Daily Chronicles

The Daily Chronicles are snippets of the most important news across the world for this and each day as it rolls in – as such, this thread is non-structured with the latest news on top. The rough theme: It is a shouting world!

April 23

From M. K. BHADRAKUMAR at his Indian Punchline – a realistic assessment of what is going on in the Sudan.

https://www.indianpunchline.com/sudan-alignment-of-forces-players/

Summary: However, the Anglo-American agenda remains dubious. Their focus is on internationalising the crisis, injecting big power rivalries into the Sudanese situation and willy-nilly create pretexts for western intervention. But any attempt to reignite the embers of the Arab Spring will be hugely consequential for regional security and stability. The Gulf states and Egypt will need to be particularly watchful.

Sudan would have figured in the phone conversation between the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday.

April 23

Update:  Very quickly we received a formal translation:

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s comment (https://mid.ru/en/foreign_policy/news/1865026/) on the non-issuance of US visas to Russian journalists to visit the UN headquarters during the Russian Federation’s chairmanship at the UN Security Council

💬 Dear friends, of course, I was aware how well our American colleagues are known for such things but I was certain that this time it would be different, considering the focus placed on their ugly behaviour. I was mistaken.

The country that calls itself the strongest, the smartest, the freest and the most just, has chickened out, did an unwise, stupid thing, that I am convinced of, by showing what its asseverations about protecting freedom of speech and access to information are really worth.

We will also have to work for you, show more energy, and put more effort into bringing the truth to the world community and the public.

Please try to keep track of what we are going to do there and spread this truth through your channels. I am convinced that it will draw much more interest all over the world than the “filtered” information that our Western colleagues bring down on the heads of their viewers, listeners, and readers.

⚡️ Most importantly, be sure that we will not forget or forgive.

Mr Lavrov is visibly upset because his press corps is not with him. He says ‘we will not forgive, we will not forget.’ (The translation is not excellent and clearly not professional, but one can make out the general gist of his comments.)

April 23

Maria Zakharova on her TG channel says that the Russian press corps for the visit of Lavrov to the UNSC are standing on the airport – 40 minutes before the plane departs – and they have no visas.
On Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s participation in the upcoming UNSC meetings

🌐 On April 24, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will take part in one of the key events of our country’s presidency at the UN Security Council, an open debate on the agenda item “Effective multilateralism through the defence of the principles of the Charter of the United Nations.”

The main goal of the meeting is to offer member states an opportunity to reaffirm their unconditional commitment to the core provisions of the UN Charter, primarily those with regard to strong adherence to the sovereign equality of states and refraining from interference in their domestic affairs.

🇵🇸 On April 25, Sergey Lavrov will chair another UNSC high-level event, an open debate under the agenda item “The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question.”

The Palestine problem which is central to the Middle East settlement process, is further from a solution than ever. It adds more urgency to the overall task of restoring the peace horizon and reaffirming the commonly acknowledged international-law basis for the settlement, including the two-state formula.

The whole world is shouting it out!  No More Hegemon!

Venezuela VP Delcy Rodriques: “The United States is at war with the world; economic war, military war… The United States has issued more than 20,000 unilateral coercive measures. 35 countries are victims of unilateral coercive measures, and this represents 28% of countries worldwide… They said ‘this is targeted for the officials’ and all the Venezuelan people ended up sanctioned. We are talking about… a 99% drop in foreign currency revenues… Credit rating agencies? Pawns in this war. … We started to reverse this trend, with a lot of effort from our people. Thanks to the Venezuelan people. What they call an “economic miracle” is not an economic miracle, nor a neoliberal miracle or anything else, it is the miracle of the Venezuelan people in resistance.”   https://orinocotribune.com/venezuela-vp-delcy-rodriguez-sanctions-are-imperialisms-attacks-on-sovereign-countries/

Nicaragua President DANIEL ORTEGA: “World War III is already underway. This is World War III. Why? Because it is the United States and Europe using Ukraine to seek how to disappear Russia. The same thing that happened in World War II… and the first troops that entered the bunker then in Germany were the troops of the Soviet Union. They were the first to enter. In other words, the victory, the great defeat and the victory of the peoples rested on the Russian people, on the Red Army, on the Soviet people. And now we are seeing the same story… The Russian Federation is fighting a battle for peace. It’s not against a nation. It’s against the fascists, the Nazis who staged a coup d’état there in Ukraine and settled there. It’s Hitler’s children who are ruling there… meanwhile, NATO harassing Russia with more weapons, more bases, and the United States leading the orchestra of international terrorists…”

Mexico President AMLO: “No foreign government would dare to set foot in our territory. In any case, if they did, it is not only the marines and the soldiers who will defend Mexico, every Mexican will defend Mexico.”

