BRICS activities this past year since Russia took over the Chair

It was too quiet in my view.  We did not hear enough and we did not see enough.  The BRICS fora during this year in the run-up to the Summit planned in Kazan. 22–24 October are not open to use, in other words, they are copyrighted.

” The materials posted on this website may only be used with the written permission of the Roscongress Foundation or the respective copyright holder.”  Roscongress handles the management and organization of the fora.    As I saw something that could be interesting, the copyright did not allow me to use the information.

It is now eight weeks before the summit.  Here and there I’ve seen a little more information.  The economic plans are simply not open to see.   You may remember Mr.Lavrov saying that no new members will be taken in.  I am not sure if it is only for this year, or longer, but I do know they have planned a 2ndary layer, for new members.

But let’s take a look at what they’ve done.  Here is the list of fora during the year.

I only hope that with all these fora, from counter-terrorism, youth, sports, parliamentarians and more, will have built a strong base and that we will see real progress during the Summit.
