I’ll just leave it at this: i am proud to be alive to see men like Maduro, who dances and sings in the face of the most arrogant and lawless destructive force in human history. THAT is true manhood. Not bombing, or murdering. Strengthening and inspiring national resistance

Tehran’s mistake appears to be that it believes Lebanon wishes to be able to deter Israel, but at least some elements of Lebanon seem to think that Lebanon must embrace both Lebanese defenselessness and Israeli hegemony – and find a way to exist under Israeli impunity.
[Abdel Bari Atwan expects a Gaza-like bombing of Lebanon to shortly commence, unleashing commensurate totalen krieg on Zion. He specifically mentioned the Objective of the satanic Anglo-Zionists is to exterminate ALL the Shiaa community undergirding Hezbollah, as this community is as steadfast as the Palestinian, supports their Resistance to the hilt, and has unbreakable bond to Iran. This is consistent with the behavior of Legion on other fronts when defeated: to double down into the Abyss. (first 30-35 min) The Beatles’ wives, [Prince Andrew and Goldfinger’s] Virginia Giuffre, child trafficking, and the start of mass shooting of school children in the Obama era — how do they intersect with Erikkka Kirk and the sad blond girl in iPet Goat? This sick cult is really something. Obsessed with child sacrifice, abuse, harvesting, trafficking, and the very destruction of innocence. Apparently revealed throughout iPet Goat as their vehicle to universal systemic wounding and thereby implode tradition, morality and all faiths worldwide in the process of erecting Pax Barbaria. ⭕ 🇺🇳 The UN General Assembly supported UNRWA and condemned Israel’s plans to restrict the agency’s work

      • 📝 The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution in support of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), expressing regret over Israeli initiatives aimed at banning its activities in Gaza and other territories.
      • 📊 159 countries voted for the document, with 9 voting against (including the USA and Israel), and 11 abstaining. In the resolution, the GA demanded that Israel “respect the agency’s mandate” and ensure its unimpeded work. It was noted that UNRWA remains a key link in the humanitarian response in the Palestinian territories.
      • 🌐 The support of the resolution by the majority of UN members reflects the isolation of Israel’s position on humanitarian issues and intensifies diplomatic pressure amid regional escalation. For the Gulf countries, the document strengthens their arguments in favor of continuing to fund the agency and participating in humanitarian initiatives in Gaza.

I thought back during the “No Kings” protests, they were controlled opposition, seasoning and shaping the real battle to come. Mostly folks of good intent, but under the management of “movement capture.” Now, unfurling this horror adds to their grief – like seeing the development of a slow-motion train wreck, in which one is inside the train. The anticipation of trauma is often greater and more distressing than the actual injury!

They were told a gestapo was gonna be created, and it is being duly unrolled, piecemeal and with satanic glee, like the Gaza Genocide, or the Siege of Caracas. And all of it meshes nicely with Technocracy’s plan for a monarchy, which going by the cowardly Pax America refusal to openly call itself an empire, will also not announce it overtly ceased to be a republic either.

What days. That we may live to see the end of the pretense of “democracy”. The prophesied Last American Prez, because he will end the Republican phase, as certain Roman Senators ended their Republic.. And note the golden decking of the Gold Office, and his love for monarchies, emirs, dictators, and other “strong men” such as headchoppers. Birds of a flock, letting it all hang out in shameless “glory”.

The coming great consolidation is predicted and driven by so many metrics, including necessity in the bitter last mile of the hybrid global totalen krieg, to keep the restive interior quiescent and manageable in the struggle with the opposing civilizational-states. When the consent for rule cannot be granted, given such criminal plans in motion, then as the poem went, “in that case, [it is] simpler for the government To dissolve the people.”

🔸 My Thoughts on Making War Against China Many people are justifiably convinced that young Americans (and their parents) have zero interest in fighting a war against China. …
🔻 Alex Santic: In simple terms, the USA can’t afford to lose its stuff, let alone a significant chunk of it. The money printer has its limits, and credibility runs out even faster.
🔻 WS: This is why I noted just recently that, if the US attacks Venezuela, and in response the Venezuelans do no more than severely damage a destroyer and shoot down a couple F/A-18s, it would constitute a HUGE reputational blow to American military prestige.
🔻 Alex Santic: Even apart from the prospect of losing mighty — and mighty expensive — hardware, it seems to me that American military prestige has had a slow 35 year bleed. I recall that GHW Bush and Colin Powell consciously engineered a Vietnam redemption in Desert Storm. After that, the military served its most valuable purpose — people were genuinely intimidated by it. Then neocons and their derivatives tossed that out the window. People are of course still afraid of war, but towards USA I feel the mood has shifted distinctly towards a defiant “bring it on” when we threaten.
🔻 Stanley Lo: American military prestige was dealt a fatal blow last week when two Japanese F-15’s were locked-on by Chinese J-15’s radars for more than 30 minutes from distances between 60-140km away. Granted, the Japanese F-15’s are not the most newest, the best or the most capable there is. But they were basically sitting ducks in the sky not knowing where the Chinese J-15’s were. I suspect the US F/A-18’s won’t fare any better and that leaves only the F-22’s and F-35’s.
🔻 I am Groot: The US cannot afford to lose even a minor skirmish or it will lose whatever credibility it has left. This is largely why Taiwan will be alone against China. Those who have most to fear from the US? Peaceful neighbors who have resources the hegemon desires
🔻 KC Viernes: Obviously the admin know this, hence, their hesitation to go all in and just resorted to a sea/air blockade.
🔻 Luke: I gotta a feeling the first big bloody nose will be the beginning of the end. I don’t believe any of our so called leaders will know how to respond to it. Hence the call for nukes. You better believe they would.
🔻 Felix: The US won’t even get to the first island chain. As far as SEAD, it is impossible if it is out of the range of fighters. Don’t say air refueling. That works against third world countries.

There won’t be any ships for those plane to return to and the tankers will be shot down.
🔻 WS: For the US military, there are #NoEasyWarsLeftToFight — and a war against China and/or Russia would be catastrophic for them, even if nuclear weapons were never used.
[That appears the remaining deliberation and decision in the Pirate Base: where and against whom to commit The Seppuku]
🔻 BlueSky is better: The far-right Takaichi Sanae, who denies 🇯🇵s wartime aggression, is now leading a group of Japanese ultra-rightists eager to revive militarism and itching to start a war with 🇨🇳by relying on 🇺🇸 power.
🔻 WS: Japan is a dying country. They will not make war against China, neither with nor without the US.

