Chinese Wolf Warrior Diplomacy redux: Resistance everywhere

Here is an an interesting discussion with some members of the China Writer’s Group on Wolf Warrior Diplomacy. Initially this was partially condemned in China. The issue has been picked up again and the response of Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, in a telephone conversation with Marco Rubio, US Secretary of State on 24.01.2025 is really very important as it was not understood and widely incorrectly reported:

The Chinese are always very nice, use good manners and speak considerately .. it is changing:

China’s UN representative Geng Shuang WRECKS US Rep: I would advise my American colleague to reflect on an old habit they may need to change— that is, never looking for the root of problems in themselves and always habitually blaming others.

Geng Shuang was one of the first “wolf warriors” when he was spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs 2016 to 2020. As spokesperson of the MOFA, he was succeeded by Zhao Lijian, who was also very straightforward in his expressions.

Note that at that time there was important resistance by many Chinese academics against the “wolf warrior” approach.

On 07.06.2020 Geng Shuang became China’s new Deputy Permanent Representative and Ambassador to the United Nations.

The debate about the “wolf warrior” approach has recently flared up again after some prominent Chinese Ministers and diplomats used very strong words in discussions with the Americans.

Wang Yi: “好自為之”. That does not mean, as Google Translate claims, “Take care of yourself”.
好自為之 is a traditional, old fixed expression, as is sometimes used in education today. The true meaning of that expression is: “Behave yourself, or you will suffer the consequences”. “好自為之” is what a superior says to his subordinates, and what a father says to his son, telling them to “obey the rules, or you will suffer the consequences.” It is so simple, so why make it so complicated.

I posted a CGTN video by Lui Xin, and the difference between the milder voices and the wolf warrior voices is so stark. Prof. Huang Jing says clearly that Trump should be dealt with, not with with a handshake, but with a fist and he makes his point. Where I am, the fist is visible. I have just done a piece criticizing Russia for their mild approach based on work done by Professor Sergey Karaganov who talks against the appeasement and soft approach that we’ve seen from Russia just lately.

The War on BRICS: This has started and unerringly this empire homes in on the weakest BRICS member, Brazil. The article from Dr Michael Hudson explains economically what the strategy is, beneath Trump’s bellowing, and as I said, it is devastating.

Trump’s cosying up to Xi Jinping to create an erstwhile G2 and in such a way split BRICS (India and Russia) apart, stands out. I believe we all can see it.

It is not hard to see that voices are changing across the world, mainly as a result of the open and ugly and brutal extractive imperialism expressed as a virtue, by Trump, although he is a ‘carnie barker’ that barks out the long standing policy and continuance of governance.

It is our time, the world is uniting in (so far) only calling this out in blistering speeches.

Why do I still bother everyone belonging to this distinguished group once again with my usual ramblings on epistemology or the mind stages ?

Because it’s related to the attitude of the Chinese ruling class and it might interest you.

The members (I mean those with true political power) of that class received, ALL OF THEM (even in communist times) RECEIVED a Chinese classical/aristocratic/timeless education, in one form or another, that I label, with my usual grandiloquence, as the ECIM4B5C, the Everlasting Chinese Imperial Matrix of the 4 Books and the 5 Classics.

I received the same Chinese classical education so I have the overbearing pretension of intimately understanding the members of the Chinese ruling class and the Chinese intelligentsia.

All of us understand what is the mechanism of psychological projection, meaning that we tend to believe that the other is like us in term of values, beliefs and thinking process. The Chinese rulers don’t suffer from that distorsion when it’s about politics & geopolitics because thanks to their classical education, they all have the space of meta-representation for avoiding such an error.

Make no mistake, the Chinese rulers clearly see the KFC-AZAEL members (Kakistocratic Feudal Conglomerate of the Anglo-Zio-American EstabLishment) FOR WHAT THEY TRULY ARE :

filthy barbarians with very little pure awareness or practically no pure awareness, motivated by greed, jealousy, lust, wrath and an obsessive-compulsive drive for UTTER VIOLENCE & for LYING CONTINUOUSLY. Also fundamentally COWARDLY because only attacking the weak and the downtrodden peoples. Finally integrally HYPOCRITE & absurdly SANCTIMONIOUS.

Trump’s behavior is the most caricatural of the expected deportment from a KFC-AZAEL member.

The Chinese want Trump to act like he’s acting right now : overbearing to the weak ones AND smiling to the powerful ones, the perfect illustration of a AZAEL kakocrat in action for all to watch.

The Chinese rulers know perfectly they are dealing with animals, dangerous animals TO BE TAMED with candies step by step *when truly possible*, TO BE INTIMIDATED *when needed* (once again, the only 2 languages they truly grasp are FEAR & PAIN) and of course, *never trust them*

Contrary to the Russians, we Chinese don’t need to proclaim Urbi & Orbi that the KFC-AZAEL/US are agreement-incapable, we KNOW that they ARE agreement-incapable.

For this period of international relations, the more the Chinese will show their TOOLS OF POWER, the better for all mankind. And a lot will be shown in the coming years. BYD, DeepSeek R-1, the Yaoguang software for sharp military design, the Zhuhai Air Show, the J-36, the J-50, the 076 amphibious ship, the multiple drones, refueling in space, etc. are only the beginning.

AND THAT’S PART OF ***THE WOLF WARRIOR*** APPROACH (THE STICK) BUT DIPLOMACY WILL NOT BE NEGLECTED. IN DIPLOMACY, THE CARROT AND THE STICK ARE USED ALTERNATIVELY and taking into account the various situations; it’s more efficient.

Animals instinctively know who is the powerful one. Trump invited Xi Jinping to his inauguration, not Modi. I suggest that Trump acted only guided by his proficient animal instinct, nothing more.

Of course, Xi Jinping was right to refuse. It would have granted a disproportionate honor to that clownish kakocrat.

Did Trump want to flatter Xi Jinping and induce him into a fake G2 ?

I think Xi Jinping needs a lot more than that for feeling flattered.

The KFC-AZAEL already tried that laughable trick 16 years ago in 2009 when the late Zzzzzbigniew Brzezinski (1928-2017) was sent by Obumber & Killary to Beijing for offering to the Chinese rulers of the time a fake G2, the Chinese rulers said a crystal clear and resounding NO unless the KFC-AZAEL/US proceed to a complete restructuration of the international order.

China was weaker in 2009 and the Chinese ruling class was confident enough to show the middle finger to Brzezinski, do you think that China in 2025 would stoop herself down to a G2 with the KFC-AZAEL/US, even a real G2 ?

All the economic, tech, financial, military, political, diplomatic, commercial, infrastructural, institutional, networking, industrial, scientific developments since 2009 is TO BE READY FOR THIS MOMENT.

CHINA IS READY.

China will give THE CARROT to the AZAEL kakocrats when possible and appropriate but THE STICK to them when truly needed.

That’s the only smart way when dealing with animals, taking lucidly into account the only 2 idioms they truly understand : FEAR & PAIN.

The KFC-AZAEL is slowly going down and will exit definitely & definitively History. Mark my words.
