Full statement of His Eminence Imam Sayyid Ali Husayni Khamenei (H):

At the beginning of his remarks, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution praised the massive movement of the Iranian people during the Ghadir Day march and recent gatherings, especially after Friday prayers. He also referenced the meaningful and courageous act of a female TV presenter in response to the enemy’s attack, saying: “Chanting takbir and showcasing the strength of the nation to the world was a historic and highly valuable event.”

• The foolish and malicious attack by the Zionist regime occurred while our officials were engaged in indirect negotiations with the United States, and there were no signs of any aggressive, military, or harsh moves from Iran.

• From the outset, it was suspected that the US had a hand in the Zionist regime’s malicious move. This suspicion is growing stronger day by day with the recent statements of American officials.

• I call upon thinkers, speakers, writers — especially those who influence global public opinion — not to allow the enemy to distort the truth through deceitful propaganda.

• The Zionist enemy must be punished — and it is being punished. The punishment carried out by the Iranian nation and its armed forces — already underway and with future plans — is severe and has weakened the enemy.

• The fact that their American allies are now stepping in is itself a sign of the Zionist regime’s weakness and helplessness.

• The US President, in unacceptable and explicit remarks, has called on the Iranian nation to surrender. But we say: First, threaten those who are afraid of threats. The Iranian nation believes in the noble verse:

“Do not weaken and do not grieve, for you are superior if you are believers” [Qur’an 3:139], and threats have never impacted the thinking or behavior of this nation.

• Secondly, telling the Iranian nation to surrender is not a rational statement. Intelligent people familiar with Iran and its history never utter such nonsense, because this nation will not surrender — not now, not ever — and will not yield to any aggressor.

• Americans, and those familiar with the region’s politics, know that U.S. involvement in this matter will be completely to their detriment and they will suffer a blow — a blow whose damage will far exceed anything Iran might suffer.

• Any military intervention by the U.S. in this arena will undoubtedly result in irreparable harm for them.

• Continue life with strength — especially those responsible for public services and those in direct contact with the people, as well as those handling educational and explanatory responsibilities. Carry on your work with resolve and place your trust in the Almighty, for:

“Victory is only from Allah, the Almighty, the Wise” [Qur’an 3:126].

• The Almighty will surely and certainly grant victory to the Iranian nation, to truth, and to righteousness.
