Israeli media: 38 Israeli soldiers were injured during the past 24 hours on the border with Lebanon

(Bear in mind, these guys cannot count too well.  We can double that number.  They were hiding tanks behind the contingent of Irish blue helmets.  Also bear in mind this has been a long-term deployment of peacekeepers from many countries.  So it is not easy for israel to get the peacekeepers on their side as we’ve seen in other theaters of war.  They were not handpicked by the west.  “In defiance of growing regional tension, Ireland, alongside the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), has rejected a request by the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) to remove Irish peacekeepers stationed near the Lebanese border. Update: Hezbollah published in a statement yesterday that over 35 Israeli soldiers have been killed and over 200 injured since the start of the ground incursions into Lebanon.

Yesterday, Sunday, the fighters of the Islamic Resistance reported observing unusual movements of “israeli” enemy forces behind a military post of the UNIFIL international forces in the outskirts of the border town of Maroun Al-Ras in southern Lebanon.

The Islamic Resistance operations room instructed the fighters to hold off and refrain from engaging with the movement to ensure the safety of the international forces’ (UNIFIL) soldiers.

The “israeli” enemy is attempting to use the UNIFIL forces as human shields to cover up its failure to advance towards the village, especially after its repeated failed attempts on more than one front to advance towards Maroun Al-Ras, resulting in the loss of dozens of its soldiers, killing and wounding them.

Overview of the Battle as of Noon Earlier Today By Al Manar’s Correspondent Ali Shoaib

The clashes are still ongoing. I would like to shed the light on something very important. The Israeli army is, besides its military campaign using airstrikes and artillery against Lebanese lands, waging a psychological war by publishing photos and videos from between some houses. Especially those which were published today on the outskirts of the villages of Yaroun and Maroun. If we analyze this footage, we see that they are only to the backdrop of occupied lands and not Lebanese territory. There are some shots taken near the trees on the edge of Maroun al-Ras, and some taken near houses and in the southern neighborhood on the outskirts of Yaroun. This is where the Israeli enemy forces are moving.

Additionally, we’re talking about facing a fast moving enemy which has jets—the area has been subjected to a year of bombing, and the villages and houses which face the border intentionally destroyed. Victory or defeat are not determined by the geography; the measure is of the goals achieved.

For example, has the enemy’s entry into these border villages prevented the launching of rockets towards occupied territory? Has it returned the settlers to the north? Has it stopped the defense operations in the very same villages that contain Israeli soldier and vehicle movements, as shown in the photos? All of these goals haven’t been achieved; it’s the opposite.

What’s happening today is more settlers, even further south of the border than before, are seeking refuge in other more southern settlements. Instead of 100,000 refugee settlers from the north, the situation  has worsened by folds, such that those in Haifa and its surroundings up to Northern Khdaira, Tiberias, Safed, and the central Galilee spend their days in shelters because the rockets aren’t stopping—rocket salvos continue to target these areas. The red alert sirens sound over 20-30 times in dozens of israeli settlements.

So that is the measure of victory and defeat: achieving pre-defined goals. These photos and videos released by the enemy for the purpose of achieving a morale victory don’t affect the morale of Hezbollah’s fighters and supporters, and don’t achieving anything in the battlefield. The reality on the ground says the rockets launches are ongoing from the frontlines towards Tiberias, Haifa, Naharaya, and the depths of the central Galilee in Karmiel and other settlements.

Additionally, there are defense operations that are continually taking place on the frontlines. What does it mean for the Israeli army to bomb Kfarkila while talking about entering Kfarfila? What do the airstrikes on Yaroun and Maroun, such as the ones that took place moments ago, signify while the Israelis claim they are stationed in these villages? This is both the fear of and the admittance of the fact that members of Hezbollah are still present in these villages, and are still defending against the Israelis.

An oh-so lame and miserable attempt to generate and fan sectarian violence.  In reality, the Shias and the Sunnis since this war started, are working very hard to present one coordinated whole.  This is a old old attempt from the playbook of colonialism.  Divide and conquer!  It will fail, judging from what I’ve seen both Shias and Sunnis say.  Of course in Iran, Shias are more prevalent.  Lame! Try another one – the time for this is over.  In fact, many Christian Groupings are fully part of the resistance.

Amid ongoing strikes in Northern Gaza, Civil Defense teams report that they are unable to deal with the large amount of destruction caused by the IOF targeting residential homes. Rescue efforts are severely obstructed by the occupation’s continuous bombardment and the lack of essential heavy equipment, leaving many trapped beneath rubble.

The IOF is continuing its extremely violent aggression in the northern #Gaza Strip, repeating scenes not seen in a year. Artillery shelling has not stopped targeting Jabalia camp for hours, and martyrs and wounded are trapped under rubble in various areas of the north.

When it calmed down, the IOF open fire at journalists and medical crews whilst they transported injuries and martyrs in the north of Gaza. The brutal bombing has started now again.

They’ve now started bombing again the southern suburbs of Beirut, and in the Capital, in addition to strikes on Qusayr on the Syrian-Lebanese border.
