Possible Coup brewing in Bolivia (continual updates): It is early days but it looks like Yankee is going Home!
Latin America is under stress and pressure as I’ve reported before. This is most probably a recolonization effort. It is early days but it looks like the military is trying to oust the legally elected democratic government, which stood against Washington. Evo Morales was a very popular president and respected world wide. Luis Arce, the current president, is doing a fair job.
This coup has a plan behind it. The military leader is doing it step by step but getting strong pushback as he goes. The Bolivian people are just not interested and will defend their ‘democracy’ tooth and nail.
Se gesta el Golpe de Estado.

The Coup d’état is brewing. At this time, personnel from the Armed Forces and tanks are deployed in Plaza Murillo. They called an emergency meeting at the Army General Staff in Miraflores at 3:00 pm in combat uniforms. Call on the social movements of the countryside and the city to defend democracy.
Convocamos a una Movilización Nacional para defender la Democracia frente al golpe de Estado que se gesta a la cabeza del Gral. Zuñiga.

We call for a National Mobilization to defend Democracy against the coup d’état that is being brewed at the head of General Zuñiga. We declare an indefinite general strike and road blockade. We will not allow the Armed Forces to violate democracy and intimidate the people
URGENT 🇧🇴 Reports of unauthorized deployments of tanks armed forces have raised alarms about an imminent coup in Bolivia. From the @ProgIntl Observatory, we urge international attention to these grave violations of Bolivian democracy.pic.twitter.com/dnfcYJ9baw

LATEST:
1. “We will reclaim our homeland’: Bolivia armed forces mobilize in La Paz as coup fears rise
Military vehicles head to Plaza Murillo in the Bolivian administrative capital of La Paz.
‘We will reclaim our homeland’ said General Juan José Zuñiga Macias, whom former Bolivian President Evo Morales accused of attempting a coup.”
My comment: Sure! reclaim it for who exactly? I thought you had it after all the tremendous trouble that you’ve been through.
2. Perhaps we see CELAC influence here. I hope so.
“I want democracy to prevail in Latin America”: Lula asks his foreign ministry to investigate events in Bolivia
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said that after participating in a government act, he will ask the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to investigate what is happening in Bolivia.
“I asked Minister Mauro to call Bolivia, to call the president, to call the Brazilian ambassador so that we are sure and we can have a position. As I am a lover of democracy, I want democracy to prevail in Latin America; coups have never worked.”
3. (The broadcast is in Spanish)
Crowds are gathering in central La Paz to oppose the coup. Military police is cordoning off the square and firing tear gas to disperse the people.

