Daily Chronicles

The Daily Chronicles are snippets of the most important news across the world (and a joke or two) for this and each day as it rolls in – as such, this thread is non-structured with the latest news on top.

Sarmat

Putin: Spoke to graduates of military universities and announced that the new Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM) will soon be ready for deployment.  Sarmat ICBM weighs 100 tonnes (for comparison, the US made LGM-30 Minuteman is 35 tonnes) with a range of 18,000km.  This allows it to carry around 15 warheads, up to 750kt. (For comparison – the bomb US dropped on Hiroshima was 15kt.) This would be enough to wipe out a country the size of France. It can also carry hypersonic missiles, rendering most missile defence systems ineffective.  (appropriate soundtrack Eagles:  Take it to the Limit one more Time, or perhaps, My Sweet Lord!).

Putin: now there is a lull in the offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces due to the fact that they are suffering losses – https://ria.ru/20230621/vsu-1879599237.html

Over 800 (low estimate) kia over the past 24 hours according to the MoD.  This is a simple add together and of course is low, as I have not added anything excepting the actual numbers.

Another drone attack on Moscow: An attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack on targets in the Moscow region by three aircraft-type drones has been foiled today.

▫️ All the UAVs were overwhelmed by electronic warfare, as a result of which they lost control and crashed.

▫️ As a result of the failed terrorist attack, there were no casualties or damage.

The Russia side grain deal with end on July 18.  The statement is that the UN has basically acknowledged it can do nothing to fulfill its promises.  RT did a fair piece this time:  https://www.rt.com/news/578380-grain-deal-ukraine-un/

I am not sure what effect this will have on the Ukraine side and how Turkiye will handle transportation of these commodities, food and fertilizer.  Russia will continue delivering to poorer countries, using their own resources and organizing their own insurance.

Dollar dominance – Empire strikes back:

Jun 21

Despite some upbeat press, Blinken accomplished absolutely nothing of substance in his visit to China.  All he received, were lectures and he was told that they hear his words, but they would need to see right actions.  So, a schoolyard bully, Biden resorted to name-calling and called Xi Jinping a ‘dictator’ that was embarrassed about the lost weather balloon.  Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning described the remarks as “extremely absurd,” adding that they “seriously violated China’s political dignity.”  “It is an open political provocation,” Mao stressed.

There will be no détente in this relationship.

Sanctions proof North-South Route – Russia – Saudi Arabia and all stops in-between

The first container train to Saudi Arabia left from Chelyabinsk-Gruzovoy station of the South Urals Railway and is en route. The 42 containers carry energy equipment and nonferrous metals for export. The train moves along a specialized schedule string designed for freight transportation along the route, using expedited delivery through the territory of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Iran.

At least we have somebody saying something as Israel has increased the rate of grabbing settlement lands that belong to Palestine.

Stop Settlements! UN Chief Tells Israel

Calling it a “flagrant violation of international law”,  Secretary General Antonio Guterres has called Israel’s behavior (https://t.me/RT_India_official/19906) a “major obstacle” in achieving a viable two-state solution.

Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu:

‘The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue on offensive operation in the South Donetsk, Zaporozhye, and Donetsk direction. The Kiev region deploys large amounts of western weaponry and elite units, trained by NATO instructors.

Since 4 June 2023, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have launched 263 attacks at Russian Forces positions.

Due to competent and dedicated actions of Russian units, all attacks have been repelled, the enemy failed to achieve its goals.

Judging by our information, the Armed Forces of Ukraine command plans to launch strikes at Russian Federation territory, including Crimea, with HIMARS and Storm Shadow missiles.

❗️Deployment of these particular missiles out of the special military operation zone will be regarded as direct involvement of USA and UK in the conflict and will result in immediate retaliatory strikes at decision-making centres in Ukraine territory’.

The Friendship Games.  Mr Putin announced these games, clearly a competitor to the Olympics, some time ago:

The Friendship Games, the BRICS Games, and the Games of the Future tournament will be held in Russia.  This was announced at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. A large-scale sporting program was organized as part of the SPIEF 2023, and agreements were signed to:

▪️ hold a forum on the interaction of sports and bookmakers;
▪️ hold the Summer Games of the Deaflympians “We are together. Sport” in Ufa.

BRICS – full spectrum dominance being attempted during the run-up to the BRICS summit which will be in Johannesburg from 22 – 24 August:

South Africa is still being punished.  The President is walking into serious controversy in his country after the African peace mission.  I’ll update on that.

Modi’s visit to the US is extreme pomp and circumstance.  One can almost see the honey being applied around Modi’s mouth.

Thursday, U.S. President Joe Biden will meet India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi on an official state visit in Washington D.C, which includes a South Lawn welcome, a state dinner, and an address to a joint session of Congress—an honor rarely granted to a visiting foreign leader. Modi will become just the third world leader, after France’s Emmanuel Macron and South Korea’s Yoon Suk Yeol, to receive this kind of diplomatic reception from President Biden.

The objective here is to break India from China and orient it as a new manufacturing base (as China originally was planned to be), for the US and collective west.