And the US knows damn well they can’t defeat China in a war for dominance in the western Pacific. The best they can hope for is a slow denouement of US power in the region.
🔻 BlueSky is better: Before ordering the attack on Pearl Harbor, Yamamoto Isoroku already knew 🇯🇵could not win against 🇺🇸—just like the current Takaichi Sanae Cabinet. They know the outcome, yet still seek to stir up hatred toward 🇨🇳 among Japan’s far-right and populists and push for a war with 🇨🇳
🔻 EvaG: Not too long ago NATO sent Ukraine to war with Russia even knowing from the very start Ukraine will not prevail. So there’s precedent to ukrainise Japan
🔻 Dillon Green: When was the last time Chinese young men faced live war conditions? There is a difference between a disciplined parade march and fearing for one’s life.
🔻 WS: No current US soldier, sailor, or pilot, of any age or rank, has ANY experience whatosever with high-intensity peer-adversary industrial-scale warfare. They have never once had to face serious concentrated firepower.

      Droning wedding parties doesn’t count.
[And we know what droning wedding parties and innocents do to the testicles, as we see in zionazi “army”]
🔻 Thundaga: this isn’t how a “war” against china is gonna go. there’s not gonna be a direct head-on war between US and China. that’s hollywood thinking. it’s gonna be a ukraine style war. bog china down with proxies. Russia is still fighting such a war near 4 years now, still hasn’t won that war.
🔻 WS: There are no proxies in east Asia who will fight China.

And you are clearly misinformed as to what has taken place in Ukraine over the past four years.
🔻 Giuseppe Meazza: Many people were rightly convinced that German peasants had no interest in fighting a war against French peasants in 1914, and yet…
🔻 WS: The total fertility rate in Europe in 1914 was between 4 – 5 children per woman — 2x replacement level. Now it is under 1.5, well below replacement level.
🔻 Giuseppe Meazza: It is not rational to make rational arguments about decisions made by crazy people at the top and the behavior of irrational masses.
🔻 OZ: If China fights their military wars anything like they fought the tariffs war, I think we’ll find out they have a several-fold multi-tiered response prepared for every scenario.
🔻 Basel3 is not a herb: Dont forget, the premise of all wars started by USA is that US soil will not be hit. China will surely send some missiles to major military installation and possibly the White House, to strike decision making centres

Let us see the unfolding piracy drama. One way to counter is to unleash Iran. Why not send just Iranian vessels to handle all the oil leaving Venezuela?? The Yanquis are already in a state of war with Iran. And Iran has easy means to immediately retaliate, as even greater volumes daily leave the Persian Gulf than leave VZ each month. Zugzwang against Chinese lifeblood, unless the Pirates escalate yet again… as in 404, this would be another proferred off-ramp, as unable to sustain and facing total defeat, which the demented are sure to refuse.. what games the civilizational-states play!

I repost this from yesterday, highly recommend! Patrick Wood’s been solid for so long. He identifies the Technofeudalism at heart of the Marmalade Mussolini Gang. Perhaps not incidentally, the fascists behind it began at Vicious Vicky and Jeffrey Sachs’s Columbia U, another Ivy League institution home to eugenics and other totalitarian horrors.

And look at this map! The American Technate map from way back identified the need to grab Greenland, Canaduh, Mexico, Panama, and now Venezuela. (PS — Panama was constituent part of Gran Columbia, ripped from VZ, Columbia, Ecuador, and parts of others such as Grenada). All this nonsense is of course not gonna happen, but it helps us understand the theory and delusion behind their ambition.

On the contrary, as remarked by Judge Nap, it is the reverse in clear motion — fracture into a semblance of Prof Panarin’s map, rather than a new colonialism of the Western Hemisphere.

NB. ~26min, see Yarvin’s solution to the unemployable hundreds of millions of hobos of this era, iow, genocide without overt mass murder.. does this begin to extend the thought of Uncle Schwab et al @ the WEF? “You will have nothing, and be happy” — by becoming “virtualized”. This means permanent solitary confinement, glued to their screens and cheap internet, the chosen mode of euthanasia. Here, I do think Japan and SK were the live experiments for these crimes. In Japan, where the society was most atomized, the sign the solitary elder or adult had died some time ago inside their virtual labyrinth was the smell wafting in the hallway to neighbors. And COVID provided another live experiment, of how to handle large amounts of bodies kept indoors in relative quiet, and outside the view of the streets and cameras.

      • Universal Basic Income (UBI) will meet your needs
      • Synthetic food is better for you than real food (and will weaken suitably, and sever permanently from farmers)
      • You should give up your energy to run humongous A.I. data centers (already becoming reality for those cursed to live near them and now unable to afford utilities..)

AI in the Garden is meant to be usable for the Technocrats only – to control, manage and/or wage wars of all kinds. That was the horrifying concluding season of WestWorld – the A.I. data banks finally came to rule the human rulers too, so inadequate and insecure and driven to cheat using reams of data, in order to maintain even the semblance of control. And that the solution to the end of satanic control was to blow up those data centers housing the ruling A.I…

“In this monumental artwork Satan proudly gazes upon the capital of the underworld a golden palace rising above a river of boiling lava while legions of demons march toward him awaiting his command

But the most unsettling part is that this apocalyptic vision wasn’t entirely fantasy The palace’s architecture closely resembles the British Parliament under construction at the time and the river of lava was inspired by the filthy disease-ridden Thames River of 19th-century London

In this video we dive into the hidden story behind one of the 19th century’s most mind-blowing paintings its literary roots in John Milton’s Paradise Lost its dark reflection of Victorian London its symbolic weight and why it still feels so relevant today”

“On December 8, 1991, the so-called Belovezha Agreements were signed. The USSR formally ceased to exist.”

Very interesting parallels between the USSR and the Syria of “Al Assad” (formally the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party): both were liquidated on December 8! These two are in many respects the two largest obstacles to Pax Judaica. Syria physically since she’s at heart of Greater Syria, with Damascus the prize and oldest continuously inhabited city, and chief land obstacles to expansion; Syria is also the site where Armageddon detonates in multiple eschatologies, and Damascus is soon thereafter the site of the Second Coming, and Lod, Greater Syria (Palestine) where the Moshiach will be caught and slain. Russia is the nemesis of the western anti-civilization that bore Pax Barbaria and is her chief sustainer; she will bury the Last Satanic Empire for good. Also given the crimes, and most great ones to come the zionazis will cast at her, Russia will also join Persia and arab survivors to storm the citadel of the AntiChrist. So may we say that former iterations of both those two tormented lands were crucified on December 8 is a Sign for those who comprehend?? Recall the rapid and miraculous rebirth of Russia soon after 1991.. Abdel Bari Atwan here sees similar stirrings already in Syria, prompting the hysterical bombing of the last hours by the Gang of Temple Mount Hegseth..

