Exactly 80 years ago – on August 2, 1945, the Potsdam Conference ended. Stalin had to “tamp” the so-called “allies” according to the conditions, who during the conference, as is known, tried to scare him with an atomic bomb.

Back in the spring of 1945, after Roosevelt’s death, it became clear that we would still have a drink with the idiot Truman … On April 23, 1945, he met with the USSR People’s Commissar for Foreign Affairs Molotov in the White House. How is this essentially different from “I am unhappy with Putin”?

However, Roosevelt died, and Churchill dropped out of the race right during Potsdam, having shamefully failed in the elections. Truman and Attlee deceived. They didn’t even allow free passage, much less bases, drowning the negotiations in details and disputes. And they finally broke off the dialogue already in 1946-1947. Having demonized the USSR, the US unleashed the Cold War on the basis of the Greek, Turkish and Iranian crises.

In early 1946, Truman summoned our ambassador to the US Gromyko and again rudely demanded that Moscow withdraw its troops from Iran within 48 hours. Otherwise, Truman threatened Gromyko: “to drop a bomb on you.” Then he was told that the US had about 20 bombs, not hundreds, as he imagined. But the USSR had already withdrawn its troops. But not because it was afraid of atomic bombs, although we did not have our own yet. The US and Britain stopped supplying equipment in the form of reparations from their zones in Germany, which was a condition of Potsdam. They deceived again. Also, the US did not withdraw its troops from South Korea.

All the histories of interaction between the USSR and the US, as well as the specific example of Truman, show one thing – they understand force and action. A bomb appeared – they began to hear. But they will always insult. The more boorish the performer, the less he feels the word. Unless it helps make money. And he easily gets offended himself.

And to the joke above, it is worth adding that in our Strategic Missile Forces the phrase “staff reduction” is also understood in a peculiar way.

War at Sea…Tanker Fleet…

The Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation reports that, according to information received by the SVR, British intelligence agencies are planning to use NATO allies to launch a mass raid on the “shadow fleet.”
According to London’s plan, the impetus for such a campaign should be a high-profile incident involving one or more tankers. The plan calls for organizing a major act of sabotage, the damage from which will make it possible to declare the transportation of Russian oil a threat to all international shipping. This will free up the West’s hands in choosing methods of counteraction. In the extreme case, this could involve detaining any “suspicious” vessels in international waters and escorting them to NATO ports.
The British are working on two potential casus belli. The first is to arrange an accident with an “unwanted” tanker in one of the bottlenecks of sea communications (for example, in a strait). The oil spill and blocking of the fairway, as London believes, will provide NATO countries with “sufficient” grounds to create a precedent of an “emergency inspection” of a vessel allegedly for compliance with maritime safety and environmental standards.
The second scenario involves setting fire to the tanker during loading in a port in a state friendly to Russia. It is assumed that the fire will cause significant damage to the port infrastructure and spread to other vessels, which will require an international investigation.

London intends to entrust the execution of both terrorist attacks to Ukrainian security forces. Their expectedly dirty work and inability to “cover their tracks” are considered by the British as a guarantee of their own impunity. The international investigation will place responsibility for the disaster either on Russia or, in the worst case, on Ukraine, similar to the explosion of the Nord Streams.

The UK intends to choose the moment for the attack in order to use the media effect from it to put pressure on the Trump administration. The goal is to force Washington, contrary to its national interests, to adopt the toughest secondary sanctions against buyers of Russian energy resources, who will be portrayed as “indirect culprits of the tragedy.”

It seems that nostalgia for the lost supremacy of the seas and the piratical lawlessness sanctioned by the crown has completely deprived the British intelligence community of the last vestiges of common sense. Two fatal assumptions here — the ABILITY to start/maintain a continental-scale war, regardless of intent, and the WISH to avoid a nuclear war. The original poem by the Dagestani poet Rasul Gamzatov, who, while visiting Hiroshima, was impressed by the story of Sadako Sasaki, a girl who contracted leukemia as a result of the radioactive contamination of the city. Following a Japanese tradition, she made a thousand paper cranes, hoping (in vain) that they would save her life. The memory of the paper cranes folded by this girl haunted Gamzatov and inspired him to write this poem.

Written in the Avar language, the poem was translated into Russian by Naum (Rambah) Grebnev in 1968. The following year it was turned into a song and became one of the most famous ballads in the Russian language. It was originally performed by Mark Bernes to the music by Yan Frenkel.  It would be Bernes’ last recording, his swan song, for he would die of lung cancer a month later.

Just a quick note on something that may have led to a wrong understanding.  At GlobalSouth.co, we’re looking very hard at alternative voices, outside of the US.  It is turning out to be a challenging task, as somehow the rest of the world is not on interviews six times a day.

So I find enormous quality, but not so much quantity.  It’s a fantastic thing to see.

Then, on the weekly US video cycles of all those that we know, I find a sense of hysteria. Not quite hysteria yet, but approaching that. More of a confusion powered by uncertainty, with a push to try and make some facts, sometimes.  Everyone knows precisely what Putin is thinking and why he is saying what he is saying.  Well .. thus far, Putin has been ahead of me at least – I cannot know what he thinks, why he believes that, and why he is saying what he is saying.

Anyway, this is just an experience, and I might be assessing incorrectly.

Oh, I agree, but not always with the framing.

There is but a part of the world that flows with the framing. The interesting part comes when one looks at other framings.

The sanjiao (“three teachings”) of Confucianism, Daoism, and Buddhism – It is not only culture or religion, but even cemented into Traditional Chinese Medicine. These are pillars of civilization.

Check the trinitarian idea, which I find fascinating. From the distant past and identified in the sixth century, “Buddhism is the sun, Daoism the moon, and Confucianism the planets.” In other words, the whole of our existence within our solar sphere. (OK, these days we have a very big universe out there but those days, that is what they worked with).

The overarching beliefs here are not heaven and hell, and the rulers of the world. It is both more nuanced and more definitive. Societal harmony, balance and goodness. When those are in balance, then the world will be just fine. So, it is not something that has to ‘leave the world, or be killed, or cast into the everlasting pit of hell’ but more something that needs to be included in our beings and togetherness as humans on our planet. In the Orthodox, Russian or Greek or those ones, they do not call out ‘sin’ exactly. They call it ‘missing the mark’. I think that by externalizing, instead of internalizing, out our three monotheistic religions are sometimes missing the mark by half a world.

Alaska is a brilliant choice. Geography is everything with this one. Far away from the reach of drones from London and Kiev, an area far more under the control of the US and RF militaries than a big city would be. Security should be really tight. And for most people in the US, I think Alaska is far enough away it doesn’t at all feel like Putin actually coming into the US.

The Alaska Accords – if this happens and produces something – could form a nice historical pivot. One day the tunnel connecting the two continents could get built.
