Thanks to archeon, please use this thread for prepping from lite to heavy.. Pl share advice, resources, practical stuff. No need to reinvent the wheel. Since the West started going off the rails in the late 1960s, there are so many useful authors, websites, video pages and channels, approaches and sub-genres, according to your locale (urban through rural, safe through dangerous, wealthy area through bare bones, isolated individualistic society through well-knit community..)

Or you could go Yemeni like me and go native, doing with bare essentials and counting on prayers and pluck, like most of the 85% Global Majority. Do you know how to squat on a hole, build a latrine or have an outhouse? Potatoes and a well? Cook bread from scratch by hand over bricks or iron as in Gaza? Design your kids’ diapers from repurposed materials at hand? Herbal medicine basics and know a local doc? Interesting times ahead when the grid goes off, the running water and the food truck deliveries stop..
      God bless!

      Survival, just the very basics.

Could you survive for the next 100 days with what you have stored in your home? Whether you think the possibility that you may need to is likely or unlikely, no sane person could claim that nuclear war or some other disaster could never happen. So here is the challenge, the power grid has gone down. As a result you have no piped water therefore no flush toilet, no showers, no communication, no job, no banking, no retail stores, no transport, no emergency services, no health services. Your city, town or village has stopped receiving food supplies, you live off what you have or you slowly starve.

Survival is not about retaining your existing lifestyle. The only things of real value in this situation are clean water, food, shelter and security. Even gold is worthless to a starving family.ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Here is a simple and inexpensive plan to make sure you will have at least food, heat, light and cooking.

Spaghetti, here is Scotland costs 33 pence per half kilogram for the cheap stuff, minimum wage per hour is about 40 times that, 20 kilograms for 1 hour basic pay, unbelievable. There are about 20 small portions in 1 kg of dry pasta, 20 kg = 400 portions. Buy dried beans, lentils, pasta sauce to go with it Throw in some cheap chocolate bars and a few tins of instant coffee. You will be malnourished after eating this diet for 100 days, but that beats starving.

Vegetable oil is cheaper than petrol, it will become your new best friend. It can be used for home made oil lamps and stoves, there are plenty of you tube videos on how to make them or you can just buy online. Vegetable oil is also high in calories and has a long shelf life. A small outlay now could be the difference between lighting an open fire where no fire should be safely lit with nothing to cook, or surviving.

Of course every ones circumstances differ, as AHH says there is plenty of information out there, for some people prepping involves moving from population centers and growing their own food. For most people this not feasible but they could accomplish the plan outlined above with adjustments for the size of their household, good luck.

      Survival of our species.

Homo Sapiens have survived for at least 300,000 years or 15,000 generations. The Southern tip of Africa has been continuously occupied for all that time and the Bushman tribes are the last of the “hunter gatherers” in this region. They have a rich oral history of how their ancestors lived although much has been lost or bastardized by missionaries. They would not do well in a Western IQ test, but then again we would not do well in theirs. We imagine they lived short brutish lives but that makes no sense. Children who have short brutish childhoods become emotionally, intellectually and physically stunted adults. How could such people spread to every continent using only stone tools?

The only reason to evolve with a brain capable of producing consciousness, intelligence and the ability to think deeply complex thoughts is if you are conscious, intelligent and thinking deeply complex thoughts. That brain requires 20% of our calories to function, no creature couldย  invest so much energy in something that was not paying rent. Why have a supercomputer between your ears if you are not using it to solve day to day problems? Every “primitive” tribe we know of has a far greater spiritual life than us, we call it superstition, scientists tell us that the Universe just appeared out of nothing. Archaic people knew of cause and effect, we are an effect for which there must be a cause, they called that cause god or the gods. They speculated endlessly on what the gods wanted from us and why there was something rather than nothing.

Our gut evolved and works best on a diet that is at least 70% plant based, this was the food most readily available to our ancestors. It was also the most easily processed and stored, there are no Homo Sapiens who do not store food for the lean times, it is what we do. Women had inherited a symbiotic relationship with plants from the Hominid’s. The plants attract animals who help spread their seeds, in return the animals get food. The bees pollinate the plants and the plants feed the bees. Herbivores eat young trees, killing them, this spreads the grasslands and the grass feeds the herbivores, it is how nature works. Our intelligence allowed us to take this relationship a step further, we aided our most useful plants by uprooting competing plants or some other cultivation method. Women did not wander around with a basket looking for something to eat, they had a calendar, knew where they were going and what ripe foods they would find there. At least 70% of our food and most of our medicine and cordage was collected by women, this gave them power within the tribe.

Good hunting or fishing territory was far less important than good gathering territory, it was women who decided where, and how, the tribe lived. It was women who controlled and allocated resources, they are the ones who controlled culture. That culture was formed from the important life lessons passed down through countless previous generation. Language, mating, resources, conflict resolution, stories, clothing, rituals, music, dance, everything is culture. We depend on the knowledge passed down because one generation could never learn on their own all the knowledge we need to survive.

The first farmers appeared 12,000 years ago and by 6,000 years ago more than half of us had adopted agriculture, for complex reasons this placed power in the hands of men. The peaceful Matriarchal tribes were pushed to evermore marginal lands by the far more aggressive farmers, a few still cling on but most perished. Our world wide experiment with science is about 15 generations old, we judge that this makes us far more intelligent than hunter gatherers. The future archaeologists, alien or some terrestrial species, who dig up our phones and bones may disagree. They will look at 95 % of our existence when we lived as a part of nature and the 5% when we lived apart from nature and conclude that modern humans are clever, ancient humans were wise.

We have invented most of our existential risks and our best brains work hard at improving their ability to extinct us . I work on a plan B, for any survivors who crawl out of the abyss, it is simple. Back to being a part of nature, leave women in charge, men have better things to do than telling everyone else what to do.

AHH, thank you for giving me a voice, you are a most gracious and tolerant host.

      Good idea this thread.

      Thoughts>

Remark the first 100 days is steep learning curve. You overnight may have become the hunted. Keep quiet. Expect bandits, gangs.

      Fires should be kept small.

Depending, fishing is quiet. Nets. Traps. Night-time. Everyone, and every sort, come to river. Beware. Upstream sewage treatment plants may not function…beware. Use nose.

Know and cultivate neighbors, with discretion. Some may be cops…and that may be a good or not good. If good, make friends.

Find local church you can coexist with, now. It’s a place to listen.

While doctor friend is nice, a veterinarian might be just as good, or, considering how many MD’s in zone A are believers in nonsense, possibly better. Many became vets, rather than MD, because of the silliness, I believe. Vets tend to keep a pharmacy, doc not so much.

Sewing. Possibly sewing up wound… make kit. Practice on dead meaty things from store.

Iodine (get a big jug @ farm supply). Prophylactic in bomb fallout, sterilize water, etc. Note, I will sublime through the (plastic) container wall, store I alone or it may damage adjacent materials. Keep cool to minimize sublimation.

hatchet. I’d like a framing hatchet, part hammer. Stone and file. Saw.

      Spade.

100 watts of solar pnl is lots better than zero, bring the bits together, charge controller, storage battery, a cheap VOM. Get it to work before the necessity arises. Harbor Freight sells a kit that would be ok.

Know local plants. Some give vitamin C… etc.

Left to do so, 100 days Anoxia no sweat.

Radio…listen, do not chatter. Receiver covering broad frequency range is good. Any transmissions will give away your position ๐Ÿ˜‰ย ย  2 meter (Ham band), CB (10 meter) and to “federal” 49? meter cheapo walkie talkies are nice, but may be dangerous to transmit.

Dogs may be good, and they are edible, and warm, and they make a ruckus that can be a life-saver.

Learn to set snares for small meaty critters, birds. Practice.

      Chickens may be appropriate.

Well hand pump. (if you can do,a solar well is a great machine)

Root crops are pretty safe from theft. Garden. Start now.

Gun? Maybe…don’t let it go to your head. Local sheriff may be a good fella to know, and if he decides to form a militia posse, you might get invited.ย  Very situational. Some sheriff are creeps, some are very good. Don’t waste ammo. Repeat. Even a trivial wound can be deadly. Don’t shoot accidentally. Repeat. Weapons make highly metastatic many outcome… use great caution.

Plenty soap. Wash. Brush teeth. Treasure vision. Use gloves. Get good footwear now, and a spare. Boric acid is cheap and low toxicity to mammal, deadly to insect.

For calculations, start now using pencil and paper, no calculator. Good for brain. If it hurts, well, it makes you smarter.

Make plan and practice it, as you would for a camping trip. Locate secondary hide, just in case.

I assume ‘net will stop. However the SDR site I previously wrote of http://www.websdr.org/ย  Might be a good and interesting sojourn while ‘net runs.

There are radio hams near you. Make a friend of them. They know a lot, and they’re sort of vetted, for the most part. They are resourceful. Many attend church ๐Ÿ˜‰

Let God speak to you. Listen.

Mr P, I wish you lived a little closer, while I will sit here in splendid isolation frustrated at the lack of information, you will be reaching out on your ham radio, connected to whoever remains.

