I thought I would restart an Africa thread with this interview with Aliko Dangote, who just opened the largest oil refinery in Africa.  He also supplies cement and fertilizer to Africa. He comments on the Africa Free Trade Agreement as well.

After canceling Russia and Belarus, and refusing to throw out the genocidaire zionists, FIFA now attempts a shameless underhanded cancelation of Niger! All these west-controlled international organizations dig their own graves deeper. Unbelievable. Consider the puerile behavior!!

NB – for those who do not know – FIFA is the governing body of international football, the largest most popular sporting event worldwide right now. There is tremendous prestige and soft-power tied to these events, culminating in a tournament cup every four years like the Olympics.

⭕ 🇳🇪 🇨🇩 “Niger has no responsibility in this affair“: A vice president of the Niger Football Federation on the withdrawal of the DR Congo from the match against his country
👉🏾 On Thursday, June 6, Congo was scheduled to host Niger on the third day of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. However, shortly before the match, the Congolese decided to withdraw from the game.  Their sports minister explained this move by the Nigeriens’ unfulfilled commitment to play in Brazzaville.
🔸️However, Issaka Adamou pointed out in an interview with Sputnik Africa that “it wasn’t really Niger that had to move the match; it was FIFA.”
🔸️”It is FIFA that schedules the FIFA match. The proof is that on June 1 alone, there was a change in FIFA officials. We wrote to all the parties to give the new composition of the match officials, specifying that the match is on June 6 at 5 pm in Kinshasa,” he explained.
🔸️In fact, it is the federation that has taken the decision not to change the venue of the match, pointed out the 3rd vice president of FENIFOOT ⚽️”As proof, the commissioner and the referees are in Kinshasa,” the official insisted.

South Africa, like India, saw major set backs in recent elections for their ruling party the ANC. Some parties to the left of ANC gained significant ground. The ANC is in discussions to form a coalition government with the right which was only last seen under Mandela. It is strange that they do not ally with parties to their left. They have two weeks to try to bridge this gap.

Here is a great article on the subject.

Very good overview that!  Thanks manderson.  Lets see now .. we have seven days and and there are seven days left to find a solution.  I don’t see anything real yet.  The one thing that I am sad about is that the previous foreign affairs minister, or rather the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Naledi Pandor has lost her seat.  I liked her.  Perhaps they re-appoint her – for the sake of BRICS.

India got their coalition sorted in hours after the final result.  But I don’t think this is all bad for South Africa.  They are re-examining almost everything.

I’m also beginning to send general Africa threads in the main forum to your thread here … thanks!

Right, I think that after 30+ years in power, it is good for ANC to do some reflection. The Zuma party is quite new so we’ll have to watch and see where they go. It seems good for countries to have parties like Zuma on the left of the main party (ANC), even if the main party is rather people focused. Zuma also made statements that suggested they were not willing to form a coalition party; likely they want to continue to push the ANC corruption angle.

Yes it is strange, but normal for US/UK controlled governments.  here in Australia the fake leftist labor party would rather eat nails than form a coalition with the more socialist left Greens (Greens in OZ are not  fake as in the EU)
In practical terms we have a right wing uniparty like all western governments. This is what the West wants for SA.

And yet there are good people in the ANC like Nellie Pandor.  I wonder how she lost her seat?

She just lost her seat .. with the overall rout of the ANC.  She was ranked 86th on the ANC’s national parliamentary list and the ANC only winning 73 national list seats.  Exactly how it works I don’t know but perhaps they will appoint her in some special position.  I hope so, she surely has a lot of miles under her now.

Earlier this year Ethiopia signed a MOU with Somaliland to develop a naval and possibly commercial port on leased land at the Berbera Port on the Gulf of Aden. This would not only give Ethiopia sea access but also increase its geopolitical standing as a naval power on the Gulf of Aden (opposite Yemen). https://www.crisisgroup.org/africa/horn-africa/ethiopia-somaliland/stakes-ethiopia-somaliland-deal

Somaliland, however, is not recognized by any countries yet even though it broke away from Somalia in 1991 (due to economic tensions – Somaliland is far more stable). At the same time (1993), Eritrea broke away from Ethiopia which made Ethiopia a landlocked country (the most populous one in the world). The Ethiopian PM has made regaining access to the Gulf of Aden his priority. The way he handles politics strikes me as similar to Erdogan of Turkey. Here is an Ethiopian analysis of the issue: https://ethiopianinstitute.org/2023/10/geopolitical-imperatives-of-ethiopias-quest-for-red-sea-access-a-historical-and-strategic-analysis/

Now Somalia is threatening to expel Ethiopian troops from its own territory that are there on peace keeping missions as part of the African Union. Given the key role Ethiopia has in fighting terrorism in Somalia itself, this may further destabilize Somalia, but it is understandable given their stance on Somaliland. https://www.reuters.com/world/africa/somalia-expel-ethiopian-troops-unless-somaliland-port-deal-scrapped-official-2024-06-03/

Somaliland and Ethiopia do seem like natural partners since they are both commercially and agriculturally focused. As part of the port deal, Ethiopia will officially recognize Somaliland.

China is also interested in Equatorial Guinea as a possible site for an Atlantic naval base. China is a large trade partner for both Equatorial Guinea and Gabon (its southern neighbor on the coast). Gabon and Equatorial Guinea both have long serving dictators that were mostly western aligned most of their careers. Gabon’s dictator had more recently been working closely with China and had a partnership in place. He was recently disposed in a coup that was less populist than the other coups in the Sahel. So both of these countries are being courted by China and now Russia; and both countries have leaders that could make the switch (i.e. have enough independence and control). https://thediplomat.com/2024/02/china-continues-its-search-for-a-maritime-military-presence-in-west-africa/

⭕ 🇷🇺🇸🇩 Russian Ambassador to Sudan Andrei Chernovol said in his article “On the fight against Western neo-colonialism” that what is happening now in Sudan is the result of the actions of pro-Western political forces in the country, and “it was they who fanned and are fanning the flames of the conflict.”
🔸️ “Western countries will strive to bring mercenaries to power in the country… Their security cover and political partner in achieving their goals in accordance with the Addis Ababa Agreement is the Rapid Reaction Force, which includes 80% mercenaries and foreigners,” the ambassador noted.
🔸️According to him, the RRF committed a number of atrocities and crimes that were condemned by their Western allies, “and this will make it easy to get rid of them (the RRF) in the near future.”
🔸️ “Unscrupulous methods were used, such as falsifying statistics, distorting statements by Sudanese officials, creating artificial obstacles to the delivery of humanitarian aid and other unconvincing arguments. These circles are seeking to announce famine in Sudan, forced population transfers and open borders. This facilitates the process of supplies to areas under the control of the RRF, as is observed in Syria.”

[Russia is more and more assertive on the global stage, especially in defense of those under the satanic western assault. And Sudan, the eastern end of the Sahel with a Red Sea coast, is a vital nation, part of the regional defense against Pax Judaica, precisely why it has been torched by the West. Since Gaza & 404, this is part of realignment of Russia-Islam against Anglo-Zionists]

⭕ 🇺🇳🇸🇩🇷🇺 [June 13], the UN Security Council adopted a resolution calling on the Sudanese Rapid Reaction Force (RRF) to lift the siege of the city of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state, immediately cease hostilities in the city and its surroundings, withdraw all forces and ensure the protection of civilians population.