(see first 35 min) why are we not surprised? As the Anglo-Zionist base of Camp Bondsteel in the occupied Kosovo is at heart of drugs flows and arms and mercs into/outta Europe, their other base in Constanta, Romania was linked to top child trafficking in Europe, only behind Perfide? That was, before 404 in 2014.. iirc, with fall of commie block in 1991, Russia was also savaged through vacuuming of children. Ritter spoke of abominations he saw (and may have participated in) in Budapest right after Hungary “opened up” to the Garden. Czechoslovakia started to rival California as the porn industry capital of the Garden. And so on. Romania additionally is linked to brothel rings on Yanqui military bases protected by SOFAs, which may or may not include Erikkka and her kids.. Now, Romania has many occult sourcing. Prince now King Charles the Turd once spoke of having Romanian blood (Transylvanian vampire lineage, lol?). Romania itself is an anomaly in the Balkans – ethnically, linguistically, culturally, thought to be an outpost of ancient Rome that survived its fall. Ovid was exiled in Constanta, Romania, during the First Coming. And the coastal city of Constanta is right now the closest major NATO port to Odessa and Crimea, and for sure the criminal nazis were building it up towards this Last Drang, and offering more infantile sacrifice to their demonlords in “the traditional practice”, just like Gaza
NB. Constanta is named after Emperor Constantine’s sister. So this child sacrifice ritual masked as “foreign adoption” appears also a blow targetted against Orthodoxy, which most Romanians are, and located just across the Black Sea from the ancient home of Christendom in Constantinople. A mirror city, the way the child sacrifice is also mirrored in Gaza against their other main monotheistic antagonist. There are no coincidences and nuthin new under the sun by the acolytes of Moloch. This btw is explicitly shown in iPet Goat 2, as the Moshiach weaves his way through desolation – the collapse of both church spire and mosque minaret in his wake, indicated the target of the spiritual war underway. But western christians, like salafis, are deaf, dumb, and blind, in thrall to their worst enemies.

BTW, the Phoenician Sea Peoples, the moloch-bull worshippers, at heart of the last major Reset circa 1177 BC, and who spread outward from Tyre throughout the mare nostrum, including minotaur worship in Crete, also were in the Black Sea. Constanta, and Crimea would have been natural harbors. You could say, as with ancient Khazaria, they return to the old stomping grounds and the old rites there through Erika’s Angels and Gaza. Whatever they may be, like primordial black goo, these shadow people are the abomination at heart of the 5,000-year-old paradigm, passed down like a baton, empire to empire..

good point. This is an excellent historical reference by Amb Freemen, who speaks Chinese, was Nixon’s translator with Mao, and knows the bitter history between China and Japan.
The first half is on piracy, Europe and imploding USA.
In the second half, he raises two points (among many good ones) : (1) the Chinese are still enraged beyond belief at the utter barbarity they endured at hands of the Japanese. Like the Russians at German and western Drangs.. (2) The same unrepentant families behind that barbarity are STILL in charge in Japan, carefully preserved by the Anglo-Americans for just such a rainy day.

🔻 wrex509: An act of war? Against who? It was an unflagged vessel and had no affiliation with a nation.
🔻 WS: You are ignorant of the topic at hand.

Flags of convenience do not confer upon a ship a “nationality”, nor do they have any relationship to the ownership of the ship, nor to the ownership of the cargo.

Nor does UNCLOS authorize the seizure of a ship without an FOC.

🔻 WS: You’re still dissembling, Sal. Even the title of the section “Right of Visit” witnesses against you.

It DOES NOT authorize the seizure of a ship. It only authorizes a “VISIT” to the ship.

I cannot believe you are continuing to assert this falsehood.
🔻 Happy Sal: Will, as I have said now repeatedly, SKIPPER was a stateless ship, so therefore the U.S., along with any other nation had the right to visit (i.e. board) the ship.

The visit was not to deliver a Christmas fruit cake, but to ascertain the legal position of the ship, i.e. registry, insurance (which it did not have) and inspections under classification societies and IMO conventions.

Concurrently, there was a US federal arrest warrant for the ship. As such, once the ship was determined to be stateless, the U.S. ordered the ship and directed it to US waters where it will be adjucticated in a federal court – literally the opposite of piracy.

All SKIPPER needed was to be registered in a country and that would have protected the ship, assuming the registry did not give the U.S. authority to board it.
🔻 WS: Non sequitur. The Right to Visit is not under discussion. The right to SEIZE the ship is the question.
🔻 Happy Sal: The seizure will be adjusted in Federal Court.

It may prove to be erroneous, or it may be legal, that is what the Federal judge will determine.

Admiralty Law had been operating like this for centuries.
[“erroneous” – never illegal, or piracy.. “One Law for thee, One Law for me..” Until the means evaporate. And they’re evaporating]
🔻 WS: Yet another non sequitur.

You assert that UNCLOS 110(d) authorized the seizure of the ship. THIS IS FALSE.

The ship was illegally seized. US law has ZERO jurisdiction over a ship seized in international waters.

I am astounded that you continue to defend these falsehoods.
🔻 Happy Sal: So when Iran seized the Marshall Island-flagged Talara last month in international water and stole its cargo, is that illegal?
[LOL. Unbelievable. We’re talkin about the Pirates of the Caribbean, the Shining City on the Hill, Those who see Farther as they Stand Taller. Remember? Not some untermenschen oceans away… Sal is a metaphor for an entire paradigm, as the lies stink to heaven high, and all unravels]
🔻 WS: This is both a non sequitur and an evasion.

I fully acknowledge that any nation can seize a ship of any other nation — if it has the power to do so.

But it is not authorized by UNCLOS, so don’t pretend that is.
🔻 Happy Sal: You exactly right in the case of Iran that they lacked the legal standing to seize Talara as it was a properly registered ship.

      However, SKIPPER, was not.

Hey, as much as I enjoy this banter, you are entitled to your opinion and you are not going to change.

Hopefully people reading this came away a little more informed.
[he keeps adding cute “Happy Hollidays” cartoons of reindeer with candles and glowing balls in their antlers, and other crap, which I omit to save our already wasted time]
🔻 cognitivedissonanceeverywhere: Yes they did. They were informed the US engages in piracy and that is now its foreign policy. What Iran felt it had to do in kind to this is a strawman.
🔻 Pirate Sal: I think you need to look up piracy as the ship that does not have a flag to fly, is usually the pirate.
🔻 WS: This is such a weak argument Sal. I’m embarrassed for you.

The Skipper is privately owned ship (with possible Russian connections) that was carrying Venezuelan crude to customers in west Asia.

It is commercial trade in the context of siege warfare. But it’s NOT “piracy”.
🔻 Pirate Sal: Possible Russian connections? 🤣🤣🤣

You are making the point here.

The ship lacks documentation and therefore is stateless.

You do realize, it if it had taken time to register the ship anywhere, I would be arguing against the US actions as they violate the Law of the Sea.
🔻 Intelschizo: Russian connections??? The vessel was connected to IRGC through a litany shell companies owned by a Ukrainian living in Switzerland whose business partners are a bunch of Iranians.
[this is the “seven ways from Sunday” cavalry coming now to Sorry Sal’s rescue. A most apt handle too.]
🔻 WS: There have been some claims that Viktor Sergiyovich Artemov, the alleged owner of the Skipper, also has connections to the so-called Russian “shadow fleet”.

I acknowledge his connections to the IRGC.

UNCLOS still does not authorize the seizing of the Skipper.
      🔻 Intelschizo: Literally does. |link|
🔻 WS: This is irrelevant. If you had been paying attention, you would already know that.