As you say there may be bandits, but I fear hungry women and children more. The bandits will always find easier, safer pickings elsewhere, not sure I could refuse a hungry child. Not that there are many, all have fled to the bright lights for the jobs and excitement, perhaps they will return. We have an advantage on our Island, the coast is rich in edible seaweed and shellfish, every tide exposes a banquet if you know what to look for, few do but they can learn. Iodine, good tip that I will investigate andย  buy. My shed is twice the size of the house and of solid construction, plenty of space for all the dumb pieces of steel like hammers, axes, picks etc. Everyone else has been throwing them away and using power tools.

We have a stream 10 paces from the front door fed from foothills a mile or less away, for the first 100 years this stone cottage has stood here it was the only water supply, it should be enough. If you have not yet planted Russian comfrey may I recommend it? It has edible roots that reach down 8 feet and draws nutrients to the surface, I have planted hundreds, in an emergency they will keep us going and as you say root crops are less likely to be stolen.

My chickens are the ultimate scavengers, turning insects, weeds, kitchen waste and grain into eggs and meat, in a previous era every rural household had a few and when I lived in Africa I seen girls as young as 8 preparing them for the pot. They invariably made a stew with head, legs and gizzards all going in, nothing was wasted.

I have planted lots of willow for firewood although there are peat bogs at the bottom of the croft and that was the source of heat and cooking in these parts until quite recently. Old men have predicted catastrophe since god was a girl and mostly they were wrong, lets hope we are equally wrong. Pleased to meet you brother.

archeon, many thanks. Sounds like idyllic place!

Longtimeago, after the boat, we lived on a island farm – and in the old orchard lived a plague of insects, generations fattened from dropped fruit…and we lightly fenced the zone and got 100 india runner ducks… It was a great adventure. They’re most comical, and lay large wonderful eggs…and the insect plague was solved. We were a test zone for the ag university boffins, and some terrible wasp or worm was “threatening” the vineyards, and the only place it was not found? Yup! We never used any pesticides…very cool farm, 65 acres, peat river loam, infinite water, and a small lake…otter were to be seen at night, big fellows, and messy. But cute!

Then we moved to a mountain…big adventure. Thence to Anoxia.

We have a much smaller digs now, but there’s a salmon stream in walking distance, and a beautiful river – access somewhat limited, but free to launch a boat, Deer get hit on the road, and raccoon…bears and lions back in the hillsย  (I know!) and dangerous swine, and our friend Mr Coyote. Bald eagles nest within a few miles. Our hens have never been bothered, so there must be lots of food for the wild critters. There are a few dairy cows kept by neighbors. Goats and sheep. Alfalfa grows happily hereabouts. Ranchers run cattle, cow-calf usually, further up the slope on somewhat rocky ground, and after that it’s miles of nature reserve…rugged canyons…with scheduled curated hikes, and open for deer season. And the Country is not overly populated, most people here are third generation, some families go back to the 1850’s. So fairly congenial, and reputation counts. They tell me, though, that the standards have fallen since the 1960’s in these here parts. We took the advice from Voltaire, to retire to mind our own garden… Quakers sometimes say “in the world but not of it”… well, that’s a nice goal anyways… but that’s sorta where we are in the phase of life. Pretty much stay home and study the freak show, and neglect building projects, or dawdle and go slowly… Mrs P bakes a lot, and is master of garden zone. Two old motorbikes running, mostly, but seldom ridden for more than a few miles. Fun though.

      Best! P

Emersonreturn, if the worst happens young women will be the ones who will give birth to a new reality and young people are just not very wise, as we were unwise at that stage in life. With age comes experience which leads to wisdom of a sort, at least to a few, as I see it you are one of those few. How would you guide those young women who find themselves adrift in a world where all moral and social landmarks have been swept away?

We can assume that survivors have mastered the basics of food and shelter, but then what? Religion, Socialism, Communism, Capitalism, Egalitarianism, Monarchy, think of the possibilities. They will have a clean slate to write a future for their children unburdened by the old order. How will they recognize wisdom if theyย  themselves have not yet acquired the wisdom of experience?

Do not be in such a hurry to rush out the door, even if they will not listen to the voice of experience as we did not listen at that age. Still there were voices of experience and wisdom who understood and found a way to plant seeds in young minds, that is the proof of wisdom. Those seeds germinated in our minds when we were ready to understand the message, now it is our turn to replant seeds. We can not send a message back to our younger selves but I think we owe it to ourย  species to leave a trail of breadcrumbs that others may follow. Your best years may yet lay ahead of you.

Ah, well, hamradio… It’s been more than a decade since the key was pressed. I have nothing much to say, the customs there do not abide, much, my voice. But the scene is a fine arena to grasp the Weltanschauung Popular, and I have a small interest. I am sorry to say that the general species of technicalfolkamaricanus are in thrall to mythic delusions of chauvinistic cryptofascist character. Not much point in talking. Nice people, functionally delusional. (that may change!) There are “nets”, though, and these “meet” on schedules, and are worth listening to for practice. If, in emergency, an “Hey mom I’m ok!” needed sending by radio relay, the local hams will do it. Keep your traffic brief and unambiguous, and use simple words. There are radio-relay customs and forms, the fellers practice by sending weather, or whatever.

About receivers though… read the reviews, nice general coverage portable (size of a book, maybe paperback book). It’s a good feature to have an option of a long long wire antenna…which does not really need to be “long”…it can be coiled ’round plastic pipe. There are tutorials on line. Nice to include the AM aircraft band, which many do not.

100 bucks ought to be enough. The 100 watts of solar is the key to recharging batteries in lights and radio. Most Chinese walkie talkies have feature flashlight. Nice Li type batteries too.

Oh! Yes! The battery packs from hand tools… our Amish brothers use these in creative ways, as buggy light power, and so forth. Rechargers run on mains voltage so>

A little battery PbO type 50 bucks, a little inverter to mains voltage and frequency – well, cheap. I found one for 50 cents at junk store. new maybe 30 bucks for a 100 watts, which is enough, I guess.

Electric lights at night are very safe and nice.

Just thinking on basic “5 element” situations…salt is a good material, cheap now. Note the several types, sodium, potassium, that matters. If you have a bit of electric power and water and salt you can make bleach, which is very useful. NaOH (lye) is another “salt” of great protean use. old time commie kerosene radio… http://mt-shortwave.blogspot.com/2020/07/kerosene-powered-radio-receiver.html

If wheat or grain crops are nearby, meet the fella you met at church or the bar or the Cafe…Mr Farmer with his combine in field with cash and food grade airtight drum in pickup. $100 buys a lot of grain in the field. Your hens will like the grain, or you can make soup, bread, or simply boil.

Mr P, this old laptop has a deep dent across the keyboard, the base is distorted and wobbles although it still works despite constantly warning me that windows 7 is no longer supported. Childish tantrums are my usual response to technology that does not instantly obey my commands, my wife holds her smartphone to show me stuff lest the screen flip flops and I break it. Hammers, chisels, picks and shovels I understand, technology I leave to intelligent fellows like you, I do wish you lived closer.

Last seasons potato’s were my most successful yet although the cabbages etc were eaten by slugs of which we have a plague. I bought 5 ducks and have 2 left, as you say they are very efficient at pest control. Each evening they lay eggs and eat the food left out but otherwise I never see them, I will get another 5 this year and try to stop them from going feral. Every morning I have duck eggs for breakfast, all attempts at drying chicken eggs into powder have failed so far, my wife gives them to ladies with whom she has lunch. It is May before the ground is warm enough for planting most crops, I have plenty of time to think of chores I should do but won’t.

Your lifestyle sounds like The American Dream, not the commercialized version, the one people have always yearned for, a place to breathe and dream and grow, as you say, to watch the freak show without being sucked into it. Even the motorcycles, bald eagles, deer, bears and lions, Salmon streams and Beaver, open season for hunting, miles of nature reserve, rugged canyons, We read about it in books, watched the movies, listened to the music as we huddled in our over crowed cities, thank you for sharing that. It pleases me to know that there are Americans like yourself who still live the dream, it receives so little attention in the media, all is consumed with the freak show.

For decades farming here was about chasing EU subsidies and trying to follow endless new regulations, the result is appalling, I have not seen a field of grain or a combine harvester for years. There is far more money to be made from a few accommodation pods or a spare bedroom on Air bnb.

Of my few neighbors one went to Poland for her sons wedding another to Russia, both in the last few months and both young couples are back here, one girl is pregnant and the other is trying. A Russian women with 3 kids came here to marry a local boy who died on her a year later. She stayed, learned English, worked minimum wage jobs, slept on a couch and rented out her bedroom to tourists and put the children through university. Last year she bought a house to let out and is planning to buy another, it is her son who married in Russia and who’s wife is pregnant. We have immigrants from Pakistan, Eastern Europe, Asia, all over, they are like a breath of fresh air.

It’s pretty frugal.ย  And I am no longer competent technically, I can muddle along. Still weld pretty well, do metal fab, machine repair, electrical to near code (!)… got a new gadget for radio, and it’s a mental challenge, what’s called “NANO-VNA”… a sort of antenna and feedline measuring thingie. Hurts my head.