Russia Ministry of Foreign Affairs: “The Zelensky regime continues to borrow money: its military spending, the social sector, healthcare, education and other vitally important spheres are sponsored by the West. Naturally, it is not doing this free of charge. The bulk of financial aid arrives in the form of repayable loans, and the share of grants remains low. Although Ukraine can delay repaying its foreign debt until 2027, no one is going to write it off. Ukraine’s budget for 2023 provides for a doubling of the payments to service the foreign debt. The main burden will undoubtedly have to be shouldered by ordinary Ukrainians since Ukraine has no other sources of funding. In this situation, Kiev authorities cynically believe that continued hostilities are their only salvation.”

IRAN FOREIGN MINISTRY SPOKESMAN: “The American regime is the godfather of ISIL.”

NORTH KOREA FOREIGN MINISTER: “The U.S. and the West have no right to say this or that about the DPRK’s position as a nuclear weapons state, and it will never change no matter what they say… The position of the DPRK as a world-class nuclear power is final and irreversible. G7, a closed group of a handful of egoistic countries, does not represent the just international community but serves as a political tool for ensuring the U.S. hegemony.”

Cuban ambassador at EU parliament:  “US has no rights to impose its law on European soil,” Cuban Ambassador in France, Otto Vaillant, said at the European Parliament, referring to the extraterritorial application of US sanctions against Cuba. Within hours, his speech was removed by YouTube.
Putin: “This trend in the world towards multipolarity is inevitable. The trend will only get stronger. And those who do not follow this trend will lose. This fact is absolutely obvious. This is as obvious as the rise of the sun. There’s nothing you can do about it. Those who try to prevent this, they will only face additional problems, which they already have enough. Well, God be with them.”
China Foreign Minister QIN GANG: “Having suffered among the heaviest casualties in the world anti-fascist alliance during WWII, as founding member of the UN and as the first country to sign the UN Charter, China sees it as its solemn duty to defend the authority of the UN and uphold the post-war international order… Fair-minded people can see full well who is exploiting and discarding the UN at its own will, who is disrupting the international order, and who is engaged in hegemonic, bullying and high-handed practices… Their definition of rules, status quo and stability is in fact aimed to hollow out the one-China principle, achieve ‘peaceful division’ of China, and ultimately tamper with the history of WWII, subvert the post-war order, and trample on China’s sovereignty. This is unacceptable to the 1.4 billion Chinese people. China will not lose any part of its territory that has been restored. And the established post-war international order will not be upended.”

April 23

Korea times (https://m.koreatimes.co.kr/pages/article.asp?newsIdx=349555)

EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell called on European navies to patrol the disputed Taiwan Strait, in an opinion piece in a French weekly published Sunday.

That would be the end of the ‘European navies’.

April 23

Something has shifted in South Africa. It has been years since China would not give them loans and stopped the draw-down facility that South Africa had with China, because of the excessive problems with state capture of resources, a fancy name for outright theft by the truckload and corruption just as bad as Ukraine.  I saw a while ago that the new head of the power generation organizations ran straight to the Chinese embassy to beg for help.  But it has been crickets from the Chinese side up to now.  Now we have a plan to make an agreement.  Note, China will supply expertise, equipment, and consultation, but no money at this stage.  I would not be surprised if China takes over functional management and allows some lackey to pretend to be in charge.   (China must have some kind of assurance that they can solve the on-the-ground extreme theft problem by organized groups of racketeers).  Power and electricity are first, then communication, and then will follow job creation through infrastructure, like high-speed rail and working ports.  For the first time, I feel a little hope.   What is sure is that with the history here, China will drive a hard bargain.  On the social side, will China obey those racist laws on the books if they get to run this?

April 22

Eat yer hearts out: a little joy, a selfie from the committed, whip-smart and beautiful Maria Zakharova on her channel.  She is tired and states:

Out of five days, fifty hours in the sky ✈️
Now I’m checking if you can read eyes. Time has gone

April 22

Two minutes from Scott Ritter with his update on Ukraine.  The highly acclaimed ‘Ukraine spring offensive’ has flopped at the box office and Scott estimates that by August, Ukraine will not be Ukraine any longer.  Interesting but I’ve learned during this SMO that the Russian approach is asymmetric and they surprise us every time.   You will have to listen to it on his TG channel.

From Brian Mier on Brazil

This is more by Brian Mier.  A very thorough article that he wrote for FAIR titled: Western Outlets Send Warning to Lula Over Ukraine Dissent

An addition to my extensive collection of protest music.

