Pass on the word

I would like to encourage everyone to start sharing our knowledge and wisdom even more outside our bubble.

About coaching

Coaches, psychologists and all other counselors help people get better. They have knowledge and skills that they can transfer to those they are mentoring. But this is not a one-way street, even if it sometimes seems that way. During one of the first trainings I received, I was told that as a coach I could pull people up, but those people would push me up. There is always a trade-off. As you move someone forward as a coach, you get to know the person better, you get to know yourself better and you learn more ways to help the other person in a way that suits them.

The reverse guru

There are quite a few gurus these days who draw full houses and tell their followers exactly how to live. Often there is much wisdom in that and it does have a function. But how can you really be a guru if your back is to the future? Surely no one is finished in this world; surely we all still have to grow in consciousness? Being a guru is not a job, it is a vocation. It is not about full houses, but about one’s own growth. Are you helping all those others by repeating the same thing over and over again? Do people learn from stories instead of doing and experiencing for themselves? So what is the right role for a guru to play? Do you have to want to be a guru?

Theory versus practice

What good is all this knowledge and wisdom if you don’t do anything with it? That’s why this piece is called “Pass the Word.” If we are all cameramen and record exactly what happens, then while it is very important to have an excellent overview of reality, nothing will change with that. So what is needed above all are people who set things in motion, bring about change. You can do something yourself, but you can also get others moving. You can set an example, but also encourage others. What do you think has the greatest effect? You can answer a question in a group, but what happens if you remain silent? What happens if you only hint? What happens if you whisper?

Don’t think for someone else

How often does it happen that you do not say or do something because you think the other person will not understand or be open to it? We have formed an image of others and think we know them. By not saying or not doing something, we deny the other person the opportunity to learn and grow. Don’t be a filter for others, but let them be a filter for themselves. Just throw everything on the table, raw and unfiltered. That is the closest thing to truth. I invite you to discover for yourself what this means and what the result is. Experiment with complete transparency. Pass on the word.

Stepping out of our own bubble

I have mentioned here before that we have to be careful not to be content to dwell in our own bubble with like-minded people who all have the same opinion. We can all become wiser together, learn more and more, repeat and deepen our stories, but what good is it if no one outside our bubble benefits? Is the world going to improve if all bubbles remain stuck in their own echo chambers? Our bubble is a safe place, a resting point and a stable ground, but our “work” lies outside our bubble. Not necessarily to draw others into our bubble, but to share knowledge and wisdom. To give others the opportunity to see outside their bubble as well. To do so, we don’t have to be right or right.

The process of awakening

Growth in consciousness comes through movement, and that movement is more important than the direction. When someone is moving and running in the wrong direction, that is more important than someone staying still. We may trust the universe and life that, eventually, all movement will lead to the right destination. Eventually, the direction will be in the right direction. So make sure you are moving. Encourage others to get moving. Even if that means you feel it is not the right direction. We all started somewhere and it takes time to gain some momentum. If something is simple and the most ordinary thing in the world for you, that may be an excellent first incentive for another to change direction. Don’t think for the other person. Pass on the word.

What is our reach?

How many of the articles on GlobalSouth.co do you pass on to others? How often do you not pass on an article because you think it’s not good enough or because you think others won’t benefit from it? How often do you advertise GlobalSouth.co with the goal of making people aware of our bubble? Do you only read the articles, or do you actively participate by commenting and participating? Do you think your opinion matters less or adds too little? Do you know that everyone is essential for collective awareness? Do you know that the more you participate, the more you get out of it yourself and thus also ensure the growth of others? Everyone counts.