The resolution submitted by the UK was supported by 14 countries, Russia abstained as it believed the draft resolution was an exaggerated response to the situation in El Fasher and Sudan in general, and proposed issuing a press release instead. Russia, China and other countries, including African countries, also opposed the first version of the draft resolution during initial consultations. Russia and some other countries have demanded that the call for the United Nations or any other neutral body to monitor and coordinate the safe passage of civilians and the withdrawal of fighters be removed. Russia also opposed treating the Sudanese government on an equal basis with any other Sudanese entity in resolving humanitarian issues. China and Russia proposed replacing the term “Sudanese authorities” with the term “Government of Sudan,” but this proposal was not included in the final text of the resolution.
⭕ 🇸🇩🇷🇺🇺🇸 The Sudanese Army was pushed to an agreement with Russia by the US position, loyal to the Rapid Reaction Forces (RRF). This interesting opinion was expressed by a Sudanese expert who previously served as press secretary of the ousted President Omar al-Bashir, Abi Izz al-Din.

“Several signs point to the US position. Firstly, the negotiation process in Jeddah. It led to several agreements that the RRF refused to implement. At the same time, the United States remained silent and did not try to exert any obvious pressure on the RRF. However, if the army did not comply with these agreements, the United States immediately presented all its yellow and red cards.

Second, even during the era of its ally [deposed Prime Minister Abdullah] Hamdok, the United States did not cooperate with Sudan. All they did was increase Sudan’s external debt by issuing bridge loans with higher interest rates to pay off existing loans. That’s all that America has done,” the expert said.
⭕ 🇸🇩🇷🇺 Sudan has no objections to providing Russia with a base on the Red Sea

This was stated by Sudanese Finance Minister Jibril Ibrahim.

Ibrahim added that the proposed idea of a Russian presence on the coast of Sudan does not mean the presence of military specialists or a base, noting that it is a “service point where Russian warships can stop for the necessary time, access any supplies and carry out maintenance.”

The minister noted that Sudan “does not object to the Russian presence, but objections come from the West, the United States and its allies”
⭕ 🇸🇩 Russia is one of the countries that is most likely to take part in the reconstruction of Sudan after the war and will provide it with every opportunity for this, said Sudanese Foreign Minister Hussein Awad Ali.

He expressed hope that Russian companies will play an important role in this process. Regarding the conflict in Sudan, the minister expressed confidence that “this war will not last more than 4 to 6 months,” during which the Rapid Reaction Force (RRF), which he called “a cancer,” “will be eliminated.”

“There is an official approach to rebuilding [post-war] Sudan’s [infrastructure] and dealing with the consequences of the war. There is a condition that the door in this matter will be open for the participation of countries that have taken a position of supporting the army and the survival of Sudan,” Awad added.
⭕ 🇸🇩🇺🇸 The US Treasury announced new sanctions against Sudan. This happened just a few days later, as it became known about the renewal of the agreement between Sudan and Russia on the creation of a logistics base for the Russian Navy on the Sudanese coast of the Red Sea

      💠 @Sputnik Africa:
⭕ 🇸🇩 The conflict in Sudan has displaced over 10 million people, says the International Organization for Migration (IOM)
🔸️This displacement crisis, deemed the world’s worst by the UN, includes 7.26 million newly displaced and 2.83 million previously displaced since the start of the conflict in April 2023.
🔸️The IOM added that over 2 million refugees have fled to neighboring countries.
🔸️The fighting between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths, with estimates reaching as high as 150,000, and a dire humanitarian situation. Khartoum, the capital, is devastated and largely deserted.
🔸️This war-driven displacement has created a catastrophic humanitarian emergency in Sudan, with widespread hunger, malnutrition, and limited access to aid. The UN reported “systematic obstructions” hindering aid delivery. [The same playbook by the same demons! Generational siege, chaos and war on civilians, then starve and disease them to extermination and extinction. The Karma on the way….]
⭕ 🇷🇺 🇸🇩 Russia’s UN mission on the Security Council resolution on Sudan: the document is detached from reality, ignores “principled comments” of the Sudanese
🔸️It was “simply impossible” to reach a consensus in the vote on the proposed document, according to Russia’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Anna Evstigneeva.
🔸️”The current resolution also contains no substantive proposals to address the complex situation in Sudan. The document clearly does not take into account the opinion of the Sudanese side and is not based on any agreements reached,” she said at the UNSC meeting.
🔸️On Thursday, the UNSC adopted a resolution introduced by the UK, which, inter alia, calls on the Rapid Support Force (RSF) to end the siege of the city of El Fasher in western Sudan, calls for an end to fighting in the city. Fourteen countries voted in favor of the resolution, while Russia abstained.
🔸️Russia also called on “individual members” of the Security Council “to stop hiding behind good intentions to ensure humanitarian access to Sudan,” Evstigneeva added.

Thank you AHH for the update on Sudan. Their country has such a long sad history. Unsurprisingly, divisions which the English made worse during colonialism. Last time I had looked at the conflict it was unclear how the sides were aligned. Now it seems Russia at least is sure who they are supporting. What confuses me is that there are two names for the opposition Rapid Support Forces and Rapid Reaction Forces. As far as I know the Rapid Support Forces are the rebels here in this civil war, and interestingly, they were trained by Wagner. They are mercenaries and deemed terrorists now by the Sudanese government. This is different from prior sudanese civil wars which had a north-south component and a christian-muslim component. It appears the Sudanese govt decided that the RSF should be disarmed and disbanded (given their history of atrocities). Even though they once served the Sudanese govt they had become a problem and were hated in the south. It is interesting that Russia is now siding against the ex-wagner trained para-militaries. This is certainly the correct choice given that the sudanese govt is the lawful, recognized govt of sudan.

On the other hand, the rapid reaction force (RRF) is also a para-military body but composed of nations of the African Union. It is possible that the RRF is causing problems in Sudan alongside the RSF, but maybe the RU Ambassador meant RSF not RRF. The AU RRF (also called the ASF) is deployed across the eastern Sahel and could be slightly western aligned by not as much as ECOWAS. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_Standby_Force The two primary militaries in the RRF/ASF for this region are Ethiopia and Nigeria. The RU ambassador’s article is here: https://afrinz.ru/en/2024/06/on-confronting-western-neo-colonialism-article-by-andrey-chernovol-russian-ambassador-to-sudan/

It might just be bad translations too. For example, this key sentence doesn’t make sense: “Их силовое прикрытие и политический партнер по аддис-абебскому соглашению — СБР (военизированная организация «Силы быстрого реагирования» — «АИ»), на 80% укомплектованные иностранными наемниками. ” “Their force cover and political partner in the Addis Ababa agreement is the SIS (paramilitary organisation “Rapid Reaction Force” – “AI”), 80% staffed by foreign mercenaries.” I am just not sure who the ambassador is talking about (whether SIS / RRF / or AI), or what relevance the Addis Adaba agreement from the first sudanese civil war has with any of these groups including RSF and AU. Anyway, still very confusing to me.

Nevertheless, it appears Russia is working to help the sudanese govt fight these terrorists (the RSF) and that’s great news. Last I had heard only saudi arabia and UAE were trying to do something to settle things.

RRF = RSF. It used to be known as the RSF, but since the civil war they style themselves as RRF to denote they are no mere adjuncts to the state army but their own institution, vying to control the entire country. Nothing to do officially with the AU or Ethiopia, although all neighbors are impacted and involve themselves to a degree. This also appears the typical periodic Anglo rebranding of terrorist organizations to confuse people worldwide.

Both sides had connections to Wagner and Russia in past. Russia supported most anti-imperialists; however the RRF went criminal, largely influenced by GCC and Brits — paid in Sudanese gold from their mine holdings in Darfur and southern Sudan, and used as Saudi mercenaries in Yemen where thousands had died before they quit. The Russian connection ended on RRF side (remaining Anglo psyop to slander Russia), and rebuilt with Russian Armed Forces on Sudanese army side.

