Mexican oil tanker ‘Ocean Mariner’ arrives in Cuba with 100,000 barrels of oil. The US ruling class is trying to cut off every supply of fuel to the island in the hopes of stirring up social unrest and bringing about societal collapse and a regime change. This ‘economic warfare’ is as brutal and genocidal as any aerial bombardment could be, necessarily hitting the poorest and most vulnerable the hardest.

I recall reading about this very recently but can’t find it. Yes, Russkie is dotting “i’s” and crossing “t’s”. Mexico ain’t the same socialist of pre-1991 and cannot be relied on. As the old saying goes,“…poor Mexico, so far from God and so close to the United States!”

Nazism was not only an ideology of war and destruction. In the words of Christian Ingrao, it ‘was also a question of hope, of joy, of fervor and utopia: it involved building a new world, an alternative future—a Nazi future’.1 This utopian idea lasted until the beginning of 1945. In a seminar organised in January 1945 by the SS intellectual Franz Alfred Six, guests from regions not yet occupied by the Allies spoke about a new vision of Europäische Schicksalsgemeinschaft (a European Community of Destiny) under German hegemony. A year before the seminar took place, the head of the Planning Office of the Ministry of Armaments and War Production, Hans Kehrl, announced with pride and joy the birth of the European idea, which derived from the victories of the summer of 1940. As Raimund Bauer reminds us, this use of rhetoric is far from being an isolated case.2 Many prominent Nazis and German officials both before 1933 and during the Third Reich proclaimed the idea of a European Federation or European Community under German political and cultural hegemony.3 According to this vision, German hegemony would establish a Großgermanische Reich, a Greater German Empire. Other ideas of Europe proposed before and during the war and mentioned by some of the authors under review here, were for a European Kampfgemeinschaft (‘Fighting Community’), Neuordung Europa (a ‘New Order of Europe’), Das Neue Europa (the ‘New Europe’), Rassengemeinschaft (the ‘Racial Community’ of Europe), and Völkerfamilie Europa (‘Europe as a Family of Peoples’).4 -

Just a thought about the orange clown both as an individual and figuratively as a cohort…let us assume the obvious, that he and the cohort are ignorant and ambitious….thus fated to fail in their ego-driven quests. Out of my depth here, and old-fashioned in terms, but it seems to me that this will lead to psychosis, something akin to what they used to call “transient stress psychosis” indistinguishable, iirc, from (another old time term) schizophrenia. Sic fata decernunt

These thoughts arise listening to Brother Ritter…. but they’ve been stewing for a while anyway…
And the phrase “iron-clad guarantee” bothers me. I know of only one kind of guarantee that’s “iron-clad”
