Daily Chronicles
The Daily Chronicles are snippets of the most important news across the world (and a joke or two) for this and each day as it rolls in – as such, this thread is non-structured with the latest news on top.

Slow for new news. The old news is being regurgitated and the discussion is around cluster munitions. Every two weeks or so, a new piece of meat is thrown into the discussion sphere and everybody happily grabs for a piece.
The other issue that is being discussed but in a muted way as yet, is Erdogan’s release of prisoners that by agreement had to stay in Türkiye, until the end of the conflict. https://www.rt.com/news/579406-kremlin-kiev-ankara-deal/
If nothing else serious happens today, enjoy the day and feel free to use as very open thread.

Is #Yellen nuts?
Basically she’s saying the US should be able to do what it wants (sanctions, sabotage etc) but China can’t retaliate in any way.

A few comments pulling things together.
It is wall-to-wall coverage of a terrorist attack on the escalation at the Zaporozhye nuclear plant and it obviously did not happen last night. The other wall-to-wall coverage is Zelensky threatening NATO to finally sign adoption papers.
Mr Lavrov had some words to say: “In my opinion, they are trying to temporarily freeze this conflict, secure a ceasefire and bide their time, so they can again flood Ukraine with weapons, create new military infrastructure and transfer new long-range lethal weapons. At least, this scenario is favoured by American political scientists.”
and
“Look at the tone they use talking to their Western partners. An aide to Vladimir Zelensky declared they were demanding that the upcoming NATO summit decide on launching the process of Ukrainian accession to the Alliance, otherwise Zelensky would not attend it. This is how they talk to their patrons on whom they fully depend both financially and in all other respects.”
Note that this Lavrov transcript is now posted and can be found in the thread: Briefing and Q&A by Russian FM Sergey Lavrov on topical foreign policy issues, including humanitarian aspects of the situation around Ukraine. If you read this carefully, it sure seems like a discussion of what needs to be done quite immediately to create conditions to finally move to a different stance, a different world view, a new era, different actions to place our world into a productive and beautiful place, as it should be.
Both the threats to the Zaporozhye nuclear plant and the insane statements about Ukraine being allowed into NATO, are paper tigers. They are both propaganda wars. The pendulum is swinging and the situation is fast evolving. The time is coming soon when we will be discussing exactly what I tried to lay out here: Weekend Discussion: How will the Ukraine war end?
Take a listen to Martyanov’s video from yesterday where quite early on, he makes the statement: The West has been defeated militarily. Then again, his recent video with the two Alexes, from time stamp 1:05, he explains again that the SMO is one aspect of the removal of hegemon power in the world, and lists a number of the other initiatives. We see things through different lenses, and we weigh the importance of the SMO vis a vis the importance of the many other initiatives somewhat differently – at this point – but we get to similar conclusions. NATO is a paper tiger currently trying to put lipstick on its pig, the West has been defeated militarily. Now we will move to a phase of building out from the foundations given to us by Russia, China and now Iran with SCO membership, the gathering of ancient civilizations.
India today plays somewhat of a dark horse, and please go and read the comment by AHH on this thread: SCO is meeting

From the Russian MoD
▫️The Russian Federation Armed Forces launched a concentrated strike with long-range sea-based high precision weapons against temporary deployment sites of AFU personnel and foreign mercenaries, as well as storage sites for foreign-manufactured armoured vehicles.
All the assigned targets have been neutralised. The goal of the attack has been reached. The enemy strategic reserves have sustained significant damage.
The AFU continued to attempt offensive actions in Donetsk, Krasny Liman and Kupyansk directions.
UPDATE: MOSCOW, July 6-RIA Novosti. “The armed forces attacked a place of accumulation of military equipment and barracks in Lviv, where there were about 800 Ukrainian soldiers and mercenaries, a source in the Defense Ministry told RIA Novosti.
“The target of today’s strike on the enemy’s strategic reserves was Western military equipment and militants on the territory of the Ground Forces Academy in Lviv. The high-precision weapon strike was carried out on the park area of the academy, where there were Western-made armored vehicles and, with a high degree of probability, including British Challenger tanks, ” the source said.

Those Chinese!
But it is more important than this. Carl Zha visited Moscow and sent back signage with Russian and Chinese languages used. Jeff Brown during his latest China visit says: “Rejection of Western empire is going cultural. China, Russia and Iran are removing English from public signs. Russia is even removing Latinization.”
Another example of decolonization from Western empire. Like India changing Bombay to Mumbai and Burma to Myanmar, China is quietly changing “Tibet” to “Xizang”, which is the Pinyin for it in Mandarin (西藏).

