Prof Marandi : The mood in Iran has changed significantly
Speaking on Monday’s episode of The Grand Standoff: Iran and the World, Professor Mohammad Marandi said the mood in Iran has changed significantly.
He said there is nothing hidden about Iran’s uranium enrichment, noting that Iran has enriched uranium to 60% and that the quantity and quality of its enriched uranium are well known because Tehran allowed the IAEA access to its facilities.
Professor Marandi said the facilities that were bombed were among those regularly visited by IAEA inspectors, stressing that “there was nothing secret happening” and that Iran’s activities were carried out openly, so “what the United States has done is that it’s only hurt itself.”
He added that, within the framework of the NPT, Iran is legally permitted to enrich uranium to 99%, adding that such enrichment is “quite legal” and a legitimate act if Iran were to pursue it.