Not a ‘tone of neutrality’

April 20

There is nobody in the US that is reliable on the axis of peace. They are warmongers in their genes.  Robert Kennedy Jr has thrown his hat into the ring for President, but with that hat, he puts down his credentials as a warmonger.

Nephew of former US President John F. Kennedy, presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr.: I want to say that we are in Ukraine for the right reasons. My own son Connor, I am very proud of him, joined the Foreign Legion and fought in Ukraine during the Kharkov offensive as a machine gunner in a special forces group.

This is the man who runs the Children’s Defense against jabs, during Covid.  And this is the problem.  Do we need to defend those children so that we can send them to kill others as machine gunners?

April 20

The United States will allocate a new $325 million package of military assistance to Ukraine – The White House.

The more sanctions, the more exceptions are needed.  They’ve created an administrative quagmire:

The European Union believes that there will be no new sanctions against the Russian Federation, since if new restrictions are introduced, this will entail more exceptions, the Financial Times reported, citing officials.

“If we impose more sanctions, there will be more exceptions than measures,” the newspaper quoted one of the sources, who also stressed that the new sanctions were over. Most European officials believe that without those sectors of the Russian economy that are not subject to restrictive measures, one or more EU member countries will not be able to exist, the newspaper writes.

April 20

They’re nuts!  A NASA satellite fell right out of the sky on Kiev.

Wednesday night saw air raid sirens sound across parts of Ukraine and military installations take a beating, especially those used for launching deadly drone (https://t.me/RT_India_official/16441) and missile attacks (https://t.me/RT_India_official/16247?single) on 🇷🇺 civilian areas, however Kiev’s leaders got caught on a lie.

Footage of a rocket spread quickly on social media, despite govt warnings not to post any videos or pics of Russian attacks, and Ukraine’s govt “confirmed” that the object was…a NASA satellite.

It was denied by NASA and it was a Russian missile that fell on the heads of Kiev.

Pepe Escobar believes it was a satellite:

A SATELLITE FALLS IN KIEV…

A subtle message from Moscow.

You wanna keep escalatin’?

Fine. Then some of your toys will start falling out of space.

Beautifully timed to coincide with the visit by the Chinese Defense Minister.

They were discussing technical-military cooperation at the highest level.

Looks like the Exceptionalists are startin’ to get the message.

India may be cleaning up NGO’s under pretext.

Oxfam Charged with Alleged Foreign Funding Violations: 🇮🇳’s Central Bureau of Investigation

The FIR is based on a complaint by the Home Affairs Min Director (Foreigners-II Div) Jeetendar Chadha, alleging the NGO tried to pressure the govt to renew its registration through the foreign govts and entities act. (reports)

Oxfam India – whose Delhi offices were raided Wednesday after the FIR – was reportedly among some 5,900 NGOs whose registrations ended in Jan 2022 – some didn’t apply for renewal while the others’ applications were rejected by the Home Min.

As per Chadha’s complaint, Oxfam India continued to transfer foreign contributions to other entities since the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Act, which prohibits such transfers, came into effect.

April 20

The previous Chronicles reported that South Korea had stated that they will supply weapons to Ukraine.  Mr Medvedev immediately hit back and reminded South Korea that the North may just receive modern Russian weapons.

South Korea caved immediately.  “South Korea is not supplying Ukraine with weapons for the sake of stability in relations with Russia, South Korean news agency reported on Thursday, citing an official with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol’s office.”

April 20

More and more countries are simply not agreeing to EU or US envoys in their countries.  Nicaragua uninvited its EU envoy.

Nicaragua’s Sandinista government rejected the EU representative, stating: “We reiterate to the neocolonialists of the European Union our condemnation of all their historical genocides and we demand justice & reparations for these crimes against humanity”

April 20

Tying up with Nicaragua, it is common knowledge that China is not answering US phone calls.  Global Times explained all of this in an Op Ed titled:

With busy diplomacy, China has no time to receive insincere people

From Russia we have the nomenclature of ‘unfriendly countries‘ and China has now given it a name as well:  ‘insincere people‘.

Redacted’s Clayton Morris asks the question – is it over for NATO? The facts are starting to trickle out that a Russian Kinzhal hypersonic missile has completely destroyed the Ukrainian military command centre not far from the Western city of Lviv. This was a 400-foot-deep bunker and reportedly around 300… Read more »

The short clip of RFK jr above (dated the 20th) is a FAKE. It’s tragic that the usual suspects are producing such fakes now.