The question is whether or not UNCLOS authorizes the seizure of unflagged ships. IT DOES NOT.
[God Bless Will. I bet police-doped bloodhounds experiencing drug withdrawal pains are less persistent..]
🔻 Intelschizo: It’s not irrelevant literally addresses both if the vessel had been properly registered and flagged and if the vessel was not registered, therefore not flagged. Saying that it’s wrong without actually providing anything in the language isn’t making your point. You keep screaming but the title of the chapter okay. And what does the text of the chapter in question say oh it says that you can do this.
🔻 WS: UNCLOS absolutely DOES NOT authorize the seizing of ships for any question of registration or flagging or insurance.

It authorizes nothing more than a “VISIT”.

If you believe otherwise, feel free to cite the relevant portions.

But I know you cannot, because they do not exist.
      🔻 Intelschizo: It literally does

A stateless vessel is one not registered under the flag of any state as required by UNCLOS Article 91. It is well-accepted that stateless vessels are considered international pariahs and are open to law enforcement measures by all states to a greater degree than are flagged vessels.

Stateless vessels lose the protection normally afforded by flag state jurisdiction and become subject to the jurisdiction of any state that encounters them on the high seas.

Accordingly, under Article 110(1)(d) of UNCLOS, a warship may approach and board a vessel if there are reasonable grounds for suspecting it is without nationality.
However, the right to board and inspect a stateless vessel does not automatically confer the right to use force against it or its crew; rather, the convention focuses on the rights of approach, boarding, and inspection, with enforcement actions typically involving detention and delivery to appropriate authorities for prosecution as applicable.

Oh, and would you look at that? That’s exactly what we did. We boarded the vessel inspected. The vessel found that it was stateless and non-compliant and seized the vessel and is being delivered to the United States for legal proceedings.
🔻 WS: I rest my case. UNCLOS DOES NOT authorize the seizure of a ship for questions of registration, flagging, or insurance.

It authorizes only a “VISIT” to the ship. It goes no further.

You are misrepresenting what it says.

      As I have already noted:

In the context of its definition of piracy, the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (to which the United States is NOT even a signatory) explicitly excludes “politically motivated acts”, which are proscribed under the Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts Against the Safety of Maritime Navigation.

The 2005 Protocol to the SUA Convention reads, in part:

Among the unlawful acts covered by the SUA Convention in Article 3 are the seizure of ships by force … when the purpose of the act, by its nature or context, is to intimidate a population, or to compel a Government or an international organization to do or to abstain from any act.

In any case, the US can employ any pretext it likes to seize merchant ships on the open seas, but no other nation on earth will view it as anything but PIRACY. And, as such, it constitutes an Act of War, and will, sooner or later, evoke a reciprocal response from those against whom the unlawful acts have been committed, and those who choose to join with them to oppose such piracy.
🔻 Intelschizo: An act of war against who it’s a stateless vessel. But you know what, let’s say the registration’s valid okay, so it was an act of war against Guyana because that’s who the victim would be if it was properly flagged. Because the rules state that the use of force on a flagged vessel is a act of aggression against the flag state which is why there’s a thing called flag state consent to allow such actions to avoid a act of aggression.
🔻 WS: It is an act of war against both Venezuela and whatever country or countries were the intended recipients of the cargo.

UNCLOS DOES NOT authorize the seizure of ships for questions of registration, flagging, or insurance.

      Period. End of story.
🔻 Intelschizo: It’s not an act of war against Cuba and Venezuela. The rules on this are quite clear. The use of force AKA seizure of the ship would be considered a act of force against the flag state not the recipient, not the shipper, the flag on which the vessel is registered under. In this case, if the paperwork had been done correctly would be Guyana.

      Since the Skipper was stateless
      1. There is no violated state.
      2. There is no unlawful use of force.
      3. There is no basis for a “war” claim. Even if Iran or Venezuela screams politically, they have no legal standing under UNCLOS.
      4. No UNCLOS or UN Charter violations.
[btw, the prophets & scripture described Liars of this scale. On Judgment Day, their mouths will be sealed. Their own hands, legs and other organs will testify against them]
      🔻 WS: Non sequitur.

I have seen no evidence the ship ever went to Cuba, although it does not matter if it did. It was carrying Venezuelan crude, apparently destined for Iran.

It was not registered or flagged or insured according to US imperial edicts. But UNCLOS DOES NOT authorize the seizing of the ship for these reasons.

The seizing of the ship was an act of piracy, and will be considered as such by every nation not subservient to the US empire.
🔻 Intelschizo: It wasn’t going to Iran. It had blended Iranian crude off the coast of Jose terminal like it is done for years.
🔻 WS: Perhaps you are correct on this point. I will not dispute it. But it is irrelevant to my rather narrow argument:

UNCLOS DOES NOT AUTHORIZE THE SEIZING OF A SHIP FOR QUESTIONS OF REGISTRATION, FLAGGING, OR INSURANCE.

Those arguing otherwise are 100% wrong.
🔻 Intelschizo: This is coming from a person who just spent nearly 2 weeks talking about how the boat strike on September 2nd was illegal because it was and I went into great detail on how that was the case, the seizure of the Skipper is completely legal.
🔻 WS: You don’t know what you’re talking about.

Cite the language from UNCLOS that authorizes the seizure of a ship on the basis of unrecognized registration, flagging, or insurance.

I’ll be waiting right here …
🔻 Intelschizo: You haven’t cited any language yourself. Do you just keep screaming the title of article 110 is called right to board, therefore the entire rest of the verbiage is nullified. Also going to ignore legal precedence and I’m going to ignore the rest of the treaty that literally spells out that stateless vessels are not provided the protection of flagged vessels. And would you look at that? Legal proceedings can be commenced against stateless vessels of the jurisdiction of the warship that is conducting the boarding.
🔻 WS: I have indeed cited the relevant language. You simply have not been paying attention.

THERE IS NO LANGUAGE IN UNCLOS THAT AUTHORIZES THE SEIZING OF SHIPS FOR ANY QUESTIONS OF REGISTRATION, FLAGGING, OR INSURANCE.

All you guys who are arguing otherwise are either misinformed or outright lying.
🔻 Intelschizo: What do you think? The whole right to board and inspect the vessel is it’s literally to say give me your license and registration sir. Oh, while I’m at it, I’m going to check your cargo hold. Oh what’s this? Your paperwork is expired. It’s fraudulent and we found that your cargo manifest is not correlate to what we see in your holds. You’re under arrest
🔻 WS: There is no language in UNCLOS authorizing seizure of the ship, or arresting the crew. It does not exist. You are either misinformed or outright lying if you claim otherwise.
🔻 Sorry Sal: What rights do a stateless ship have in international waters?

If you are saying that the US cannot seize SKIPPER, what laws were broken by the U.S.?

I’ll be decorating my tree in the meantime.
🔻 WS: You are being deliberately obtuse now.

