2) The Iranian revolution is an ongoing process. The blow struck by the Iranian masses in 1979 still reverberates to this day but there are dangers facing the revolution. The presence of so many compromising elements within the Iranian bourgeois was a surprise to me but made complete sense once I’d read the material from the 10 Mehr comrades. The Iranian revolution survived the US (via the Iraqi Ba’athists) attempt to destroy it in the 1980s thanks to the self sacrifice and heroism of the masses. If Iran is to prevail then the masses must rise again to secure the sovereignty and independence of Iran against US imperialism, its paid agents (MEK etc) and also against those who keep trying to prostrate Iran before the west.

3) The war will end with the final removal of US and British imperialism from the region and the next phase of the national liberation struggle will unfold. The imperialists will not make this easy but will desperately prop up the zionist regime for as long as they can, they know that if it goes down then so do they. This will be tempered by the realities of their own decline and their forces being spread between Ukraine, West Asia and South East Asia however. The imperialists cannot fight on three fronts. Sooner or later they will have to prioritise one over the others. Hezbollah doesn’t need the airport or the harbour for its logistic supply. Worse, the #US informed the Iraqi government that Iraqi aid convoys heading to #Lebanon by land or air could be a target for the Israelis unless the Iraqi government agreed to have them inspected by the Americans before they left for Beirut. What does this mean for #Iraq’s sovereignty?

Sovereignty implies a state’s right to govern itself without outside interference. If the United States demands to inspect Iraqi aid convoys destined for Lebanon and threatens that Israel could target these convoys if they aren’t inspected, Iraq would be unable to exercise its own decision-making authority. This undermines Iraq’s autonomy in managing its foreign aid and diplomacy, reducing its ability to act independently.

Furthermore, Iraq’s acknowledgement that the United States inspect aid convoys before they head to Lebanon challenges its control over its own military and logistical operations. The demand could force Iraq into a subordinate position, as it might have to comply with external conditions that conflict with its domestic or regional policies.

If Iraq complies with U.S. demands, it risks damaging its relationship with Iran (a close ally of Hezbollah and Lebanon) and potentially faces backlash from within its own political factions. On the other hand, refusing U.S. demands could provoke military action from Israel, further complicating Iraq’s role in the region.

Perceived Weakening of Sovereignty: The ability of external states to dictate Iraq’s actions—particularly under the threat of military strikes by Israel—could project an image of Iraq as a state with limited control over its own affairs.
