US Intelligence Deepening Influence on the Lebanese Army

Officials in Lebanon’s security sector, including intelligence officers from European capitals present on diplomatic missions, have confirmed that US intelligence operations, particularly those led by the CIA, have significantly expanded. These operations have focused on Hezbollah and Palestinian groups like Hamas, even prior to the outbreak of war. These efforts involve both human intelligence recruitment and advanced surveillance technologies. American drones, capable of long-duration flights, have been operating over Lebanese airspace—ostensibly to monitor smuggling, but primarily gathering intelligence on Hezbollah’s activities, military infrastructure, weapons transfers, and troop movements.

Following Lebanon’s 2019 financial collapse, cooperation between Lebanese security agencies and the US has intensified significantly. A senior Lebanese security official revealed that the US increased its financial aid to Lebanese military and security forces, underscoring Washington’s growing influence over the Lebanese military.

As Lebanon’s support for Gaza increased, US intelligence activities have escalated. Drones now conduct frequent reconnaissance missions, particularly in areas where Israeli drones are restricted. Moreover, the US has imposed conditions on its support to the Lebanese army, requiring a permanent US military presence at Hamat Air Base to oversee drone operations. Additionally, the US has real-time access to data from surveillance towers built by the British along Lebanon’s borders.

Hezbollah has been closely monitoring these activities. In one incident two years ago, a Lebanese army drone, controlled by the US, was detected flying over Hezbollah resistance camps, including areas believed to house rocket production facilities. In response, the army commander requested access to these sites to verify US claims, but Hezbollah rejected the request.

For years, Hezbollah has adhered to a policy of refraining from targeting Western and Arab interests in Lebanon—a stance emphasized by its late leader, Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. As part of this policy, Hezbollah has agreed not to arrest or prosecute foreigners suspected of collaborating with “Israel” or international intelligence networks working against it. However, a few days ago, Hezbollah detained an Israeli-American citizen patrolling Beirut’s southern suburbs under the guise of journalism. Although Hezbollah handed the individual over to the Lebanese army for interrogation, US forces quickly intervened, retrieving the detainee and flying him out of Lebanon without further investigation.

It was a busy day today on the war front.  Here is the nifty drone that Hezbollah used today, first a missile, then the drone, right into the dining room at a base belonging to the Golani Brigade in Akka.

This is now called “The Last Supper”.

The israeli forces sustained dead and injured although the number is highly protected. At the moment the IDF cops to 4 dead and injuries in the 60’s but even the photos and videos have more dead lying around.  Israeli media platform: More than IDF 110 army personnel were injured today in the ongoing battles in the northern sector.  The IDF soldiers do not die, they only suffer slight injuries.

Israeli army spokesperson has urged Israelis not to share information about casualties, after confirming that at least four soldiers were killed and seven wounded in a recent attack. The spokesperson requested that settlers refrain from publishing details about the wounded and deceased.

The settler channels though are spilling the beans.  Hezbollah are using zionist tactics and releasing their own warnings:   “Hezbollah has issued another warning to residents of major northern cities, including Haifa, Tiberias, and Safed, advising them to avoid areas near Israeli military infrastructure. The group stated that homes located near these sites are considered legitimate targets for its missile and air force operations.”  They’re driving the settlers insane!

It is reported that Hezbollah targeted the IDF’s Chief of Staff with their missile and drone attack.  Early reports say that they were successful, but this is still to be taken with a pinch of salt.   The resistance was number 1 in the theater today with 38 operations. All indications are that they’ve embarked on a new pace and we’re seeing the Hezbollah of 2006, only more technical and more committed.  Even the US media reports that Hezbollah is an amazing fighting force.  The resistance as a whole did not stop attacking today.

Netanyahu now believes he can instruct the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to withdraw peacekeepers from the war zone in southern Lebanon ‘for their own safety’.  The only threat to these peacekeepers is Netanyahu himself.

“Mr Secretary General, get the UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon) forces out of harm’s way. It should be done right now, immediately,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insisted in a video message released by his office.

The UN force in Lebanon has nearly 11,000 soldiers and civilian staff from 48 countries. They are deployed under the UN Security Council resolution of March 1978.

UN force reports that a fifth peacekeeper has been wounded in Israeli attacks on Lebanon. Bear in mind that UNIFIL is the most successful peacekeeping force that the UN Security Council ever put in place. This past week at the SC meeting, the fact that these peacekeepers were being used by the zionist entity both to hide behind, as well as to attack, caused those that were still asleep in the SC to wake up fast. This is most probably one of the biggest mistakes that israel is making – attacking the UNIFIL peacekeepers. There are 50 countries involved here.

– After the resounding failures and heroic resistance that the Israeli enemy army faced in the Eastern Sector, it has been trying in the past two days to advance in the Western Sector from the direction of Ras al-Naqoura and Jal al-Alam towards Mushairfeh and Labbouneh, trying to take advantage of the terrain that Israeli believes is more in its favour.

– Before attempting to advance on the new axes, the Israeli Air Force launched dozens of airstrikes together with violent artillery shelling from land and sea on the towns of al-Dhuhayrah, Alma al-Shaab, and al-Naqoura.

– At dawn on Tuesday, a force from the Israeli enemy attempted to advance from Ras al-Naqoura towards the border area of ​​Labbouneh with the aim of reaching the UNIFIL forces base in Labbouneh and positioning themselves there, but the fighters of the Islamic Resistance confronted them with appropriate weapons and forced them to retreat.