The only issue under discussion is the incontrovertible fact that UNCLOS DOES NOT authorize ANY nation, including the US, to seize a ship on the basis of registration, flagging, or insurance.
🔻 Sorry Sal: UNCLOS is the Law of the Sea accepted by 169 nations and the EU.

Are you saying that they all agree that stateless ships can freely sail the world’s oceans and there is no provision by which they can be boarded and arrested.

Sounds like you are in favor of an outlaw ocean.
🔻 WS: My favor is irrelevant.

In any case, IT IS AN OUTLAW OCEAN. That is beyond dispute.

And the United States of America is, and has been for many decades, the single greatest outlaw.
🔻 Despondent Sal: Will, I am not going to change your opinion and I am not changing mine.
🔻 WS: Mine is not an opinion. It is an objective fact.

And you, sadly, have devolved into a shameless #EmpirePropagandist, willing to voluntarily shill for a rapidly declining predatory empire.

The Founding Fathers would be aghast at what has happened to their project.
🔻 Intelschizo: The founders seized over 2,000 British ships during the revolutionary war
🔻 WS: Is the US currently at war?

Because, of course, war alters all the provisions of UNCLOS when it comes to seizing ships.
🔻 Ahistorical Sal: They also were guilty of smuggling in violation of Britain’s mercantilism rules (i.e. John Hancock) and attacking and seizing ships like Gaspee in 1772.
🔻 WS: There was no United States of America in 1772.
🔻 V*: My question is how can USA use a Law (Act 110 of UNCLO) that they neither have ratified nor subscribed to?

That’s a bit rich isn’t it? I’ll waive around a warrant citing this law when it’s convenient for me, but outright reject the entire legal body at all other times. 🤷🏼‍♀️
🔻 WS: “International law” is little more than a rhetorical device.
🔻 Gunny: Hoist the Colors!!!! |link|
[God preserve Gunny. The most direct! Cuts through all the pretense. Like the Elizabethan era…]
🔻 George Pereira (Master of vessels retired): Treaties that are not ratified can be enforced in the countries that accept them. The USA can bring the ship to justice in any of those countries. However, there is no need to do that because of the warrant. The ship is a civil liability.
🔻 WS: Please try to keep up. UNCLOS absolutely DOES NOT authorize the seizing of ships for unrecognized registration, flagging, or insurance.
🔻 Modsognir: Sal has always been a little US supremacist.
🔻 WS: That is not a sin, per se. What IS a sin is his deliberate deception of his audience, and his pretentions to imagined authority.

And no matter how many times he boldly asserts the contrary, UNCLOS still does NOT authorize the seizure of “unflagged” ships in international waters.
🔻 Modsognir: It’s what causes him to behave the way he does 🤷

Won’t complain too much though, it also causes him to poison any efforts of the US to actually try and build ships for real.
🔻 occasional ignoramus: Court order for the warrant, filed under seal, to be released with redactions
“On November 26, 2025, the Court authorized the government’s application to seize the MT Skipper in international waters pursuant to established legal authority.” |link|
🔻 WS: US law has no legal jurisdiction over ships on the high seas.

That said, they may assert whatever right they can, for as long as they can. But it may not be much longer.

“International law” is a meaningless rhetorical device.
[you bet. Especially when demonspawn savages sin qua non behind Gaza and Novorossiya and every holocaust since the Descent of Men presume themselves the rightful Supermensch to set the standards and to enforce them. Thankfully, this shall not stand for much longer]
🔻 Bikkin: Mr Schryver, apparently you’re arguing with a shill here.
UNCLOS at best gives the right to board the ship.
Unilateral USAn sanctions, federal court orders etc. are IRRELEVANT on the high seas.
SKIPPER may have been commandeered lawfully according to USAn law ONLY.
🔻 Oof: The Law of the Jungle is the higher authority here. Might makes right.
🔻 He was a bushranger driven by injustice: International rules based order is a veneer, wallpaper, and facade over the exercise of power by one country against its enemy’s.
🔻 Brandon Brown: The seizure warrant was authorized pursuant to 18 U.S.C. §§ 981, 982, 2332b(g)(5), and 2339B(a)(1), which authorizes the seizure of “[a]ll assets, foreign or domestic … of any individual, entity, or organization engaged in planning or perpetrating any Federal crime of terrorism (as defined in 18 U.S.C. § 2332b(g)(5)) against the United States, citizens or residents of the United States, or their property, and all assets, foreign or domestic, affording any person a source of influence over any such entity or organization.”
🔻 WS: A false pretext, of course. And irrelevant to the discussion of whether or not UNCLOS authorizes the seizure of ships on the high seas. IT DOES NOT.
🔻 __ROTE__: It’s the narco-terrorism cover story, conflated with classic neoliberalism- anyone who trades cheap energy for food or medical supplies must be a terrorist threat to NY brokers and Fed banksters.
🔻 cognitivedissonanceeverywhere: He’s just desperately making any shit up he can think of, like this administration. The ‘rules based order’ in action.
🔻 Sulking Sal: Did I make up UNCLOS and the arrest warrant issued by a federal court against a stateless ship?
🔻 WS: No, you asserted an UNCLOS authority that DOES NOT EXIST.

A warrant issued by a US court is irrelevant. US jurisdiction in this case is de facto, not de jure.

The US has seized the ship.

They may confiscate both ship and cargo.

But none of that has anything to do with UNCLOS.
🔻 Runaway Warming: Was this tanker really stateless? Or is that another one of sals tricks?
🔻 WS: All ships flying “flags of convenience” are as “stateless” as the Skipper.

      It’s all a big charade.

The majority of commercial shipping is flagged in Panama, Liberia, and the Marshall Islands.
🔻 Brihard: Worth noting that the US has neither signed nor ratified UNCLOS, so it’s tough to argue that they can explicitly rely on its authority. Now, US could fairy argue that those parts of UNCLOS are also recognized & binding customary international law- do you know if they’re done so?
🔻 Maggie Leber: Neither has Venezuela.
🔻 Brihard: Yes but given that it wasn’t their ship or in their waters that’s immaterial. The onus is on the seizing person to articulate a legal grounds to board, inspect, and seize. I’m trying to understand what that legal authority is.
🔻 WS: I do not dispute that the US, according to UNCLOS 110, was permitted to “VISIT” the ship.

But UNCLOS absolutely, positively, DOES NOT authorize the seizure of a ship for any questions of registration, flagging, or insurance. Those arguing otherwise are just plain wrong.

🔻 WS: I never suggested it violated US law. My arguments are narrow:

      1) UNCLOS does not authorize seizure of unflagged ships;

      2) US law has no jurisdiction over commercial ships in international waters.

This is purely a case of “might makes right”. It is extralegal.

Uhm, I know a little about UNCLOS.  In fact, I can fly any flag I want, even a fun flag or the Jolly Roger.  Insurance is not demanded except in the coastal waters of certain countries to indemnify the country’s infrastructure itself from damage if you cause damage with your boat.

