FM Sergey Lavrov took part in the G20 Ministerial Meeting in New York
On September 25, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov took part (https://mid.ru/en/foreign_policy/news/2048904/) in the G20 Ministerial Meeting in New York.
The event, held on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 80th UN General Assembly Session, was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the UN and Victory in World War II, as well as the 65th anniversary of the UN Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples.
During substantive discussions involving UN Member States and international organisations, particular attention was paid to the interconnection between peace and security in the context of strengthening interaction between the G20 and the UN.
The prevailing view voiced by the World Majority countries, in particular #BRICS and the #SCO members, emphasised the importance of reinvigorating the coordinating role of the UN and the primacy of international law based on its Charter ๐ #UNCharterIsOurRules
In his remarks, Sergey Lavrov outlined fundamental approaches concerning the emergence of a multipolar world grounded in the architecture of indivisible security, an open global economic system, and a mutually respectful dialogue.
He also highlighted the prospects for creating independent mechanisms to ensure the fair functioning of cross-border markets and supply chains in line with the outcomes of the 2024 Kazan Summit and other BRICS agreements, as well as the SCO and the EAEU instruments.

This is the formal readout. But Mr Lavrov said something else.
The refusal to follow the UN Charter, which is a manifestation of โneo-colonial ambitions,โ prompts regional wars and raises global tension, Lavrov stated, invoking decades-long unresolved conflicts in Africa and elsewhere.
โAnother clear example is the Western-provoked crisis in Ukraine, through which NATO and the European Union want to declare โ have already declared โ an actual war on my country and are directly participating in it,โ the top diplomat added.
So, there we have it. NATO and the EU are de facto at war against Russia. He could not make it clearer.