NATO, you know that NATO that is not involved and is not a co-belligerent, just created a little cozy special space for Ukraine. They call it a NATO-Ukraine Council and it will meet at the level of heads of state in Vilnius on July 12 – NATO Alliance statement.
The NATO involvement deepens. I wonder if the NATO-Ukraine Council can be seen as a decision-making center?

Ukraine is really doing everything it can rhetorically to create an escalation at the Zaporozhye nuclear plant in Energodar. Very dangerous situation right now.
Reports are coming in of major shelling by Ukraine into the Donbass and other areas. Mostly civilian residential and healthcare facilities have been targeted over the past 24 hours. I prefer to wait for the formal MoD statements. This will however continue until at least the NATO conference early next week.
I’ve posted up the current MoD Russia briefing as the action is wide-spread. https://sovereignista.com/globalsouthforum/topic/daily-war-room/#post-15935

As expected the SMO front line is very busy as Ukraine looks for a little bit of a win that they can report to the NATO meeting next week. Multipĺe attacks are being tried against Russia and little and big meatgrinders are operating non-stop. Russia will not give Ukraine the opportunity to create even a little bit of a win anywhere. From a captured Ukrainian soldier comes the story that they do not want to use Western supplied materiel, because these weapons are being specifically targeted by Russia. Of course! The first million rubles have been handed to the first soldier of Russia that took out the first Leopard tank!
The biggest talk is that of an attack on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant. The Ukrainians are talking about this possibility non-stop.
Rosenergoatom Raises Concerns Over Potential Attack on ZNPP Storage Facilities by Ukrainian Armed Forces
Rosenergoatom is concerned about a potential attack on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to Renat Karchaa, an adviser to the head of Rosenergoatom, who made the statement during an interview on Soloviev Live.
Karchaa mentioned the possibility of the cooling system being disrupted through missile strikes. While acknowledging the dangers associated with such an attack, he expressed confidence in being able to manage the situation, albeit with great difficulty.
The expert believes that the enemy’s objective is to create a heightened radiation background within the plant’s premises, placing the blame on Russia. The intention is to spread contamination across large areas and then exploit the resulting crisis to raise allegations of Russia being a nuclear terrorist state.
It is important to note that the Zaporozhye NPP is currently located within an area of special military operations, which is a cause of significant concern for Russia and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The Russian Foreign Ministry has repeatedly emphasized the international community’s obligation to prevent any shelling of the Zaporozhye NPP by Ukraine, considering it unacceptable.

Drone attacks on Moscow region (New Moscow) and the attacks failed:An attempt by the Kyiv regime to attack the area where civilian infrastructure facilities are located, including the airport, which by the way accepts foreign flights, is another act of terrorism.
Considering that Zelensky is carrying out these terrorist attacks with weapons supplied by the West or purchased with Western funds, this is international terrorism.
The world community must realize that the United States, Britain, France – permanent members of the UN Security Council – finance the terrorist regime. – Maria Zakharova

Israeli attacks on Yenin Refugee CampIran has asserted that Palestinians could achieve their goals against Israel only through the use of force, as the regime continues its unabated onslaught on the occupied West Bank city of Jenin.
Iran’s mission to the United Nations told Newsweek that Tehran is ready to help Palestinians win over the regime through use of “force.”
“Based on Iran’s assessment, Palestinians cannot regain their seized rights from the Israeli regime through negotiation, as the Israeli regime only responds to force,” the mission said.
“Therefore, Iran supports any request for assistance from the Palestinian resistance,” it added.

The Israeli army has launched a large-scale operation in the city of Jenin, according to an announcement by the IDF. The city is reported to be completely blocked off. The stated objective of the operation is to eliminate local armed underground groups.
Significant forces of the Israeli army, including armored vehicles and bulldozers, have been deployed to the area to remove barricades. It is known that ten Palestinians have been killed in the clashes. The Israeli army has lost a drone, and at least one soldier has been injured.

China has just held a peace conference. There are two articles of note from the Global Times. This one, that talks about Chinese Vice President Han Zheng’s opening speech, and this one, that handles Dilma Rousseff’s comments. A reminder – Dilma is from the New Development Bank (commonly known as the BRICS Bank.
The core is: “…China’s core propositions of promoting dialogue and a political solution to the Ukraine issue have gradually become a broad consensus in the international community. And recently, the reconciliation between Saudi Arabia and Iran brokered by Beijing has also caused a chain reaction, sparking a wave of reconciliation in the Middle East, creating a good demonstration effect to the international community…”