So far, Modi is saying the right things:

In the war in Ukraine, India stands for peace, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told The Wall Street Journal on the eve of his first visit to the United States.

“Some say we are neutral. But we are not neutral. We are on the side of the world. All countries must respect international law and the sovereignty of countries,” Modi said and called for resolving disputes through “diplomacy and dialogue” rather than war.  New Delhi will support “every real attempt to end the conflict and guarantee sustainable peace and stability,” he said.

In general, Modi’s message was that India is ready to take a more important place in the system of international relations and economy.  “India deserves a much higher, deeper and broader profile and role,” the prime minister said.  He called for changes in the UN and other international organizations to adapt them to a more multipolar world order and to increase the representation of less wealthy countries in them.

Brazil is next up for destabilization.

Ukraine’s Controversial Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Appointed Ambassador To Brazil

Andrey Melnik is often critical of the West for not doing enough to aid Ukraine during the ongoing conflict, demanding fighter jets and instructing Germany on how it should conduct its foreign policy.  He also served as Ambassador to Germany from 2014 to 2022.

We know that China’s flagship project is Belt and Road.  Mr Lavrov has defined Russia’s flagship project.

Building support for the Greater Eurasian Partnership project could be seen as the flagship project of Russia’s foreign policy, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday.

“Our flagship foreign political project is to [build] support for the concept of the Greater Eurasian Partnership. What we’re talking about is facilitating the objective process of forming a broad integrative configuration that is open for all countries and associations across our vast continent. Practical steps are already being made [in this direction],” Lavrov said.

These include the processes of interlinking the complementary development plans of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and China’s Belt and Road Initiative, expanding interaction within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) with the involvement of SCO observer states and dialogue partners, strengthening the strategic partnership between Russia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and establishing working contacts among the executive bodies of the EAEU, SCO and ASEAN, the foreign minister noted.

“Among the concrete deliverables [of these processes] we envision the provision of mutually beneficial, interlinking infrastructure and the creation of a continent-wide architecture of peace, development and cooperation throughout Greater Eurasia,” Lavrov added.  (From TASS)

Over the past 24 hours, denazification and demilitarization continued unabated.  SMO is on target and on track.

“❗️The Russian Armed Forces launched a long-range sea-based high-precision weapons group strike against foreign-manufactured military hardware storage sites. All the assigned targets have been neutralised. The goal of the attack has been reached.

Ukraine forces are still trying offensive attempts. The ‘butcher’s bill’ was not so bad, only in excess of 500 Ukrainian soldiers. What a sick world we live in, if we don’t even pay attention to a human attrition rate of anything less than about 800 per day these days.

◽️During the day, the most active AFU offensive attempts were in South Donetsk and Donetsk directions.

I had a quick look at the msm, and all they can publish are war romance novels.  Are they hiring novelists and screenplay writers now?  https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-65921377.  There are new hints and gossips in the air that Ukraine is ‘postponing’ the counteroffensive, or holding off, or something similar for a week.  It is difficult to unpack cocaine-fueled unhinged babble.  Ukraine claims that they’ve recaptured eight settlements says the msm (and of course, the stories that the five air defense Patriots were all taken out, is not true, maintains Zelenski).  This is a war with a terrible human attrition rate and a television presentation in the west.

What I do not see, is what is next?  What I do see, is ‘cold feet’ sprouting in western climes.  How this will manifest is unsure, as Russia holds the imperative, the timeline and the cards.  The French military told Le Monde that 40% of the Ukrainian armed forces trained by NATO instructors in the Baltic countries had been killed.  Stoltenberg says that NATO’s arsenals are devastated and claims many states may need to spend even more than NATO guideline of 2% of their GDP on the military if they want to “strengthen collective defense”.  Weapons running out, money running out, soldiers dead?  Scott Ritter, Larry Johnson and other educated commentators consider mid-to-end summer as the extreme endpoint of this war.  I don’t know, as I’ve learned not to try and outguess the Russian command and control.  But it sure seems as if we are at some kind of an end here.  Stoltenberg lives in an alternative universe, saying that Ukraine should continue liberating land.  “The more land they liberate, the stronger their position at the negotiating table will be.”  Thing is, we don’t see ‘liberated lands’ anywhere.

Washington and London expect that when the Ukrainians run out of manpower, the Poles will take their place, and then the Germans , said Sergei Naryshkin, director of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation, in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.  “When the Ukrainians, as they say, run out, the Poles will come in their place, and then, probably, the Germans,” he noted. “It sounds extremely cynical, but this is precisely the logic of the strategic plans of Washington and London, this is clear, including materials”.  This may then well be the war continuity or succession planning in the minds of the western thinkers.

Translation from American: Ze is losing and its US sponsors are having cold feet. Hence these fairy tales-never after WW2 has my country been more united, stronger, mobilized and determined to defeat NATO in its proxy war in Ukraine. Underestimating us is NATO’s strategic failure https://t.co/uRcUB9hM8y

The Blinken visit to China contains nothing substantial, at least in the public domain.  This is the ‘on the street’ Chinese perspective:

And it illustrates the Chinese message that is very nuanced but still filters through in the readouts:  Words mean nothing, especially when you’ve proven your word is useless.  We will wait for your actions.