– There is a complete and instant coordination between the leadership of the Islamic Resistance and the operations room, reaching the brothers stationed on the front lines.

– More than a week after announcing the start of what it calls the ground maneuver in southern Lebanon, the IDF still cannot expose its tanks and military vehicles on the Lebanese side for fear of being targeted, and positions them in concealed places, and despite that, they are targeted with missiles and artillery shells and suffer heavy losses.

– The Israeli enemy has failed, until the time of this statement, to control any of the strategic hills it is trying to advance to, and is satisfied with reaching some houses on the outskirts of some border villages with the aim of taking a few pictures and organizing media visits.

– The Israeli army uses the homes of settlers in settlements in northern occupied Palestine as gathering centers for its officers and soldiers, and its military bases that manage the aggression against Lebanon are also located inside settlement neighborhoods in major occupied cities such as Haifa, Tiberias, Acre, and others. These homes and military bases are targets for Hezbollah, and accordingly we warn the settlers from being near these military gatherings in order to preserve their lives.

– The Islamic Resistance reiterates its committed to its covenant and promise to its highest martyr, Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, that the settlements in northern Israel will remain free of settlers until the war on Gaza and Lebanon stops (i.e. Hezbollah will continue fighting unless there is a ceasefire in Gaza.)

The israeli envoy put his sweet voice on and addressed the Lebanese people (he was trying to do this lovingly, but it only grated on the ears of this listener and it was unbecoming yet again for that meeting). He was exhorting the Lebanese people to throw Hezbollah out and get back to the South Lebanon army and while they throw Hezbollah out, they should also throw Iran out – I kid you not. I could not believe my ears at the sheer trickery being tried. This was the envoy’s response to a scathing set of speeches, because Israel attacked the UN peace contingent. When the meeting was over the chairperson invited everyone to discuss the issues in a less formal atmosphere. The envoys got up and started chatting to one another, and the three from the Israeli contingent were left absolutely alone. Nobody even went close to them, as if there was a moat around them. They slinked out which I must admit, gladdened my heart!.

Israeli opposition leader calls for resurrection of South Lebanon Army.

🪖 Israeli opposition leader and former Prime Minister Yair Lapid , a left-wing Zionist, has called for the re-establishment of the collaborationist South Lebanon Army (SLA) , which existed from 1982 to 2000, to form a military backbone among locals to support the Zionist occupation army in southern Lebanon .

🇯🇴 In an article published in The Economist , Lapid called for a reorganization of Lebanon’s political structure and, importantly, even the rebuilding of its army. He advocated regime change in Lebanon, saying that the international community would need to appoint some sort of oversight committee for Lebanon to govern its civil life for a period of time until elections were held and a new government took control.

🛡🇮🇱🇦🇪 Crucial to these efforts would be the creation of a Lebanese army loyal to Israel , the West and the Gulf kings .

“Currently, Lebanese soldiers earn $120 a month, and even that money doesn’t always come in. With investments that would be insignificant by international standards, it would be possible to build a southern Lebanese army, positioning it south of the Awali River and acting as a buffer between Israel and Hezbollah,” Lapid said.

“In the past, the South Lebanon Army that existed in the area had a completely different and more limited nature. Most importantly, it was a completely separate entity from the Lebanese Armed Forces, the official army of Lebanon, and it operated without coordination or instructions from the government of the country. This time, things should be different,” Lapid added.

🇱🇧🇱🇧 The South Lebanon Army (1982-2000) was an army of Lebanese collaborators who created the puppet pro-Israeli state of ” Free Lebanon ” led by Antoine Lahad in the south of the country with a collaborationist government represented by all religious communities in the country, but the backbone (60%) were Maronite Christians and representatives of a number of their parties, including the Kataeb party of the Gemayel family, now represented in the Lebanese parliament, the Lebanese Forces of Samir Geaji, the Lebanese Democratic Party (LDP) of the Chamoun family, as well as the Guardians of the Cedar of Etienne Saker, now banned in Lebanon.

Lebanon’s National News Agency reports that several Sri Lankan peacekeepers were injured in another Israeli attack targeting the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) headquarters in southern Lebanon.

According to the report, an Israeli Merkava tank targeted one of UNIFIL’s observation towers along the main road connecting Tyre to Naqoura, near a Lebanese Army checkpoint, injuring the Sri Lankan contingent stationed at the site.

In response, France has summoned the Israeli ambassador following these attacks.

4. Settlers in the nearly empty north have filed 6,000 compensation requests for damages, which amount to 15 billion shekels ($5 billion).
5. 10,000 rockets have been fired from Lebanon towards northern occupied Palestine, with a new average of about 150 rockets per day, in 3,200 operations in support of Gaza, targeting over 1,031 locations.
6. These rockets are reaching as deep as Haifa and beyond, taking settlers “back to the days of the Second Lebanon War,” as quoted by Haaretz.
7. Of the damage caused by the rockets, 54% was in residential buildings, 11% in public buildings, and 3% in infrastructure.
8. 1,645 direct hits were recorded on buildings, mostly in “Kiryat Shmona” and “Metulla,” according to Yedioth Ahronoth. “Al-Manara” was struck 63 times, and “Shtula” in the northwest 68 times.
9. The cost of losses overall was 62 billion shekels in the last month alone, causing a deficit of 26 billion shekels since 2024 started. The deficit has reached a new record of 117.3 billion shekels (nearly $32 billion), which is the highest in the short life of the zionist entity.