Neither Sudanese side of their Junta has much wisdom and sense, but at least the main army was less criminal and more pro-people. Sudan is a case study why an army is unfit to lead a nation — power is not enough.

Sudan had strong Muslim Brotherhood influence for generations, corrupting all, providing access to controlling British intelligence which helped create the ongoing catastrophe.

Russia, Iran, Egypt, west sahelian Juntas — indeed all who sincerely care for peace and want to end Genocide, are on Sudanese army side now. The West, GCC, Zionists, and Western vassals are on side of the RRF/RSF to entrench extermination of Sudan and its disintegration into 100 pieces. This still may happen due to the lack of wisdom, tribalism, corruption, adherence to the satanic Muslim Brotherhood ideology of the main Sudanese army elite. It is beyond sad.

Sudan today is where Europe would be in ten years if the EU liberal technocrats keep power — a headless hellscape playground of devils with absolutely no future.

On western media terrorism against Global South, seeking to spread Chaos through division, slander, economic siege, and isolation of the target, focusing here on tourism in BRICS Ethiopia and the newly sovereign Russia-ally Mali.

      💠 @Sputnik Africa:
⭕🇲🇱 Mali’s Transitional President Assimi Goïta accuses France of printing counterfeit CFA franc notes to damage the Malian economy

The same tactic was used against Guinea in 1960, the Malian leader noted in a speech in the Malian city of Sikasso.

This approach is part of “three types of terrorism” facing Mali, he continued.

      These are:
      ✔️ armed terrorism:
      ✔️ media terrorism (lies and fake news “to turn us against each other”);
      ✔️ economic terrorism.

As an example of the latter, Goïta recalled the situation when Bamako turned to Guinea for its trade following the imposition of sanctions by ECOWAS in 2022. In fact, port fees for Malians in this country were three times higher.

Finally, the Malian leader called for the abandonment of the CFA franc, a colonial currency, in favor of a local currency.
⭕ ❗️❗️❗️ “Tourism is a vehicle for peace all over the world,” Ethiopian tourism minister tells Sputnik Africa

“Ethiopia has been a victim of that for a very long time. So we really appreciate, having allies [BRICS] that can advocate for each other,” she said.

She highlighted that “it is important to advocate the truth and the accurate information about each other and also for others in the world to do the same because all human beings share the same aspirations.”

⭕ The UAE’s growing presence in Africa and who does not benefit from it

One of the world’s largest port operators, Dubai-based DP World, plans to invest $3 billion in new port infrastructure in Africa by 2029. DP World is expanding operations in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and is evaluating port operations in South Africa and Kenya for potential investment in development of cobalt and lithium deposits .

Since 2020, the UAE has strategically expanded its presence in Africa and become an influential player on the continent . The monarchy has focused particularly on the energy sector, as well as investments in logistics networks.

Thus, the Emirati company Masdar has built five wind farms in South Africa , battery energy storage systems in Senegal and solar energy facilities in Mauritania. Abu Dhabi logistics company AD Ports is also strengthening its presence in Africa . Last year AD Ports won a 30-year concession to operate the port of Pointe Noire in the Republic of Congo, and in April received a 20-year concession to operate the Angolan terminal in Luanda.

Africa with a consumer market of 1 billion people, infrastructure development needs and rich natural resources is of great interest to the Emirates. However, the activity of the Arab monarchy on the African continent is not beneficial to many . First of all, Europe , which is not happy to see competitors in the highly profitable green sector, as well as China , previously the largest investor in Africa.

Has a qualitative plateau of rage been reached in Kenya? Kenya is a strategic land — a vital part of the Old World and Indian Ocean maritime silk road for countless millennia.. the same world struggling to be reborn as multipolar.

I don’t have a feel. Anglophones are weird, like the Five Eyes nations. Among most mindwashed and docile on earth, firmly under the imperial thumb. Thus these nations will be the last to exit the Matrix and regain sovereignty.. Yet all of Africa is aflame and on the march. The Kenyan elites, as abject as any everywhere else, may have miscalculated. We shall see

⭕ The first elements of the Kenyan police force tasked with combating widespread gang violence in Haiti are leaving Kenya on Tuesday and are expected to arrive this week, the US State Department has announced.

The deployment has been repeatedly delayed by legal challenges and the continuing deterioration of security in Haiti, which forced former Prime Minister Ariel Henry to resign in March.

On Monday, Kenyan President William Ruto organized a departure ceremony for 400 officers who will make up the first contingent deployed to Haiti. Another group of around 600 officers will join the first contingent later.

It won’t be a walk in the park, nor will it be tourism, and it’s a safe bet that there will be a lot of action.

Thank you for the maps and the updates on Kenya. I had no idea that the US was now funding Kenya via CHIPS act and NATO. The NATO designation for Kenya is big. Colombia was recently designated in part I think because so many mercenaries come from there and several training camps are there, it makes it easier for ITAR and other regulations if they are designated. Maybe they are planning the same type of mercenary bases for Kenya. This might not be to train mercs to destabilize Africa but more as a recruitment hub for all of Africa so they can then be sent elsewhere. I believe Colombian mercs have been killed in Gaza and Ukraine.

Here’s some more maps of UAE DP world projects in Africa.

DP world also won the contract for expanding the Berbera port in Somaliland for Ethiopia/Somaliland. Here is their plan for that:

Yes, Columbian mercs are still active in the Ukraine. I saw the remains of one on a TG channel just a few days ago. They also died in industrial quantities in Yemen during the hot phase of another lost cause, paid for by KSA and UAE, and often under command of Blackwater spin-offs.

Thanks for map of UAE “ports.” These are all near or on the key oil, mineral or strategic lands! And they work for and are ideologically with the Anglo-Zionists. Note the latest port in Berbera is just off the Bab El Mandeb and across from Yemen. One of most important ports worldwide, used in past by British Empire then USSR. Somalia was destroyed in part to dismantle it and then obtain this key port to control the Red Sea SLOC.

But welcome to our Brave New World of dronification and hypersonics! All these bases are now Big Fat Targets, holdover of a dead Old Order. All they contain are hostages and sources of humiliation — not lilly pads to aggress other civilizations.

Kenyan elite beat a temporary retreat

I was too nauseated to share this when I first heard it. But it puts in context the character of the man.. note the introductory salutations, “…and Vice President of the United States…” (!!) That says it all right there. In a conference in Suisse, ostensibly about the Ukraine and peace. He is a really useful man, like Borrell.

Then for deeper context, this is the head of state of a nation that Russia gifted a lot of free fertilizer! But there’s a silver lining – the two delightfully understated yet expressive faces behind him (one black, one white).. the one-eyed handlers of blind frontmen all around the table!

South Africa – I came across this old documentary by John Pilger (rip).  Note the date 1998  – four years after the freedom election.

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVwEHdDHs78

He compares a very rich enclave (Sandton I think) with a very poor almost squatter black community.  This is a bit rich as this is common in Africa and just think of favelas in Brazil, think of India.  Our world is not fair and not even the New South Africa could get free of poverty in their 30 years of rule.  But hear what Nelson Mandela said himself – they made ‘accommodations’ with the west (that would be with the mine owners and filthy rich business owners).  I’ve always known this.  But to today, they blame the ordinary white South African walking the same streets for ‘owning all the wealth’.

Just as the Americans will never be forgiven for the slaughter of the American Indians and the zionist israelis will never be forgiven for the slaughter of the Palestinians, so the white South African will never be forgiven for the more or less 50 years of apartheid.   The ANC government (now a GNU) is race-mad.   The current GNU (government of national unity) is one hell of an experiment and they’ve already started beating one another up in parliamentary circles. https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2024-06-28-effs-marshall-dlamini-sentenced-for-assaulting-constable-in-parliament-he-remains-an-mp/  (paper more to the right side but those descriptors do not make sense these days).