5. Bolivian Army General Juan José Zúñiga, leader of the coup plotters, says that there will be a new cabinet: “We respond to the cry of the people. The people say: ‘enough of the looting,’ ‘enough of the outrage to our country,'” he stated.
My comment: Yup, it is an attempted coup and it is fanned by alphabet agency Washington flames.
5. Former Bolivian President Evo Morales indicated on social networks that, in Plaza Murillo, there are snipers stationed in the area. “We denounce that a group of the Challapata Special Regiment ‘Méndez Arcos’ took over Plaza Murillo with snipers. This seems to indicate that they prepared the coup d’état in advance. I ask the people with a democratic vocation to defend the homeland from some military groups that act against democracy and the people ,” he expressed.
6. The previous coup .. a little bit of history. Elon Musk: “We will coup whoever we want! Deal with it.” Bolivia just stopped him from mining in their country. That is when the issue was litium.
7. National Army Commander Juan José Zúñiga announced the release of 2019 coup leaders, who he refers to as the “political prisoners of the country”, beginning with Luis Fernando Camacho, from a maximum security prison, Jeanine Áñez, jailed military officers, among others.
From Venezuelanalysis: Kind of looks like Bolivia’s General Zuñiga might have overplayed his hand with a coup attempt (he was dismissed yesterday). He announced the liberation of “political prisoners” but even fascists like Luis Fernando Camacho and former self-proclaimed president Jeanine Áñez have condemned the coup. Zuñiga remains holed up in a tank.
8. Have you ever seen such a thing in your life? Going on strike against a coup. Bolivia’s union confederation has announced an indefinite general strike against the coup, effective immediately. The Central Obrera Boliviana, which contains all workers and peasant unions is also mobilizing workers and social movements to descend on the capital, La Paz, to repel the coup.
9. What a coup in Bolivia is supposed to look like:
10. A Blow to the Coup! Bolivian President Lucho Arce has appointed new commanders for the army, airforce and navy. Coup leader Zuñiga remains barricaded in Plaza Murillo, with tanks blocking access to the square and keeping crowds at bay with tear gas.
New army chief José Sánchez Velásquez has ordered all military personnel to return to barracks. Said the new military leadership will ensure that legality and the Constitution are respected.
11. Back to 2019 and a reminder: Reminder: Bolivia has the largest lithium reserves in the world.
12. Bolivian President Luis Arce addresses the nation:
“The Bolivian people are summoned today. We need them to mobilize against the coup d’état, in favor of democracy. We cannot allow, once again, for coup attempts to take Bolivian lives,” said the president in a message to the population after the military broke into the Government Palace of the country.
“We want to urge everyone to defend democracy and to stand firm in the Casa Grande, with the entire cabinet, with our social organizations. We salute the social organizations and cordially invite them to once again show the Bolivian people the way to democracy. Long live the Bolivian people! Long live democracy!” he said.
Teargas on the square of Plaza Murillo, in La Paz but Luis Arce goes outside and directly faces the coup plotters of which the leader barricaded himself in his tank.
13. The Argentine state broadcaster is airing all the comments of the coup leaders. That tells a lot! Argentina is a property of the hegemon, Chile has long been a property of the hegemon and now they want Bolivia again. Yankee ve a casa! Go Home! Fuera!
14. The military is leaving Murillo Square in the Bolivian city of La Paz, which it had earlier seized as part of an attempted coup d’état, Bolivia TV reported. Outside, citizens are cheering, lighting fireworks, and singing the national anthem.
15. Former Bolivian President Evo Morales called for the arrest of all coup plotters. They will join the other two from the 2019 coup in prison. The coup leaders retreated in under 3 hours! The entire ordeal has come almost out of nowhere, no right-wing street protests preceded this, unlike 2019.
16. This is then planned to be the last update. The quickest coup in the history of mankind one can say. It looks like president Luis Arce was well prepared with a second layer of military leaders immediately available for appointment and swearing in to restore order. This would be a massively important technique demonstrated as to how to win against the adventures of the alphabet agencies. The meddling is crystal clear. The plan was drawn up but really, stupidly. The US is expecting people to react as the US would do, and they are simply not doing that. Arce and Morales asked the people to pull up to the Plaza Murillo and withstand the coup. They did, fully intending to carry out the coup plotters by hand, if there was no other way.
Internal cohesion, the people, and a good plan B can win a coup! The arrests are happening according to local media.

Two fucking weeks ago.

The coup attempt in Bolivia a few days after Bolivian President Luis Arce officially declared his desire to integrate the country into BRICS was not accidental. It is a “preemptive strike” against attempts to include South America in the project of building a multipolar world. This is especially important now that Russia is beginning to militarize its international partnerships.
Here is what Arce did during his visit to Russia around two weeks ago:
- Rosatom agreed to build an industrial complex in Bolivia for the extraction and production of lithium carbonate (the country has 21.4% of the world’s resources).
- He visited SPIEF in Russia as a high-profile guest and said that BRICS has broken the US hegemony in the global economy.
- He sharply criticized NATO, saying “NATO’s actions are putting world peace at risk,” in an exclusive interview with Sputnik.
Please, Bolivia, donate some of that lithium to DC Water. They want lithium badly, and obviously need it.
…and maybe Russia or China can open up a clozapine factory and donate some of that too.
Thank God the putsch appears a damp squib. The renegade general is in full retreat. Hope he has Biden-grade diapers inside that tank! Jungle Borrell may have given the loss away, lol.

The gossip-net says he was the first out, just after the new military leaders were sworn in.
Less than three weeks ago, Bolivian Prez Arce was at SPIEF-2024. They were top candidates for BRICS expansion. Now there’s a coup.. This is why Russia agreed to halt expansion. Every nation will have to first earn their liberty the old fashioned way, whether an SMO or fighting off fifth… Read more »
That is what I think .. too many green countries clamoring to get in without their credentials clean and in hand. But Bolivia? They’ve paid their dues. Just read some about Evo Morales or perhaps people know.
I just can’t bear it sometimes, its heartbreaking. I watched what happened to Evo Morales back then and it was awful. I guess the leaders and people of Bolivia have to get smarter about allowing the wounded capitalist hyenas to fester in their own country. In my country they aren’t… Read more »