The US has not signed or ratified UNCLOS, so that whole argument about UNCLOS is not relevant and it is a bunch of US’ers that wanna sound clever.  UNCLOS is a difficult legislation.

Under UNCLOS, or not under UNCLOS, the US stole or pirated that vessel and its cargo.  Any sanctions do not give legal protection, as US sanctions are illegal to start with – unilateral coercive measures are unlawful, anyway you cut it, and this is easier to even talk about than the very difficult UNCLOS legislation.  That was international waters, and US laws do not apply because the US does not own those waters.  It was outright piracy on the high sea.  The proverbial Law of Tonnage is the only one that really works, and in this case, the US had more Tonnage (i.e., the one with the greater size or power wins).  In reality, those sailors could have shot the pirates who rappelled down to their vessel.  But sailors are not soldiers, and it would be stupid to do so.  In the seas off the West Coast of Africa, every vessel that is seized there is a result of piracy.

A further x post by Schneider encapsulated the issue though.  “My paramount point in relation to the discussion below is that we are now speeding towards a kinetic war involving seaborne commercial shipping. This is a direct result of the siege warfare (sanctions, etc.) already inaugurated by the empire and its dutiful vassals.”

What really bothers me is making Fentanyl a weapon of mass destruction.  The US hid the destruction of a whole country with weapons of mass destruction canard.  It makes me uncomfortable to think what they want to do with that this time.  It is not innocent.

France has claimed sovereignty over them since 1929, while Vanuatu is demanding them with the support of Kanak independence activists and, more discreetly, China.

The possible cession is described as a “major symbolic turning point”, with some warning of the geopolitical risks of such a precedent.

According to pro-French experts, ceding these islands would create a risky territorial precedent for France, undermining its strategic presence in the Pacific and fuelling other disputes, particularly in New Caledonia and Mayotte.

200 Tomahawk missiles would prove woefully inadequate to the task — even IF they could be ground-launched in huge salvos like a US Navy missile submarine could deliver.

People have already forgotten that the British and French provided over 500 air-launched Storm Shadow / SCALP cruise missiles to Ukraine.

Although not as long-ranged as the older, slower Tomahawk, the Storm Shadow is a much more capable and “stealthy” missile.

And yet the Russians started off shooting down the majority of them, and, within a matter of months, they were shooting down or defeating by EW well over 90% of them.

In many of the later salvos of 6 – 12 missiles, the Russians were defeating 100% of them.

The utter futility of the Storm Shadow (and ATACMS) has been candidly acknowledged by US/NATO sources.

The Tomahawk works really well against adversaries who have no defense against them. But Russia absolutely can and will defeat them.

Maybe not all of them all of the time, but they will soon defeat most of them most of the time, and before long, they will defeat all of them most of the time.

OPEC+ is increasing production, but prices are not responding. China has created a huge commercial oil reserve. India is trying to anchor Russian oil supplies with long-term contracts. 🔻 WS: Yeah, that was a dead giveaway, too. In any case, we will see increasingly more of this sort of thing. I have already gotten to the point where I can detect the tell-tale stylistic elements immediately. But stylized rhetoric cannot compensate for historical ignorance.
🔻 WS: There is no indication whatsoever of reflection. When provoked (and it didn’t require much), it dove instantly into lengthy adversarial rebuttal mode, heaped high with immaterial rhetorical flourishes like so much detritus in a dry wash after a flash flood. unbelievable. I told you to pay attention to headlines for satanic mockery. “88”, in homage to the trumpet destroyer of the Moshiach! Even fanatical observation of ritual numerology during civilizational collapse.

Also another 88 obliquely: 3+5=8. They mention giving incentives of $35,000 (first 8), and moving 35,000 jobs by decade end (second 8, for another 88). Absolute scum, mocking folks as they pull them, like Building 7. And of course lying too, as there will be NO more jobs whatsoever by decade end.

Please do not get mired in the unending stream of BS, like that A.I. trying to browbeat Will Schryver into submission. Focus on the numbers and understanding that 99.9999999999% is gaslighting at this point, like the US, Europe and UkroNazis “negotiating” solely among themselves on terms unacceptable to Russians, or the sane victors of any war.

Pure narrative filler. There is no off ramp. There are no reverse gears. There is not the slightest possibility of return to sanity, for they ceased to be sane. Just possessed madmen willing evil to drown the Cosmos in blood. They’re gonna need to be fumigated and cleansed with platforms carrying and launching the heat of the sun…

      💠 @Sputnik Africa:
⭕ 🇻🇪 Venezuela slams Trump’s naval oil blockade as violation of international law

Venezuela has expressed outrage at US President Donald Trump’s announcement of a naval oil blockade “with the aim of stealing the riches” that belong to the republic.

Any attempts by the US to block oil tankers entering or leaving Venezuela constitute a violation of international law, stated Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez.

💬 “Venezuela, in full exercise of international law, our Constitution, and the laws of the Republic, reaffirms its sovereignty over all its natural wealth, as well as its right to freedom of navigation and free trade,” the government said in a communiqué.

The authorities reiterated that the true intention of the American leader “has always been to appropriate the country’s oil, land, and mineral resources through large-scale campaigns of lies and manipulation.”

👉 Venezuela vowed to act in strict accordance with the UN Charter, “fully exercising its freedom, jurisdiction, and sovereignty in the face of these belligerent threats.”

On Tuesday, Venezuela’s government filed a formal complaint with the UN Security Council, accusing the United States of a “serious act involving the use of force, kidnapping, and piracy” in international waters in the Caribbean.

The complaint was submitted by Venezuela’s permanent representative to the UN, Samuel Moncada.

      💠 @Intel Slava Z:
⭕ 🇺🇸🇻🇪The US is imposing a blockade (!) on oil tankers subject to sanctions that are heading to Venezuela or leaving its waters, – Trump.
⭕ 🇺🇸🇻🇪What “stolen” oil is Trump talking about?

On February 28, 2007, Hugo Chavez, the then-president of Venezuela, signed a law on the nationalization of oil fields.

All foreign companies operating in the country were offered to join joint ventures, in which at least 60% of the shares would belong to the state-owned company PDVSA.

The presidential decree affected American companies Chevron Corp., ConocoPhillips, Exxon Mobil Corp., British BP, French Total SA, and Norwegian Statoil ASA, which lost control over oil fields being developed in the Orinoco River basin.

At that time, foreign investors retained some autonomy only in the oil fields of the Orinoco oil belt, where they had played a leading role before the law was signed. In the 1990s, the Venezuelan government allowed foreign players into Orinoco because the fields there were considered unpromising and required large capital investments.

However, gradually, leading foreign companies increased oil production in Orinoco to 600 thousand barrels per day. From the very beginning, foreign players carried out exploration, production, and costly primary processing of crude oil in the Orinoco fields jointly with PDVSA.

According to some data, the amount of investments of the aforementioned companies in the subsequently nationalized assets amounted to at least 17 billion dollars.