The expectation is that they may be able to seat a parliament after this weekend.  The proportional representation of the two biggest parties has somehow disappeared and now what is left of the ANC wants to give the DA (second in the elections) fewer government seats and if that does not work, they will try to invite the very small parties to have a seat each.

In the meantime, “New faces, old scandals: The familiar staleness of South Africa’s 2024 National Assembly” https://mg.co.za/editorial/2024-06-28-new-faces-old-scandals-the-familiar-staleness-of-south-africas-2024-national-assembly/       (paper more to the left).

Race Madness … there are reasons why the ANC lost their majority badly during the elections.  One can be thankful for small mercies and say it looks a lot worse in Kenya.   Why does the Kenyan violence persist?   That is a new essay.

Pilger has some pieces about the mines which are not in white South African hands but in white British and US hands.  The ordinary white South African these days would be a poorer person, struggling to make a living, like the rest of the country.  The difference is that they are legislated out of the workplace (300 race-based laws).  They cannot even have a small business because they have to have a black partner.

As Pilger says, nothing much has changed apartheid-wise.  What he does not say is that it was only flipped from one color to another.  The black folks still sing .. Kill the Farmer, Kill the Boer.   https://x.com/ConCaracal/status/1806627046233166046

I do not know what the state was of white farm murders at the time the documentary was made.  Currently, it is out of control.

Two more issues not in the documentary, kinda updated:

      – the impoverished white population living in shanty towns or squatter camps is approaching 700,000 by some of the highest counts I saw.  Of course, that number is highly contested.  Others say there are only a few thousand.  With my eyes there are many more than a few thousand as I traveled from the North to the South, showing my children the country, just before the turn of the century.  There are 4 to 5 million whites still left in South Africa and they are not leaving.  There is no European right of return and most do not even know where in Europe they came from except perhaps by last name traced back throughout marriages.  They are Africans – they integrated.  The jews have long since left and so have most of the Brits.

      https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7503941/Inside-South-Africas-post-Apartheid-white-squatter-camps.html

      – the Marikana murders, where the police opened fire directly into protesting mine workers – Cyril Rampahosa was a director at this mine.  This was in 2012 – 18 years after apartheid was abolished.

      https://www.sahistory.org.za/article/marikana-massacre-16-august-2012

I enjoyed the Pilger documentary although there is a lot that I can take issue with.  Let’s see if these folks can come up with a functioning state apparatus where they don’t beat one another up.

        Mao said it so beautifully,

“To oppose U.S. imperialism, people of European origin in the Latin-American countries should unite with the indigenous Indians. Perhaps the white immigrants from Europe can be divided into two groups, one composed of rulers and the other of ruled. This should make it easier for the group of oppressed white people to get close to the local people, for their position is the same..

Yeah those millions of whites aren’t going anywhere. Every nation is composed of migrants, if you go back far enough.

I don’t know South Africa, but I bet the non-elite blacks know by now the majority white poor aren’t the problem too. It always comes down to criminal elites, of every color, in every country.

The good sign of the recent election is that the old games are unsustainable for black elites, who’ve mismanaged and disastrously chained themselves to the old corrupt white elites, both local and supranational.. Kenya, and if ignored, Niger & Juntas, are such sweet Bells that tell the corrupt elite that Time tolls for them too

The era of wars on the cheap is ending. Rumsfeld-Cebrowski of generating Chaos and Forever Wars in the lands of Others is coming to a close. Even their own boots will not compensate.

Drones and missiles and potent air defense denying entire regions, and the massive industrial warfare capabilities required to overwhelm and sustain them, are here to stay. Using primitive terrorists or even most trained humans, has become impossible! War is revolutionized.

The SMO in 404 was a successful live experiment that taught the civilizational-states the finishing touches to not only defeat the crazed West, but for good.

We now see imperial proxies in rapid retreat in any region the Heartland chooses to retake. They can be attrited en masse remotely. The West, lacking the moral ground and reliant on criminals everywhere, and now stripped of military dominance, cannot save its pet vipers. Even major allies like the shocked Turks retreat against what comes in Syria!

Printing toilet paper is no solution. They are generations behind the tech, and will be soon counter-sanctioned to death, like a boa constrictor squeezing a meal’s oxygen supply entirely off! They will be unable to access sufficient rare earths and special metals and minerals and noble or ordinary gases and rebuild the war forges — for generations!

They will be kept poor and with primitive tools for generations, none ever trusting the satanists to behave again. It will be Morgenthau Plan for the entire West, and on steroids!

And the criminals see these moves happening in broad daylight. This is why they are going nuclear. But it not only hastens their Fall, it makes it permanent… what idiocy, rolling in terminal despair

⭕ 🇩🇿 Today Algeria celebrates its national Independence Day from France.

      #День_в_истории
Exactly 62 years ago, on July 5, 1962, after eight years of a bloody war for freedom from colonial oppression, Algeria was declared an independent state.

Colonial Algeria has a history of more than 130 years of resistance and struggle. The long-awaited sovereignty, acquired in 1962, came at great cost to the country – according to Algerian official data, up to 1.5 million Algerians died in the war against France (1954 – 1962), that is, about a sixth of the total population at that time in history. To suppress anti-French sentiment, the colonial authorities used the most inhumane methods of intimidation and violence, recorded in numerous sources and documents. According to the Algerian League for the Defense of Human Rights (LADDH), “The Algerian people will never be able to forget the crimes of France, which have killed more than 10 million Algerians since 1830.”

The Paris Museum of Man still houses 18 thousand skulls from dependent countries, including the remains of several dozen Algerian resistance fighters. France’s colonial crimes affected not only human lives, but also the country’s cultural and historical heritage. During the entire period of occupation, the French transported hundreds of thousands of documents to Paris, including those relating to the Ottoman era (1518-1830). The return of skulls, the archive, an official apology and many other issues still hinder the full development of Franco-Algerian relations, forming a so-called “memory dossier” between the two countries.

We have an Alliance of Sahel States (AES)

BREAKING! The presidents of Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso signed a charter on the creation of a confederation.

The primary objective of the 1st Summit of the Alliance of Sahel States (ASS, AES in French), involving the leaders of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger, was to adopt a draft document for the creation of an AGS confederation, according to the Nigerian Press Agency (NAP).

The summit, held in Niamey, is chaired by Niger’s leader, Abdurahmane Tchiani. Presidents Ibrahim Traoré of Burkina Faso and Assimi Goita of Mali are also in attendance.

On Saturday, General Abdourahamane Tiani, the military leader of Niger, stated that the people of his country, along with those of Mali and Burkina Faso, have “irrevocably turned their backs” on the West African bloc, ECOWAS

The last colonists are now being pushed out …

The German armed forces will give up its airbase in Niger, which was used as a military transport hub, by August 31, as the sides failed to extend the agreement concerning the base, German media reported, citing the German Defense Ministry.

The talks broke down after the new Nigerien authorities had refused to grant German soldiers with immunity from prosecution, the NTV news outlet reported, citing a document the ministry had presented to the parliament.

Germany expects to withdraw its troops from the country by the end of August.

The German military has used the base in Niger’s capital, Niamey, since 2013 as a supply center for its armed forces in neighboring Mali, which were stationed there as part of a UN peacekeeping mission.

Nigerien authorities have also terminated military agreements with France and the United States, which led to the French and US forces’ withdrawal from the country.

Let me leave this here.  This is an interesting story from the South African white community.  With the last election, there is some hope for this community and they all feel it.

