Who is in Saudi Arabia’s war room?
Israel providing intel to Saudi Arabia for Yemen strikes
The IDF has provided Riyadh with “exceptional” intelligence “capabilities to assist its military operations against the Houthis,” an anonymous defense official told JPost.
👉 The intel-sharing, provided via “US mediation,” lines up “with Israel’s national interests and directives from the political leadership,” the official said.
Israel benefits from the exchange “because it wears down the military strength of an Israeli enemy that is preparing and planning to harm us in the future,” and “learning a great deal” about the situation on the ground, observing “methods of operations and tactics,” and weapons types used.
➡️ The intel support comes against the background of reports that the IDF is on “heighted alert” for some kind of potential Houthi ground or sea assault inside Israel itself. (https://t.me/geopolitics_prime/76195)
It also follows reports that Benjamin Netanyahu had proposed joining the military campaign against Ansar Allah, but was shot down by MBS, who declined over fears of the domestic and regional repercussions of being seen as collaborating with Israel, whose treatment of the Palestinians Riyadh has formally condemned.
Ansar Allah has consistently accused the House of Saud and other regional monarchies of being “puppets,” “mercenaries” and “servants” of the US and Israel.
The Houthi-aligned Yemeni military reported Thursday that Saudi air and missile strikes had targeted Yemen 2.9k+ times since July’s resumption of hostilities. JPost’s source did not clarify when Israel began sharing intel, or what percentage of overall Saudi attacks have been based on info provided by the IDF.