Some of the claims of foreign oil companies were later satisfied by the Venezuelan authorities through direct monetary compensation.

But not all of them, and the issue is still not fully resolved: some firms are still demanding compensation and have cases in foreign arbitration bodies.
⭕️ 🇺🇦🇷🇺❗️15 countries have committed to assist Kiev financially and with weapons, announced the head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Shmygal:

      • 📍Germany will transfer €11.5 billion (1.74 trillion rubles) in 2026 for military support;
      • 📍The UK will strengthen Ukraine’s air defense capabilities with £600 million (64.4 billion rubles) at the expense of Russia’s frozen assets, its own budget, and funds from partners;
      • 📍Canada will provide an additional 30 million Canadian dollars (1.7 billion rubles) for drones;
      • 📍The Netherlands has pledged €700 million (65.4 billion rubles) for UAVs;
      • 📍Montenegro, Denmark, and New Zealand will make contributions to PURL – an initiative that allows NATO allies to purchase weapons for Kiev from US stocks;
      • 📍Estonia will contribute €9 million (841.2 million rubles) to the IT coalition;
      • 📍Lithuania will allocate more than €200 million (18.6 billion rubles) in 2026 for military support to the country, and Latvia will continue to provide assistance at a level of no less than 0.25% of GDP – €110 million (10.2 billion rubles);
      • 📍Luxembourg will transfer €100 million (9.3 billion rubles), as well as $15 million (1.2 billion) as part of PURL;
      • 📍Norway has pledged about $7 billion (556.8 billion rubles) in total military aid;
      • 📍Portugal – €10 million (934.7 million rubles) for UAVs;
      • 📍Poland will supply 155-mm shells, and the Czech Republic will finance the delivery of 760,000 artillery shells, writes RT.

      💠 @ejmalrai:
⭕ Trump escalates toward a naval blockade, a measure traditionally treated as an act of war under international law and difficult to reconcile with Article 2(4) of the UN Charter, in an effort to coerce regime change in Venezuela. Venezuela’s enduring vulnerability lies in its vast oil reserves and its proximity to the United States, whose current president has previously defended the theft of foreign oil resources, from Syria to Venezuela, under the language of sanctions and security.

He has announced what he called a “total and complete” blockade of all sanctioned oil tankers entering or leaving Venezuela, accusing the elected President Nicolás Maduro of terrorism, drug smuggling, human trafficking, and theft of US assets, and designating it a foreign terrorist organisation.

Self-declared “Peace president”, Trump claimed Venezuela was now “completely surrounded” by a growing US naval armada, a move that follows the recent piracy by seizing an oil tanker off Venezuela’s coast and new sanctions imposed on additional ships, businesses, and members of Maduro’s family

⭕ 📝How German Companies Help in Strikes on Crimea📝

Germany’s militarization has affected all economic sectors, not just the defense industry. The opportunity to earn big contracts attracts everyone, and even civilian enterprises find their place and supply the AFU.

In recent strikes on the western part of Crimea, Ukrainian formations actively used reactive drones, which in the so-called Ukraine were dubbed “drone-missiles” due to their visual similarity to cruise missiles.

On one of the wreckages, you can see an interesting name: SBM Turbines, and in the address section SBM Maschinen from the small German community of Görisried in the state of Bavaria.

      🔻What is this company?

      • SBM Maschinen GmbH or SBM Group, or SBM Development GmbH – a group of companies legally located in Görisried. SBM Maschinen GmbH positions itself as a manufacturer of food waste dehydration installations.
      • The company develops mobile installations for eco-friendly processing of food residues for both domestic and commercial use. Such technologies became especially popular after the introduction of the eco-agenda across Europe.
      • 🖍It would seem, what is the connection between plastic bottle shredders and military production? Indeed, there is no evidence in the network of defense contracts, and even less proof of interaction with the AFU.

🔻So how does SBM Maschinen produce jet engines for the AFU?

      • As it turned out, the company has a subsidiary called Rotortec. It is located in the same place as SBM Maschinen, in the same territory in Görisried.
      • Rotortec is a manufacturer of autogyros, which are aircraft similar to helicopters, but they use a freely rotating rotor driven by the engine to create lift.
      • Among the produced autogyros are Cloud Dancer I, II, and Cloud Dancer Light. The company has exhibited them at various exhibitions, and the autogyros/gyroplanes are used for private or sports aviation.
      • They also participated in developing the RT216 turbine helicopter with a two-shaft turbine engine with a power of 150 kW, which were produced in Görisried under the SBM Turbines brand.

🚩It turns out that the waste management company has a subsidiary specializing in the development and production of small gas turbine engines. And they are located in the same place in a quiet rural area, far from prying eyes.

🏳️The scheme of civilian companies profiting from military contracts is nothing new: we have been seeing this especially often in recent months, with one commercial enterprise after another suddenly starting to work in the interests of the military-industrial complex.

❗️The German company SBM Maschinen had successfully avoided public attention. Not a single mention of their work for the Ukrainian military-industrial complex could be found online—until now.

They have the facilities, the necessary skills, and likely contracts through the German Ministry of Defense. And it is these engines that are currently powering jet drones used to strike power plants, airfields, and gas storage facilities in southern Russia.

Ruski and Chinese tankers can be made into naval auxiliary ships. Not smart to shoot at. They can also be armed as naval auxiliary. I am wondering about mines. And torpedoes. Venezuela (for example) harbors may be mined. At sea submarine launched torpedoes can hit in the propeller area…ship hit that way may not sink. And mines/torpedoes muddy the identity of the aggressor. First, ahbetcha, the nazis try the helicopter gag with marines or seals or whatever the SS units are called…and the chopper goes down in flames. imho burning even one chopper full of commandos will change the nazi tactic. I note too, that in the CONUS many persons who may not be happy work in the refineries, and on the railroads, and so forth…an increase in the “industrial accident rate” ought to be expected. Ahbetcha it’d be smart to build minesweepers.

Part of the process may be necessity due to this factor alone – to save what remains of dying shale oil – it was below $60, uneconomic. The Pirates need to at least extract the remaining five years or so.. On December 12, 2025, the Wall Street Journal announced that U.S. special forces boarded a ship in the Indian Ocean last month and seized military-related items assessed as moving from China to Iran. U.S. officials described the action as a maritime interdiction aimed at slowing Iran’s attempts to rebuild parts of its missile arsenal after a 12-day conflict in June 2025. The boarding took place several hundred miles off Sri Lanka, the cargo was removed, and the vessel was allowed to continue, while the ship’s name and ownership were not disclosed.

