    I agree with Langston Hughes, it never was America for me. I have had sat in quiet disbelief over the years as family and friends have sold their soul to the Great Satan. There is a peculiar (to me) desire in this country to say that *despite* all the bad things, America has brought amazing good to the world. I don’t see it. At all. I think this idea is rooted in an attempt to whitewash colonizing and settler mentality.

      Yes Friend, what you say is true… Remarking that in a pirate operation there must be some support structures, shops and factories, shipyards, and mines and oil wells and legions of technical and scientific men, and schools for these… In that inner realm, blinded by myth and propaganda and indoctrination – there we may find a smattering of good hearted men and women, good works, honesty, art and literature of high quality. They are generally unaware that they are in fact disposable and slaves. Periodically they cause trouble for the criminals that rule and exploit them… Just now it seems that nazi Clown has begun, announced, yet another pogrom against those men, beginning with labeling anybody the ruling class objects to as “communists”. The round-up is, it seems, pending…. 😉 I suppose the label is convenient, if inaccurate…but it has foundation in rhetoric developed especially during the last 100 years…deportation, murder, etc…so it makes some sense. Not to belittle Lincoln’s prisons and the “suspension” of habeas corpus… As you wrote, iirc, the only war is class war… I agree!

        I am worried about the crackdown on “wrongthink”, no doubt about it. Communists, yes, but Elon Musk is also outright calling for the exile of any citizen who does not “love America”. Hoo boy! Is it “love America” or just plain “love the Epstein class”? Good grief.

    Yes, I was married to an American for many years. But he was not usual kind. We got to the US in 1993. I lasted about 13 years. And some years later, he marched out of the bedroom one morning and threatened to burn his passport – at that moment, before breakfast – before coffee. Right then!