The community is working together and their slogan is:  ‘We will do it ourselves’.  They fix their own roads, the one town now has their own fire station, they are building last I heard some small power stations and they do a lot of community outreach and specifically safety outreach.  Remember, you may not donate to anything that is white.  You may only donate to black causes.  I have told about the approximately 300 pieces of racial legislation on the books, mostly new and designed to display some very weird restorative justice to people who were not even born during the apartheid years.  People are legislated out of the workplace and the crime rate on white is much higher than the crime rate overall, which is horrendous already.   This is after these white Africans in a referendum voted for change in the country many years ago and there was a Truth and Reconciliation process to work for better relations.  There is always the story that capital is still in white hands and if you are white, you get accused of having ‘capital’ lol.  After 30 years of freedom?

When I was there last, a good 12 years ago, my mom regularly donated to a seed bank.  I wanted to take some seeds and go and make vegetable gardens at a nearby very poor squatter camp.  I was told under no circumstances, as I would be killed wanting to do anything ‘while white’.   It is a forgotten community and the podcast will tell you why.

The podcast makes a short but good overview.

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) said on Sunday the region risked disintegration and worsening insecurity after junta-led Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger made clear their intentions to leave the bloc by signing a confederation treaty.

The Alliance of Sahel States treaty, signed on Saturday, underscored the three countries’ determination to turn their backs on the 15-member ECOWAS, which has been urging them to return to democratic rule.

ECOWAS commission president Omar Touray said freedom of movement and a common market of 400 million people were some of the major benefits of the near 50-year-old bloc, but that these were under threat if the three countries left.

Funding of economic projects worth over $500 million in Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger could also be stopped or suspended, Touray told an ECOWAS summit in Nigerian capital Abuja.

The three countries’ withdrawal will be a major blow to security cooperation particularly in terms of intelligence sharing and participation in the fight against terrorism, he added.

ECOWAS leaders gathered at the summit to discuss the implications of the treaty by the Alliance of Sahel States seizing control in a series of coups in the three states in 2020-2023 and severing military and diplomatic ties with regional allies and Western powers.

“But unfortunately, the previous leaders did not have enough authority, enough decision-making at their level to get rid of certain pressures and to go for this union,” Fousseynou Ouattara stressed.

Today, we can say that the three AES countries “have completely left the orbit of the former metropolis” and are independent “thanks to the support of true friends,” including Russia, China, Turkey and Iran.

🇷🇺 Ouattara believes that Russia “will be able to make a great gesture” and “set up a Marshall Plan” for the AES.

“I am sure that this space will be a very, very profitable market for Russian industries (…). I believe that the role that Russia can play will be decisive for our future,” he stressed.

The article by Marat Khairullin regarding the Africa Front and the development goals in the Sahel and north Africa is great news to hear. https://sovereignista.com/2024/07/27/the-african-front/

So Togo to Somaliland will be the route for cross-Africa travel. I am glad Russia is leading this effort, including integration and building of banks and a customs union. Africa already has a customs union and a visa free union, but they don’t work, from what I’ve read. Of course, several contingency plans were also hinted at (in Sudan and Senegal) so I guess the route is subject to change / expansion.

Somaliland is unlikely.. it is a strongly disputed land, like Kosovo, recognized by only a few. It is a breakaway territory. Somalia and Ethiopia have a rivalry as ancient as Brits and French. When Ethiopia signed a direct deal with Somaliland for a desperately needed sea port, Somalia went ballistic and marshalled the UN, AU, Arab League – who all reminded Ethiopia that Mogadishu decides the port of Berbera, even though Somaliland has de facto been independent for 33+ years.

And then militarily-weak Somalia recruited both the Egyptian army/navy (which has grudge against Ethiopia for the GERD dam constricting the Nile waters) and Turkey (enticed with oil drilling rights – Somalia has offshore more oil than OPEC members UAE or Kuwait!). Turkey immediately sent naval ships to patrol Somalia’s coast.. and the US has bases all along Somalia. so this is nasty developing story, involving NATO, Erdogan and more NATO poodle Egypt. And the UN law is really against Somaliland, as the entirety of Somalia has been a “frozen” conflict since early 1990s.

The East – West road is not as critical as putting out proxy and terrorist wars. The West must be defeated. Trade and development, nevermind peace and security, are impossible on any square meter of contested Africa until then.

The battles are going back and forth right now, with some recent victories to Empire in Mali’s north. However as the state armies are rebuilt, the Russian Africorps settles in, and the desert supply ratlines are cut which feed the separatist Tuaregs (the most dangerous apparently), then roll back will become visible. This has been the real mission of Lavrov and Russian diplomacy – to court Chad and Libya to help close those profitable smuggling routes that keep feeding Tuaregs and other imperial proxies.

And the problem is not really Tuaregs, who are not terrorist, but victims of French-created borders, as cruel and deliberately malicious as British-created ones, and which left them stateless in four or more separate countries, like the Balochi or Hausa or Kurds. And now, to add injury to injury, the same Empire uses them as proxies to weaken the 1885 artificial states..

I suspect the civilizational-states diplomacy is busy solving the root cause – those imperialist borders. More confederations make more sense, as with the AES of Mali-Niger-Burkina. For true peace, Africa needs to discard the 1885 Berlin Conference diktats, as 1916 Sykes-Picot conspiracies for West Asia…

The Berlin Conference oh boy.  The biggest problem was to define What is Effective Colonization.  One has to be somewhat calm, as it is a wholesale mess now.  One has to accept that colonization was the order of the day and one cannot throw that period away from your history.

It is a hard issue – does one start with the situation on the ground, or does one say, throw it away and start new?  Starting with the situation on the ground and working through the problems of borders designed by hyper colonialists (don’t forget slavery at the time), seems to me a better way forward.  But the Africans are also nowadays a little big for their breeches and want things given to them, as a result of a horrible colonial episode.  Like others, they are going to have to sit down and sort out the hard way.  Religion is also an issue.

I would consider the East West road as perhaps not critical, but an opportunity that may solve other issues in the process of doing business.

the concept of the “nation state” as defined by the West, often with random lines drawn on a paper map centuries ago through naked diktat, is artificial and abnormal for most humanity and through most human history, including within the West itself today.

Doing away with it is the serious solution to healing most intractable border problems at root of generational strife – permanently oozing wounds which outsiders take advantage of to interfere in other regions — such as at India-China border. Most should abolish these relatively new western conventions to regain sanity.

This is planned within Russia itself – the concept of “the Union State” which shall absorb Novorossiya, Kazakhstan, etc..

Marat Khairullin is correct to note the stability and prosperity the Malian “Empire” enjoyed from what is today Senegal, through Mali, Burkina and Niger – more advanced and prosperous and civilized than medieval Europe! All those ancient structures of coexistence were smashed aside by colonialists; it didn’t have anything to do with formal slavery, which was ended in West long before 1885. It was to permanently divide and weaken Africans, which was achieved and maintained since then, largely by force.

The AES Juntas are leading the easiest way in Africa in the return to successful templates. Ain’t true democracy and self-actualization wonderful? And it makes self-defense against merciless organized barbarians that much easier. The age of the helpless micro-state kept so for easy plunder should disappear in the Global South. So, the translation .. humorously set up as a customer testimonial :

“We were arrested and the shit beat out of us by K9 guys when we dug up city power cables.  When we got to the scrap yard (of course to sell the cable) they shot our car fucked up and burning, 10 yards? away.  10 out of 10 they are better than the police, they did not even count the bribe money. ”

⭕ 🇺🇳 How Africa’s ‘ticket’ to prosperity fueled a debt bomb

Credit ratings were meant to help sub-Saharan countries tap global investors to fund much-needed development. But low scores, heavy borrowing and bad luck have left many struggling with crushing bond debt.