What’s terrible is the scene beyond the zone… I have a Checkpoint Charley work of art, in oil on canvas, big too, and, inspired, am considering erecting a proper, “YOU ARE LEAVING THE AMERICAN SECTOR” Bill-board … but I won’t. It would upset the locals. btw these locals put faith in Trumpie… They seem, I think, to imagine that Time can be reversed. We exist on an island actually, just, but politically or figuratively. And sometimes wars pass over places like Anoxia… Father said much the same of a hill-town in Hesse, longtimeago. But they were all dead.

To-day we had a wonderful wind storm with brief periods of heavy rain, and a limb of the ol orange tree broke. Mrs P wanted that tree gone anyway…now for old fella and chain saw…this is gunna hurt, arthritis an’ all of that… Maybe tomorrow I’ll take a shot at it. ๐Ÿ˜‰ A little every day…

We survey a sad and terrible scene from a so-far nice place by, near, the river… Old fellas with grey beards, (I am a ringer for Comrade Dugan (!) but a bit older)…and do not encounter much (any) difficulties ’round these here parts. That said, we mostly stay home. The cop radio suggests that the poverty, dope, and atomization of morals has manifest as an increase in violence in the zone of “greater metropolitan Anoxia”, but, so far, the cops still manage to find and return stolen bicycles… We are blessed with good luck in our choice of venue…the previous mountain was nice, but became lawless. Nevertheless we shall always be refugees from the Southern California we once knew. The old one with the proper Constitution… and nearly no laws, nor many prisoners.

Regrettably, there is no door into the past, into the summer. Still, the girls are pretty, and dogs laugh, the slumbering cats are beautiful, and the sun rises with the dawn.

      Best! P

      Survival and Civilization.

AHH used the term “civilizational suicide” and whether we do or do not commit some great act of collective suicide,ย  undoubtedly we have the means to do so. For all or most of our lives we have lived under the threat of nuclear annihilation without the collective wisdom to disarm ourselves. For every dollar spent on peace we spend a thousand on bigger bombs and better delivery systems.

CRISPR gene editing has the power to help many, but it also turns bio-weapons into a cottage industry as barriers such as training, access to equipment, and costs make the science more accessible. There are 440 nuclear reactors in the world, who will maintain them if civilization collapses or will they all pop like Fukushima? AI or a computer virus that wipes out everything connected to the internet, Loss of national electricity grids, etc, there are now multiple threats to civilization. These threats are like a circle of domino’s, it does not matter which falls first, eventually it will knock over all the others.

We are such a clever species that we can weaponize any innovation and are so competitive that we invariable do so. As a species we walk around with a loaded pistol aimed at our head, this is insane. We have become an insane species. If we discovered an alien species with enough weapons aimed at themselves to wipe them out we would know that their future is likely to be a short one. For 75 years we have only increased our ability to destroy ourselves with no serious attempt to step back from the abyss

Cleverness is the ability to take the energy contained in an atom and unleash its destructive power, wisdom is knowing that this is not a good idea. When civilization collapses we would be bloody fools to start another before learning to discover which ideas are merely clever and which are wise.

In “kerosene” lamps the light is almost white, and fairly bright, and the fuel rate is we shall say “one fuel unit per hour”. The somewhat more viscous “diesel” burns at rate < one, however it is slightly yellow, and leaves a friable deposit on the wick. Sometime the pump diesel is cheaper and easier to get than kerosene. Note, there are regional and seasonal formulations for fuels, I speak only of my own observation at zone west.

Mr P, you keep coming up with these interesting tips which I write in my book of things worth writing down, kerosene lamps and a supply of fuel will be on my shopping list, thank you.

About half of the incomers who settle on our island leave within 3 years, many others sold homes in expensive areas, bought cheap here, spent the profits and can no longer afford to go back. Mid winter we barely get 6 hours of sunlight, the wind rattles the roof slates more often than not, we do not get much snow because of the gulf stream, instead we get rain, rain, rain. In the summer we get midges, small biting insects that drive everyone indoors. there is also the plague of RVs, great lumbering beasts with inexperienced drivers whoย  think letting anyone pass them on our single track roads would diminish their manhood. My wife goes out twice a week for her craft club or lunch with friends the rest of the time we hibernate, not sleeping but self contained. Everything we need to be content is this side of the gate.

At the bottom of the croft there is the ruins of an old German Monastery, much raided by Vikings in the old days, or so the story goes. There are ruined castles, brocks, (stone towers) and ancient deserted villages where the peasants were herded onto ships bound for America or Australia. Their descendants come to see where some great, great grandparent came from and find their roots.

My wife and I both have family connections here and spent long and carefree school holidays swimming in the frigid waters and exploring the rock pools , her father grew up less than a mile from away. Life is good.

Dear Emerson, is that Swedish “good crowd”

Or the old fortress. It strikes me as metaphorical as well as true. Noun and Verb. Good!

I used to keep a list of names for boats, names like Muckle Flugga…Ghostcard…Willie Sutton…and so on. Scandalously jotted in the back of some navigation text… I suppose it’s around here somewhere.

Of the Scottish, grand dad might have been a Scott of the Quaker inclination, even Ohio born. I remember the soft accent from his poetry, though I was very young. Granny was also of the Scottish lines, she kept tartans, much lost with her.

      ……………………..

Archeon my brother, stock wicks, they are difficult to weave. Even fish oil…

Our seasons are as Twain said, wet and dry, with spring and fall lasting about 2 weeks…and in the wet, it’s hunker down and read, study, bake, sew, with brief walks with the dogs and cats… yes, the cats – raised all together the kitties see us as mom and dad, and walk along with us and the dogs, which is probably normal in history of our species and theirs. The workshop roof leaks just enough, and the cold intrudes more than enough, that projects just about stop. I’ve an old harley motorbike that’s been “under repair” for maybe 3 years out there! And parts laid out under tarps, and a big welding project with pipe, which means lots of shaping the bits and getting things dead on…and it’s a small shop… Working on roof in Summer is too hot, and in Winter too cold and wet, and old fella wants to avoid falls… but I did buy some coating… maybe in our 2 week Spring…

Treasure Island was, iirc, written in the wet, in a small cabin.

Meantime the inflation… Just about as expected. And I didn’t expect to get this old. We manage rather well, with increasing frugality.

      ……..

We have a somewhat similar phenomenon, people sell and are deceived by their beliefs and ambitions and whims (and ubiquitous grifters) to spend unwisely…easy to do in cruel and rapidly changing, deception filled, field of view.

As Orlov said, people wind up living in their vehicles. Later on they’re sleeping rough.

If not for Mrs P I suppose I’d be living on a boat in the river delta, but these digs are better. I am domesticated. This is disconcerting for me.

      ………………..

As a child I swam in the icy surf of Monterey Bay, later, as an adult, I did qualification dives there. I know cold water!ย  And in placid realms gunkholing in Maine, as well.ย  And sailing small boats, even paying out a line and letting the boat tow a naked boy through the wild sea. Seems miraculous that I’m not dead, probably is.

      ………………..

      Blessing to all y’all!

Mr P, cats, arthritis and women who have domesticated us, we have so much in common although I envy your time in boats, somehow I never got around to fulfilling that dream. About 8 or 9 years ago I went to the doc for more powerful painkillers and came out with an opioid addiction. Our generation trusted doctors, we were like lambs to the slaughter, as the opioids destroyed our minds they loaded us up with sleeping tablets or antidepressants to mask the symptoms, all the while denying that their prescriptions were causing the problem. About 1 in 3 UK residents are on, or have been on psychotropic prescription drugs including many children. Many of the rest take recreational drugs including booze, how did we come to this?

I have been clean for about 4 years, I have not had a drink since 20, drugs never interested me although weed helped with addiction and I still have a joint right before bed, it helps with the pain. I have not been to see a doctor since, obviously I did not take their COVID jabs although if I broke a leg or something simple, well they have a monopoly on healthcare, it is illegal for vets to treat humans. We buy drugs like cortizone (for psoriasis and other autoimmune conditions)ย  direct from India and will build up a stock of antibiotics and other common drugs by this method although it is illegal.

Enough gloom and doom, what a privilege it is to be alive at this moment in history, to have the internet, to absorb the information it brings, to communicate with interesting folk from the world over and discuss events of the day. To read the good literature, watch the sunrise on mars or exchange tips on survival, witness this Existential Clash of Civilizations or listen as deep thinkers discuss free will. To endlessly speculate about who or what created this universe and why, do we die and awaken in some other reality, or not. What else would we do with life except be astonished at the sheer awesome knowledge that there is something rather than nothing. How are these few billion cells in our head producing consciousness, questions to which we will never know the answer, life is good.

Sometimes men, pirates, brigands, fiends, may come at night and steal, or murder. At night, many time,s they wish to sneak around in bare feet… So? So> Carpet tacks. Add nice magnet to facilitate picking them up as needed. Thanks to Joshua Slocum. Speaking of boats and books… Slocum’s writing stands as a particularly fine example. Indeed, copying in longhand and learning his style until it’s natural was one of my early lessons…though I did not confine to Slocum, but worked such exercises with several authors. Plumber’s The Boy, Me, and the Cat is also a good subject for learning style, voice, and precis. Bother authors tell great story of not so long ago.

