Andrei Martyanov: Russia has WARNED Israel and US against using nukes | Ep. 19

I’ll say this clearly and without any criticism of Andrei Martyanov. I’m simply stating facts. Many people are not happy with him, and that is their personal choice. He is a weapons and war expert, and regarding the war on Iran, we would be wise to listen to him. I’m glad he is deepening his knowledge of the region. I consider Andrei a friend, so I will not tolerate personal criticism—don’t even try. Regarding his analysis, however, you are free to examine it and share your views as you wish.

Issues:

-The claim that “Russia is being soft on Israel”: That is not the case. I’ve heard from Russians who strongly oppose Israeli dual citizens, and authorities are currently tracking down those who fight for the IDF or who support the killing of children in Gaza and similar atrocities against Palestinians. I haven’t seen anyone with dual citizenship arrested in Russia yet for these crimes or for misrepresenting themselves, but further action is likely.

-The possibility of Israel (or the US) using nuclear weapons in the war on Iran: Andrei suggests that Russia has already issued a strong warning to Israel against using nukes. From China, we’ve also heard statements that if they dare to do so, they will cease to exist as a state or hold any standing in the world ever again.

-The idea that the Gulf states are finished: I agree. The region’s eventual configuration remains to be seen, but I believe Russia and China are working together to salvage key interests—primarily to stabilize the global supply of goods and hydrocarbons.

-The old “Russia lost Syria” trope: Instead of rehashing this—I have little patience left for it—no, Russia did not lose Syria.

-The assertion that the US and the West have already lost this war: I agree, but when it comes to conflict, I prefer to see the fighting stop before declaring a definitive winner.

If I was so inclined to ask a question now, I would ask Andrei whether it is his opinion that the USRael planes being shot down, although a very few but a Warthog just got wacked, is making an impact and if this impact is purely for propaganda purposes, or a real impact in the skies? The sense out there is that Iran’s air defenses get stronger by the day.
