There is dire tech news today, and I have a number of tweets discussing it at the end of today’s post so you can ignore if you want. My conspiracy mind is in overdrive, it’s very difficult to imagine two separate damaging hits to the internet today that would be bigger than these, and also they are so comically simple…
I have to think this is the start of something bigger, killing off the old & alternative internet, a temper tantrum over losing the AI race and the AI bubble popping, potentially killing the ability for people to find out news before some really big things break out there. I don’t know. I do know that I run a number of not super relevant but older sites that I have kept running almost for the sake of nostalgia, and they are probably going have to go away now.
With all the geopolitical chess moves and tension and protests happening all over the world, I have to think this breaking is intentional.