Mr P, I see in another post you have fallen for the carpenter propaganda, as a 4th + generation bricklayer allow me to set the record straight Emersonreturn mentions Scara Brae, 5,000 years old and still standing, the Pyramids, castles, cathedrals and the old structures of antiquity were all built by Stone masons/bricklayers. Until quire recently bricklayers would set out a building, dam, canal, aqueduct or whatever, lay the foundations and build the superstructure, then we would allow the carpenters to do the unskilled work of roofs, doors and windows etc. They would not even have the steel for their tools if we had not invented kilns and furnaces in which to produce iron (my specialty). Even glass has a melting point higher than steel and must be contained in brick.

The free masons piggybacked on our success and appropriated our trowels, hammers and measuring tools as part of their cult because we were so successful. Ever since Noah (a carpenter) built that ark the carpenters have been running this propaganda that they saved the world. But I ask you, where is that ark today? If they had built it out of stone or brick it would still be around. Carpenters have always had this inferiority complex because stonemasons/bricklayers are the oldest profession, suggestions that we used our wages to get drunk and pay for the services ofย  the 2nd oldest profession have never been proven true. I hope this sets the record straight.

Ah! I thank you kindly. A rambling apology> Well stated. But we probably agreed anyway…the millers and millwrights book I referenced from 1866 has plenty of masonry and stone, even to shaping millstones, and millrace and foundations. I am sorry that I said carpentry was basic. You’re right, it’s stone work of course, and let’s not forget the stone knives and spearpoints and fish hooks, awls, and kits, scrapers, etc. And the proper slingshot! I can only claim that I had in mind the full scope of what the old time wrights knew and did, and they did stone. At one time I was quite familiar with a very old time foundry, hand hewn timbers of old growth ceder, tenoned joints to avoid expensive metal, stone cripple walls set deep, dirt floors, much of the machine tools were cast there. It’s so obvious that everything starts with stone. The old foundry was built by a carpenter, according to legend, and he with some fellas did a good foundation, in native stone. Later work did include some portland cement, after they built a lime kiln. It was electrified about 35 years into existence… now I am the last living of that last crew, and of course the place is ghostly and silent…my apprenticeship, one might say. There’s a joke about foundrymen. They all go to Heaven…’cause they been to Hell already. It was a very tough job. I was very young, old enough to sit on a jury though.

Oh, a thought, “stone” includes mining, hematite for example, or malachite. Your criticism is well founded. No offense intended.

BTW Primo Levi’s Periodic Table has a fine story with respect to galena. All of those stories are very fine. Another deals with mining asbestos and attempting to tease out some trace metal, zinc perhaps… Thinking of rock sprites and Kobolds… and dynamite, and steam drills… If in Leadville visit the mining museum! And iirc the molybdenum mine head is below sea level. ( the head is maybe 10,000 feet above sea level)

      Survival and food hoarding.

In times of food rationing food hoarding becomes a crime. No matter that you stocked up in times of plenty and likely advised others to do the same, your food hoard becomes a resource for the community who did not take precautions and they will pass laws and confiscate any “excess” food they find. Neighbors will be encouraged to spy on one another, committees will go door to door asking how much food, fuel and medicine you have. In the UK during WW2 people were prosecuted for giving milk to cats, 2 million pets were culled 750,000 in one week alone because there was not enough food to feed everyone much less pets. I agree that great effort and sacrifice is required in troubled times, a community effort will always produce greater benefits than every man for himself. If my house is on fire I expect help from the community as I wouldย  help others.

However I have no intention of following everyone else as they jump from the edge into the abyss. Let them have what you have in your kitchen, never let them even suspect that you have a secret stash and defend it with your life if you have to.

Useful cheap and available chemicals… which store nicely long time.

      Wood rot method. Materials.

Rot happens of course. There are many strategies to manage or prevent or slow (or speed up!) our tiny little fungal friends’ behavior. Some favor one wood over another, they dislike char, and some ways of poisoning the wood. Among these several are also toxic to people and critters… Our Great Leaders (believe the science kiddies! (an oxymoronic demand if ever one was!)) make up stupid stories about one thing or another…and then protect us by making useful wood rot preventative materials either prohibited or prohibited to the people who haven’t a spendy “permit”. Very amusing. And profitable usurious.

Anyway> Note that propylene glycol is safer and works just as well. And note that the process gets hot above the flash point of the reagent boiling liquid… There is real prospect of an unintended ignition… Chemistry has its own ideas, sometimes….and does not abide delusions. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m saying don’t do stupid stuff and get hurt… Don’t inhale don’t burn down the digs. Don’t do this inside… Ok, don’t do it. I am also saying it’s easy and it’s safe enough for my standards…which are pretty high.

WOOD ROT SOLUTION BORON BORIC ACID ETHYLENE GLYCOLย  Equivalent to Bora-Careยฎ

Prepare the concentrate: (USE FUME HOOD ETC or work outside, duh.)

(FIRE HAZARD! ABOVE FLASH POINT, AVOID IGNITION! )

Mix 1 Gallon glycol antifreeze, 4 1/2 pounds borax, 3 1/2 pounds boric acid.
Mix the ingredients and heat till boiling gently. Boil off water until a candy thermometer shows 260ยฐF. This removes most of the water of crystallization in the borax.
This solution is stable at 40ยฐF and has a borate content of 26%. This is equivalent to Bora-Careยฎ at about $90/gal. for the concentrate. The concentrate must be diluted with an equal volume of water before being applied.

(process takes about 3 hours, and the MUST BE LEFT TO COOL…adding water to dilute while it’s hot can flash to steam…and cause serious injury, blindness, death, and upset people a lotย  –ย  Let the product cool.

Application: Add 1 gallon of water to every gallon of concentrate and stir thoroughly until solution is completely uniform. Always use diluted within 24 hours after mixing. If kept for longer periods of time, the active ingredient can drop out of the solution.

Note: is toxic to plants and shrubbery; if necessary, cover plants, root systems and surrounding soil with plastic to avoid contamination. Apply only to bare wood. Remove any finish or water repellent coating before applying . Wood surfaces should be free of dirt and other contaminates. Apply diluted by spray or brush to all exposed wood surfaces. It may occasionally be necessary to apply more than one coat of to attain the recommended application rate. This is especially true for larger, smooth surfaced wood members. Wood surfaces should be allowed to dry for at least 2 hours between applications. Do not apply in the rain or snow. If inclement weather is expected, protect exposed treated surface with a plastic tarp for at least 24 hours after treatment. One gallon of concentrate will treat up to 800 board feet of wood. Only diluted should be applied to any wood surface. Prior to application, check wood surfaces for an existing water repellent finish by spraying a small amount of water onto the surface of the wood or logs. If the water beads up or is not absorbed into the wood, a finish is present which must be removed before applying the diluted solution.

      ENDE http://alsnetbiz.com/homeimprovement/homemade.html

Note that it’s best to make up a soaking bath in a restricted zone where kitties and critter won’t lap up the sugary solution…and “petrify” the wood. Better still place weighted and submerged in vacuum tank… which is not very hard to rig with stuff from Harbor Freight, and useful all by itself for a multitude of purposes. Do not foul the pump.

Prepping might include getting the stuff to do the above, if needs must in uncertain future… maybe you’ll never have a rot problem, eh?ย  Options can be very nice. Better than money sometimes.

Other useful chemicals Lye, both sodium and potassium chloride, the latter is at the auto parts fella for melt ice mo better… read labels. It’s said that “uncle fester fella” wrote a how-to pamphlet on … well, don’t do any of that stuff. Just don’t.

There are YT videos of people brewing up the borated glycol.

Disodium Octaborate Tetrahydrate is supposed to be the product, fwiw.

      Stay safe.

About radio… the louder the volume the greater the power consumption. That ought to be obvious. (it’s not obvious to some people) Use the lowest audio that’s clear to your ears, and use headphones – even better. (and more confidential!)

Also obvious is the necessity to stay non-credulous about content. Nazis lie as easily as they breath…

In the example of transmitting a signal, use the lowest power that works… the Baofeng UV-5 (recommended, and really astonishing!), for example, has two power settings.

Transmitting is often not a good idea. If necessary, keep transmission as brief as possible.

Do not violate the laws related to transmission. Better study and take the tests the State demands… until chaos – after that, well, the nazi cops will be (probably) too busy “putting out fires”, so to say, to bother with you…I hope.

UV-5ย  > A pair with 4 batteries, chargers, good antennas, ear piece and mic is less that 40 dollars… and it gets commercial FM broadcast, has a flashlight feature, and will scan as well as open the ham radio repeaters (you’ll perhaps hurt your head programming the repeater codes into the radios, ask the kid to do it ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) ย  In war, when it comes to your zone, do not expect the repeaters to function.