Valuable lessons from yesteryear for what is being done to the Yanks today.. Echoes in History for Pirates in the Caribbean, and the shadow games of Banksters to better subjugate and steer the mad bulls of Empire

“The book “Pillaging the Empire: Piracy in the Americas” argues [Anglo-French-Dutch] piracy and financial manipulation were deliberate strategies to control Spain’s wealth and sovereignty” As then, so now, for another broke-ass wheezing Empire? Remember Bibi’s 1990 promise, being discharged, to treat the Yanquis as his Golden Calf, and to suck her dry, then chop her up. 💠 “Tensions between China and Japan continue to escalate, as the Tokyo sticks to its “Global NATO” policy. China’s Foreign Ministry announced on Dec. 15 that “countermeasures”—sanctions—have been imposed against the former Chief of the Joint Staff of Japan’s Self-Defense Forces Shigeru Iwasaki, for his official post as “political consultant” to the Taiwan separatist regime. As his appointment to the post had been announced, and denounced by China, last March, it can be assumed that the decision to impose countermeasures today are meant as another warning to others in Japan, that China will have zero-tolerance for violations of the one-China principle by treating Taiwan as a separate “country.”

The former head of Japan’s military is hardly a “political” advisor. According to Global Times, since he took his post in Taiwan, he had “attended a tabletop war simulation of so-called mainland’s military action against the Taiwan region.”

“We have protested to the Japanese side more than once and took countermeasures against Iwasaki,” Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Guo Jianko explained at his Dec. 15 briefing. “Rather than reflect on and correct his wrongdoings, Iwasaki went down the wrong path by colluding with `Taiwan independence’ separatist forces and making provocations. This amounts to a severe violation of the one-China principle and the spirit of the four political documents between China and Japan, a blatant interference in China’s internal affairs, and a grave infringement on China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

Venezuela? Temporary. The pressure will continue and the damage to Venezuela will continue.

Not carrying water for Tucker Carlson at all, but this was much wider than him. There was a meeting the previous evening to discuss this, and the congress discussed it all day long yesterday. There was one or two votes. One was a vote on whether Trump needs Congress to approve action on Venezuela, which was defeated by only two votes. This time it looks like Carlson only reported what he and many others were told.

The whole massive weapons tranche for Taiwan was approved by the congress and the senate so that must have been in the wings for some time. The evil continues.

💠 “America’s Weimar moment: What DoorDash culture says about economic decline” — When the future becomes unaffordable and saving money is pointless, a $30 poke bowl makes complete sense. young people in America have such dismal economic prospects that they spend more money than ever.
“They’re behaving like people living in a post-middle-class economy…where ownership is unattainable, savings are pointless, buying a home is impossible, and upward mobility is gone. So what happens? They shift to a present-maximization mindset. If the future is unaffordable anyway, why not buy the burrito now? Younger people are not reckless. They are rational inside a broken incentive system.”

Luke Gromen, one of today’s most incisive financial analysts, chimed in: “Watch the movie ‘Cabaret’ – the youth in Weimar Germany behaved similarly.”
Even Charles Schwab published a piece advising Gen Zers how to avoid doom spending,” defining it as “responding to a poor outlook on the future of your finances or the planet we live on by saying, ‘What’s the point of saving for the future?’”

Financial analyst Demetri Kofinas coined the term “financial nihilism,” to describe how individuals who, having lost faith in the real value of money and in the traditional ways of earning it, turn to various high-risk behaviors. “I’m Big Joe. 58. Long-haul trucker.

Been driving 18-wheelers for 34 years. Sleep in my cab. Eat at truck stops. Talk on CB radio to stay awake.

Lonely job. But someone’s gotta move America’s stuff.

Two years ago, I’m driving through Nebraska. 2 a.m. See a car pulled over. Hazards on.

      Woman standing outside. Looking scared.

I pulled over. She backed away when she saw me. I’m 6’4″, 280 pounds, covered in tattoos. I get it.

“Ma’am, I’m not stopping to hurt you. I’m stopping to help. What’s wrong?”

Her car died. Phone dead. She’d been there three hours. Nobody stopped.

      “Where you headed?”

“Hospital. Omaha. My daughter’s in emergency surgery. I have to get there.”

No hesitation. “Get in. I’ll take you.”

      “In your truck?”

      “Safest vehicle on this highway.”

      She hesitated. Then got in.

Drove her 60 miles out of my way. Got her there in time. She hugged me hard.

“Nobody stops anymore,” she cried. “Thank you for seeing me.”

Got back on the road. Couldn’t stop thinking about it.

Got on the CB. Told other truckers. “We see everything out here. We should do something.”

Started a code. “Code Angel” we call it. When truckers see someone broken down, stranded, in trouble, we stop. We help.

Word spread. Truckers across the country joined.

Last year, we helped 1,200 people. Dead batteries. Out of gas. Medical emergencies. Domestic violence victims escaping. Runaways needing safe transport to shelters.

We’ve got a network now. Truckers, CB radio, truck stops. Someone needs help? We mobilize.

Saved six lives last year. People broken down in dangerous spots. Diabetics in crisis. A kidnapping victim we spotted and reported.

      But here’s my favorite story.

Last month, I’m at a truck stop. Young kid approaches me. Maybe 19. Scared.

      “Are you Big Joe?”

      “Yeah.”

“You know how to ride in a truck?”

His eyes filled. “You’d help me?”

      “That’s what we do.”

I didn’t go to San Francisco. But I got him to a trucker who was. She took him the rest of the way.

      He made it. Safe.

Now there’s 4,000 truckers in Code Angel. We’ve got an app. Dispatchers. Resources.

News called us “Guardian Angels of the Highway.”

But we’re just truckers. Doing what’s right.

That woman in Nebraska? Her daughter survived surgery. She sends me Christmas cards every year.

The kid I helped? He’s in college now. Studying social work. Says he wants to help invisible people like truckers helped him.

I’m Big Joe. I drive a truck. Sleep in parking lots. Smell like diesel.

      But I learned something.

The loneliest roads are where people need help most. And the scariest-looking people are sometimes the ones who stop.

So tomorrow, if you break down, if you’re stranded, if you’re running from something bad,

Look for the trucks. We’re watching. We’re listening.

We might look rough. But we’ll get you home.

Because the highway doesn’t have to be lonely.

Not when 4,000 truckers refuse to drive past people in trouble.”

      .

Let this story reach more hearts….

you’re so welcome. I nearly teared up with Big Joe. I had a beloved cousin, very dear to me, who used to be a long-haul trucker, from eastern Canada all over the 51st state and CONUS. He spent so many hours inside his cabin, he acquired a PhD-level education through audio tapes and perseverance alone. Trucking is like being in solitary confinement in prison, or long-term prison overall. One goes mad, or rises to the divine, as did the Prophet Joseph and Malcolm X! it is like a lens focusing the soul, and what is important in this dimension. I spent a near decade also commuting heavily – commuter trains, then later cars; one learns to use all that time.. It is also very hazardous; This trucker cousin of mine was killed in a bizarre accident near your neck of the woods in B.C. iirc. And he was the safest driver imaginable, exhorting me to never exceed 120 km/hr (!) back in the day of unlimited speeds on the Eisenhower Interstate Highways of New England. Anyway, solitude removing the din of the mundane can be a blessing and opportunity if used the right way