A Carpet of the Dead. Usually, the Russian Mod presents two pages of crisp and factual information on the SMO. Today’s report consists of five short reports and then the usual two pages. They could not fit all the dead into their normal report.  It starts here:  https://t.me/mod_russia_en/7936

Stunning!  Overnight the South African press turned and while a day ago, they were sympathetic to the plight of the 120 or so peace delegation support staff stuck (kept hostage) in Poland, obviously the punishment to South Africa will continue.  Today, the South African press has headlines such as “Ramaphosa’s multimillion-rand traveling circus: President’s security was warned about Poland permits.”   This one is worth reading, because it illustrates the hold that the west has on the South African press.  This is all about smearing Putin.  African peace mission: Live stream broadcasting Russia talks cut as Putin interrupted presentations

A little more from Maria Zakharova:

West Pressured Countries To Skip SPIEF — Moscow

The US and its allies threatened countries with consequences if they decided to send delegations to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said.

Speaking to the TASS news agency on the sidelines of the forum in Russia’s second-largest city on Saturday, Zakharova was asked whether the West had tried to pressure nations that intended to participate in the event.

“There was immense pressure,” she replied, adding that “literally every country” was approached. “They wrote letters. Threats were made during the meetings,” she claimed.

Washington was the “leader” of these efforts and was helped by other “NATO-centric countries,” the spokeswoman said.

I do hope Modi is on his feet and firm to withstand the pressure while he is walking into the dragon’s teeth.

African Delegation Has Arrived in St. Petersburg

President Putin will meet separately with counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa – Dmitri Peskov.

DEVELOPING | No flight clearance: President’s 120 security personnel to return to SA after Russian trip fiasco

And the Poles?  Well, today they say they had nothing to do with it but that the SA delegates just decided to stay for no reason. If any other country competes with Ukraine as the most racist & fascist it’s Poland but this is clearly also about stopping the president’s team from getting to Russia (https://twitter.com/fiorellaisabelm/status/1669817420293492736?s=46&t=I3Tf84uXIVr7OooTGsu_9g).

Imagine that!  The African delegation held itself hostage in Poland.

India More Important Than China… For Now – Jake Sullivan has elevated the visit of Indian PM Modi above America’s top diplomat heading to China.

Antony Blinken’s Beijing trip will be “a significant event” but “not even the most significant event of next week when it comes to US foreign policy,” Jake Sullivan told media in Tokyo.

Yes, they will wine and dine Modi, and try and make him tumble toward the west.

The Ukrainian cupboard is fast becoming bare!  Weapons running out, soldiers running out, money running out.

Federal Finance Minister Christian Lindner sees no possibility for additional German payments to the EU budget, which has been completely exhausted due to Ukraine’s aid.

Last night was another slaughter:  https://t.me/mod_russia_en/7923

💥On 16 June, the Russian Armed Forces launched a long-range sea- and air-based high-precision group strike against one of the decision-making centres of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

◽️The goal of the attack has been reached. The assigned target has been neutralised.

The gossip pages suggest:  “According to a Readovka source on Frunzenskaya Embankment, the attack on decision-making centers, which the Russian Defense Ministry announced today, was carried out several kilometers north of Kiev. The military headquarters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was located there – at the time of the strike, high-ranking employees of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine were in it.

https://vk.com/@580896205-part-two-2023-spief

Thank-you Karl!  We are very fortunate to have this from you.

An Update:

More than 900 agreements worth 3.8 trillion rubles ($45.5 billion) have been signed at the 2023 edition of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Russian presidential advisor and SPIEF executive secretary Anton Kobyakov says.

📍More than 17,000 participants from 130 countries took part in the forum, he added.

I also checked out a Maria Zakharova note, who said that all of these countries had to contend with Washington’s pressure and threats trying to get them not to take part.

I’m continually amazed, at another site with which we are all familiar, that a couple of very intelligent regulars, whose hearts seem to be in the right place, feel compelled to express sentiments of white supremacy at every opportunity. Despite their intelligence, they fail to see that they are doing… Read more »

The constant, near-daily, pinpoint long-range Russian missiling has had several excellent benefits, in addition to tactical-operational tasks. It helped shatter NATO solidarity, exposing the lying USUK media Narrative of expiring stocks. Rather it revealed superior Russian military industrial capability, raising the very fear of God in deviant limitrophes. It demonstrated what was coming… Read more »

London and Washington run the show in the “rules-based world order,” trying to dictate policy to their own allies as well as countries outside the West, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told RT on Friday. https://www.rt.com/news/578172-lavrov-anglo-saxon-west/ “This is not what we see in the West these days. The criminal UN “peacekeeping” fig leaf begins to be stripped in Africa. I spoke on this trite western UN legerdemain in Lineaments 07, subsection A-2.. Semi-occupied countries now tire of the game. UN will quickly need fundamental reform or it dies like the League of Nations amongst the Global South.  Mali… Read more »
