Commentary on the Economic War on Iran declared by Bessent and Trump
This is some of the first commentary on the declared economic war on Iran.
(Economic D Day may just turn out to be Economic Defeat Day – for the empire, that is!).

I think many in the West are misreading these alarms from Iranian leaders.
We seem to be encouraged by them, concluding they’re considering capitulating to Trump. I rather read the msgs to their domestic audience that without major military action against the U.S., Iran will eventually be strangled — thus the population must be prepared to win their freedom w renewed war.
I see zero evidence that literally a handful of months of economic hardships has Iran ready to capitulate and surrender everything it has gained since February, and hand The U.S. a strategic victory that would see Iran likely permanently weakened. Any Iranian government that willingly capitulated to American pressure likely *would* b overthrown.
Daniel Davis is talking about this kind of propaganda that is now appearing widely.
Warnings from senior Iranian officials about the cost of prolonging the war are increasingly converging with Washington’s central pressure point: whether Iran can economically sustain the conflict.https://t.co/t1FFs83asX pic.twitter.com/qSeGUprc8l

Professor Mohammad Marandi On Thursday’s episode of The Grand Standoff: Iran and the World, Marandi warned that Western economic warfare against Iranian civilians will yield direct consequences for regional regimes aligning with the United States.
Marandi emphasizes that if Western sanctions seek to choke off Iranian commerce, Tehran will apply reciprocal pressure to US assets and host nations across the region. Marandi further questioned the long-term viability of regimes that have sacrificed their stability to enable American policy, asserting that Iran possesses the endurance and strategic depth to outlast Washington’s siege tactics.
China clearly said they won’t play this game. Here is paragraph from a Global Times editorial:
Simply expanding economic pressure will only prolong the conflict and increase the losses for all sides. The entire world can see this clearly. Not only will China not play along with the US’ “reckless games” on the Iran issue, but the international community will not stand with Washington either. From moral, legal, and practical perspectives, escalating unilateral sanctions has neither legitimacy nor feasibility. https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202608/1368738.shtml
Comments on comments indicate that this is not the last word that we will hear from China on this matter and that they will act in some manner.
StarBoySAR – Live from Bessent’s arsonist school of diplomacy: Washington tears up the Iran deal, sets the Gulf on fire, then tells Beijing to sanction its own oil supply because it would “do them a big service”followed by “you’re either with us or against us” — cos that line ended so well in 2001 – China will give this a hard but polite pass
Amarynth: We’re back at regime change, although it is not called that. The circle is unbroken and as it turns, US options are narrowing. The US started with regime change and failed. Then, we had wars and Iran strategically came off the better fighters. Then, the US could not supply their ships in the region as the supply points were shot up and AnsarAllah stepped in and Saudi Arabia cannot export much. Then the US announced that the Straigt of Hormuz will lose relevance and everything is going to be transported via pipelines, which is a pipedream. And now, we are back at regime change where Iran’s economy mainly happens through new systems, not touchable by the US and Dollar regime. Iran is ready to step forward and if one reads the local media, as Daniel Davis said, they are preparing for more war.
Russia to my knowledge has not commented and what should they say anyway. The US is voting or has voted on 100% tariffs on Russian oil, but really, they cannot stop the flow. In my view, I am with the ones that consider this the fall of the US Dollar Empire. Russia has strengthened under sanctions. We can expect the same trajectory for Iran.
Bessent ‘the Great Ass’ does not understand why oil prices are rising. There is a shortage would someone please tell him.
