistan’s defense capabilities, especially in the field of anti-terrorism.

When do they pull the last plugs on US economy then? Given coercion failure, denial of this hefty economy to mankind is logical next move of the maddened. America is gonna be quartered as was Germany
The BRICS could send them to ruin, AHH, whenever they see fit, simply by selling their US Treasury bonds. I had quite a rant on this subject a couple of days ago on Michael Huson’s Note 1, but it went in late. It was in response to an appalling article… Read more »

Hi, John – no worries – Kevin Walmsley has the best explanation I have seen. Many people won’t touch this subject for multiple reasons. I have kept a very sharp look-out, and I see no well-known commentator or academic raising the subject. Why, when this is IMO an absolute bombshell?… Read more »

“Knyaz Pozharsky is a Borei-class nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine of the Russian Navy.”
LOL. Impossible. The western hysteria would deafen angels above: it would remind of Yanquis submitting Japan. Hypothetically, an old surface ship would do — never bring onboard such precious assets the worst enemies

Yes — the precise stratagem: have right hand declare “peace” as left hand strikes with dagger.

When it comes to chronic pain, the more you fight and struggle, the worse it gets. Like the so-called Chinese finger trap, the only way out is to stop resisting and accept things exactly as they are. Then healing can begin. The west will learn this lesson the hard way.