In 2002, Africa seemed poised to rise. Wealthy creditor nations were wiping billions of dollars of unsustainable debt off the books of sub-Saharan countries, and global demand was surging for the commodities the region exports, supercharging hopes of a sustained economic boom.

The United Nations, backed by the United States, had a plan to fuel the expansion: sovereign credit ratings. These metrics — essentially an informed guess of a nation’s ability to repay lenders — would for the first time allow a wide swath of the poorest region on Earth to tap yield-hungry investors in the global bond market.

And the cash borrowed wouldn’t come with strict controls on how it would be spent, as is the case with financing from multilateral institutions like the International Monetary Fund. The U.N. heralded the initiative as “an assault on poverty in Sub-Saharan African countries.”

Today, the optimism has faded, washed away by a deluge of debt.

Essential to the plan were the “Big Three” U.S.-based credit rating agencies — S&P Global Ratings, Moody’s Ratings and Fitch Ratings, which together account for more than 90% of global ratings. The rating agencies collected fees for their services and began applying their complex analyses to the region.

Given the troubled economic history and conditions of sub-Saharan Africa, it came as little surprise that the Big Three gave most countries below-investment-grade, or “junk,” ratings. Those low scores meant the countries had to pay higher interest rates on their bonds to attract investors who might otherwise balk at the risk. The thinking at the time was that African countries’ ratings would improve, and their cost of borrowing decline, as their growing economies allowed them both to repay their debts and invest in development.

Instead, the push for credit ratings set these nations on a path to debt many could not afford. Over the past two decades, more than a dozen sub-Saharan countries borrowed nearly $200 billion from overseas bond investors, according to World Bank figures.

As their nations’ finances faltered, African leaders lashed out at the rating agencies with allegations that the firms were biased in their assessments.

The result: Billions of dollars meant to pay for badly needed improvements to infrastructure, education and healthcare are now going toward interest payments. Sub-Saharan Africa’s average debt ratio has almost doubled in the past decade — from 30% of gross domestic product at the end of 2013 to nearly 60% in 2022. The region today has the highest rate of extreme poverty in the world.

The financial burden carries deadly potential. In June, anti-government riots exploded across Kenya in protest against proposed tax increases, including levies on bread, cooking oil and other staples, to help fund payments on the roughly $80 billion Kenya owes creditors. The rioting, which continued after the proposal was withdrawn, left dozens dead and many more injured.

Privately-held debt also got Argentina in trouble and proved much harder to default on than IMF debt. Ethiopia stopped payment to the IMF for three years, essentially defaulting. When Argentina attempted similar re-negotiations with US bankers holding their debt there were many hold outs and then many many lawsuits and essentially non-stop demands to pay full price plus damages. Public bond issues (private debt) can be worse for nations because there’s no single entity to negotiate with and no way to declare bankruptcy.

Fortunately, Russia has started its own credit rating agency for exactly this reason. These US rating agencies also rate Russia as junk, despite glowing world bank reports, so clearly biased. https://www.reuters.com/article/business/russian-ratings-agency-acra-sees-portfolio-growing-as-foreigners-leave-idUSKBN19P1VB/

British-owned Lonmin mine in the platinum belt of South Africa and a massacre.

34 South African mineworkers were massacred by police, on this day in 2012. It was the worst massacre since the apartheid regime’s repression of the 1976 Soweto uprising.

The killings were also a political turning point as many workers started to lose faith in the increasingly neoliberal African National Congress (ANC). As a result, the Economic Freedom Fighters, led by Julius Malema, burst onto the scene and is still contending with the ANC.

The strike began in August 2012 demanding a pay raise. The government-allied union, the National Union of Mineworkers, did not approve the walkout but workers still went ahead with a wildcat strike.

Government repression resulted in the killing of 34 miners whose families are still seeking justice. This is the worst massacre to have been carried out by an ANC government.

The current President was deeply involved.  Here is the statement of the mineworker’s union.

Four reasons why NUMSA rejects Cyril Ramaphosa’s un-apology for Marikana
The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa, (NUMSA) rejects the un-apology made by the Deputy President of the country and the ANC, Cyril Ramaphosa, regarding his role in the Marikana Massacre. Ramaphosa was the chairperson of Lonmin mines, at the time of the massacre and Deputy president of the country.
In the email which he sent to Lonmin’s chief commercial officer, Albert Jamieson the day before the fateful killing of workers on August 16, 2012, Ramaphosa described the strike action taken by the miners as ‘dastardly criminal acts’ which required ‘concomitant action’ to address the situation. Ramaphosa’s apology nearly five years later are just empty words. There is no substance to his expression of regret and below are five reasons why:
      1. At the time that the miners of Marikana were shot down by South African police Ramaphosa was Deputy president of the country, as well as chairman of Lonmin mines. The labour dispute which sparked the violent strike at Marikana was precipitated by poor wages, and poor working conditions of miners in the area. Ramaphosa’s past experience as a trade unionist and founder of NUM did nothing to improve the conditions of miners in Marikana.
Under his watch as a Lonmin executive the majority of miners lived, and continue to live in the same hovels which existed under Apartheid. It was the dehumanizing experience of living in squalor, in shacks with no water, no electricity or basic sanitation services, that the demand for a living wage of R12500 was made. Ramaphosa  had the power as an executive to make decisions which could have vastly improved the lives of the miners, but he chose not to.
Instead, when the interests of White monopoly capital were threatened and workers were forced to go on an illegal strike, because their trade union of choice, the National Union of Mineworkers (which he helped establish), had abandoned them, instead of using his skills as a negotiator in the union, he called for and colluded with the minister of police to end the strike, by any means necessary. During the Farlam Commission hearings it was found that the state planned for the massacre by ordering several mortuary vans in advance, therefore any claims by officials that the killings were unintentional are hollow.
      2. The National Minimum Wage is further evidence that Ramaphosa is lying when he claims that he cares about workers. He has been spearheading a campaign, on behalf of big business to legalize R20 per hour as a minimum wage so that workers in South Africa can be exploited far more than they are already. There can be no radical economic transformation when workers are earning less than R3500 per month, and yet that is precisely what Ramaphosa is advocating for.
We live in a country of extreme inequality, rampant poverty, and an unemployment rate of at least 25%. The miners of Marikana were shot and killed, for daring to demand a living wage of R12500 as a living wage, and the deputy president responds by implementing a minimum wage which will have no impact on alleviating poverty and inequality.
      3. Ramaphosa, and the ANC which he leads have spent the last 23 years defending and protecting White monopoly Capital, and they will continue to do so. On the one hand Ramaphosa claims that radical economic transformation is an imperative, but at the same time, he keeps celebrating the NDP (National Development Plan) as the vehicle through which this transformation will be achieved. The NDP, and its predecessor GEAR are neo-liberal economic policies which have been harmful to workers and their families for the last 23 years.
The ANC as the governing party, has refused to use its majority in parliament to implement policies of nationalization which would radically transform the lives of the African majority immediately. They have refused to nationalize the land; the banks as well as the commanding heights of the economy. Instead they continue to pursue neo liberal capitalist economic policies which are responsible for the suffering of workers and their families.
The ANC is fighting to ensure that this oppressive economic system which is characterized by low pay, and poor working conditions continues, because they want to please ratings agencies and foreign investors – they don’t care about African majority which elected them into power.
      4. Ramaphosa and the ANC have launched a shameless attack on the working class. The Deputy President is driving legislation to limit the right to strike. This former trade unionist is fighting to undo all the work that workers in South Africa fought and died for under Apartheid.
Whilst the lives of millions of South Africans haven’t changed much since the days of Apartheid, Ramaphosa has undergone a personal radical economic transformation of epic proportions. He has gone from trade union leader, to big business billionaire and union basher. That is his legacy, 23 years after the end of Apartheid.
He is promoting the kind of radical economic transformation which empowers a small elite at the expense of the African working class majority.
As NUMSA we cannot take the utterances of the Deputy President seriously.   Ramaphosa and the ANC that he leads do not have any solutions for the working class. For the last 23 years the ANC has bent over backwards in an attempt to please big business, for example, by commercializing the roads through e-tolls and allowing labour brokers to flourish.
They even went as far as implementing a Youth Wage subsidy, where they basically pay employers for hiring young people and exploiting them with poor wages! It was the ANC’s senseless pursuit of rampant capitalism which eventually forced NUMSA to reject President Jacob Zuma and the ANC.
When we criticize Ramaphosa, we are not narrow in our analysis. We cannot support anyone from the ANC because we know that the ANC does not have any solutions for the challenges facing the poor and the working class of South Africa. It is bizarre therefore, that given extensive evidence to the latter, that any credible labour or leftist movement would still remain in the alliance when the governing party, has done nothing but show workers the middle finger!
NUMSA does not suffer from this kind of ideological confusion. We are proud of our reputation in the labour movement as a truly militant, worker driven formation. After 30 years in the battle for workers, we remain the largest worker led formation in the country and our revolutionary principles back this up.