      Good luck helps a lot.

      about wicks… see wet chromatography

A shallow wicked lamp with diesel fuel works pretty well, but kerosene works better and gives a brighter light. A deep draw from a larger lamp with a tall “tank” will change the flame size as the diesel fluid can’t climb the wick so well as kero. As the fuel burns the flame gets less, of course, the capillary action…the wick acting as a wet strip chromatographic differentiator. This is mostly trivial with kerosene. More significant with the larger molecule with more carbons, as with diesel. Neh, keep it full and it doan matter much.

117 pages of nazi leadership against the USSR

We recall the alignment of purpose between the nazi armies of Europe and the English and the American Armies with respect to the destruction of the USSR and the reduction thereof to a depopulated set of colonial outposts for plunder.

Recently such goals have been repeated in the zone deceptively called “the west”.

Accordingly, therefore, it is with considerable interest that we read the following:

      PREFACE

This pamphlet was prepared for the Historical Division,
European Command, by a group of former German generals and
general staff officers. The names of the contributors are not announced at this time. The principal author, who by the end of
the war had attained the rank of full general
served on the Eastern Front throughout the Russian campaign
and the subsequent retreat into the northern plains of Germany.
He was successively commander of an infantry brigade, of a
panzer division from November 1941 to February 1943, and of
two different corps in the battles for Kharkov and Belgorod
during 1943. Appointed commander of a panzer army on 1 December 1943, he participated in the withdrawal in the south
until the Germans reached the Carpathians. In August 1944 he
was transferred to Army Group Center, and his last assignment
was with Army Group Weichsel. During this final phase of his
military career he played an important part in the retreat from
      Lithuania, East Prussia, and Pomerania.
The reader is reminded that all publications in the GERMAN
REPORT SERIES were written by Germans from the German point
of view and that the procedures of the German Army differed
considerably from those of the United States Army. Authorized
German tables of organization and equipment, official German
combat doctrine, or standard German staff methods form the
basis for improvisations throughout this pamphlet. As prepared
by the authors, this study consisted of a collection of 157 examples of improvisations which were screened by the editors for
pertinence, clarity, and interest to the American reader. Moreover, an attempt was made to establish common denominators
for the great variety of examples. Although the manuscript was
completely reorganized during this editorial process, every effort
was made to retain the point of view, the expressions, and even
      the prejudices of the authors.

My chemistry ‘speriment, a probably useful, cheap, and effective insecticide more or less nontoxic to mammals (note, the isopropanol is toxic, it’s “rubbing alcohol”. (No drinkie, and transdermal absorption does happen… go figure! Why they call it rubbing alcohol remains an open question)

      everything is overthecounter cheap

at room temperature, no flames, don’t smoke. Wash your hands.

      borax 3 gm

      Boric acid 9 gm

vodka (40% ethanol, 60% water) about 400 gm

Rubbing alcohol 70% isopropanol 30% water about 400 gm

The mix of boric acid and borax increases solubility

Put it all in a squeeze bottle, an old quart rubbing alcohol plastic bottle will do. That’s what I used.

Shake it for a few minutes, Hold it up to the light and observe “snow” settling, Shake some more. Repeat until no “snow”, ie all dissolved. Squirt into insect crevices and so on. Ants roaches earwigs and so forth cannot long survive. The water and alcohols are simply carriers, upon evaporation the stuff remains deep in dark insectiverous lairs and continues to work. That said, the alcohols probably are paralytic to the (formerly) happy little fellers.

Shelf life probably years. No let freeze. Keep away from children. (ya never can tell what they’ll do)

We use it for ants in the kitchen. In hot weather the little guys move inside… and it’s hot!

Both boax and boric acid are flame retardant and with that much water it’s very unlikely to ignite. Still, keep away from flame. Don’t smoke, wash your hands.

It is a ‘speriment though. Better ‘n raid, imho. Dunno about lice or bedbugs…maybe? We must ask the Frenchies!ย  Hello Paris?ย

Not “prepping”, more general. “Climatic consequences of the process of saturation of radiation absorption in gases”ย  Don’t let that stop you though, it’s significant. It exposes, I think, more of the theatrics of what Fauci tried to make people believe. Science it not iconic truth, but a process of inquiry moving toward wisdom. It is fundamentally twinned with doubt. (Fauci actually said “I am science” – rather over-egging the absurd idea.) By the way, my own opinion is that the claims of fascists who are known to lie as they breathe, who lie naturally,ย  cannot be, must not be,ย  believed.ย ย

      Applications in Engineering Science
      Volume 17, March 2024, 100170

      Abstract>

This article provides a brief review of research on the impact of anthropogenic increase in atmospheric CO2 concentration on Earthโ€™s climate. A simplified analysis of resonant radiation absorption in gases is conducted. Building upon the material from the cited articles, theoretical and empirical relationships between radiation absorption and the mass of the absorbing material are presented. The concept of saturation mass is introduced. Special attention is given to the phenomenon of thermal radiation absorption saturation in carbon dioxide. By comparing the saturation mass of CO2 with the quantity of this gas in Earthโ€™s atmosphere, and analyzing the results of experiments and measurements, the need for continued and improved experimental work is suggested to ascertain whether additionally emitted carbon dioxide into the atmosphere is indeed a greenhouse gas.

“…The mean age of death was 70.4 years. The most implicated organ system

respiratory (11%), and multiple organ systems (7%). Three or more organ systems
were affected in 21 cases. The mean time from vaccination to death was 14.3 days.
Most deaths occurred within a week from last vaccine administration. A total of
240 deaths (73.9%) were independently adjudicated as directly due to or

      Abstract
Observable real-time injuries at the cellular level in recipients of the โ€œsafe and effectiveโ€ COVID-19 injectables are documented here for the first time with the presentation of a comprehensive description and analysis of observed phenomena. The global administration of these often-mandated products from late 2020 triggered a plethora of independent research studies of the modified RNA injectable gene therapies, most notably those manufactured by Pfizer and Moderna. Analyses reported here consist of precise laboratory โ€œbench scienceโ€ aiming to understand why serious debilitating, prolonged injuries (and many deaths) occurred increasingly without any measurable protective effect from the aggressively, marketed products. The contents of COVID-19 injectables were examined under a stereomicroscope at up to 400X magnification. Carefully preserved specimens were cultured in a range of distinct media to observe immediate and long-term cause-and-effect relationships between the injectables and living cells under carefully controlled conditions. From such research, reasonable inferences can be drawn about observed injuries worldwide that have occurred since the injectables were pressed upon billions of individuals. In addition to cellular toxicity, our findings reveal numerous โ€” on the order of 3~4 x 106ย per milliliter of the injectable โ€” visible artificial self-assembling entities ranging from about 1 to 100 ยตm, or greater, of many different shapes. There were animated worm-like entities, discs, chains, spirals, tubes, right-angle structures containing other artificial entities within them, and so forth. All these are exceedingly beyond any expected and acceptable levels of contamination of the COVID-19 injectables, and incubation studies revealed the progressive self-assembly of many artifactual structures. As time progressed during incubation, simple one- and two-dimensional structures over two or three weeks became more complex in shape and size developing into stereoscopically visible entities in three-dimensions. They resembled carbon nanotube filaments, ribbons, and tapes, some appearing as transparent, thin, flat membranes, and others as three-dimensional spirals, and beaded chains. Some of these seemed to appear and then disappear over time. Our observations suggest the presence of some kind of nanotechnology in the COVID-19 injectables.

      Ok, why?ย

United Nations (UN) and World Health Organization (WHO) personnel have been granted โ€œcomplete immunityโ€ by the Australian government to force vaccinate Australian citizens on Australian soil.

The Australian government recently amended the 1995 Criminal Code Act to update the immunity enjoyed by UN personnel on Australian shores, including the right to perform โ€œdefenceโ€ and โ€œmedical proceduresโ€ on citizens with or without consent.

As a UN mandated agency, the WHO personnel are set to enjoy the same legal privileges on Australian soil under the amended legislation.

The amendment was made on 1 August 2024 and can be seen by searching for โ€œUnited Nationsโ€ on the Australian governmentโ€™s legislation page.

