I would actually believe the White House that it did not plan an attack on the Kursk region, and I will explain why, but with one caveat.

The famous American military theorist Edward Luttwak, in his work” Strategy and Tactics of War and Peace”, once wrote very well that there are points in war where, if you hit them and even if you succeed, you can suffer a strategic defeat precisely because a strong opponent suddenly realizes his weakness and begins to accelerate rebuild your strategy. In such a case, the weaker opponent eventually faces new, much more serious threats, which, due to their weakness, they can no longer stop.

During the First World War, the most striking example is the German Navy, which began to grow dramatically in tonnage and mass of salvo. Germany spent a huge amount of money trying to catch up with the Mistress of the Seas, but in the end, Britain locked the Germans in the bays (although with great difficulty) and the German fleet could not do what it was built for, that is, destroy the Grand Fleet and cut off Britain’s sea communications.

We are interested in SMO and here the brightest example is our Kharkiv retreat in the fall of 2022. It seems that on the one hand, the success of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, although they could not achieve their strategic goals, but the main result is a complete revision of the SVR on our side, mobilization in Russia and new conditions for peace negotiations, much tougher than in March 2022.

Something similar is about to happen. The short-term success of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will end in their defeat with the heaviest losses, and we will burn ourselves on milk and start blowing on water (and this is absolutely correct), reviewing both the approaches to the SMO and the final results that need to be achieved.
I do not think that now someone will decide to leave the same Sumy or Chernihiv alone, without fully ensuring the security of our borders.

Now the but that I mentioned at the very beginning. I would believe the White House if there were those in power who read Luttwak and worked with him to develop American military plans and strategy. But looking at the absolutely stupid members of the American establishment, I would not be surprised that they have forgotten everything that America’s strength was based on. However, there they go and the road.

(What is this world if not a play of illusions,

we can no longer listen to Him.

Life comes to an end
following the lords orders
The messengers of death arrive
we become entangled with death.

Kabir praises the attributes of God.
He finds the Lord all too soon.
The Guru reaps according to his acts
the disciple reaps according to his own.