⭕ 🇧🇪🇱🇾 Around 3 billion euros in interest from Libyan funds frozen in local banks were lost in Belgium.

This was reported by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Polyansky, at a briefing of the UN Security Council on Libya. According to him, Libyan assets, which are currently “frozen” under the sanctions regime by unscrupulous Western banks and financial institutions, must be preserved so that they can be used in the future for the benefit of the Libyan people, as was set out in the relevant UN Security Council documents.

“As is well known, in 2011 the Libyan state was destroyed and the Security Council imposed sanctions against the country. However, the Belgian fund Euroclear still holds about €15 billion belonging to the Libyan Investment Authority (LIA). As recently revealed by a journalistic investigation, for 6 years, allegedly “by mistake”, Belgian bankers pretended not to know about the need to “freeze” the interest income received from this capital. Moreover, this income was quietly “written off” from the accounts and disappeared. As far as we know, we are talking about a sum of about €2.8 billion. This money was simply stolen from the Libyan people. The management of LIU intends to seek justice in the courts, and we sincerely hope that they will succeed, despite the fact that recently the theft of other people’s assets has become a common practice for Western countries.”

It is noteworthy that the so-called “European Legion,” being created in western Libya with the assistance of the United States, France, Italy and other partners, is being financed from Libyan funds frozen abroad in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1973 of 2011. The main goal of this unit is to counter the growing influence of the Russian Federation in African countries.

In addition, Copenhagen will strengthen its diplomatic “power” through diplomatic missions in Egypt, Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria and Ghana.

⭕ 🇪🇺 🌍 EU influence in North Africa is visibly weakening, with its place being taken by Russia, Turkey and others, says EU top diplomat

🗣 “We should be worried about what’s happening in Africa. When I first came to Brussels, the French and Italians were in Libya. They weren’t always in harmony, but they were present. Today, there are no Europeans left in Libya – only Turks and Russians,” EUobserver quoted EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell as saying.

Borrell criticized the decline of the EU’s influence in Africa, noting that there is no longer “the order” on the African coast of the Mediterranean that the Europeans tried to establish.

The portal noted that Turkey, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, as well as Russia have “stepped up” their work in the economic and political sphere with North African countries and other states of the continent. According to the top diplomat, the EU should counter their influence.

👉 Recently, the head of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, proposed the creation of the post of a Commissioner for the Mediterranean, thus pointing to the priority of developing EU relations with North African countries. Cyprus has already expressed interest in having its representative in the EC receive the new post.

South Africa’s Johan Rupert overtakes Dangote as Africa’s richest man

South African luxury goods magnate Johann Rupert has become Africa’s wealthiest person, overtaking Nigeria’s Aliko Dangote, who previously held the top position.

Rupert, 74, controls the world’s largest luxury watchmaker, Cie Financiere Richemont, through a family trust. This Switzerland-based company owns prestigious brands like Jaeger-LeCoultre and Cartier.

Manderson started this thread with Dangote.

According to the latest figures from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Rupert’s net worth has climbed to $14.3 billion, pushing him ahead of Dangote, whose fortune has dropped to $13.4 billion.

Dangote, who heads the Dangote Group, has seen his wealth shrink by about $1.69 billion this year. The decline is largely attributed to the difficult economic conditions in Nigeria, which have significantly affected his business empire.

In the rankings, South African billionaire Nicky Oppenheimer comes in third with a net worth of $11.3 billion. He is followed by Egyptian businessman Nassef Sawiris with $9.37 billion, while South African investor Natie Kirsh is fifth with $9.14 billion.

a new slick PC template has been rolled out for the restive youth.. prototypes packaged for the populace are seen here in Kenya and Senegal. But it ain’t gonna wash for long. Neocolonialism needs to produce, and quickly, and that is by definition a contradiction; one cannot expect a Vampire to become a considerate and humanitarian vegetarian. So it is foreseeable, as with our Sahelian Juntas — that a strongman will come to the fore and ditch western-style “democracy”. The Nigerian National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued public warnings, cautioning Nigerians against using a popular bar soap and certain drug products. The alerts were prompted by warnings from the countries where these products are manufactured.

NAFDAC said that the soap contains harmful chemicals that may affect reproductive organs, harm unborn children, and cause skin irritation. The products in question include Dove Beauty Cream Bar Soap, produced in Germany, and several unregistered drug products from the Philippines.

Iran, like Russia, both foolishly overcommitted to the West during the Unipolar moment, and sorely neglected former African ties.

They’re now furiously, almost manically, diversifying into this always friendly continent.

At the same time, they also wage asymmetrical socioeconomic war in response to the Drangs waged against them, through helping evict neocolonialism, denying the West easy Plunder of earth’s greatest store of natural resources, and vast markets which are projected to feature 7 of top 10 fastest growing economies.

The UN Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) withdrew its entire contingent from the country on November 15.

MINUSMA had more than 15,000 military and civilian personnel in the country. The organization in charge of the mission’s exit said several dozen international staff were still in Mali and would gradually leave by the December 31 deadline.

Malian authorities have demanded that the UN mission leave the country after ten years of presence, as, in their opinion, the peacekeepers were not providing a sufficient level of security in the country.

MINUSMA effectively ceased operations on 31 December 2023. However, some teams still remained in Mali to complete the mission.

      💠 @Sputnik Africa:
🇲🇱🇺🇳 MINUSMA’s page is definitely turned: UN mission completes its liquidation in Mali ahead of schedule

Today, the UN mission handed over its camp in Bamako, the last remaining piece of infrastructure, to the Malian transitional authorities.

Yesterday, Malian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdoulaye Diop met with the MINUSMA (United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali) liquidation team.

🗣 “The Malian and UN parties expressed satisfaction with the significant joint efforts that led to a shared success of this withdrawal and liquidation process, despite the challenges and issues involved,” the Malian Foreign Ministry stated.

The final deadline of the mission was initially set for December 31, 2024.

Established in 2013, MINUSMA ceased operations on December 31, 2023, following a request from the Malian authorities in June. Since then, the mission had no mandate and conducted no activities.

⭕ 🇺🇳🇲🇱 MINUSMA mission “had the objectives that did not correspond to the interests of the Malian people,” an expert says

The UN mission in Mali since 2013 (UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali – MINUSMA), which was wound up on November 15, “was not up to the task” and “completely failed”, the president of the Bloc for the recovery and development of Mali (BRDM) Oumar Mc Kone told Sputnik Africa.