covid crisis and mind you all of the
      0:04
words here need caveats I do believe
      0:08
that there was a pathogen SARS K2 I do
      0:13
not believe that we had anything that
      0:15
would by the prior definition be called
      0:18
a pandemic I do not believe it was
      0:21
      inherently an
      0:23
emergency but nonetheless these are the
      0:26
      terms we use the covid
      0:28
pandemic was something kind of emergency
      0:31
      we were delivered something wrongly
      0:33
      called
      0:35
      vaccines we
      0:37
      were propagandized into avoiding
      0:40
off-patent drugs that really did work
      0:44
      and
      0:45
so uh and you know we made our situation
      0:48
vastly worse we locked down which
      0:51
injured people we put masks on children
      0:56
      which literally disrupted their Norm
      0:59
      noral developmental
      1:02
      processes we kept vaccinating and
      1:05
revaccinated which has created an entire
      1:08
landscape of Adverse Events and early
      1:12
deaths which we are still not being
      1:14
      honest
      1:16
about so the three and a half Realms are
      1:20
      the
      1:21
origin of the virus which is all but
      1:25
certain to have been laboratory and very
      1:27
probably the Wuhan Institute but the
      1:29
Wuhan Wuhan Institute isn’t the Wuhan
      1:31
      Institute of virology it’s also
      1:33
connected to uh the NIH Anthony
      1:38
      fouchy
      1:40
this enhancement this gain of function
      1:42
research that was embarked upon was
      1:46
      Downstream of a weapons
      1:49
program and what’s gain of function
      1:52
research gain of function research is
      1:55
where various techniques are employed to
      1:58
      give a path
      2:00
in this case a virus capabilities that
      2:03
it didn’t otherwise have okay so what I
      2:06
I think happened in the origin of Co we
      2:08
can now tell a pretty good story you
      2:11
      have a
      2:13
      vast um network of
      2:17
      Laboratories working to find new
      2:21
pathogens that can be turned into
      2:23
weapons what story they tell themselves
      2:25
about why we need these weapons I don’t
      2:27
know but it is clear that if you are
      2:32
working to enhance human health or you
      2:36
say you are that you are allowed to
      2:38
enhance The lethality of germs as part
      2:41
      of a dual use
      2:43
program so the excuse is oh we’re
      2:46
working to prepare the world from a
      2:48
      pandemic it’s not a matter of if it’s a
      2:50
matter of when right that’s what they
      2:53
tell us it’s not true the likelihood of
      2:56
a pathogen leaping from nature to humans
      2:59
is actually quite remote for reasons
      3:02
that it took me a long time to realize
      3:03
but I now get it loud and clear
      3:06
pathogens don’t jump from animals to
      3:09
humans very easily because it’s not an
      3:11
easy jump right they have to do two
      3:14
tricks and they have to do it in Rapid
      3:16
succession in order for it to work the
      3:17
first trick is they have to actually
      3:20
      infect a human
      3:21
being the second trick is before that
      3:24
human being dies or gets better they
      3:26
have to learn to jump to a second human
      3:28
being that is not not an easy trick so
      3:32
what human beings have done is they have
      3:34
      started accelerating that process in
      3:36
      Laboratories that are specifically
      3:39
      attempting to
      3:40
create these highly path pathogenic um
      3:46
creatures that infect people for the
      3:49
      purpose of creating weapons
      3:52
so what happened in Wuhan I believe is
      3:58
there was a case where some Chinese
      4:02
miners who were working in a mine that
      4:05
was full of bats they were actually
      4:07
literally shoveling bat guano out of
      4:09
      this
      4:11
mine six of them became sick and three
      4:15
      of them
      4:16
died none of them made anybody else sick
      4:19
and they were all compromised because
      4:21
they were breathing this dust in in the
      4:23
mine which made them vulnerable but the
      4:26
fact that six miners got sick from a
      4:29
virus in this mine told the folks at the
      4:32
Wuhan Institute of virology who were
      4:35
      connected directly to some American
      4:39
researchers told them aha there is a
      4:43
virus in a cave in Yan Province and the
      4:48
virus already knows one of the two
      4:49
tricks it can infect a human what we
      4:53
need to do is find that virus and
      4:55
enhance it so that we have a virus that
      4:57
can spread between people why would they
      5:00
want a virus that can spread between
      5:01
people because they’re part of a cryptic
      5:03
weapons program ah okay now if that
      5:06
sounds Preposterous to you and I can
      5:08
imagine that it would I can imagine
      5:10
myself 5 years ago thinking that sounds
      5:13
      absolutely ridiculous and uh paranoid
      5:17
frankly I would I would suggest that
      5:20
people read Robert Robert F Kennedy
      5:23
Jr’s uh most recent book it’s called the
      5:27
Wuhan coverup in which he explor
      5:29
explores at Great length this weapons
      5:32
program and its probable link to SARS
      5:36
K2 it is also worth reading the book he
      5:40
wrote before that the real Anthony
      5:42
fouchy when one comes to understand that
      5:44
the reason that Anthony fouchy was the
      5:46
highest paid federal worker in the US
      5:48
      bar
      5:49
nun that’s because he was the head of a
      5:52
weapons program desguised as a public
      5:54
health program okay so Anthony fouchy is
      5:57
the guy that I saw on TV telling giving
      5:59
us ad advice I want to do about this
      6:01
pandemic he was he was the guy and he
      6:03
was like the medical adviser guy the
      6:05
medical advisor guy but the funny thing
      6:07
is Anthony fouchy is largely responsible
      6:11
for the gain of function research that
      6:14
created the virus in the first place
      6:16
that made it a human pathogen how do we
      6:18
know that um because we now know that
      6:22
there was a ban on gain of function
      6:26
research in the US and that Anthony
      6:28
fouchy was was part of the effort to
      6:31
Offshore the work to Ralph barck who is
      6:35
an American researcher still is an
      6:36
American researcher his Partners in the
      6:38
Wuhan Institute of virology XI Jen Lee
      6:42
being the primary so what they did was
      6:45
they evaded a ban that arose in the US I
      6:48
believe in 2015 as a result of very
      6:51
realistic fears that a virus would
      6:53
escape from gain of function research
      6:55
they offshored it to the Wuhan Institute
      6:57
of virology so the work could continue
      6:59
that was Anthony fouche’s work so
      7:01
somehow he ends up both in a position to
      7:05
fund and fuel the research that creates
      7:09
the virus and then he’s the go-to guy
      7:11
for advice about what we should do about
      7:13
it that’s a very odd coincidence and it
      7:16
worked out very badly for planet Earth
      7:18
      why would Anthony
      7:20
fouchy send offshore it to China who are
      7:24
I would consider to be one of the US’s
      7:26
arch nemesis yeah that is a great
      7:29
question I don’t know the answer to it
      7:31
you wouldn’t want China to have that
      7:32
      information it’s like developing the
      7:33
nuclear bomb in Russia or something well
      7:35
I actually think that uh folks like you
      7:38
      and me
      7:40
      are we don’t get
      7:42
it we think that China is a nation and
      7:47
America is a nation and that these
      7:49
      nations are
      7:52
      antagonists we don’t understand that
      7:54
actually the United States while it is a
      7:57
nation is also a set of factions and
      8:01
those factions don’t agree one faction
      8:03
decided to forbid gain of function
      8:06
research another faction decided oh no
      8:08
you don’t and we know how to get it done
      8:10
and it was partnered with some faction
      8:12
of that Chinese entity you know uh
      8:16
      across the water
      8:18
and if I if I think about how America
      8:21
looks to Outsiders right I can imagine
      8:24
people talking about oh the Americans
      8:26
are doing this right but if you’re
      8:28
talking about what the B Administration
      8:30
is doing you’re not talking about me the
      8:33
Biden Administration isn’t on my team
      8:34
I’ll guarantee that right so the point
      8:36
is the Biden Administration is my
      8:39
antagonist the Americans are a composite
      8:43
of antagonists I mean I guess in one
      8:45
sense but I don’t know why we offshored
      8:48
weapons research to China I don’t know
      8:52
that there isn’t a partnership between
      8:56
entities that is much more relevant to
      9:00
the unfolding of events that simply
      9:03
      doesn’t have a name I would recognize
      9:05
but somehow we know that we did it we
      9:07
know that the research was forbidden
      9:09
here and we know you know Ralph baric
      9:11
trained XI Jang Lee in how to do
      9:14
techniques including what he calls no
      9:16
      seeum
      9:17
edits those are edits you can’t
      9:20
see why would a biologist interested in
      9:23
studying pathogens in order to make
      9:25
people healthier care whether you could
      9:26
see their edits could could it not be
      9:28
the case that fouchy moved the project
      9:31
to China the gain of function research
      9:33
to China where was involved in that
      9:35
because he wanted to come up he wanted
      9:37
      to understand these pathogens these
      9:38
viruses better so that we could do
      9:41
experiments on them to better understand
      9:43
them to figure out how to defend against
      9:44
them this is exactly what they tell you
      9:48
      I’m a
      9:49
biologist maybe I’m dumb but that story
      9:53
doesn’t make any sense to me you’re
      9:54
      going to create a new
      9:57
virus from a ancestor you’ve pulled out
      10:02
of a cave in yunan province that you’ve
      10:04
enhanced in some way that you decided to
      10:06
enhance it it doesn’t tell you about
      10:09
some virus that’s going to LEAP out of
      10:11
nature of its own accord it tells you
      10:13
about the virus you just created it
      10:15
doesn’t make sense from the point of
      10:17
view of enhancing human health for two
      10:19
      reasons one there’s no demonstrated
      10:22
evidence that such research has given us
      10:25
any benefit whatsoever in fighting off
      10:27
pathogens there’s no case in which we’ve
      10:29
seen that what we do have are multiple
      10:32
cases of leaks of pathogens from Labs
      10:35
      studying them
      10:37
so we’ve just got a simple comparison
      10:40
what are the chances if you study some
      10:42
virus you plucked out of some cave that
      10:44
you’re going to come up with something
      10:45
useful that’s actually going to help us
      10:47
      certainly didn’t happen with covid
      10:49
chances are very low what are the
      10:51
chances that things going to leak from
      10:52
your lab and cause a global pandemic um
      10:56
pretty high actually mhm I just I just
      11:00
imagine scientists in the lab would take
      11:01
a sample of it they’d put it in the lab
      11:03
they’d start analyzing it they might
      11:04
start doing tests on it to see how it
      11:06
responds to certain things and then you
      11:09
know through no fault of their own maybe
      11:10
      it
      11:11
leaked okay but let’s let’s see how that
      11:15
      played
      11:16
out we’ve got some genan jocks pulling a
      11:21
virus out of a unon cave and enhancing
      11:25
      it so that it becomes
      11:27
      a communicable human power
      11:32
pathogen they should in theory in
      11:35
studying it have come up with
      11:36
information that would tell us what to
      11:39
do if such a pathogen ever got out which
      11:41
it did because they lost control of it
      11:44
well what did they tell us they told
      11:47
us don’t use Ivermectin don’t use
      11:50
hydroxy chloroquin that what you should
      11:53
do is you should wait at
      11:56
home until you’re actually you’re lips
      11:59
are turning blue then you should come
      12:01
      get medical
      12:03
      help
      12:05
now that’s wrong in every way the right
      12:10
thing to do was to allow doctors to look
      12:13
at the patients who were coming into
      12:14
their office and to figure out how to
      12:16
treat them those doctors should have
      12:18
said you well this person uh they appear
      12:20
to be sick with a uh a respiratory
      12:24
      pathogen there’s a good chance that it’s
      12:26
an RNA virus they could have quickly
      12:28
actually asked attained that it was an
      12:30
RNA virus you know what works on all RNA
      12:33
      viruses
      12:34
icton then they could have treated it
      12:36
and they would have seen oh icon works
      12:39
for covid if you give it very early if
      12:43
you give it in sufficient Doses and if
      12:46
      you give it with
      12:48
fat okay doctors would have figured that
      12:50
out on their own instead what we got was
      12:52
a message from the very people who had
      12:54
      engaged in offshoring this research
      12:57
ostensibly to figure out how to deal
      12:59
with Co who then gave us exactly the
      13:01
inverse of the right advice right and
      13:03
then what did they do well then they
      13:06
told us the route out of this is a
      13:10
vaccine what they delivered was not a
      13:12
vaccine it was a gene therapy that gene
      13:16
therapy we were told blocks the
      13:19
      contraction and the transmission of
      13:23
covid and what happened was they
      13:26
      demonized everybody who questioned
      13:28
either the safe or the efficacy or both
      13:31
      of these
      13:33
treatments turned out that didn’t work
      13:36
so what we have this is why I say that
      13:39
      the covid
      13:40
      story uh diagnoses the
      13:43
system if you think and a person could
      13:47
be well within their rights to think
      13:50
well I’m sure we were studying the virus
      13:53
to protect people and that it would tell
      13:54
us something about what should be done
      13:56
if it ever were to LEAP into human
      14:00
well we got a perfect test of how well
      14:01
that worked every single thing they told
      14:03
us to do was wrong and upside down if
      14:06
you took what they call the vaccine you
      14:08
put yourself in Jeopardy if you ignored
      14:11
their advice and you used icton and
      14:14
hydroxychloroquine and you used it early
      14:17
and you used it in sufficient quantities
      14:19
it actually was highly effective and
      14:21
      actually rendered this uh illness
      14:24
      perfectly manageable for almost every
      14:26
      single
      14:27
      person so
      14:29
we’ve seen how well they did they failed
      14:31
across the boorder do you think there’s
      14:33
      malicious intent somewhere because when
      14:35
people hear these stories they and
      14:37
because the average Joe doesn’t know how
      14:38
systems above them work they tend to
      14:40
think of this like Illuminati group of
      14:42
people coming together deciding this was
      14:44
going to happen then executing this plan
      14:45
for some because these you know this
      14:47
this room of people who are evil who
      14:49
people refer to as like they um wanted
      14:52
to do harm and they want to control us
      14:55
that’s the kind kind of conspiracy
      14:57
narrative um I have no idea what
      15:01
motivates such people my guess is most
      15:06
      of the people who
      15:08
participated in the programs that did so
      15:11
much harm thought they were doing the
      15:13
      right thing I don’t think that’s true
      15:15
for all of them though I don’t think
      15:16
that’s true for Anthony fouchy you you
      15:18
don’t think he thinks he was doing the
      15:20
right thing I think he knows he’s a
      15:21
weapons guy and that when you’re a
      15:26
      weapons guy you are inherently
      15:28
      comfortable
      15:29
with the destruction of human beings
      15:31
that’s what you do for a living you’re
      15:33
trying to create things that destroy
      15:34
human beings and I don’t know what it
      15:36
would be like to have such a job I’ve
      15:39
never had one but my guess is there is a
      15:43
      mechanism for rationalizing absolutely
      15:46
ghastly things if what you do for a
      15:50
living is plot the destruction of
      15:55
others now you rais this as a concern as
      15:58
one of your key concerns because I guess
      16:00
you think we haven’t learned our lessons
      16:01
from this no we haven’t um we and I
      16:04
think things are a little bit inverted
      16:07
in uh in Britain in the
      16:12
US there is widespread discussion of the
      16:15
harms that came from the so-called
      16:18
vaccines but the question of the
      16:21
      repurposed
      16:23
drugs uh has still that story has not
      16:25
broken people still think that iacon on
      16:28
Hydrox oxy chloroquin don’t work and
      16:30
never worked for Co um I think this
      16:34
      story is in general the
      16:36
inverse that um the vaccine harms are
      16:41
still Taboo in Britain and there’s more
      16:44
acceptance of of repurposed drugs but
      16:47
really what we need is a No Holds Barred
      16:52
      exploration of what happened
      16:54
irrespective of what it was maybe I’ve
      16:56
got it all wrong and maybe that would
      16:58
      emerge in
      16:59
an investigation but we need to look at
      17:03
the viral Origins how exactly that
      17:07
happen we need to look at what was done
      17:12
the coup that public health staged
      17:14
      against medicine in which directives
      17:17
about how to treat patients came down
      17:19
from on high rather than the normal
      17:21
medical process of doctors figuring out
      17:23
how how to treat their patients
      17:25
      empirically and pooling their
      17:27
insights and we need to talk about what
      17:30
happened where these Gene therapies came
      17:33
from what was understood about the
      17:37
danger and uh how it is that we treat
      17:41
all of the people who frankly did
      17:43
exactly what they were asked to do and
      17:46
have had their lives compromised or lost
      17:50
because of injuries that they were not
      17:51
told were possible if you love the

Apropos covid, rebranded “mpox” for Round Two .. mighty Breads & Circuses are needed to permit an orderly Collapse

        https://www.webmd.com/covid/news/20240813/covid-levels-very-high-majority-us-states

Remember the predictive programming of “Songbird (2020)” which we’ve discussed many times. A resurgence of covid in 2024, leading to martial law, lockdowns, digital control via smartphones.. what else do desperate fearful criminals without consent to govern and driven by impulse to keep power at any price have?

First, a simple remark, kitchen chemistry, if you will. Carborundum stones used to sharpen knives. These actually work, the working part of the stone, like tiny chisels. Most of the surface faces the wrong way, but some of the microscopic surface faces the right way. Too much pressure on the knife turns the surface into tiny “plows” that drag, so with a soft touch, oil or water to keep the “plows” from dragging and leave the “chisels standing a smidgeon higher than the lubricant film, and many strokes, at the right inclination, works better… But! In real life the surface gets clogged with crud. Oxidized stuff, catalyzed oil, a sort of varnish – and the stone doesn’t work so very well as it did when clean and new. Old stones at rummage sales are almost free – no one wants a crappy stone.ย  Ok, so? So, with due caution, in ceramic, not metal, shallow container…place the crappy stone. Pour straight laundry (or stronger) bleach over it until it’s submerged. Don’t splash, use gloves, wash your hands, wear eye protection, and if you get any at all on your clothes or skin, launder the clothes, take a shower, and don’t wait. Meantime let the stone interact with the bleach 24 hours, keep the cat and the kids away. Then rinse the stone and wash with dish “soap”. I use the bleach at 10% from the swimming pool supply department at Home Depot, it’s a lot cheaper in terms of what you get, laundry bleach is maybe half as strong. You’ll find the soap washes off nasty black greasy krap, and you’ll need to scrub some. When I did this I was astonished at how well the rejuvenated stone sharpened knives. And by the nasty stuff that was released from the stone by the bleach. Properly the bleach is 10% Sodium hypochlorite in solution with water, and the dish soap is sodium laurel sulphate, in case anybody cares. Room temperature, please. The fumes are chlorine, you may want to do this outdoors, mind the kids and kitties though. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Scientists: Real-Time Self-Assembly Structures Revealed In 2-Year Study Of Pfizer And Moderna Covid-19 Shots

      I got full paper at> https://www.researchgate.net/publication/382358701_Real-Time_Self-Assembly_of_Stereomicroscopically_Visible_Artificial_Constructions_in_Incubated_Specimens_of_mRNA_Products_Mainly_from_Pfizer_and_Moderna_A_Comprehensive_Longitudinal_Study

Open and quickly click on download pdf.