MINUSMA once interfered with the Malian army to prevent it from retaking territories occupied by terrorists, jihadists and their nebulous groups, which was incomprehensible to the Malian people, the expert noted.

❌ The BRDM president also spoke of the international community’s lack of reaction to Kiev’s support for terrorism in the Sahel. He denounced the double standards of the West, which promotes the fight against terrorism but on the other hand supports those who support terrorism.
⭕ 🇺🇳🇲🇱 The end of MINUSMA: “Mali has shown that no one else can come in and guarantee its security,” an expert says

The withdrawal of the UN mission, which ended on November 15, could pave the way for a new political and security dynamic in the Sahel, the president of the Bloc for the recovery and development of Mali (BRDM) Oumar Mc Kone said in an interview with Sputnik Africa.

💬 “No country in the world will be able to come and defend Mali instead of Mali,” the speaker noted.

However, the Malian army has succeeded in an extraordinary way: “it has achieved in two years what foreign organizations, including MINUSMA, have not been able to achieve in 12-13 years,” Kone emphasized.

💬 “Gradually, Mali is pinning its hopes on itself, before anyone else, in order to achieve peace and stability, and this is a prerequisite for attracting investors to the country in the future, because they will find it safe, stable and secure,” he concluded.

⭕ 🇦🇺🇲🇱 Australian gold miner Resolute pays Mali an initial $80 million out of a total of $160 million over a tax dispute

“The protocol [a memorandum of understanding between the Malian government and the miner] also provides that all outstanding claims by the government against the company, including those related to tax, customs levies, maintenance and management of offshore accounts are settled,” Resolute Mining said in a statement.

Resolute has made an initial settlement payment of approximately $80 million to Mali’s government from existing cash reserves, with future payments of approximately $80 million to be made in the coming months, according to the statement.

➡️ The move follows more than a week of detention in Mali of the company’s CEO, Terence Holohan, and two of the company’s employees, who were in the capital, Bamako, for discussions with the country’s mining and tax authorities about Resolute’s operations in the country and to pursue unfounded tax claims against the company, the miner noted in a statement last Monday.

The Malian government is demanding $161 million from Resolute Mining, which operates the Syama gold mine, to settle a dispute primarily involving alleged back taxes, reports said.

⭕ 🇲🇱 Mali wins $160m in gold mining dispute after detaining British businessman

An Australian mining company, Resolute Mining, says it will pay Mali’s military government $160m (£126m) to settle a tax dispute, after the company’s British boss and two other staff were detained 10 days ago.

Reports say Terry Holohan and his colleagues were arrested while travelling to the capital city, Bamako, for what they were expecting to be routine negotiations.

Resolute, which owns a gold mine in Mali, said on Sunday it would pay $80m immediately from existing cash reserves, and the rest in the coming months.

Mali is one of Africa’s top gold producers and is seeking to extract a greater share of income from foreign operators in the sector.

It is not yet clear when the three Resolute employees will be released but part of the conditions for their release were that they must sign the memorandum of understanding and complete the initial payment, according to media reports.

Mali detained the three Resolute executives on charges of forgery and damaging public property, seen as an attempt to force the Australian company amid an ongoing state crackdown on foreign – mostly Western – mining companies in the West African country.

Last year, President Col Assimi Goïta signed into law a new mining code increasing the maximum stake for state and local investors from 20% to 35%.

[As we anticipated, the Sahelian Juntas were the canary in the mine – for alotta reasons. The British are heading the UNSC Presidency this month. They are behind the genocide in Sudan, along with vast hordes of mercs and various tribes organized and supported by the GCC (mostly UAE). Russia used its first veto for Sudan..

The hypocrisy is staggering. Whenever the hyenas cannot win a war, they resort to lawfare, UN sanctions, unilateral sanctions, organizing their neighbors against them, and/or economic siege. But all these “war by other means” tactics lose teeth in the bitter Interregnum.

⭕ 🇷🇺🇸🇩 Russia vetoes UK draft resolution on Sudan

On November 18, Russia used its veto power in the UN Security Council to thwart a British draft resolution on Sudan.

Sudanese diplomat to the UN Ammar Mahmoud said the Russian veto was the first on a draft resolution concerning Sudan. He stressed that resolving the current conflict requires full implementation of the Jeddah agreement and an end to what he called the UAE’s destabilizing support for the Rapid Reaction Force.

The British draft resolution, as Britain, which holds the presidency of the Security Council this month, wanted to show, called for “an immediate cessation of hostilities between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Reaction Force” and included “ensuring safe and unimpeded access for humanitarian aid, condemning crimes against civilians and calling on the parties to respect international humanitarian law.”

Dmitry Polyansky, explaining Russia’s vote against the project, stated that Russia agrees with all members of the Security Council on the need for an urgent resolution to the conflict in Sudan, and that the only solution to this problem is the agreement of the two warring parties to a ceasefire.

Polyansky added: “We believe that the role of the Security Council is to help (the two sides) achieve this, but this should be done in a consistent and open manner, and not by imposing on the Sudanese – through a Security Council resolution – the opinion of its individual members, imbued with a post-colonial tendency.

In turn, Sudanese media welcomed Russia’s decision to use its veto power, stating that “the draft resolution went beyond the country’s national priorities and did not even mention the UAE and its aggressive role in arming the Rapid Reaction Force.”

off the top of my head, first glance perusal:

central america, south america & africa have an interest & a stake in china’s proposed canal through nicaragua.  looking @ a map reveals the promise & possibilities opening for all 3.  the atlantic coast of africa has few deep water ports, ships must wait for smaller vessels to transfer goods.  the wealth & vast diversity of minerals & raw products is staggering & the urgency to devise a way & construct the infrastructure is obvious.   the niger river seems a probable/possible beginning.  the congo river may more require intense engineering logistically & structurally.

potentially, traffic from africa’s atlantic coast could on along their way to china deposit trade in brazil, & while off-loading pick up goods, then transit to bolivia & venezuela, do the same, although their will be traffic & tankers  in both devoted wholly to bolivia & venezuela, & then head for the nica canal, where on the pacific side it’s possible to connect with ships going or coming from peru’s chancay port.

Yes, I saw that. It was predictable. Ghana, Benin and Ivory Coast were others on the western coast of Africa also accused of serving as western outposts; like how Morocco serves against Algeria, or Rwanda against Congo, and Kenya/Somaliland in East Africa.

It is the ancient imperial divide and conquer, using the outpost on a convenient coastal territory to seed terrorism and hybrid wars against their region, especially further inland.

If one want to know who is the compradore villain whose territory is being used to harm the entire region — look for surprising calm, low-level prosperity, and dull-witted populace that spends its time on western lifestyle and whose elite veneer vacations near-exclusively in the West..

These are the Uncle Toms that work to collapse the entire region, like the PetroSheikhs or Turks for West Asia. The outsider profits from both sides who need endless supplies of arms and support to vacuum-extract resources and brains and labor from the region. It works on every continent.

However this old stale game requires military superiority, a superior MIC, significant technological lead, ignorance of most, and weak isolated targets. These have ceased to exist for the combined West, thoroughly exposed by 404 and Gaza…

Not only are the Sahelian Junta holding their ground, and retaking ground, the media, ISR, tech, weapons, C&C, cadre training and other incalculable support of the civilizational-states flow their way. The tale of Frenchie today calmly vacating a base in Chad says it all.

Nigeria is openly interested in BRICS. China is its top foreign investor. It sees the way the wind blows, and where future prosperity and power lies. Perhaps media exposure will be sufficient for them to close the western outposts in the same darkness in which they were built. Ghana was bleating the other day too.

The retreat off Afro-Asia, the World Island, is inexorable, steady and unidirectional. All the former coastal vassals are getting the memo….