excerpt> “This is a first-of-its-kind, pivotal study on the self-assembly structures occasionally observed by others since 2021. It blows the top off of the “Safe and Effective” narrative, exposing it not just as a lie but also as an intentional deception to hide the real contents of the shots. After all, the shots were billed as containing mRNA, which is considered to be synonymous with gene therapy. Indeed, mRNA was found to be present, but not one word was ever mentioned about artificial, non-biological, self-assembling”

      Abstract (from the fullpaper)
Observable real-time injuries at the cellular level in recipients of the โ€œsafe and effectiveโ€ COVID-19 injectables are
documented here for the first time with the presentation of a comprehensive description and analysis of observed
phenomena. The global administration of these often-mandated products from late 2020 triggered a plethora of
independent research studies of the modified RNA injectable gene therapies, most notably those manufactured by Pfizer
and Moderna. Analyses reported here consist of precise laboratory โ€œbench scienceโ€ aiming to understand why serious
debilitating, prolonged injuries (and many deaths) occurred increasingly without any measurable protective effect from
the aggressively, marketed products. The contents of COVID-19 injectables were examined under a stereomicroscope at
up to 400X magnification. Carefully preserved specimens were cultured in a range of distinct media to observe
immediate and long-term cause-and-effect relationships between the injectables and living cells under carefully
controlled conditions. From such research, reasonable inferences can be drawn about observed injuries worldwide that
have occurred since the injectables were pressed upon billions of individuals. In addition to cellular toxicity, our findings
reveal numerous โ€” on the order of 3~4 x 106 per milliliter of the injectable โ€” visible artificial self-assembling entities
ranging from about 1 to 100 ยตm, or greater, of many different shapes. There were animated worm-like entities, discs,
chains, spirals, tubes, right-angle structures containing other artificial entities within them, and so forth. All these are
exceedingly beyond any expected and acceptable levels of contamination of the COVID-19 injectables, and incubation
studies revealed the progressive self-assembly of many artifactual structures. As time progressed during incubation,
simple one- and two-dimensional structures over two or three weeks became more complex in shape and size developing
into stereoscopically visible entities in three-dimensions. They resembled carbon nanotube filaments, ribbons, and tapes,
some appearing as transparent, thin, flat membranes, and others as three-dimensional spirals, and beaded chains. Some
of these seemed to appear and then disappear over time. Our observations suggest the presence of some kind of
      nanotechnology in the COVID-19 injectables.

We’re in the boat Dear Lady. My surviving kids, and those of Mrs P, and their children, all walking dead. All totally deceived. All vaxed multiple times. And I assume, sterile, and soon to be deceased. So estranged that if some have died, the others would not trouble to let me know. The line comes to a horrid end. For me, in a way, this is not the first time, as I too was long prevented from contact with them by their alcoholic mother…my disastrous first marriage. So a multiple tragedy. And also rather expensive as well. And, alas, I am uncle to no children from my “confirmed bachelor” brother. I assume he’s also taken the shots…he’s over 80. Maybe dead. Sometimes I check to see. He worships money and power. Poor sod. Relations with other men cost less, I suppose.

Autism study> First an excerpt from a post @ locals, then the url to the actual study, prefaced with the abstract. Don’t let the chemistry scare ya!

(Looks like diet is important, well duh!)

“Autism rates have risen dramatically, from 2 to 4 cases per 10,000 children in the 1960s to ’70s to about 1 in 36 children in the U.S. today
A groundbreaking study found a link between polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) metabolites in umbilical cord fluid and autism severity in children. The study found that high levels of diHETrE, a metabolite of arachidonic acid (derived from linoleic acid), in cord blood significantly impacted autism spectrum disorder (ASD) symptom severity
Modern diets have seen a massive shift towards consuming more PUFAs, with linoleic acid intake increasing from less than 2% to over 25% of total daily calories. High-PUFA intake during pregnancy may influence fetal neurodevelopment through increased production of inflammatory molecules called eicosanoids
Similar studies have linked high maternal omega-6 intake to increased risks of ADHD and cognitive impairments in children.”

      …………..

      Abstract>

      Abstract
      Aim
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is associated with abnormal lipid metabolism, such as a high total ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 in polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs). PUFAs are metabolized to epoxy fatty acids by cytochrome P450 (CYP); then, dihydroxy fatty acid is produced by soluble epoxide hydrolase. This study examined the association between PUFA metabolites in the cord blood and ASD symptoms and adaptive functioning in children.
      Methods
This prospective cohort study utilized cord blood to quantify PUFA metabolites of the CYP pathway. The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) and Vineland Adaptive Behaviors Scales, Second Edition (VABS-II) were used to assess subsequent ASD symptoms and adaptive functioning in children at 6โ€‰years. The analysis included 200 children and their mothers.
      Results
Arachidonic acid-derived diols, 11,12-diHETrE was found to impact ASD symptom severity on the ADOS-2-calibrated severity scores and impairment in the socialization domain as assessed by the VABS-II (Pโ€‰=โ€‰0.0003;ย Pโ€‰=โ€‰0.004, respectively). High levels of 11,12-diHETrE impact social affect in ASD symptoms (Pโ€‰=โ€‰0.002), while low levels of 8,9-diHETrE impact repetitive/restrictive behavior (Pโ€‰=โ€‰0.003). Notably, there was specificity in the association between diHETrE and ASD symptoms, especially in girls.
      Conclusion
These findings suggest that the dynamics of diHETrE during the fetal period is important in the developmental trajectory of children after birth. Given that the role of diol metabolites in neurodevelopmentย in vivoย is completely uncharacterized, the results of this study provide important insight into the role of diHETrE and ASD pathophysiology.

Remote Sensing | Free Full-Text | A Potential Link between Space Weather and Atmospheric Parameters Variations: A Case Study of November 2021 Geomagnetic Storm

      Abstract>
On 4 November 2021, during the rising phase of solar cycle 25, an intense geomagnetic storm (Kp = 8โˆ’) occurred. The effects of this storm on the outer magnetospheric region up to the ionospheric heights have already been examined in previous investigations. This work is focused on the analysis of the solar wind conditions before and during the geomagnetic storm, the high-latitude electrodynamics conditions, estimated through empirical models, and the response of the atmosphere in both hemispheres, based on parameters from the ECMWF ERA5 atmospheric reanalysis dataset. Our investigations are also supported by counter-test analysis and Monte Carlo tests. We find, for both hemispheres, a significant correspondence, within 1โ€“2 days, between high-latitude electrodynamics variations and changes in the temperature, specific humidity, and meridional and zonal winds, in both the troposphere and stratosphere. The results indicate that, in the complex solar windโ€“atmosphere relationship, a significant role might be played by the intensification of the polar cap potential. We also study the reciprocal relation between the ionospheric Joule heating, calculated from a model, and two adiabatic invariants used in the analysis of solar wind turbulence.

Planets Influences on Earthquakes | Research Square

      Abstract

This study explores the relationship between planetary positions and earthquake activity using statistical analysis of data from the National Geophysical Data Center / World Data Service (NGDC/WDS) Global Significant Earthquake Database, specifically focusing on NOAA global R5โ€‰+โ€‰earthquake data from 1900 to 2023. The analysis examines correlations between the mean number of earthquakes per day over two-year intervals and the mean heliocentric acceleration of selected planets during the same periods. Results for Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune suggest interesting correlations between planetary acceleration and the mean daily number of earthquakes. Due to sample size constraints, this analysis could not be applied to the inner planets Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. Additionally, the statistical bias resulting from uneven time and earthquake data density prevents a similar analysis for Pluto. Nevertheless, the findings for the four outer planets are intriguing and provide compelling evidence of a possible influence of planetary positions on earthquake activity.

Here find ham radio and other radio live from the air with near zero latency, and without censorship by any third party, as in what you hear is what was said/is said… Hams get down to business when there is “traffic” to relay, and the rest of the time either “rag-chew” or sip coffee and listen. I often let it run in the audio as background whilst reading.ย  VHF and UHF frequency radio is low power and line-of-sight, much as light is, so “Repeaters” are constructed, often at the voluntary expense of Radio Clubs. (Cops have repeaters too, and so do many other organizations) Repeaters have antennas mounted at elevation, high ground, sometimes a water tower or tall building, they recieve local transmissions and re-transmit at a slightly different frequency at much higher power (still not much!). Some repeaters are linked to the internet…and let you “hear” what you would if you were in the repeater area and had a walkie-talkie tuned to the repeater output. Storm “Milton” cometh and may/will knock out many or most Florida repeaters and internet links. Many repeaters have battery and/or emergency generator power…but even so, Milton may damage the antenna structures…but not all ๐Ÿ˜‰ So shop the repeater list… and get the straight dope. Hams may spin a tale, but they’re honest guys, sincere, and while the license tests are not terribly difficult, they’re impossible to pass without actually studying…unlike the “CB” fellas who just say whatever, Hams are sincere. Many are retired technical people, some are engineers and scientists, and noone pays them a dime (and that would be illegal, btw), it’s a public service and a hobby they pay for themselves, and it can be spendy, so they’re serious fellas. One reason that Ham frequencies exist in Law is that they relay emergency traffic…see the history of “ARRL”.
